Comment: Upon entering our room the door frame fell down and hit me in the head, super lucky it was only the side without the sharp nails sticking out. We were promised our room would be comped and to contact them if the charge on the credit card did not disappear. Call them back a week later because it’s still there and suddenly it’s only a half refund. Manager on duty when we call refused to help us further. I would not stay at this establishment againUpdate: Since then we’ve sent them two separate emails, where they respond they will forward it to the right department and then never hear back. You can see the same here in the reviews how they only respond to the positive ones. Tells you all about their customer “service”

Comment: Clean spacious two bedroom condo. We appreciate the full kitchen and two full baths. We traveled with a family of six. Getting up in the morning, making breakfast, showered and out the door was easy. We had a great balcony view of the courtyard and mountains.Hotel grounds and lobby clean and well maintained. The hotel front desk was friendly and helpful.Secured underground parking. The room was clean with comfy beds. The only issue was getting house keeping to take the trash out. The place was short on the staff during the midweek.Only bad was the pool was closed but we were allowed to swim at the Westin hotel across the street.

Comment: We had a two bedroom condo. It was very nice. We were on the top floor and had a good view. There were three TVs that the kids loved. We had a balcony.Downside was the pool was down one day. Parking garage is tight. Food around the hotel is not good. Water pressure in shower was not great.

Comment: The Village Lodge exceeded our expectations. My boyfriend booked us a two night stay. Mammoth was in between seasons, so it was generally not that busy, which we liked. The service at the lodge is outstanding. The staff is so informative about the village and all the amenities there are to explore. We loved the couples bathrobes. Such a sweet touch. Our favorite part was walking into our room for the first time and there was romantic jazz music playing. That set the whole mood for us and our stay. Top notch service. The fireplace was a perfect touch in the evening as the nights were cooler. We loved our view from our balcony. We had a view of the pool area, which did not disappoint. Especially at night when they lit the little campfires that you can gather around, and all the twinkle lights that just sparkle reflecting off the little lake or pond,(whatever you want to call it). The air was crisp and the sky was clear. We are planning to be back soon, and this time for winter & were bringing the kids. Because yes, this place is also amazing for family stays. The room was so large. Separate living room area, which I believe is a queen size pullout bed, which was comfortable and easy to place. We enjoyed a movie night on the pullout bed, with the fireplace lit and some wine to unwind.The bathroom was great. Shower & tub, big enough for two. The two optional lightings in there were a nice touch. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever about our stay. Cant wait to return to the Lodge.

Comment: Location, location, location. Close to everything. But if you’re looking for a quiet place, this may not be the best choice. This is the central location for shopping during the day, and bars and restaurants at night. If you want to be in the middle of it all, this is your place. Proximity to the gondola is a huge plus, as well as underground parking.

Comment: We just came back after 5 day stay at unit 3101..a studio .. don’t take that room !!!TV way too small for a room at large and didn’t work properly despite numerous attempts and even changing the cable box . Finally we were offered to change our room 14 hrs later but we had already unpackedNo drawers whatsoever for our clothingDining room table was slantedDoor frame was broken and had to left the door in order to lock itBlow dryer was broken and sparking .. had to ask for a new oneCouldn’t get the room warm enough .. had to have the heater fan on high, use their portable heater and have the fireplace on to get the room warm enoughEverything is so outdatedFor slightly more money will stay at Westin next time or go to alpenhoff lodge for same price or lessGave us a refund for the resort fees of $147

Comment: We left a night early because we simply couldn’t sleep in the overheated rooms. There is no way to regulate temperature in your room other than opening windows and leaving the balcony door open.We have little kids and it was very loud due to the bay being nearby so it was hard to keep the windows open.At this price point (we paid 600/night), the rooms need to be upgraded, the carpet is old and the initial room they gave us smelled like smoke. They were kind enough to give us another room when we told them.Will not return to this lodge.

Comment: Location and amenities are the highlights sthere, though they are extra fees associated with your stay. The walk to the Village Gondola which takes you to Canyon Lodge is as close as you can get.The following are included in your resort fee: underground parking, access to the year-round heated pool and 3 hot tubs located in the courtyard and use of a ski locker near the building entry so you dont lug your skis back to your room. Bring your own lock, or borrow one from the front desk for a refundable deposit.Service calls are answered promptly, providing friendly and courteous assistance.All in all, a reasonably kept place to experience the mountain and the village with attentive service and some great amenities.

Comment: I booked a 4 night stay and 3 day lift ticket bundle for $2300. Unfortunately, our luck, it happened to be during the biggest storm of the year and we were told not to drive up the first night by a family member who was trying to drive home. The weather was terrible and the roads were scary. I called the reservation center to try to exchange my first night and add a day at the end of our vacation. They said we could not get a refund or exchange because the roads were still open. We were going to drive up the next morning to try to salvage part of our vacation, but again, bad luck, our daughter broke her arm snowboarding and needed a emergency surgery and we needed to cancel the entire trip. So I called to see if they could give us any break or even some vouchers for the lift tickets. They would not budge. No refund or exchange for any reason whatsoever. Even though my receipt email said we would just have to forfeit only our deposit if we canceled within 7 days, not the entire $2300. We are avid snowboarders living in California, but we will not ever stay at the Village Lodge or any of the sister properties.

Comment: Had to sneak out from my room to grab a bottle of water from my car which was parked literally next to the elevator on the ground floor. With only one elevator in operation (as of Jan 23, 2024) it took me 15 minutes to get from the 4th floor to the ground and back! Do whatever you can to avoid accommodations in the main building (where the check-in desk is) or live on the 1th floor. Otherwise you’ll get old waiting for your elevator here

Comment: Ive stayed here twice. The location is convenient for families with small children needing childcare while skiing. The quality of the rentals varies widely and when booking through Mammoth Reservations there is no quality control. I booked a luxury 3 bedroom two consecutive years. The first unit was truly luxury and extremely well maintained. The second unit was far from luxury and had several maintenance issues some that were safety concerns. Mammoth Reservations doesnt care about these issues and defers responsibility to the owner. If I stay here again, I would book through a platform that gave me increased control over what I am receiving for my money.

Comment: This place is amazing! It has everything—bars, restaurants, and rentals. If you want to head to the mountains, theres a gondola right in the village. Plus, you can ski back from the mountains to the village. The location is absolutely perfect! On top of all that, theres a heated pool and jacuzzi, which is just the cherry on top. I highly recommend it.

The reason we chose the Village Lodge was their EV charging in the garage - these worked very well for us, though 5 are Tesla with only one J1772. Be aware that while their cancellation policy says two full days, what they mean is three days.

Comment: We stayed here for three nights for a wedding in September. Parking was super easy and wayfinding on the property was easy too. It was really nice being so close to bars and restaurants.The rooms could have been better. They need updates. Our bed was so uncomfortable. Just laying on my side it felt like the mattress was digging into my hips. We had a second bedroom with a more comfortable bed but it was a double sized mattress which was too small to comfortably sleep 2 people. I didn’t sleep well the entire time. The room didn’t have AC (I get it’s more of a winter destination) but it was hot at night since the AC unit was only in the living room area. I opened the window to the balding and part of the bottom of the frame fell apart. There were no black our curtains which made sleeping in difficult.I wouldn’t stay here again.

The only complaint is that the air hose in the standing ac unit was split so it was blowing warm air and cool air into the room simultaneously. Comment: Its 10:15 pm and there is a huge crowd outside in the plaza yelling and screaming. No idea whats happening or why thats okay in a canyon of condos full of families. Its noisy and disruptive especially as the windows offer no sound proofing. If you stay, beg for a room on the inner pool courtyard.Room needs an update, shower stall needs replacement, housekeeping never showed up.Condo sleeps six but we are only allowed one parking space.

However, the condo does need some maintenance, e.g. the family room window is broken and wont shut, the trashcan lid wont shut, the blinds on the balcony door are broken. Also, the shampoo and body wash bottles were empty. If it wasnt for those little inconveniences this place would get 5 stars.

Comment: Stayed at an Airbnb in the village. Was definitely “lodgey” feeling. The Westin may be nicer for lodging amenities, but the village lodge location is key. Make sure to check out all the shops, and know that Smokeyard and Vulcania are top notch restaurant choices in the village. The luau bar is a fun night life vibe. Went in on a Saturday, there was a DJ, dance floor was filled, was overall a fun spot.

Comment: I would leave 0 stars for each of the above if that was an option….the location is literally the ONLY good thing about Village Lodge. You can see from the included pictures the condition of the room: an air conditioner that sounded like a plane engine, knobs missing on the dressers, desperate need of paint, just to name a few. We spend 4 nights and our room was only cleaned ONCE, and that was after I called at 3:30pm to request a cleaning. I have NEVER in my life experienced such poor customer service, especially when dealing with front desk worker, Michelle. Our key cards were mistakenly killed and we were not able to get back into the parking garage after our dinner. All Michelle would have had to do is apologize and give us new, working key cards. Instead, she was completely defensive, saying this isn’t her fault, and accusing us of already being angry when we came to the front desk to resolve the issue, which was absolutely false. I will NEVER stay at the Village Lodge again…EVER! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Comment: Ok so the location is awesome. And weve stayed here before in a condo that was beautiful and worth the cost. But this stay has left us disheartened and I dont think well stay here again. The condo were in this time is severely outdated and falling apart. TVs that are small and not smart TVs, blinds falling apart, broken window screens, showerheads that just suck, a couch that is so incredibly awkward you cant get comfortable. They have a broken monopoly game with a board in multiple pieces, no game pieces and a few hundred dollars, like why?. The front desk messed up at check in and charged my debit card for the stay when it was supposed to be handled via a different card, leaving me with little leftover to eat, get gas, etc. I didnt even see a bill before they ran it, was told it would only be charged for incidentals, had I seen a bill prior to them running my card, I couldve questioned it but they told me very specifically it was $50 per day for incidentals and the tax. This has been a truly horrible stay with no resolution. The noise from the street is also incredibly loud in the master bedroom, even with the window closed. Disappointed disappointed disappointed, especially at $900 for two nights. Take the warning, spend your money somewhere else or take the risk.

Comment: Prices comparable to very nice Westin directly across the street. The village lodge has no hvac system in the room, they provided a roll around ac unit. When I walked into my room just after check in, it had to be 85 degrees inside. I immediately turned on the ac unit in the living room. I went to dinner and came back, by the time I was back in the room it was already cooler outside than inside. I opened the bedroom window but still had a horrible night sleep in this hot room. I’m sure this is perfect for winter time as there is a fireplace and older floorboard heating. Spend the extra $45 a night, stay at the Westin across the street. Also, the ice maker was stuck on all night dropping ice into the freezer without a bucket. The on/off switch seems broken. The only reason I rated the service higher was the nice front desk person.

Comment: I took 2 bedroom suite. The kitchen has everything you need from coffee maker and coffee supply, cups, mugs, utensils, you name it. They have pepper towels, dishwasher soap, dish soap, and sponge 🧽. Towels all sizes.In the lobby, youll find flyers for different activities around mammoth. We came in June 2023, and the temperature was very low. The pool was heated 85F. They have arcade for the kids. There is no washer and dryer in the unit, but you can find a Lundy room on the 1st floor. Movie theater!! 🎬 and more... the staff was very helpful and nice, and overall, we just love everything about this resort. The location is the best. You have bars, restaurants, and coffee shops right when you walk out of the resort. 5 min drive to the ski area. 7 min drive to vons. I couldnt ask for more it just made everything so much easier for me since I traveled with three kids all alone, I felt safe l, and secure. For me its all about that when I travel alone. Everything else is a big bonus. Dont hesitate to book your stay at the village, I promise you that you wont be disappointed.

BUT .. the front desk Mandy is rude as she can be, the bar underneath our room was open till 1.30 am and people were outside screaming, I have a toddler who had the worse time sleeping that night, also I got a food poisoning from the restaurant ( smokeyard ) and waisted my ski day in bed and front desk didn’t even try to make it work for us … so I would say .. if you like to spend tons of money or the rude service go ahead

Comment: PROS- The location of this hotel is prime — close to restaurants and shops, and the gondola if you come here to ski or snowboard.- Room was good and clean (shower could’ve seen better days but not a huge deal).CONS- Outdoor noise levels — our room was located on the ground floor and there was constant, loud noise from some sort of a truck coming and going, dropping off or picking up what must’ve been heavy items. Past 10pm even, which is really annoying if you’re getting up early to hit the slopes.- Heating / cooling kinda janky — we were convinced that the building has its own heating system. Our room was constantly hot even though we turned off the room heating. Staff was kind to bring us an air conditioning machine but ultimately we just opened our balcony door.- Paper thin walls — it’s close to midnight and we can’t sleep because of how loud the music from the hotel BAR is. The plates in our kitchen are rattling from the base lol…To sum up — you’re paying for the location during a busy season if you come up here in December, but the cons make it realllly hard to justify the price tag. Would not recommend to a friend or stay here again.

Comment: Convenient to the village gondola. Restaurants are a short walking distance. Staff is great. Got a complimentary one bedroom upgrade from a studio. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a living area with fireplace and a balcony. Tub is deep and great for soaking after a long day on the slopes and they also have a hot tub. The garage is secure and parking spaces are not crammed and a short walk to the elevators. I am thoroughly enjoying my stay. And housekeeping comes daily to replenish toiletries, towels and make up my bed (arranged for daily clean during check in).The snow was packed and hard in some places but the mountain was a ski heaven with such a small crowd skiing and snowboarding. According to front desk staff, this lull usually occurs post thanksgiving day, so guys, remember this for next year. If you want the mountain to yourself, this is the place to come to (check on snow conditions before coming). There were no lines and I got a chair to myself the entire day. 15 lifts were running and 135 trails open.

Comment: We stayed here during a blizzard, and there was so much about it that was incredible that its hard to list.The rooms all have fireplaces, parking is underground, the staff was very responsive, we even sat out in the hot tub while the snow was falling!Everything Is right nearby - and if you dont want to drive but need to get somewhere else in town the shuttle stops at several different parts of this complex.Excellent experience!

Snow gear isn’t allowed in the room but we just left it in our car and grabbed it when we were ready to go. The distance to the village gondola was perfect to get up to the slopes.

We found lots of human hair on the pillows, we had to get our own bedding from the car and use that instead.Im reading online that there is a lot of variation depending on which condo you end up in, this was room 1310 so avoid that one until the owner starts cleaning the room I guess!

A one bedroom, with kitchen, patio balcony overlooking a beautiful plaza, the most comfortable bathtub AND the most comfortable mattress, all for around 150! Cant be beat! Great service, laundry room, gym, pool, and everything necessary for a pleasant stay. It was wonderful here!

Looking out off the deck seeing below the cute plaza area was dreamy. Unfortunately, the next two nights were so busy it was tough to enjoy. They had music and events set up and it drew massive crowds. When my wife took our kids down on Saturday night the smells of marijuana filled the air and it was a young crowd having a good time. The pool on Friday and Saturday was so slammed the kids could barley enjoy swimming. One of the staff we met in the elevator let us know that he had never seen the place so crowded. Just an unfortunate situation.

Comment: Quite a nice hotel in its own little village location. Glad it wasnt too hot as the aircon was actually just a (very loud) portable unit in the lounge and a ceiling fan in the bedroom area. Had a nice meal at the bbq restaurant and played the games in the square. Parking is very good in huge underground garage with lift access to the different accommodation blocks. The next day we went up the mountain on the cable car to 12,000 ft and found some natural hot springs for a dip.

She was lovely and eased my mind when turning up to a canceled booking. She is a true gem at the front of house, and should be commended! SAM at the front desk was also helpful and genuinely friendly - a real star to be greeting guests. I fell in love with this place & the rooms, location and vibe are unbeatable. the lead female of house-keeping was also a star during my stay. she helped me with my luggage - all the way from my room to the turn around with a genuine smile. i cant recall her name, but shes a legend. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN.

Comment: Looking very run down these days, and very loud. Housekeeping was awful, and our place wasn’t clean at all. Our little ones found fishing accessories on the floor. There was blood on the sheets and comforter. If you come here with little kids that go to sleep early, make sure you aren’t facing the village. It’s a shame to pay extra for a view just to be kept up all night by the noisy patrons downstairs. I also recommend staying on the top floor, as the floors/ceilings seem to be paper thin. We had people above us this last trip that were stomping throughout the entire night. I’d suggest staying somewhere else. We’ve stayed here many times in the past, but won’t be coming back.EDIT: 2 things to add.1) When we booked over the phone and when we checked in, we weren’t told anything about construction. We were woken up after a horrible night’s sleep to the lovely sounds of paint scraping outside of our place one day, and another day with workers standing on our 3rd floor balcony looking into our place.2) We were already contacted by management asking why we didn’t complain and get moved. Answer is we got in late and unpacked for a family of 6 which is like moving in and didn’t realize what we were in for until the next day as things started unraveling. We were also told that there were no other 3 bedrooms available for our stay, so that’s why.

There was some rearrangements made to have a better view which the front desk was able to accommodate and reissue the keys and parking passes. The location is central to all we wanted to do during our visit. The bike storage was convenient for my husband. There was a mess that some teenagers left in an elevator late one night that was cleaned up well. We needed a cart to move some of our bags and it was easy to ask the front desk and loan it out with ID as collateral. Thank you.

Its so close to everything. Its in the village so a quick gondola ride straight to Canyon Lodge. Walkable to tons of restaurants and bars.Hotel staff: This is the worst part of the hotel by far. We will never be going back as a result of 3 individuals during our check in this last weekend. Prior to our trip, 1-2 days before, we received a confirmation email. The email was straightforward and explained details to our stay. Nothing out of the norm. The email sends you to an amenities page. One of the amenities offered is parking. We were stoked because parking at the village lodge is at a premium and only for hotel guests. We took a screenshot of the page because we were pleased. Upon arrival we met with Santiago who greeted us. He was the only person we interacted with that treated us as guests at the hotel. Upon check in we were handed 1 parking pass for 2 cars. When we questioned the policy because we had an email stating 1 parking pass per bedroom, we were informed that their policy is to provide one pass for 2 bd and that 3 bds were the only ones who received multiple passes. We explained how we received a confirmation email stating otherwise. We were immediately hit with aggression from another worker named Brandon. He then demanded us to provide proof that we were allotted 2 parking spaces. We showed him the screenshot but that wasn’t enough for him and he insisted that we show him the email. We could not open the email because the internet was non-existent. At that point Joshua, the supervisor came over to help. Both Brandon and Joshua completely escalated the situation by stating repeatedly in an aggressive tone show us the proof and thats not our policy, show us. At this point they were standing over our shoulders, definitely not 6 feet away. This felt intimidating and made us feel like we were trying to get away with something we were not supposed to. We asked for the manager, as we were not being heard and now being harassed to provide proof. Mandy the front desk manager came over and again asked that we provide proof that we were allotted a second pass. Mandy acted completely inappropriately and did not de-escalate the situation. In fact, she continued the escalation. I would have been embarrassed if she were my manager. At one point she stated word for word Let me see the email because I guarantee you are wrong. She started raising her voice, would cut us off from talking and proceeded to shame us for not having the proof on paper. We asked multiple times to have the contact information for the general manager and she continued to refuse to provide it. We finally had access to internet, after receiving the staff internet password. We showed her our proof and she said huh thats weird because thats not our policy. No apologetic tone at all. In her mind we were thieves who were trying to get an extra parking pass.If you want to be treated like you are worthless then come here and talk with the staff who only care about parking passes.

The 2-star rating comes from my unpleasant experience with a front desk reception when I asked for help finding the skis locker. I was quickly questioned if I am actually staying at the Lodge, despite me saying yes, the person went as far as asking me to say my room number. During the exchange, there was no mentioning if the questions are part of a standard procedure. By the end of it, I still had no clue if he had a legitimate, larger reason to act as such. It felt like a targeted conversation, and left me in a very sour place on day 2 of my 10-day stay. I’m willing to update my review if I feel differently by the end of my stay, but as of now I’m disappointed to have experienced this micro-aggression.

Comment: This lodge has the worlds slowest elevators. This was certainly a poor construction choice relative to the size of the buildings. To compound the problem, the stairways only function as an exit to the building since each floor has a locked door in the stairwell that key cards will not open. Especially in this unfortunate era of the COVID pandemic, the stairwells here should function to allow people to climb to their floor, if they desire. Additionally, luggage carts are only located in the main building, so if you have a lot of luggage to transport on the slow elevators, it might be a long walk to get to a luggage cart. The slow elevator is something that this place may be stuck with, but they could easily fix allow carded access to stairs and have more luggage carts available for guests.

The Lodge is situated perfectly, amidst local shops, for ease of souvenir shopping and has the look of a quaint Olympic Village, lined with fairy lights.The Lodge has lovely outdoor appeal, with manicured lawns, native flower beds, outdoor fire-pits, for guests to warm hands by at night. Ping Pong tables, Corn Hole and swimming/ hot tub facilities are in the central courtyard for Lodge guests- families and children. We were outside most of our stay.Additionally, special event are offered on weekends, like courtyard yoga and Kids Movie Night and Music Festivals.The front desk staff at the Lodge are all friendly and very helpful! We appreciated how well informed they were on things to do off the beaten path as well as favorite destinations.Needs Improvment:It is better to eat outside of the Lodges village. We had bad luck with most of the restaurants there. And the could be very long lines depending on time of week and season.The inside of the Lodge itself looked maintained. Rooms were fairly well kept, and stocked. Services were limited for Covid safety which restricted their room cleaning to just once, between guest occupancy and that was not as thorough as one would hope. We experienced stale food behind couches. Doorways, light-switches, bedside tables were not wiped down after previous occupant. The room furnishings had also seen some wear. (Much of this may be due to tight times due to Covid).Overall, we had a lovely time but would have liked to see cleaner rooms for that price bracket.

Upon walking down the hallway to where our room was located which is on the same floor as the lobby, my family noticed a putrid smell coming from one of the rooms. The smell was definitely noticeable and not pleasant. . Upon entering the room, everything seems great, on the surface, but if you look at your bed, and the cleanliness of the room. You can tell that there are all kinds of Corners cut when it comes to germ disinfection.The reason for this 1 star is because of the night staff and there EXTREMELY POOR customer service and Officer HANSEN of Mammoth County Pd. This level of disrespect and lack of customer value is horrendous. Lets not forget OFFICER HANSEN. Mr. Do you not see my badge and MY GUN.Around 6:45pm Saturday-MAY 25th 2019- casually return from dinner plan to win the night down so we can be up early tomorrow for our events. The Village Lodge had a different plan for us. At 6:50, loud music starts to be played in the conference room that is below our unit. We call the front desk to address the situation and try and have the music lowered. 20 minutes passes and the music gets louder. We call again, and the front desk says theyre going to come to the room to see how loud the music is. At this point, the music is vibrating the ground. 84 decibels. So were definitely not sleeping, let alone carry a pleasant conversation. 30 minutes goes by still nothing is done and the music is even louder. Decide to go to the front desk, and speak to the night manager(Michelle) which is completely unhelpful. Showing no empathy. I think that somebody that gave her the job out of pity hoping that she could manage a staff of children. Thats right, children, no one on staff is properly trained, or courteous. No customer service skills.. NONE.. This is a highly unprofessional environment and if you want to be treated like a number. This spot is for you. At the front desk, there is now an overwhelming number of Staff behind front desk, thats absolutely unnecessary, why do you suddenly need seven people behind the front desk, handling a single guest. During this entire debacle, we discover that there is PROM going down downstairs so we want to be compensated for being booked the same night as prom. Thats it. All we want is refund. A refund for your mistake of booking us in room with this level of mysic. We wanted the prom to rock on but not at pur exoense. We were informed theres nothing that could be done and we were just going to have to deal with it or they were going to call the police if we didnt leave the front desk. I invited them to please call the police, and that maybe we can get some real professional assistance. But I again I stand corrected, I hope that not all officers of the Mammoth County Police Department conduct themselves like Officer Hanson. Poor Excuse for a person supposedly upholding the law.After waiting for the police to arrive at the front desk, for about 30 minutes we decided to go back to our room and have them come to us. Another 15 minutes later Officer Hanson bangs on the door loudly as some sort of intimidation tactic. First he said that he was called here by staff, then he said that he was assigned to the prom. Basically, hes a young kid that was assigned to watch high school kids. Before hearing both sides of the story immediately began barking out commands and when asked for clarification of his job. Stated DONT you see this and my gun . After all of this, still nothing has been done. Youre basically told to sit in our rooms and be quiet, and this to me is not okay. Not ok. Starting the process of filing a formal complaint with Mammoth Lakes Pd.

Family and pet friendly and right downstairs is a promenade courtyard with various dining shopping and eateries. If youre there in winter the ski lift is easily accessible from the courtyard. Throughout the downstairs promenade are seating areas with comfy padded chairs and multiple fire pits to enjoy and relax. Will visit and stay again!

Comment: Great! YMMV, but nine times outta ten I’ve always enjoyed staying or visiting the village when I could afford it. I always loved the convenience of a room in the village. Staff were always helpful and accommodating to my tedious requests. I love how their politeness goes a long way. Even my roommates notice how they made experience better.Unfortunately, one time the room was crazy hot. Fireplace was off but still emitting a lot of heat. I even verified the wall heater was off. Apparently, it’s a known issue. I even asked another guest about it and they said the same thing. In the end, I just opened a literal hole-in-the-wall port door to alleviate the heat. If they fix this heat issue, the room would be perfect!All in all, I will book with them again!Note: If you get the Lift-Lodging package, the lift tickets MUST be used the weekend you stay there. I was bruised up after one day, and asked if I could use my second lift ticket on another weekend, and they said they couldn’t.

Comment: From the all pictures and the reviews of this place i was excited to stay here, but when arriving was more of a let down. first the staff were very nice and parking wasnt bad and they had four tesla charging station and the ultra convenience close to some of the shops and gondola where great but for the step price it isnt worth it. first the rooms were extremely worn down all the furniture amenities including the couch and dinning area it felt like they grabbed all the furniture from a garage sell. the beds were extremely uncomfortable and felt like i was sleeping, the bedding was a nightmare and felt like sleeping on sandpaper. after a long day on the slopes, you just want to relax and be comfortable this isnt what i had in mind. i couldnt have been happier to leave and will be stay somewhere else next time.

Comment: So awful. The heater in the front room is the fireplace but if you have kids, this is a HUGE hazard because the glass will burn them badly. This can be avoided in the day but if youre using the fold out bed, then you are forced right into it. The beds are impossibly uncomfortable. No double pane windows, you can hear everything outside and all the people in the halls yelling and shouting. There is mildew in the tub. The toilet makes a sound that is ear piercing while the toilet flushes. The fold out couch is completely falling apart and painful to sleep on. They charge way too much...Ive stayed in motels with better comfort and amenities.

Comment: This hotel showed up under a free cancellation search in Orbitz. But when I cancelled they charged me $50. That is not free cancellation. Efforts with both the hotel and Orbitz failed to resolve the charge. In these times I believe hotels should be amenable. I also believe a free cancellation search should mean what it says. Be very wary before you book this place.

Its also very centrally located with awesome food options right downstairs from the rooms and downtown also within walking distance. Bathrooms were also very nice size and had all the amenitiesThe rooms were probably winter focused because the rooms were generally hot along with sofa materials. The site says the rooms are air conditioned but there is just a portable AC not central AC. Bare that in mind. The hotel was busy so parking was a challenge but staff was quick to come assist us when we ran into that issue. There was also some noise from the street early in the morning but the hotel provides white noise machines to battle that.Food outlets downstairs from the hotel have 10% off provided by the hotel. But no one tells you this so make sure you make use of it.

Remotes and phones had fingerprints as did the refrigerator. They accidentally left a tray of snacks and drinks in my room and asked that I return it for use for other guests. It didnt matter if anything had been touched or used.

Comment: The views are beautiful and the courtyard shopping was fun but if you value some sleep don’t stay here. We were up every night until 2am having to listen to people laughing and screaming right outside our patio while they left the bars/restaurants in the courtyard. We were hoping for a quiet and relaxing get away but ended up exhausted from lack of sleep. It was like living on the 2nd floor of a frat house with nightly parties.

The outdoor facilities are nice and its easy to enjoy an evening by the fire pit, pool, and hottub.However, Im a light sleeper and this is an old building that creaks loudly and often. Our room was also next to the main street and you get a lot of noise from people leaving nearby bars. The rooms were also stuffy with the central air coming from a loud portable AC unit located in the living room, there was hardly any ventilation reaching the bedrooms, and to top it off the alarms in both the bedrooms were set for 5:50 am.Its a pricey hotel so I didnt expect a couple of these things to be an issue. For this reason, this hotel would not be my first choice for my next stay in mammoth.

And I also left something in the room accidently and they were able to track it down and mail it back to me. Comment: The village is clearly the center of most things in mammoth snow related. Once i park my car in the underground parking i didnt need it again. First its not a hotel there is no free breakfast or typical room service stuff ehat your getting is a well kept condo unit our was wonderful for 4 people it worked. The village touches most of the free bus lines so we were easily went into town to Vons bought some cheaper food to cook back at the room. The general store at the village is nice but your going to pay resort prices. The snow was insane during our stay the kids went to the center of the village and were extremely happy just playing in the makeshift sledding area by the pools. From the village you can get to canyon, main and woolly tube park using free buses. The pools are open year round and yes people do swim inthe pool 20° f weather it is quite the experience.Hopefully i can get back before the season ends.

Comment: Great start/stop place with Canyon gondola taking you direct to the slopes to ride, then back down forr happy hour and apres ski. This lodge is complete with a rental/pro shop, hotel accomodations, a wide selection of bars and restaurants, coffee shops, desert spots, and even a general store. All day parking is available across the street for about $30 a day or just take the free shuttle that runs you throughout the hotspots in town and leave your car at home.

Comment: Honestly I couldnt be happier with the decision to stay at Village Lodge Mammoth. First of all the location is awesome for the slopes. The gondola running up to the mountain is right there, which is amazing.Thats not what made the trip for me, though. I proposed over the weekend with a huge help from all of the wonderful people at the lodge. I wrote and they had a sign printed out, surrounded in lights and they met me by the Christmas tree so I could propose. It was... just an absolutely amazing experience. I honestly couldnt have asked for more from everyone involved. To top it all off they sent some wine up to the room and left on a romantic station for us... it was just so thoughtful! Such a great experience overall. Would recommend and definitely will be back!Thank you again everyone at the Lodge!

We called the desk,they sent a maintenance guy but he was unable to do anything about it. We had to just open the windows to keep the temp below 80. The fridge was so badly iced up that it ran continuously and very loudly. The fireplace didn’t work. And the shower was a disaster: the diverter valve that switches the flow to the shower instead of the tub didn’t work so only about 20% of the water went to the shower resulting in a ridiculously weak stream. Next time we may stay at the Westin instead.

Despite have pre-paid our room, we were told upon arrival that we have no record of your booking-- Fortunately, I did-- but then we were told, Im sorry your room is available. We were given another room, which unfortunately, smelled very badly. We then tried to buy lift tickets for skiing, and were insulted by the management for attempting to buy ... half day, tickets, (as it was already the afternoon) and then insulted because we wanted to ski at the Main Mountain, as there are more runs. The following day, when we tried to buy tickets again, the staff at the desk did not know how to issue our tickets, and when they did, gave us tickets that expired 1 hour before the lifts actually closed. When I asked the manager of the front desK at The Village to assist our ticket purchased, he (Patrick) actually screamed at me in front of my family, humiliating my entire family, on Christmas Eve, just as we were attempting to celebrate with my entire family. The manager, Patrick, left a message asking to speak with me about my experience, and I did return the call, despite being at Christmas Eve dinner with my family. When I did return the call, a woman said Oh .. we know who you are ... and left me on the line for over 5 minutes, ... no one came to speak with me. Im not sure what to say about this humiliating experience other than to ask the following of the The Village Lodge: (1) Should I no longer expect that my reservations, pre-paid, will be honored at The Village Lodge: (2) Should I expect that, although paying over $800 per night for my room, my room will smell very badly and things such as T.V. remotes and lights will not work: (3) Should I expect to be insulted by front desk staff and screamed at, repeatedly my your management (Patrick the manager) for wanting to by a ski pass? 4. Why are you hiring people who scream at your guests ? Please note, we left The Village Lodge one day early in disgust with our treatment.

Comment: We had considered staying here when planning our trip to Mammoth Lakes, but ended up choosing their sister property at Juniper Springs. We turned out VERY happy with our choice, but still wanted to see if Village Lodge was as elegant as the pictures online, so we dropped by for a visit. The lobby is stunningly gorgeous, and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable in helping us choose a great spot for dinner (which wasnt easy, since many restaurants were closed for the fall shoulder season). If youre the night-life type, or want to be able to have all the towns amenities within walking distance, this is definitely the place for you! Just be aware that the pool and hot tubs are right in the heart of all that hustle and bustle... and many of the rooms overlook the shops and restaurants of Mammoth Village, where music plays well into the evening. If youre looking for a relaxing, private soak in the hot tub after a day on the trails, or a peaceful morning coffee on your balcony overlooking the tranquility of the surrounding mountains, this is probably not your best bet.

Comment: I stayed in a three bedroom condo with my family of four. Communication and check in was a breeze. The air conditioning is a bit weak, but we are here during an unusual heat wave, so I understand that. The accommodations are great, but could use a refresh. Id stay here again.

Comment: Its ok. We had a wedding party stay and all three rooms had some issue. My room in particular, the front tv wouldnt work. We even went to the front desk and they couldnt fix it. My moms room had to be changed because the toilet wouldnt work. My dads room had no blinds so you could see right into the rooms. Besides all of that, the rooms were clean and decent.

Comment: I was a little disappointed in the rooms. The listing for the two bedroom suite did not indicate one of them was a bunk bed. Not a great fit for two adults. The resort is quite nice, although the stores do seem to close earlier than I would expect. Food is a bit more expensive then what Im used to, but this is my first trip to California.

Comment: It is average for what you pay. Definitely a great location as there is plenty of restaurants and shops within quick walk in distance.The hot tubs are nice and were kept clean while we were there. The pool is heated but it is kept more at a cold heat so it is not comfortable to get into for very many people.If you are in the Lincoln Building you are furthest from the shuttle so it will be a longer walk to get to skiing in the morning. The shuttle however is very unreliable, as it was not working on all days that we were there. Many different excuses were given through out the week as to why it would not be running. Then when was running you would wait nearly 30 minutes or more.I cant see this as being rated 5 star as for what you pay or what I would expect. The rooms are big, but the lighting and linens are out dated. Along with the actual appliances and furniture being outdated and not up to 5 star standard.I would stay here again. I just hope they get the rooms more up to date and organized.

Comment: We visit almost every year and love everything about it. I snowboard and my parents ski and we spend as much time as possible on the mountain. At night we go to Campos or the smoke yard for a few drinks and always love the food.

Comment: I came up here with my roommate and his dad and his girlfriend for a weekend ski trip. This place is beautiful. Let me start off with how great the staff is. When we checked in, we were helped by a woman, I forgot her name, but I do remember her name tag also said black-diamond award for customer service. Man, she was super helpful! Very knowledgeable. She gave us a lot of information in regards to where the lockers were, where the parking was, where the gondolas were, etc. But she delivered it in perfect fashion. The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in a 2 room suite with a kitchen and a sofa-bed. Place was beautiful. The best part about the lodge is that its located right next to the gondola and several incredible restaurants. I am certainly going to come back here again.

Comment: Friendly staff and very convenient location to stay for snowboarding. The gondola to Canyon lodge at Mammoth are only steps away. Restaurants and shops are also easily accessible in the village. The rooms and beds are very nice and comfy.

Comment: The level of customer service was EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend booking and enjoying an experience at The Village Lodge Mammoth. Maria Salzberg, the front desk representative went above and beyond!My sons and I were recently stranded in Mammoth Lakes due to extreme heavy snowfall in a very short timeframe, flights were cancelled, rental car agencies were closed and the city was at a stand still. Although our reservations had run out with the lodge being full, she went over and above to somehow find not only find us clean comfortable rooms and got us set up while we enjoyed boarding the mountain.

Comment: Its in a beautiful setting overlooking the snow-covered shops, hearing the occasional jolly passer-bys, and seeing the non-stop snow falling through the window. The room is spacious and cozy including a full kitchen, fireplace, TV (which we hijacked to use with my laptop), balcony, and all the pillows you could ever want. The village itself is full of shops and delicious food which is nice for variety during the stay. 10/10 would stay again.

Comment: First thing: I was not an overnight guest, but rather leisurely touring the accommodations and amenities within The Village area. The Village is a quaint campus of lodge-styled shops, restaurants and bars, ski shop, and ticketing office for accessing Mammoth Mountains lifts. The Village is also the base station of a gondola that runs to Canyon Lodge, meaning the slopes are conveniently accessed from here. The outdoor spaces are nicely decorated and very well manicured for guests of the lodge and visitors of The Village, alike. The cost of so many conveniences and the gorgeous setting is certainly built into the cost of well-appointed, if a bit pricey, guest rooms.

Comment: Parking here wasnt too bad, we paid $2 for 2 hours. They have a nice big Christmas tree to take pictures with and plenty of chairs outside to sit on. Theyalso have some nice food places and shops in the area you could check out as well.

Comment: The room and amenities were very nice. The pool was great and there was such easy access to the village for food and shopping. however the service was just okay. We arrived at 4pm and our room was not ready. They told us 3 times to just wait 5-10 more minutes. Then they said they would waive the resort fee due to the inconvenience but they still charged us so we had to go back to the front desk for it to be taken care of. Overall I would stay there again because it was very nice, but these little difficulties definitely tainted the experience.

Comment: We booked with the hotel for a stay in November and learnt that we would need snow chains in our car to get there. Rental companies wont let you attach snow chains to your wheels.We called to cancel and explained why and the hotel wouldnt honor any refund. The reservation was $50 and months in advance yet they would not return it.Deplorable behaviour, I wonder how much money this place makes from people not actually able to stay here...looking at other reviews, it must be quite a bit.We will visit Yosemite in the future but will be avoiding you scamming lot!

Comment: I was only at the Village Lodge Mammoth for a short period of time while visiting during a mountain bike day and for a short period walking around and looking about. It is located in a very central location, close to the mountain and close to the rest of the town. The facilities looked excellent and theres a pool as well. There seemed to be a lot of activity and lots of good things going on. If I were to recommend the Lodge to stay at, I would need to know some pricing but from what I could see it is a great place to stay.

Comment: Awesome stay. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious with lots of things to do in the resort and nearby places. If you are thinking of this place to go visit Yosemite, note that I stayed in late May and 120, as well as 89 was closed because of ice. I had to travel ~6hrs to get to Yosemite, so I booked another hotel closer to Yosemite. If 120 is open, it only takes ~2-3 hours.

Comment: This is my favorite place to stay in Mammoth; it provides every convenience one could hope for on vacation. Park your car in the heated underground parking and leave it behind for the rest of your stay. There are tons of restaurants and shops on site to keep you busy, and best of all the gondola on the property takes you right to the slopes. Ill be back many times, Im sure.

Comment: Great place to stay for convienance to everything. The rooms are amazing, and the staff is very friendly. I will say though that the daily resort fee is a rip off. $20 per day for services that were sub par. Wireless internet didnt work, and the wired was barely at dial-up speed.

Comment: Ive stayed here twice - once in the summer, once in the winter. Rates are higher in the winter. The condos are fully furnished, with full kitchen, and fairly spacious. In a 1 bedroom, you could put 2 people in the bedroom, 2 on the pull-out couch, and 2 on an air mattress, and split the cost 6 ways. The full kitchen means you can cook and not have to pay to eat-out. The ski lift is on-site, couldnt be more convenient! WiFi doesnt appear to be free (?). Underground parking included. My only complaint is the noise from the courtyard/shopping area - I had to call the front desk at 2am to have a loud group of drunk people escorted back to their rooms.
