Comment: The attention to detail is a bit on the soft side (lax). Peeling ceiling paint in our shower to dirty sconces in the elevator are just the most obvious clues to this opinion. My favorite part was the staff at the valet parking these folk were above and beyond on the eagerness to provide the utmost efficiency in delivering your car in a timely manner. The poorest recommendation comes from the fact that Plumbing issues were scheduled to be addressed while we were in the room and I was unable to shower my last morning there.

Comment: This Hotel needs to be updated. The was clean but old. Room description online said it microwave, it did not. We checked in mid afternoon, turned on the A/C and headed out for the rest of the day. We arrived at back about 10pm. And the room was still not cool, it was a bit cooler by morning but a bit uncomfortable, spoke to someone in the elevator who also had the same complaint. Front desk said “we’re very sorry and make note of that”. Website said hot tub, no hot tub on site. No ice on any floor but we could get some at from the restaurant. Six floors to get ice!. We had breakfast at the restaurant, over priced and not very good. My advice is to spend your money somewhere else.

Comment: Lovely place.Very Clean. Didnt hear the neighbors, o.k. I heard the guy above me in the morning, but nothing to complain about. The service here is consistent and great.Room service is great. My old man Schitzu came along and was treated like a king from everyone at the hotel. The surrounding area is beautiful, the architecture is stunning. There is an array of restaurants to try, in walking distance.Very easy to walk the dog around the property and feel very safe.Well stay here again.

Comment: Very bad experience from start to finish. This hotel tarnishes the Westin brand. Building is dilapidated and rooms are bad. Bathrooms are crusty and feel dirty. Shower water doesn’t drain. The service is awful. Asked for towels which took over an hour to deliver. Elevators went down in the building during our stay. Only positive is the central location. Won’t ever return.

Comment: Hotel facility was nice and clean. The rooms themselves were a little bit dated. The bathroom has bathtubs with a non-retractable shower head. The towels were not as absorbent as Id like them to be when I stayed. The service was good. The courtyard that they have is amazing! Perfect for after work/before dinner drinks.Overall, will definitely stay here again the next time Im in Pasadena!

Ive been to Los Angeles a lot in the last year and he by far made it the best trip I have been on to L.A. 100 stars out of 5 for Crisando!

Comment: Chose this hotel because we expected a better experience. The rooms were decent and clean, but the service was below average. There doesnt seem to be any concept of hospitality from the front desk staff, they seem very disinterested and unfriendly, there is payment for parking (17 for overnight and 22 if you enter and exit several times) - which doesnt make sense to be a separate charge from the room charge. We should have just stayed at a cheaper place. I dont recommend this place and will never come back.

Comment: The pool doesn’t look anything like the photos. Lounge chairs and pool furniture was old and deteriorated. Under staffed at the hotel resturant. We had a large group and food items were either too spicy or not prepared well. Felt bad for staff they clearly needed more help. Rooms have popcorn ceilings. Not as updated as photos make them look

Comment: Extremely disappointed with my stay here. My flight was cancelled and I arrived a day late. Despite multiple communication with the hotel my stay was cancelled and I had to pay the rate on the day of my arrival which ended up costing me more despite staying one night less. During my stay, I was woken up at around 3am by loud noises coming from the A/C unit followed by the smell of burnt plastic. The staff let me switch rooms the following morning although with ZERO acknowledgment of the inconvenience or the potential health hazard of the incident. Hotel management, Dan, said they would refund part of the cost of my stay but I have yet to see it after almost 3 weeks. To think this was my experience at a Westin hotel was appalling.

Comment: Nice hotel. Ive seen a lot of reviews saying the rooms were small. I guess theyre comparing them to suites because I found it spacious with plenty of closet and storage space. We had a fridge and coffee maker in the room. There is more than enough space for two people to be comfortable. The room was clean, and housekeeping was friendly and efficient.

Comment: Its pretty ironic that a “pet friendly” hotel has its parking 2 blocks away. When I arrived to check in, the valets took one look at my car and quickly looked the other way. (Ironicallly, I was on my way of town and had sold my Mercedes earlier in the day. I’m sure there would have been a different outcome if I drove up in that.) There must have been 6 valets who sat and watched me struggle to get my 2 cats & luggage out & up to my room. They gave me a hard time when I asked to borrow their luggage cart which would have made me laugh if I wasn’t annoyed & tired beyond belief. When I finally got to self parking, it was terrible: super small spots and not enough of them. The room was fine in terms of a comfy bed and a good shower. I only booked a room here because I was traveling with cats and it was one of the only pet friendly places I could find. Its a shame because the location and views are some of the best (disclaimer: if you’re on the right side of the building and high enough up). However, based on the negative first impression and the awful attitudes I encountered, it’s not enough for me to recommend this place.

Comment: My husband and I came to LA to visit my family. We decided to stay in Pasadena due to the uncertainty of hotel service at downtown LA hotels during the hotel strike. I called Westin to confirm if the hotel strike was affecting them and they said no. It was our first time in Pasadena and staying at a Westin. I was expecting cleaner rooms and good service as I’m used to with other Marriotts. However, the bathroom was not as new or clean, the blanket had a stain, and service was mediocre at best. We requested new pillows because the feather pillows were quite flat and it took about an hour to receive the new pillows making us late to our plans. Make sure to call front desk instead of using the chat. The second set of pillows were somehow even flatter than the first. It is our last night here and I had requested foam pillows, which we were told may not be available. Eventually, we receive new pillows that I took a picture of with a giant black stain on one of the pillows. We paid the $22/night self parking with in and out privileges. The parking system was a little confusing. The only good thing were the pool and the hotel’s proximity to the main downtown area. I’ve left several chat messages and I’m quite tired of complaining. Our trip to LA was amazing, but we wished for a better stay at the Westin. I hope they can do better.

Comment: As someone who is on the road for over a 150 days a year each year, Westin Pasadena was one of the best hotel experiences yet. I’m happy to see Tara at the front desk getting called out, as she was superior in her service; extremely warm - funny and friendly. I was able to check in a touch early and get settled in for my week in Pasadena. The room itself was beautiful, and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a nice rainfall walk in showerThe pool on the rooftop was a hit - watching the sun go down up there was incredible and the pool itself was sparkling clean and warm. The fitness center offers a spacious weight room and multiple cardio machines. Very clean, and modern. As far as breakfast goes, Norman (I believe his name is - gentleman with glasses and impressive service) rocked the show. He didn’t miss, from giving great suggestions to keeping coffee going - this guy is always moving and is the nicest guy. Sincerely appreciate having this quality of service, it is more and more rare to find. I recommend the Ventanas Breakfast as a base breakfast (eggs, bacon or sausage, breakfast potatoes, toast) or the French toast with bacon or sausage. The French toast itself has a delicious cinnamon swirl in the bread - and they serve it with the freshest berries. I heard the eggs Benedict was good and the breakfast burrito was hearty as well! The price for breakfast was a bit high, for me - but I had breakfast vouchers instead of welcome points and I felt like that was an excellent choice. For the service and the quality, I was very happy.I did not order lunch or dinner and can’t comment on that. You do have to pay for in and out service at the parking garage at the hotel, but it’s very convenient. (Around $22/day)The bar and drinks didn’t wow me, which was a bit of a bummer - as the bar area itself is gorgeous and I could see that area getting a nice little after dinner vibe - but, when I asked about specialty cocktails it was not encouraging…so I went with a margarita and a cosmo. Neither was exceptional. The outdoor patio was wonderful with a gas fire with seating and further out, a large fountain area with seating. The location of the hotel itself is also pretty ideal for work, as I was in for an event by the Rose Bowl! 9 -12 minute drive through beautiful neighborhoods.Overall, I loved my stay. I would certainly recommend visiting - and I will be back!

Comment: Warning: they charge a no-show fee and will apply the fee even if you tried to cancel your reservation!!In September, I made a reservation here for a work trip set to happen in February. I cancelled the reservation by calling the hotel directly in November. My card was then charged with a $212 no show fee in February, on the day my reservation was set to start. Unbeknownst to me, the hotel did not have my email. I never received an email or call about my reservation still being on the books. Yet I was charged a no-show fee, despite the fact that I was sure I had cancelled the reservation months ago.I travel to Pasadena frequently for work and will be sure to avoid this hotel, and will recommend the same to my colleagues.

Comment: Aside from the fact that it’s $19 every time you go in and out of the parking lot each day, they also stole an expensive item of clothing.Left my expensive clothing there and called to let them know but had to wait until the next day to return to pick it up. Somehow housekeeping/lost and found didn’t find it even though it was neatly folded on the bathroom counter when I left. I had one backpack with only 3 pieces of clothing and when I arrived at my next place in west LA I realized I had left this piece at the Westin.Very disappointed in the obvious theft by housekeeping or lost and found.

Comment: Was overall an ok experience. The room nicely furnished if far too dark in lighting and color palette, poor sink design in bathroom. Thermostat allows me to enter a temperature but then doesnt hold it. Assume they override it.Front desk not very helpful at check in, parking overcharged me a night and they were quick to say not my problem vs. trying to fix.Promised e-key never arrived. They have a water machine in lobby that is really just space they have rented to a vendor to try and upsell you.Its ok.

The hotel is showing its age and the rooms are very dated, the beds and pillows feel old, way too used, and slightly smells like mothballs. Also weird stains on the ceiling. The ventilation going on and off all night it was very noisy. A room for supposedly three people but there was only coffee service for one unless somebody wants decaf. I am really surprised at what a disappointing stay this was and trying to understand how this is a 4 star hotel. Definitely not Heavenly Beds.

Comment: Two weeks and still waiting Yuan! How do you loose a reservation, when I have a confirmation email?Ive stayed at this hotel before. Nice place and great location. However, on my most recent trip, which was booked as part of a group, things crashed and burned. Upon check-in the front desk associate (Alissa Paredes) told us they didnt have our reservation. After some additional checking, we found several people in our group who used the same URL, with the same confirmation, had a reservation and were already checked-in, though our reservation was no where to be found. I was told that it was a third party service and there was nothing they could do. Excuse me...your sales people provided us a link, that your hotel uses for reservations, you own that, not me. No apology. No compensation. No offer to help, not even Im sorry though I can get you in tomorrow...just ...next person. Now Im sitting in the lobby with my family at 10pm from out of town, with no place to go without a care from anyone on staff at that Westin. Fortunately, with the help of a few in the group (one of which works for Hilton) we were able to find something not to far.The following day I went back to speak to the manager Yuan to figure things out. His response...that is a third party system we use...we cant control that. Excuse me...that is your problem, not my problem. And AGAIN, no apology. No compensation. No help, BUT he did say he would look into it and call me back. [crickets]Vindication came when I spoke to our group contact and found out, we werent the only ones with the same problem. Apparently there were a few others that experienced the same problem with their reservation existing using the same exact service. Needless to say our group contact was not happy. No ownership, no responsibility, no hospitality and total lack of professionalism.

Comment: Stayed here after going out of town to propose. My only request at the time of booking was a quiet room. The room I was given was straight across from the elevator bank for the floor. All night and day we heard people coming and going and the elevator dings. It was exactly the opposite of my request. When I inquired I was told nothing could be done.I understand these requests can’t always be accommodated but in such a huge hotel there had to have been another room a little further from the elevators than straight across.Besides these issues my stay went well. The rooms well lit and had comfortable beds. The hotel itself is in a great location with tons of restaurants and other places within walking distance.Overall though I wouldn’t stay here again. While the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. I’m just left questioning why with my single request, how I possibly got the exact opposite. The customer service just doesn’t match what I would expect with the price and the Westin name.

Comment: I booked a one night stay through my credit card service in October 2023. When I arrived at the hotel late at night, the front desk told me that the hotel was overbooked and my reservation was cancelled. They had tried to contact my booking agency but got no response, so they didnt give me any notification of the cancellation. While I sat in the lobby scrambling to get another hotel, the front desk told two other guests the same story and sent them away. Overall very disappointed with the service (if any).

Comment: I would rate 0 stars if I could. We payed for a 3 night stay, and the front desk clerk stated we only paid for 2, even after showing them our receipt statement of us paying for 3 nights, they told us we had to leave the hotel a day early. They also would not even print us a receipt on their end saying we only paid for 2 nights… very sketchy! Called the manager the next day and she stated it was an “error” in their system and that they were sorry this happened. I feel very SCAMMED. Because of this I incurred an additional $250 expense to find somewhere else to stay. I would never try staying here ever again.

Comment: I feel bad about posting a two-star review because this place shouldn’t be that low. It has a very good location and some wonderful staff members. But it has too many issues. First, we waited almost an hour in a line of almost 60 people to check in. There were only two desk clerks for half that time until a third finally joined. The reason we were given for this delay: a Coldplay concert at the Rose Bowl. Really? An event in town — the very reason people come to a location and reserve a hotel room — is enough to cause such a delay? Next, it took a long time and two trips to the front desk to get our mobile key to function. Next, for half of our two night/three day stay we had no access to WiFi. The hotel acknowledged it was their problem and that they were having to wait on someone to come and fix it (the front desk admitted they’d had been having WiFi problems for a long time). Next, we went to the restaurant for dinner and the dining room was a mess — tables without chairs (they’d been moved elsewhere in the room), tables that hadn’t been cleaned, food on the floor, and two people who were both the bartenders and the servers. The result was a long delay in being served. These kinds of problems suggest the hotel is seriously understaffed. As for the food and drink, for the first time in my experience I had to return a cocktail because it was undrinkable. I asked for a bowl of tortilla soup but was told they were out of it, at 6:30pm. The food we did get was a two-star experience. Our room service food the next morning was very good and the service was prompt. I admit, however, that we’re still adjusting to supposedly top flight hotels serving room service food in paper bags and plastic containers with plastic utensils (a pandemic related change that apparently isn’t going away). As for the room, it was clean and comfortable, but it was showing some neglect — the enamel in the bathtub was chipping away, there was a small tear and a couple of small stains on the sheets, and the decor was very austere. While not a big deal, the hotel gift shop had been turned into a storage room. When we checked out our car was promptly brought up but the only valet had the key locked up while he was retrieving other cars. So we waited beside our car for some time before we could open and load it. Again, apparent understaffing. The one thing that keeps me from considering this to be a one-star experience is the staff. They were wonderful people who were trying their best to help us. Next time we go to Pasadena, we’ll stay elsewhere.

Comment: The check-in process took an astonishing 2.5 hours, primarily due to the hotel being understaffed. Although they blamed a sold-out night before, it’s clear that staffing is the core issue. I’d recommend exploring other top-tier options in the area.

They arent supercharged, but if you park overnight your vehicle will charge completely and be ready to go. The room service was good and the food was amazing. I had the pasta which was delicious and the calamari as well. Their drinks were good too. As always hotel food/drinks is overpriced but the food was worth it. The staff was attentive when I needed assistance and the location of the hotel is a few minutes from one Colorado which is the place to be for things to do. You can walk, Uber or drive.

Comment: I have stayed at this place Almost one week a month for the past few years for work. They are wonderful. The location is perfect. It’s a very walkable area. The rooms are a little dated but they’re working to improve. I love this place but prices do have large fluctuations.

Comment: Rooms are a bit dated, but I had the executive King and it was nice enough. I ask for a high floor on my profile but was put on the 4th right outside the pool and gym area. Bedding was exceptional, air conditioner was working properly. Not having a member lounge dings this place a bit, but they did offer breakfast coupons for my lifetime platinum status.Solid location for closeness to Old Pasadena walking, parking is cludgey and contractor based so no in and put on your room key.Id stay again if I was specifically targeting Pasadena, but would try other higher end Marriott properties first.

Comment: Great location and walking distance around old time Pasadena shops and restaurants. The hotel is clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The bathroom counter space are too small and I’m not a fan of pocket doors for bathroom usage. For the price to stay at the Westin in Pasadena there is no TV streaming capabilities, which would be a basic item for a hotel of this level.

Comment: Well located for walking to Pasadena restaurants. Great lobby library room for working/meeting. Rooftop pool is gorgeous as is the well equipped and stylish gym. (gym has 2 Peleton bikes, free weights, mats, equipment and much more). Rooms are dated and several notches of quality below other Westin properties. I understand that plumbing is expensive to upgrade, but you should really consider updating your shower faucets. Mine was loose/wobbly, temperature control was challenging, the screw holding it together was exposed, and it was difficult to turn off the water. Restaurant service was great for breakfast and lunch and the terrace is an oasis.

Comment: My room was fine. The bed is clearly not new. Theres some sort of topper to make up for the age. While updates seemed to have been made, the toilet was weird when it comes to water saving. The wallpaper in the bathroom seemingly was cut to deal with some issue, then never repaired. The tub was outdated with a curtain closure that, if you dont know how to seal it properly, could lead to water all over the floor (something someone else I knew that was staying there didnt account for, but I had experience with in the past) causing a lack of towels and the unattractive Vanity damage. The restaurant breakfast was less than average and not worth the price. But the service was really amazing, so I dont like to leave something like this. Seriously, the ham steak? Is just a slice of ham. Thats not a steak. I can get a friggin ham steak at Sprouts for 1/5 the cost. If youre going to tout a ham steak? Know that it isnt simply a slice that goes on a sandwich. Its a piece that is 1/4 thick already. The hotel is conveniently located, the elevators were relatively quick, the pool isnt heated and the seating is limited but the cabanas are first come, first served for guests. I also enjoyed the gym.

Comment: Absolutely horrible hotel. Got to the hotel and they couldnt even check me in until 8:00 p.m., claimed a larger group was leaving. Then, the room was absolutely filthy (see pics), large stringy hair in the shower and on the walls, makeup on the pillow cases and the bed, actual finger prints on the wall. What is that black stuff on the bathroom walls? Room-keeping had to come in at 11:00 at night to re-clean the room. I asked for a quiet room, got stuck in a corner sandwiched between two others, and the door handles/ locks are extremely loud, and you can hear the noise from the street below. Not even slightly quiet, got no sleep my entire stay. Then, the AC broke. Twice. They are woefully understaffed, everything is filthy. Not the workers fault, they just dont have enough people to keep up. The only decent part of this hotel is the location, close to restaurants. Honestly will never come back here, avoid Westins at all costs. Good luck if you do, hope it will be better than my stay.

Comment: The Westin Pasadena claims to be an upscale hotel. It is anything but that. The checking process resulted in the room not being ready well beyond the 3:00 p.m. checkin time. The front desk said they would call when it was ready. They did not call. I asked for some form of compensation which they refused to consider. The next morning I called for my car from the room but no one answered. I then called the front desk but no one answered. I went downstairs and no one was at the front desk or valet. The place is poorly run and unresponsive to guests essentials needs. I asked for the name of the general manager and to be connected to their office. No one knew the name or number of this individual. This has been a disappointment and certainly not upscale.

Comment: We had to wait almost an hour and half to check into our room when check in is supposed to be at 3pm. They charge 19$ for parking and wouldnt even cover it so we could get dinner while we waited for our room to be ready. We finally got a room at almost 10:15pm, and the refrigerator didnt even work. All in all for the price definitely not worth it.

Comment: Not the Westin I knew from pre - COVID days. Feels lifeless, the rooms are in need of upgrading, there is dust in the corners, breakfast is a rip off - not too different from what you might get for free at the Hampton inn. The service staff are really nice - friendly and responsive. 10-15 minutes walk from downtown. Not worth the premium - stay at a lower end property in the area for the same or better experience.

Comment: The carpet needs to be replaced. I initially had a room on the fourth floor, the room smelled so bad I didn’t even step into it. The next room was on the fifth floor, also smelled. I sanitized, sprayed with Lysol and opened the windows. Thank goodness they actually open. The air in the room was stiff at night and did not circulate well. The beds were terrible. I have stayed at this hotel on higher floors and the beds were comfortable. There should be more consistency in the experience. This location is not what it used to be.

Comment: My experience was phenomenal. From the minute you come in with Valet service. To the lobby we’re treated like royalty. Estella Flores was extraordinary. She was professional and very helpful. Our rooms were perfect 🤩. The building is gorgeous. They have a pool on the 4th with great views to the mountains 🏔️ and some historic buildings too. Sergio on the 4th floor the bartender made us some exquisite drinks. He was also very professional and attentive. The only down side was that he had to go to a different level (floor) to finish his orders ( drinks). The hotel needs to build a more complete bar upstairs. But everything else was extraordinary. Their breakfast was extraordinary. Will definitely recommend this to everybody searching for a fabulous vacation.

Comment: Positives:Clean hotel, very friendly service in the restaurant (they are all nice employees).Valet parking is easy and professional and outside gardens and water spouts are nice ambience.Negatives:1. Crazy HIGH breakfast price tag of $41 for just me and I ordered 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage and coffee (not even any toast)! This is so uncalled for.2. No smart T.Vs which means no Netflix to relax and watch at night. If you want to rent a movie from the hotel channel its a SUPER CRAZY $26.99 per movie. Why???3. No complimentary coffee or tea or snacks to purchase in the lobby. They only have complimentary water in plastic cups.*****This could be a very nice competive hotel if they work on the little things. Breakfast should only cost $15 at best.Marriott Courtyard has them beat with the little comfort things right now.

Comment: We used to come here for “Staycations” every summer but it seems like they are now not even trying. The service is bad, they filled the hot tub with concrete and now it has two large planters in its place. Fun.It’s feels like a hotel who’s staff knows the whole place is about to close down and they don’t care if they’re fired. And it’s not just us, our friends from out of town had their own terrible time, separate from ours.We will never come here again. Even though it’s the same company (Bonvoy) we much prefer our the Courtyard Marriott on Fair Oaks. It’s also a very short walk to the good part of old town Pasadena. The surroundings at the Westin are cold, corporate and uninviting.

Comment: A fantastic hotel with a lovely pool and gym are. The staff was great and the room was excellent. Staff upgraded my room for having gold status. The only massive issue is the towels. They are all different types and they are all terrible. I asked for about 10 towels, and they were either worn, non-absorbant, or just plain rough and thin. PLEASE invest in some proper towels to match the hotel quality.

Comment: May 2023: The hotel lives up to its current 4.3 star rating. It is an old building. If you look closely enough, you can tell. Even so, it is very well maintained. The staff was helpful and friendly. My room was clean and quiet. I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights; I never heard anyone on the floor above me.This will be my default for my LA County sites. I already have my next nights booked.Edit (01 Jun 2023): It greatly depends on the room they give you. The first time I stayed, the room was great. There were no issues with my mobile key. The second time, I had to go to the lobby to get my room and have my mobile key activated. The room (the shower in particular) was subpar and not becoming of a 4-star establishment (last 5 photos). The hotel staff told me that they are still renovating their rooms. It is unfortunate that I had one of lesser quality.

Comment: My stay here has been nothing but trouble. I booked a king bedroom, and they claimed that I had booked a 2 queen bedroom. I showed them my confirmation for the king bedroom, and they tell me that the king bedroom was not guaranteed through third party booking. I’m extremely frustrated at this situation, because it sounds to me that they overbooked their hotel at my expense. They gave me the queen bedroom and tell me it’s the same cost. They give me the option to move to another bedroom the next day, but it’s inconvenient as I would have to spend a better part of my day making this move when I have plans for the day. Not only did I not get a resolution, but I am being lied to. I am so frustrated with this hotel. There are plenty of better hotels in the area. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

Comment: We were checked in and out by the friendly and helpful staff. Very pleasant to deal with. This location is literally walking distance from Downtown Pasadena and the convention center. This place is a magnificent thing to see when youre just out walking on a wonderful night or a tourist in the area. Walking was one of my favorite things about this place. Great restaurants within walking distance and one on site. The Pasadena streets outside tend to sparkle like glitter makeup at night. Quite perfect for facebook or Instagram. Mark and the rest of the valet were great, quick, and efficient. We didnt have to move the vehicle much all weekend. We just walked across the street to everything. Our room was clean and smelled fresh. As we were checking out, we stopped downstairs to see if they had breakfast. The restaurant and Norman were outstanding. I cant thank him enough for going above and beyond so that I could have coffee and danish. The maids were fantastic. I dont think that Ive ever had better service anywhere. The staff here are wonderful and wont hesitate to help anyone. Great teamwork . Keep up the good work. This is also a great hotel to host your wedding if youre in need of finding a good location. We have been here before and It has always been a great experience. Their service exceeds expectations! This will definitely be our go to hotel when we are in Pasadena.

Restaurant opened till 11p and staff friendly. Rooms clean, great place to stay. Only minor criticism is their toiletries. Whenever I stay at a Westin, I always look forward to their White Tea shampoo, conditioner and body soap. Seems like this place is replacing that with a lower class soap version seem in lower tier facilities like the Marriott Courtyard.

Comment: Was looking forward to my stay at the Westin Pasadena. Unfortunately, due to weather my flight to California was cancelled and I was unable to make it to the hotel for that evening. I requested a refund through my travel agency over 24 hours prior to check in due to this unforeseen circumstance and the Westin was not cooperative. Im very disappointed that they would value a one night stays rate over helping out a customer in a tough spot. The hotel looks great and I was excited to visit but after this will no longer be staying at Westin hotels.

Comment: Update as of 2/04/23: I have contacted the hotel 6 times since Dec 2022. I have provided my contact info for the General Manager to contact me. I have NOT received any calls regarding this issue. Truly horrible service.WORST staff EVER! We unfortunately stayed here from 11/4-11/6/22 during our WEDDING WEEKEND. We booked the Presidential Suite ($2,400 a night with fees) and the Rose Suite (approx $850 a night with fees). I booked these rooms 9 months in advance in preparation for the wedding. I also requested several blocked rooms for my guests.Prior to check in, I had been communicating with a sales rep by the name of Stephanie Chan. Booking the rooms was no problem, however there seemed to be an abundance of miscommunication between the sales department and the regular hotel staff. First of all, everyone had different information. I called the morning of check in (11/4) and was informed my room would definitely be ready by 3pm, as the hotel was aware this was for a wedding. I needed a room for myself to get ready for the rehearsal+dinner which would take place at a church nearby at 4pm sharp. I did not ask for early check in, I knew that might be a stretch. So, I was perfectly fine with the advertised check in time listed on the Westin website, which is 3pm.I arrived at 2:45pm. Upon check in, the Rose Suite (used for family) was ready. Great! What was not so great was the Presidential Suite was NOT ready. The staff at front desk informed me that the cleaning staff was ACTIVELY CLEANING THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE - which would be ready at 3:15pm. Ok fine, 15 mins delay. I waited and waited. I called at 3:15pm from my familys suite (who I had no intention of bunking with). The front desk NOW told me the Presidential Suite WAS STILL OCCUPIED BY THE PREVIOUS GUEST! So I guess lying to guests here at the Westin Pasadena is standard service, because thats what occurred.I spoke with the manager Natalie. She apologized but was no help. Natalie told me they had called the guest several times asking him to leave but he didnt answer. So what did they do? APPARENTLY NOTHING because the Presidential Suite that costs more than $2k a night was not ready until after 5pm. I informed Natalie that this was of no help to me, as I had nowhere to get ready for my own rehearsal dinner. They did not offer any solutions for me, instead tried to give me a free breakfast coupon (which we did not use) and a bottle of cheap red wine (which was also not consumed). Natalie fully admitted they were aware of my needs and the situation, did nothing. They stranded myself and my wedding party, deprived us of the room we needed and FULLY PAID FOR. Natalie said she would fully inform the incoming night manager, Renee of the situation. Later that night, we were finally able to enter the Presidential Suite. The manager Renee called my room. To make matters worse, there was NO HOT WATER! I let the shower run for over 15 minutes on hot--nothing. I called the front desk, they again apologized. At this point, I felt like this was intentional. I spoke with Renee, I said you know Ive had a horrible experience so far and I would really just like to shower with hot water. Renee said Im sorry maam but this is the first Im hearing of your bad experience, can you elaborate? THE SAME MANAGER WHO CALLED TO CHECK ON ME TO ENSURE I WAS OK AN HOUR AGO . he told me she would send a maintenance worker immediately.THIS WAS A LIE!!!! The maintenance man took 1hr to arrive. Mind you, this was 11:30pm at night. The night before my wedding.I let it go. It was Saturday - my wedding day. All my bridesmaids were getting ready in the room. 9am comes, a knock on the door was heard. A maintenance worker with a cart barges in without being called or invited/permitted to enter. He states he was here to fix the hot water. I was LIVID -- a room full of young women half dressed... AND A STRANGER ENTERS UNANNOUNCED! We asked to speak with the GM. 3 months later, GM still hasnt called.

Comment: We were traveling for pleasure and selected this named brand hotel in Pasadena assuming how can we be wrong! Looking at the pictures on the website the hotel looked great! However, when we finally got to the hotel (we were delayed and reached there by 11:30PM - and we gave them a heads up around 4PM that we will be delayed) the lobby assigned us this room. This room was (if my memory serves well) in the third floor facing the street. The room was smelly. I went down and asked the lobby host for any other room. We were told, as we bought through Expedia (TravelEuro) we were assigned a room that is at the bottom most category. We did not know that we should avoid going with Expedia. So we reluctantly accepted the room. However, then we realized that the roof looked like asbestos ceiling, Fire Alarm looks ancient (picture attached - code recommends replacement every 10 years), getting hot water was a trick (see picture) the knob to pull out would not come out. In the morning, I wanted to press my white shirt and to my horror the provided iron (shown in the picture) would have ruined my shirt. The door when we tried to lock before we went to bed is broken (see attached picture) so we could not even lock the door. If you are looking for some decent hotel, you are better off going to another hotel and not go by Westin name.

Comment: I’m a Titanium member who has spent nearly 125 nights and $20K at Marriott properties this year. But it’s people like front desk supervisor Renee Murphy who make me question whether I should move my business to Hilton or Hyatt. We arrived at 3 pm ready to check in before the USC vs UCLA game. I booked a room with 2 beds and she said our room was not ready.Renee offered to move me into 1 bed but I was traveling with my sister so we need 2 beds. Renee acted as if she was doing me a favor by offering me a room with 1 bed. Are you kidding me? The room a guest books should be guaranteed ready at check in. Especially from your most loyal guests. She eventually called me at 4:19 pm to tell me the room is ready, 79 minutes after check in. What was worse is that when I finally came back to the hotel after the game she acted as if the room being ready at 4:19 pm was totally acceptable. If she had just accepted fault and apologized, I would’ve been satisfied. Somebody like that shouldn’t be representing the Marriott brand.

Comment: Other than some slightly nicer materials in the rooms and common areas that are now becoming run-down, its basically like a poorly run and extremely overpriced La Quinta or Best Western. It seems like youre mostly paying for nice light fixtures. The hotel clearly advertises room service on their official website, but they dont have it. Keep in mind this is up to $600 a night for a standard hotel room on weekends. I dont normally use room service, but we chose this hotel partly because we had a hectic situation with a newborn baby and room service sure would have been useful. We didnt realize there was no service until hours later when wed fully settled in.And for upwards of $300-$600 per night you get cheap cracked tiles and rusted fixtures in the bathroom like an old Motel 6 (see pictures), the bathroom door was installed poorly and gets severely jammed in the closed position, peeling warped wood veneers, cheap worn out hardware installed improperly with exposed drywall screws. The TV system is ancient and many of the standard cable channels are not even high definition (in 2022?!), and theres no program guide or HBO. There was absolutely no information in room about the hotels amenities, no card, its not on the TV menus, I couldnt find it on their website. The front desk area was unmanned about 1/3 of the time when I went down for something, although I found that there is actually always somebody there in the offices in the back messing around on the computer or phone when the front desks were empty. Theres a door on the left behind the front desk, and I encourage you to knock loudly on that door or just peek into the offices if the front desk is empty, because youll find somebody there to help you immediately rather than standing around like an idiot. One of the main reasons we stayed here was because we thought it would be quiet, and it mostly was, but only because we were lucky that the hotel floor was largely empty. The one night somebody was staying next door, I could hear the phone, TV, and coughing very clearly, so it does not have good sound insulation. The internet service didnt work because they severely misspelled my name (used as the password), even though my name is only 6 letters and they copied it from my drivers license. I asked for help getting the internet working but they couldnt figure it out. I was the one who finally figured out they had misspelled my name after doing without internet for a day.I never could get their email receipt system to work despite telling them the email address multiple times, having them resend it, and checking my spam folder.

We walked to a great restaurant called The Union & a wine bar called Monopole. We ended the evening out at the fireplace. I ordered a glass of wine, he said Merlot, Cabernet or Pinot. I said Pinot. Oh gosh, awful AND $18 glass of wine. I do not recommend them for a nightcap.

Comment: This hotel was the best. Clean, cool, comfy bed & pillows, a deep soaking tub in bathroom, and a good view of City Hall. You can crack open the window for a little California breeze. It’s close to the Metro Gold line and tons of restaurants in Old Pasadena. I was able to check in an hour early, no questions asked, so I’d say staff is excellent. I took a dip in the pool - it is a small pool but love that it’s on the rooftop.

Comment: First time in the US and a great choice of places to base myself. Dinner on my first night was fantastic, although the Blue Moon beer was not brilliant. It was trying to emulate Leffe and had the smell but not the taste. Very lovely large room with lovely soft towels, great comfortable bed, soft sheets. Bottles of ice cold water in the fridge were very welcome. I would recommend the Westin.

Comment: Top to bottom trash can hotel. Be wary, they lure you in with smiles and nice attitudes, then deliver sewage smelling rooms, which they try to cover with air fresher, squeaky beds, and then make you think theyll accommodate you at check out, and they dont! They gave me a discounted upgrade fee for a suite (that was already empty) and they used that as justification as to why the sewage smell was OK! AWFUL. The only shining start is the hotel restaurant which had wonderful service and food/ drinks, especially Norman and Cesar. They were excellent! The rest was absolutely awful. Would never stay here again and working on disputing the charges to get funds back. Stay away!!

Comment: Worst hotel expetience i have had... except for the guy who checked us in, the staff was very dismissive of all questions and unhelpful... left my car with valet parking around midnight on friday, when i requested the car on sunday morning it was delivered damaged... someone hit it; the parking staff provided data from the other driver, but like the hotel staff they were dismissive of our questions; tried to talk to the valet supervisor twice and on both ocassions he failed to show up as promised... national car rental accepted the damaged car but i am sure that is not the end of this bad experience. :(the hotel is conveniently located near old town pasadena.

Comment: Our room was tiny, like New York tiny, where we had to unpack on the desk, and squeeze over to access the closet and coffee. They do not have in-room dining for breakfast - for a business-class hotel, that seems pretty unusual. The restaurant for breakfast was understaffed and very slow to clear off used tables outside or to take our order. Would avoid - not representative of Westin brand.

Comment: It was an ok stay overall. Both the suite and room we rented were very nice. I loved how nice and big the bathrooms were! Customer service and billing issues at checkout put a damper on the weekend, when we found out they put everyone’s valet charges to our room and billed wrong, amongst other issues.

Comment: After my stay at the hotel, I reviewed my bill and found that I was mistakenly charged for Valet Parking, even though I paid for self parking.Ive called the Westin Pasadena twice to try and resolve this. In both instances, theyve confirmed that I indeed didnt use the Valet service, and promised to forward the case to the finance department. However, theres been no further followups, and my credit card charges still include the valet parking subtotal. If youre staying here, I would suggest to review your hotel bill during checkout carefully. Youll have a hard time getting your money back otherwise.

Comment: No hot water! I would not be unhappy if the staff communicated properly. Mechanical failures happen. However, twice, the front desk told us they would call the room and would give us an estimate of how long it would take to fix the hot water issue but did not bother to call. The front desk person was impatient and for sure did never even bother to say sorry.

Comment: Avoid at all cost. Ive stayed in this hotel perhaps 15-20 nights in the last 2 years. Ive spent thousands of dollars at this specific Westin hotel. I had an absolutely horrific experience there. Quality has gone down, the staff that is there during the day is wonderful, including the security of the hotel who previously helped me with a printer. I also know the ladies who work there during the day. However I had the misfortune of engaging with the night staff, what appears to be an East Indian security guard, and an overweight Caucasian gentleman, not sure where you found, or who trained these individuals, but they will be the demise of your hotel. After what happened to me last night I will never step foot in a Westin hotel again. I will not give more details here, but it has been a truly vile and abusive experience, that should shame any establishment that says they are in the hospitality business. Super unprofessional, and ugly energy, when I communicated I would be filing a complaint due to the guard conduct they escalated the situation. I wish i could get every dollar of my hard earned money I spent at that hotel back, but for sure I will never step foot over there again.Ps: after writing my review I went and read the reviews from other guests. Clearly I am not the only person who had a bad experience. I tried to get I touch with the manager all at the next day unsuccessfully. I finally connected with her at 7pm, she first told me the “night staff didn’t mean to do what they did”. When I told her do you realized how abusive thy were. The manager Told me “I’m banned from the hotel”, and hung up on me. The entire conversation lasted less than a minute: truly pathetic establishment. They don’t deserve to use the world hospitality not sure where they find the savages who work at this hotel:::: Never will see a dime of my money again.

Comment: My husband and I enjoyed the Westin Pasadena. We are Titanium members and about to reach Platinum for life. They upgraded us to a fantastic suite, with a great balcony. We also paid for my father-in-law’s room with our points and the hotel even upgraded his room. . The food and service at the restaurant was really good. The hotel is also quite generous for the breakfast stipend they give a Titanium member. My husband and I really appreciate the fact that they gave really nice upgrades to both rooms and gave a nice breakfast stipend. The fact that the hotel did this makes us feel appreciated for our loyalty as a Titanium member. The reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because my husband and I noticed that we were given misinformation a few times, and this shouldn’t happen in a nice hotel, employees that work at a nice hotel like the Westin should be well-informed. Other than the misinformation factor, our stay was fantastic! I know my husband and I will be returning to the Westin Pasadena when the opportunity presents itself.

Comment: We really enjoyed our stay. However, there were a couple of issues. The restroom has no exhaust fan, and the AC wont cool below 76 degrees. Even when the thermostat is set lower it clicks off well above the set temperature. The windows are also thin and you can hear people talking on the street even 8 floors up.That said, the staff was very friendly, the location beautiful, and the pool and gym were excellent.

Comment: Stayed for a weekend, it was a decent experience.Had a couple rooms booked, so the connecting room was great. Beds comfortable, mini fridge was useful for storing stuff.Rooftop pool was alright.. not very deep and felt surrounded by concrete so not really much ambiance. That said, the kids had a great time cooling off and if you can snag one of the cabana style areas all the better. Gym was pretty nice here too.. a couple Peloton bikes too. 🚲I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay here, but it was a decent stay.

Comment: I stayed at this hotel last weekend for my kids soccer camp. I was unsure about staying here because of the mixed reviews. Upon arrival late at night, I noticed the pull-out couch had a necklace and a bottle of water left on it. When entering the bathroom, the shower was not cleaned and the toilet had gummy stuff on it. This entire experience was really disturbing, and due to having kids and the lateness of the evening, I couldnt move rooms.By the way, the pull-out sofa was really uncomfortable. In the morning, they promised to clean the room when we left. They also took care of my valet parking. However, the manager was supposed to get my food bill corrected and she stated she would be calling me back. She never did. It has been three days.Besides the unfortunate circumstance, the room was nice with a view. The hotel was in an ideal location. Great pool and gym. Its a historic hotel with incredible architectural features. The cafe menu is limited with limited service. My husband tried to get another drink at the bar and left frustrated because there was only one person serving all of the guests. It looks like they are still struggling to recover from COVID staff shortages.

Comment: Possibly the best service Ive ever had at a hotel. The rooms could be cleaner (dusty) and some paint was peeling/chipping but overall nice. The pool area has great views and the outdoor seating area at the restaurant is beautiful especially when the fires are all lit. The restaurant wasnt my favorite but there are plenty of other options nearby, and its a gorgeous walk through reflection pools and a sculpture filled garden to the Paseo, capitol building, convention center, and lots of mid to upscale shopping/dining.

Comment: Easy access to the freeway. Updated rooms in an older hotel building. Some of the cabinets had squeaky hinges and the fridge was a bit noisy. They had an outdoor fire pit next to their bar/restaurant. No hot tub unfortunately but there was a pool and a decent work out room with equipment. The parking situation is kind of lame, its a paid parking garage. It can get a little annoying especially if your visit has you coming and going for business. Overall friendly staff.

Comment: Nice hotel right in Pasadena. You do not need a car if you dont need to leave Pasadena because it is easily walkable to everything. I will say that the room was a little bit underwhelming especially when it comes to Westin standards. A bit untidy (toilet was dirty, old lotion bottles on the floor) and a bit unkempt (the curtains were off track and needed to be repaired). Other than that it was a good stay.

This one certainly does in the employee break room because if it was up to Lealiz they did not have one. Then upon extending my stay and paying for my room another day Lealiz had my key access removed and refused to allow me into my room until I paid a second deposit of $100 for incidentals despite the fact that they were still holding $100 already. I am a gold elite Marriot Bonvoy guest member meaning that I stay at thier properties quite often and am entitled to certain accomodations nevertheless Lealiz lied about her specific position with the hotel was incredibly rude and treated me as if the hotel did not need or appreciate my business.

I was so perturbed I didnt even complain whiles we where there. I called a day later and was told by the clerk the power was off for less than a min...an absolute lie. But not worthy the rate compared to other premium Marriott hotel.$17 self parking without in and out.$22 valet parking with in and out.Pro-1. Good location, closer to old town Pasadena, and shopping center nearby2. Lobby is pretty with beautiful library.3. Bedding was comfortable.Con-1. The restroom was old and dirty not like the photo from website.2. Lack on cleaning🤢. Dirty towel with bunch of hair (easy to see when hk folding them). Mold everywhere in the restroom on the ceiling and sink.Shower curtain was smelly.3. Housekeeper training. 10am in the morning, a house keeper only knock in the door one time only, and opened the door within 5 seconds wait. 12pm was the check out time) She saw my language and said nothing just closed the door then left. And I could hear she kept doing the same to other rooms. Then she started cleaning my neighborhood it was extremely load and I kept getting shock by the load noise from her.4. Lack of amenities:No rope, even it showed available on both Marriott app and website. No body wash, only one bar soap.5. Comment: Centrally located to the restaurants, city hall, shops, and freeways. This location is beautiful and well maintained grounds. Valet parking is $22/day, or self park and walk for $17/day. There are no in and outs. Once you drive off you have to pay the fee again. The issue I had was I booked several rooms for our wedding on a Saturday check-in. When we checked out of one room they checked us out of all of the rooms. So, we were in our room half naked and another guest walked in. I screamed and asked how he got into the room! He said with the key. We told him we were in the room until Monday, and this happened on Sunday. The gentleman left upset and we called the front desk and went downstairsto speak to someone. The front desk needs to make sure they do not double book a room and do not check out all rooms when someone checks out of one. Note: there are no microwaves in the room. You can dine in the Veranda restaurant onsite for breakfast and wifi is not free.

Comment: I wasnt very impressed with the room we had in this hotel. I was there with a group and I also heard the same from others. The room is very dark. We literally had to turn on every light in the room and it was still not bright enough. The is a very thin cover on the bed with two sheets between. I realize this is a trend with most hotels Ive been in lately, but if you like to sleep in a cool room, you will be too cold. There needs to be extra blankets in the closet or a thicker covering on the bed to begin with. The pillows were not very comfortable either, and look nice and fluffy when you first look at the bed, but when trying to decide which pillow I needed for my head and neck, the one I chose actually became very flat. The pillowcase was tucked it to make it look like a nice pillow but then when the tucking became undone, there was practically nothing to the pillow. The bathroom did not have enough towels for two people. Only one set, and when I asked the maid for another set, she didnt even give me the bath sheet, so I was left to dry myself off with the smaller towel. The hairdryer had no attachments to it, not even the piece that directs the air to one section. There are not enough hooks or towel bars to hang the towels and no storage space underneath the sink for my own toiletries. Thank goodness I brought them, because they didnt even have a shower cap or q-tips. Just soap and lotion. There are dispensers in the shower of shampoo and conditioner. There is no makeup mirror, so thankfully, I brought my own. Very disappointed in this hotel. A Westin should be held to higher standards than what we experienced. Years ago, I used to love staying at Westin hotels, but now I find the Hilton Garden Inn to be much better and they offer all of the things that were missing from my review.

It has a large gym and a swimming pool on the 4th floor. Nice but not complementary breakfast and will set you back another $20 depending on what you get if you decide to breakfast in. Comment: Front desk staff was very kind and attentive. Room was great, as were the housekeeping staff. The only frustrations were that the ice machines on nearly every floor were either broken or missing (plus no map or signs telling where they were located), the restaurant/bar is closed after breakfast and reopens at dinner (so, no lunch or beverage service). We went to the pool, only to discover no services there, tried to get drinks at the restaurant to bring to the pool, but it was closed, then tried to get ice and bring our own beverages, but no working ice makers could be found. The Front Desk was kind enough to go all the way to the closed restaurant to get us ice and a bucket, then provided water and soda for us!Wed definitely stay here again, but will be more aware of the small issues.

Comment: Nice location, lobby clean but so sad that we stayed there two nights and did not get the room cleaned once. Paid full price due to Pandemic over $200 per night. It was hot and muggy while we toured multiple colleges in Los Angeles for my daughter to attend. We got back at 9:30 PM and the room was not touched. No towels no bedding nothing cleaned or restocked. This did not ruin our trip but really put a damper on what could have been our first vacation after the Covid lockdown.Font desk was responsive when we needed clean towels that night and said the manager would contact us. No contact was made. We had to visit other colleges in San Diego and Santa Anna and did not have this type of issue at a 4-star Hotel, not a motel. If this was a one-off event why was the room skipped two times?Brian

Comment: To start we had to change rooms a few times for wrong accommodations and foul pet odor lingering in the rooms. The pillows were flat and had no fluff to them, in the room we final got into you weren’t able to change the thermostat to get a comfortable temp to be able to rest comfortably, especially with my two younger children. The following morning we asked for house keeping and other hygiene products... we never received them. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, this was a HORRIBLE stay. Comment: Customer service could have been more customer-oriented by answering questions about parking honestly and looking out for the customer. Upon arrival with two vehicles (one of which needed a 9’ clearance and we were told we would have to drive around the hanging sign in the garage in order to park), we were told hotel guests could park in the garage for $17/night per car. We asked the valet attendant about any other cheaper parking options around the hotel, for example what’s that huge lot right next to the hotel? She said didn’t know (yeah right I’m sure we haven’t been the first to ask in her time working there). So we decided to drive around and look for other parking. We found some street parking right on the other side of the hotel that seemed like we could park there free overnight (and it was Sunday and it seemed free on Sundays) and called the hotel to verify that we could park there. The guy answered and said multiple times we could park in the garage but skirted around our questions about free street parking. He even said street parking required a permit to try to get us to give up and pay the hotel parking garage fee. After asking several specific questions (like if the sign does not say a permit is required, is it still required?) he finally relented and said it should be fine to park there. Both employees were not thinking of the customer and tried to get us to think the only options were paid partaking garage or spaces that required a parking permit from the city. The hotel floor and room also smelled like weed. It gets 3 stars for having a clean room and waters in the refrigerator.

Comment: Not so happy with this hotel. Location is good and the price is not bad. Rooms are small but relatively clean and the checkin was ok.Free WiFi is limited and you are encouraged to pay an extra $12 a day for a decent speed-why?Parking is extra and a nightmare to self park. Just about all the slots are compact except the valet area which is big and empty, and of course closer to the hotel entrance. You also have to pay extra for using your car during the day, why?My last beef is on the dining menu. Their web site clearly states the on-site restaurant is open and has a full menu. This was one of the reasons we booked the hotel. In practice, there is a restricted menu of 4 or 5 items and these are only available in a plastic takeout box. This has nothing to do with COVID restrictions, if there are no decent food options available at the hotel because of the virus, then state just that. Much better than cheating your customers into thinking something different. Our bathroom also has the lovely aroma of someone smoking weed elsewhere in the hotel. Great! Not happy.

Comment: At check in I was told by the hotel staff that I would be about to have a 1pm check the next day. Day of my check out comes I call in the morning again to confirm my late checkout for 1pm. The staff tells me nothing was noted from the previous staff member. I say ok thats fine as long as I still have my 1pm check out. I left in the morning to get breakfast when I returned to my room it has been cleaned and some of my items had been thrown out as well. The room was made as if I had already checked out. I’m very disappointed especially for this being such a reputable establishment or so I thought. Spoke to several different staff members who pretty much stated there was nothing they could do. Very upsetting

Comment: The hotel was beautiful, great location. The room was another story, we had what appeared to be dry blood on the ceiling, headboard etc.... when we brought it to management’s attention the manager on site was unapologetic and didn’t seem to care at all. Pictures are not the best but you get the idea. Hotel rooms are always questionable but won’t stay here again.

Comment: Very nice hotel that includes an extremely overpriced restaurant, valet service, and daily parking. There was a refrigerator and coffee maker with complimentary coffee, but no microwave in the room we stayed. The staff are all Awesome and understanding ❣️ The closest food store is an AM/PM across the street which is Very convenient. And theres a $5.00 a day parking lot around the corner on the next street over, in case you cant afford the $24.00 a day parking in The Westin garage. The price for the room is Very reasonable, only $128.00 and the beds are SO Comfortable!

Comment: The hotel was very beautiful!! The rooms were super clean, and staff was super super friendly even though we are in this pandemic! We were in town for a couple days and the stay was very pleasant!! The elevator situation is a bit weird to most bc its the workers elevators, but it still gets you to were you need to go!!! Had food delivered to the hotel with no problems either! Definitely recommend staying here if youre in the area!! Thanks

Comment: I gave this hotel 2 stars because I know the potential the property has and is currently well beneath. I have lived in Pasadena all my life and have seen this property change over the years. It has always been one of the more upscale places and recently well Im just not sure what happened. From the incredibly rude front desk clerk with the dry sense of humor ( or is it an attempt at sarcasm) to the sole elevators that are in operation being the see ice elevators leaving you stepping off into a run down industrial space on each floor to the loud hotel guests that seem to frequent this hotel nightly, this hotel has really fallen from the grace and upscale poise it once held. Long gone are the pricey reservations for privileged participants of the Breeders Cup. Wonder what AAA rating they will get this year? Where did the spa go? Is it all to blame on Covid? Well that remains to be seen as my calls to the hotel to inquire have all gone unanswered.

We had to check out a day early unfortunately but they had no problem accommodating us. All staff was top notch. Can’t wait to come back! :)

Comment: I really liked the layout of This Westin in Pasadena. The room was comfortable. The hotel was nice. It has an excellent gym facility, complete with an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, and towles (all of which I did utilize during this stay). There are nearby restaurants, as well as one located inside of the hotel lobby. The two reasons I chose to rate it down:1. I did get stuck in the elevator twice during my 24 hour stay. The first time, the elevator kept going up and down at an accelerated rate for about 10-15 minutes and the call button in the elevator wasnt working. Luckily, I was able to call to the front desk on my cell (which took several calls and about 5 minutes to finally get through after being placed on hold the first 2 times)The second time I had to pry the doors open to get out. I didnt want a repeat of my last ride....2. The desk manager on duty offered to comp breakfasts for my sister and I, have us a late checkout, and said he would also add extra points to my BonVoy Rewards membership for this major scare (I dont believe the extra points were ever added)

Comment: I think you guys should post that there is construction or whatever is going on and there is only one elevator. Lines were so long to get in and sometimes out each day. Also the parking was not pleasant. You have to get out in the heat and walk up the street to make it to the front. Getting out if the parking garage was hell. I was told I would pay the end of my stay, but i was not given a pass to go in and out. Customer service was not great and not on the same page. AC needs to be looked at. Our room was hot. It smelled like Marijuana so much that our room smelled like it. Picked this hotel because on Hotels.com it had 4 starts. It definitely didnt feel like a 4 star hotel.

Comment: The hotel was clean and well kept, though the building is dated. The staff were very accomodating and polite, but it was very hard to get a hold of them (was put on hold for 15+ mins by front desk). The main elevators were out of service for our entire stay so we had to use the service elevators which often had a long wait, and was only accessible through a cramped passage making it impossible to socially distance.

Comment: We just checked in and the service was abhorrent. If you smile while arguing with me it doesn’t make it better. I ordered a specific room and they gave it away. After traveling all day and calling early to request a late check in they still gave my room request to someone else. The lady at the front desk told me I ordered the room via some internet bargain site. I didn’t and she didn’t believe me. Also a surprise is that I have to pay for parking every time I leave and come back, it’s not included. I booked this location since it is close to where I need to be and have to drive short distances and come and go. The cost for parking adds a ton to the cost of staying here.I feel that this hotel is a bad deal, with bad service.

Comment: Our room was fine, but average or below for Westin. I called the hotel and Miguel answed, he was curt and unhelpful. I think he hates his job and should not be it a customer service role. When I arrived I spoke with Gabriel who was very friendly so it balanced the experience to average. I spend on average 115 nights a year in hotels, and the human interaction here is poor. They act as though they are doing you a favor as opposed to understanding we have numerous choices in the area, and how each experience affects future choices.

Comment: Nice hotel. Rooms are big and clean. Staff is friendly at check-in. Good restaurants in the area just a few blocks away. Hotel has a nice fitness center.Downside is the self parking. No in and out privelages without double paying and limited number of spaces. Fix the self parking and it would be 5 stars.

Comment: Booked a room with 2 double beds but when I checked in I was given room with a king bed. I asked receptionist to double check reservations and she said that all the double bed rooms were booked and she only had king rooms available. She did offer a rolling bed but I didnt need it. Room was good size and bed was comfy, beauty sleep pillow top mattress. Pillows were fake down that fell flat, even using two. I woke up with neck and shoulder pain. We requested more shampoo and conditioner and it was brought up quickly. The water heats up very quickly for both sink and shower so be careful. There is self parking with no in and out for $14 with validation at the front or valet for $19 with in and out privileges. I was on the 5th floor and heard the people in the room next door coming in and moving around their room, getting in the shower and blow drying their hair between 2am and 3am. Other than what was mentioned, I enjoyed my stay.

Comment: Pretty nice place to stay on business trips.Pros: Nice big room with all the essentials and the view from the pool and hot tub is amazing. They play nice relaxing music at the pool, which is very large and not overchlorinated.Cons: Breakfast is not included and the room service breakfast items are pricey for what is offered. Hot tub needs resurfacing work done on it, as there are many places where the thick paint is coming away, leaving the potential for the pieces to break and leave sharp edges.

Comment: Westin hotels have such a nice balance of warmth and comfort, especially their beds. The Westin Pasadena is really a nice one. Its quiet and peaceful. The pool and hot tub are on a pleasant outdoor space overlooking the surrounding buildings. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The location is great to walk to the many restaurants along Colorado Ave and the surrounding streets. Personally I always prefer to stay here when I visit Los Angeles to be a bit away from the craziness of downtown and other areas. Pasadena is a short drive to places like Glendale and Universal and depending on the traffic within reach of the rest of the area. The only goofy thing about the Westin Pasadena is the self-parking, which is validated through a sort of odd way. You basically get charged full price every time you leave, which is fine once you are in for the night. But as they suggest, use the valet if you are coming and going.

Comment: I would probably rate this hotel a 3.5 if I could. Nice rooms and food service. The hotel offers a free shuttle to anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. However, when myself and my friend tried to call the shuttle to pick us up and take us back to the hotel, the service would not pick up, or it would put us on hold and then hang up. This happened about 2-3 times. Also, the downstairs area of the hotel on the 1st floor (including the restaurant) was so cold. It was rainy and in the 50s during our stay so Im not sure why The hotel was so cold. I ordered room service my first night and left the tray outside my room. The tray was outside my room for over 24 hours! Even after housekeeping had cleaned my room. Ive never seen a room service tray not get picked up for that long. Other than that, the hotel was good. The restaurant had fast service and all of the wait staff was very courteous.

Comment: I visited the Westin Pasadena recently for a company social event in which I was providing Services. The staff there was excellent and accommodating especially considering that they were slammed with inclement weather conditions. Everybody that I encountered throughout the setup process and event was very helpful with making sure that the function ran smoothly. The hotel staff was also very professional and the facilities or very clean and modern. I would recommend the Westin that only for a good stay but for use of their Ballroom facilities as an excellent choice for a private or public event.

There a mini fridge, robe, toiletries with hair dryer and large TV in the room. Comment: Attended an event, and it was beautifully decorated. Restrooms were clean, spacious, lovely atmosphere. Their food was ok. Had the chicken with risotto and baby veggies. Very tasty! The dessert chocolate cakes were simple yet beautiful however, they were frozen or hard, and very rich. I didnt even touch mine, but took a bite of my husbands. The rooms were spacious and very nice but, they need to update their website because the rooms on the website did not look like the actual rooms. The rooms looked better in person.

Comment: Usually our favorite hotel in Pasadena and we now know if we are staying here that we need to book through the hotel itself. For the second time, we used a booking site and am now convinced this property save the worst rooms for the online booking sites. This visit was less than impressive, even more so than the last time. Our room (348) looked out to a wall and stairwell landing with noise galore. The stuffiness in the room required us to crack the window, but we definetely did not get any fresh air.The bathroom plug didnt work, so the only other plug with a mirror was built into the closet making it difficult to do hair and makeup with the dim lighting. It was reported to the front desk. The bed, usually our favorite Westin feature, was worn down. Any significant movement on the bed caused a horrible noise from the frame. While I would usually recommend this hotel, I will never book it through a booking site again. It was a huge disappointment at a costly price. Not worth even half of the $229 we spent.

Comment: Stayed here for a quick weekend trip. Nice hotel with equally nice location. Its walking distance to old Town and about 15 minutes from downtown LA. The room was quiet, the bed was comfy but my only gripe is that I wish their pool had more lounge chairs. Comment: We attended a seminar at the Westin Pasadena on Los Robles and were very pleased with the environment and the friendly and helpful staff. The seminar was held in a meeting room that comfortably seated 100 people. Food and refreshments provided by the hotel was light and tasty. Parking was provided by the people running the seminar, but for the two hours we stayed the $6 fee would have been reasonable, considering the property and the location. Comment: Exterior and lobby of hotel are very nice. The standard rooms, however, are dated -cottage cheese ceilings, dark furniture, a big stain on the carpet. I asked for a change of rooms to a higher floor because my room on the third floor had a walkway right outside my window. Being a single woman, I try to avoid rooms with direct access through the window. They were unable to move me to the fourth or fifth floor (higher floors have more expensive rooms). No makeup mirrors in the bathroom, and the lighting is bad (makes applying makeup difficult). Service is good, food is ok, everyone is very polite and friendly, and its a convenient location. Just not what I would expect from a Westin.

Comment: Great views in a hotel located in the historic downtown Pasadena area. The rooms have sleek and modern styled furniture with warm wood tones, marble counters and grey patterned carpeting. The bathroom is all tile. The Westin heavenly beds in the rooms with are comfortably soft with decent, but not luxurious sheets. Internet speed is fine, but not fast. Comment: Five stars for this lovely hotel in this lovely city. This place matches the unique personality of Pasadena itself. The rooms are of average size but the furnishings are of excellent quality. Magnificent views from individual rooms, much more so from huge balconies which has lounging chairs and side tables. The lighting of the City Hall nearby can be appreciated from the balcony overlooking the pool and jacuzzi area along with a sweeping view of the city and the mountain range in the background. Service is highly efficient, with a comfortable shuttle service that cater to hotel guests wherever they want to go or picked up within a three-mile radius. Reasonable underground valet or self-parking facility. We were upgraded upon check in for being a loyal SPG member. Wonderful experience, looking forward to our next stay.

Comment: I stayed here for the Rose Bowl and I could not have been happier! It is located two blocks off the Rose Parade route so we were able to see the parade even though we didnt have tickets. It is conveniently located to restaurants and shops although some shops were closed due to the holiday. We took a shuttle into the stadium as many people did. The shuttle was within walking distance of the hotel, although the Westin had a shuttle that could take you to the game shuttle if necessary. The staff was absolutely amazing! Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. They pointed us in the right direction at every turn. The hotel did not offer transportation from the airport but the concierge arranged our transportation from and to LAX and everything went off without a hitch. The hotel itself is well maintained and clean. The price for a night was increased due to the Rose Bowl and I do think it was overpriced as all the hotels in Pasadena were. However, I would definitely recommend staying in Pasadena for the game as it is a beautiful city and convenient to all the festivities!

Comment: Very clean and upscale hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially concierge and valet. The rooms were clean and the layout was comfortable. I got a handicap bathroom so that was a bit unusual, but aside from that the bathroom was nice and spacious. Its only a block or 2 from Colorado and Paseo so that was really convenient and they offer a complimentary shuttle within a 3 mile radius which was very useful. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay.

Comment: We stayed here for a convention at the Pasadena Convention Center. The rooms were a bit small, but functional. Our room had two queen beds, one TV, a dresser, a table, and a coffee set. The real high-point of this hotel was the rooftop pool and the high-end fitness center. The pool was one of the largest Ive seen, and the gym was also very large. Pool temperature was just right for me, and the best thing was that we were the only ones using it.

Comment: This hotel used to be great, but has gone downhill significantly in the past few years. The location is central and prices are pretty low on weekends, especially for a Westin, but it ends there. The rooms are showing their age, the front desk is a mess, and the price no longer feels like a bargain when you arent getting the room youre paying for. Last trip there we had to move rooms twice - once due to maintenance issues, and the other because they upgraded us to a room with two single beds (after we told them we were there for a romantic weekend getaway!?) Its time for Starwood to get some remodeling/updating going and get some management that actually knows what theyre doing.

Comment: The Westin is a very nice and clean hotel in downtown Pasadena. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel restaurant, and both meals were decent value and tasted great. Our room was very nice, and had comfortable beds and a good shower (hard to find both in a hotel!). The only problem I had with the location was that the parking garage was shared with offices nearby, and it was difficult to find a spot, however the parking was much cheaper than other hotels I have recently stayed at ($11/day here vs. a local competitor that charged $30/day). I will definitely be staying at the Pasadena Westin next time Im in the area!

Comment: The outside wedding venue was beautiful. Seating can be tight if you have more than 100 people though so check it out first. Its a little breezy in the afternoon but the sun drops behind the trees after 6pm so plan accordingly if you dont want your guests roasting in the sun. There are portable shades available and the bar is right behind the seating area which is nice to. The hotel was beautiful and the reception on the second floor was gorgeous. The open bar was great and the bartenders actually knew how to make good drinks. The food and the reception seemed to go flawlessly. The hotel provided plenty of staff and I cant think of any complaints.

Comment: Although Im an SPG member and usually just choose whatever SPG hotel is nearby where Im travelling on business, but this was a personal trip and I was keeping my two year old company while my wife attended a conference. It was my first stay at the Westin Pasadena, and I was very impressed. The rooms are much bigger than at the LA Westin Bonaventure, where Im a frequent visitor. The rooms are much better appointed as well. The Venetian blinds control light well, ( my kid takes a nap during the day) and they have a long couch along the length of one wall, which made is easy because my kid wont hurt herself on non child proofed furniture. The bed was pretty standard, Ive always enjoyed the Westin beds - one of my main reasons to choose this brand of hotels. The pool was good, although my kid was too small for it. Room service and menu option were very limited, which is why taking a star off, and the food was not consistent between days. The restaurants and bars looked nice, but I did not try them out.The staff was pleasant, and cheerful and helpful with directions to local parks and other fun things to do with kids.

Comment: Service is great. The employees were very friendly and helpful whenever I needed something or had a question. My room was on the smaller side but was nice and clean, and I had a nice view of downtown. The location is 10 minutes away from art center college of design which was perfect for me. Another plus is that they allow dogs!

Comment: Staying at the Westin Pasadena is always an amazing experience. The service is second to none in the city in terms of housekeeping and the the lobby. The lobby itself is so clean and beautifully maintained. Every room Ive stayed at has been very Clean in a quiet high floor facing the city hall. I would 100% stay there again and will strongly recommend staying there
