Comment: Had a great time. Loved the fact that they bring in live music entertainment usually on the weekends and may also host a hotdog or hamburger picnic to feed everyone that attends . Wilderness lakes really does do it right they quite often will have some sort of activity or fun entertainment for all us kids young and old. The park is very considerate of there guest and surrounding community on occasion they bring in different extravagant food trucks at times throughout the week. Only one ☝️ thing I wish is there pools and or hot tubs would stay open longer than 9pm especially during these hot summer days. Unfortunately it happens and without notification the pools and hot tubs were all closed up by 7:30pm this hot memorial weekend that was a real bummer, Otherwise Menifee wilderness lake gets 100% in our book and will definitely will make our way back to wilderness lake and to the community of Menifee for a much desired long visit.

Comment: This is one of our favorite places to stay. Beautiful trees, birds, water canals. Its close to local commerce but feels like its in the middle of nature. Plenty of sites with full hookups. All flat so its great for riding bikes. If you dont have another vehicle, golf cart, or bikes the furthest sites are pretty far from the lodges. There is a room for billiards, a TV room, a puzzle room, activities center, mini golf course, pickleball, horse shoes, basketball court, baseball field. There are two pools with Jacuzzis. The facility should really resurface the ground around the pools. Its too rough in some areas and too slippery in others. Some bathrooms throughout are new but many are older. Bathrooms by the pools could use some modernization and better air circulation. Sometimes food trucks come on the weekends. Country store is highly marked up on essentials possibly left at home.. Birds can be loud at times but we love it. And we love the variety. Baby goslings recently hatched. Its a home away from home.

Comment: We are disappointed with this thousand trails. At least the accommodations. We are in a cabin and it is in serious need of updating and fixing. The furniture is car clawed and old. The flooring is missing pieces in places. The deck has screws protuding, and this is a wheelchair ramp, because the material is so worn down. The bathroom door is all ate at the bottom. Never seen anything like it. It is just not what I expected. Just worn down and needs to be totally redone. The property itself is somewhat maintained. The back section is all over grown and looks terrible. The part closer to where to enter is more maintained but they need to replace their mower blades because the middle of each row is super high. There are burrs everywhere. I could not walk my dog without getting burrs so we left the property to let him exercise. They dont have a dog park here so that is not an option. Perhaps if it were mowed and spayed for weeds there wouldnt be a many burrs but the entire property is over run by them. Some of the staff are super nice and friendly. Others not so much. So as for staff, it is not or miss.Of you love geese, they are everywhere. It is so nice to see them with their babies etc. There is a canal that runs through the property and that makes the property look very nice, as long as you dont look at the weeds and little grass.....lol.Anyway, I would not want to stay extended here simply because of the burrs and the unwelcoming staff. The price for their cabins is ridiculous considering the shape they are in. We got ours free for a week as a member perk but if I had to pay, I would have checked out and went to a hotel. We wanted to love it here, but it is just not in the cards. We like to walk through the parks and it isnt possible here because it is so over grown with burrs.

Comment: Update 4/18/24: There are a few more new rules that are acceptable. Construction is still underway all around them and within. They have a long way to go to be completely updated. I happened to be there during a schedule power outage by Edison. 8am to 5pm. I understand things being closed during those hours. However, evening activities should have re-opened after five. Example cards are played every night between 6 -9 M - F. But management would not open the card room to accommodate their card playing guest. Reason: There was a scheduled power outage by Edison. Power was back on by 6 pm. Everyone was waiting at the card room, but they would not accommodate them. It came across very unfriendly. Most of the Thousand Trails and Encore parks I have stayed at bend over backward to make their guest happy. My rating this time is a C-Not all employees are unfriendly. This comes from management on duty. It feels like they are conviniencing their employees instead of their guest. I felt we were not important.Update: like anything else because of Covid, things are not back to par. Lack of employees has cause a lot of things to change. But overall, still a nice place to camp as they are working hard to become fully staffed and running smoothly. It will take a while. New upper management trying to find a balance between rules from above and peace we the campers to make their visits more pleasurable.

Comment: Our family came and spent 3 nights in April 2024. I was concerned because the last time we were here the place looked like it was abandoned. The weeds were so high and there were a lot of sites that did not have power. Now, we saw a lot of improvements: it seems that they are maintaining the campground. It seems that they are cutting the weeds. The restrooms are cleaned. We love this park and its location. It is in the middle of everything. We were happy to see that there have been noticeable improvements. We hope that the improvements will continue as time goes on.Ruiz Family.

Comment: Cons: Unfriendly staff. Poop in the shower stalls. Amenities are not taken care of. Prepare to sweep/clean any that you want to use and bring your own equipment. Rains a lot in the winter and the whole park floods. Hookups are old and dangerous. Getting your propane filled up? Its expensive and you get very unfriendly staff to help you. Theres another place 3 miles away thats way better.Pro: Most of the sites have functioning sewer hookups.

Comment: We loved our stay at Wilderness Lakes. The staff was friendly, prompt, and helpful. There were some days where water was turned off because of the nearby construction. We were notified and updated by staff throughout the day.-Cell Service: Verizon service was fine 3-4 bars.- Starlink was fine. Not great. Lots of trees to get in the way. We picked the best spot we could find for Starlink and we still had a few issues.-Bathrooms- Not as clean as we have experienced before. The women’s bathroom had one shower and the other was non-functioning for our entire stay. That was a hassle when trying to shower up kiddos.- The pool was wonderful! Both the hot tub and pool were nice. The pool was not heated for a couple days but once staff was notified, they fixed it right away.- Events- they had a lot of wonderful events and it was great place for our kids to meet other kids. They had a lot of options.-Playground- decent. Things were functional. A bit small for the amount of kids there but in good shape.-Fitness Center- we didn’t use it but we peeked in and it looks nice. I would equate it to a typical hotel fitness center.-Close to town so things are accessible.- Bike friendly area- There is also a little trail/track next door where people walk or ride their bikes with some jumps.-Laundry room was fine. A bit small. The washers were consistently full and a steady flow of people using the machines.- They had food trucks 2-3 nights a week as well.

Comment: Used the RV area but only for 2 nights. It’s a nice park and would definitely stay again if in the area. We only gave it 4 stars simply because of the Geese feces. I know it’s nature and can’t be helped but had a hard time keeping it from being tracked back into the RV. I did love seeing all the Canadian (?) geese though.

Comment: Our recent stay at the campsite in Menifee, California was nothing short of fantastic! Situated close to everything we needed, this campsite offered a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and natural beauty that made our experience truly memorable. The amenities at this campsite were top-notch, with not just one, but two refreshing heated pools and jacuzzis. The spacious camping spots allowed us to spread out and enjoy a sense of privacy while still being part of a vibrant community of fellow campers. One of the highlights of our stay was the abundance of wild ducks and geese that roamed the campsite, providing endless entertainment and a delightful touch of nature. Watching them go about their daily routines added a special charm to our camping experience and created a unique connection to the surrounding environment.Overall, our time at the Menifee campsite was nothing short of delightful. With its convenient location, great amenities, spacious sites, and charming wildlife, this campsite is a gem that we cant wait to return to. Whether youre looking for a relaxing getaway or a fun-filled outdoor adventure, this campsite has everything you need for a memorable stay. Highly recommended for campers of all ages!

Comment: Be very careful driving in this park during a rain storm. It washes out the roads and there is NO lighting or any safety measures in place to keep you on the actual road. Found this out the hard way, ALMOST drove into the canal. ALMOST. Did not matter to management, they immediately suspended our account. No use trying to resolve any issues. Avoid rangers and management and your trip will be fine.

Comment: This place is a complete dump. The lady at the front gate is extremely rude very unfriendly like she doesn’t want to be there at all. My wife was in the shower and the water just stopped while she had soap all over her. I drove up to the front gate and the lady said “what do you want me to do about it “ that was her answer. Do yourself a huge favor and don’t go there. They have fishing lakes there and they smell like rotten fish and are extremely dirty with something floating on top of the water. Just a very nasty experience for us. We also saw like homeless people walking around and they looked like they were totally high on something. They have a ton of people living there and when we arrived yesterday they said just drive around until you find the site you like. After 65 minutes we found that they only had 2 sites open and our RV and tow vehicle would barely fit. And this is an RPI resort? A totally mis managed place with very lazy people working here.

Comment: Although the city is being built around the park, it is still pretty quiet. On occasion, there will be someone squealing their tires or making noise on an unused road close by. There are stores and restaurants within a few minute drive. The park itself is lovely but lacks a dog park. There is wildlife, especially birds, during winter. At night, you can hear coyotes. I like the park and plan on returning.

Comment: We are full time RVers and Thousand Trails members with a 38ft motorhome towing a car.Out of the 40+ TT parks we’ve stayed at, believe it or not…this is one of the better ones! It helps to keep your expectations low when pulling into TT parks. But this location had a lot of positives-The basic amenities. Sewer, water, electric hook ups. With level enough sites.-two of the bathrooms we visited were clean.-We are not sure who the activities director is but GREAT JOB! At least this park is trying. They have food trucks, bands, line dancing lessons, crafts, etc through out the month.-At least one hot tub was open the entire 3 weeks we were there which is nice. And the pool(s) seemed to be heated and in working condition!-close to grocery stores and towns.-minimal contact with park staff, no crazy rules. We really enjoyed our easy 3 weeks here.Areas of improvement--Speed bumps. Lord…I get it. But they really wreck some havoc on our big rigs. Especially right before the exit when you have to slow down anyways before the gate? I feel like people that design these parks have never driven a motorhome.-Hot tub was open but smelly!-Be careful if it’s raining. Many sites were under water for a few days.

Comment: UPDATED REVIEW, SEE BELOW FOR FURTHER INFORMATION**OLD - 07/2023 - We stay here 3 weeks out of the month. The pool is always clean, they dont have an age limit on RVs, just a condition requirement, and they always have clean bathrooms. I love it here, and after our one week out where we had to visit a luxury RV park, we are anxious to get back here and have amenities that actually work and no time restrictions on bathrooms and showers by the pool. The spots are small here but you pick your own so you can pick what scenery you want to be near.We are headed back today so I may update this review, but as long as there are no issues, I give it 5*.UPDATED REVIEW: 01/21/24 - So, weve been doing this for several months now, about 6. I would not buy a membership here again if I knew then what I know now. Once you get a membership, you suddenly cant make a reservation for your 3 weeks in the park at one sitting, especially once the snowbirds start rolling in. You have to wake up at 6:30 am daily, and call multiple times a day to the corporate reservations number. There, they will give you 2-3 days here and there, and you can piece together your reservation using this method (depending on how far in advance) in about two weeks. Or be out of luck, exiting and entering the park every few days. The rangers have their favorite members, and if you do anything that disagrees with an employee that has any sort of power... they all pretty much turn against you and extensions for filler days in your reservation become impossible, they look for every excuse to try and give you a violation, and with violations they can suspend your membership for 30 days with no real explanation, or even worse... cancel the membership. No one lets you know exactly what you did to violate the rules, and when you try and appeal the decision to corporate, they just back up the park, with still no explanation provided. If you finance the membership loan and want to keep your credit in good standing, you are stuck paying on the loan and member dues, even if they cancel or suspend you.If you paid the full amount upfront and they suspend or cancel you, from what I have read, they dont refund a dime of the 9k+ membership or the 700/yearly dues. Its something I didnt even know could happen without a serious, justified reason and the member being allowed to submit an actual appeal, evidence to back them up, and actually be heard by someone. Its also a terrible place to be after a storm. The entire property washes out. And they have had 2 of the restroom facilities closed for months now, with no intention of opening them until spring. So if you are by a laundry bathroom in the back or middle, you actually have to travel to the next bathroom 3+ rows away to use the bathroom/showers if you dont like to use your RV for whatever reason.Dont get me wrong, I love this place dearly. Our family calls it home and I didnt have a problem with any of the staff, (I actually liked a few of them) or this until I realized the staff had a clear personal issue with myself and my family. It actually gets to me, I tried my best to find out the issue and pledged if I truly did something, to make it right. I wouldnt want bad blood at the place my kids call home. But, it clearly doesnt matter, theyve got it set in their mind to force us out without giving a clear reason. So, if you buy a membership, be aware, you could lose all of your money, your investment, and they dont have to explain anything or listen to your side.

Comment: We rented a cabin for two nights while visiting family in the area. I found this Gem via google maps. Our cabin was awsome. There were 5 of us and we were very comfortable. Place was clean, easy to park and unload and the staff were super helpful. I regret we were not able to take advantage of all the cool stuff going on but it looked great. I would recommend the cabins vs staying at a hotel. We saved a bunch of $$$. Brought our own coffee grounds and creamer. There is a coffee pot, microwave, shower was perfect and the beds were very comfortable. Save $, have fun, follow the rules/written instructions and your good to go.

Comment: Great place to stop and hang your hat! You definitely get the feel of being out in the wild at this resort, even if its only less than a mile to the nearest grocery store and/ or fast food. The cannals are filled with ducks and mainly Geese.. so I would suggest if youre a light sleeper pick a site away from the water because they can be rater noisy... also if you are having trouble booking online definitely give them a call, they are extremely helpful and can provide you with the best professional customer service.. Wilderness lakes also offers the safe feeling! Well monitor entry and exit.

I showed up to check in and was told my reservation was canceled. 1000 trails said they did not cancel it. Menifee said they did not cancel it. They blamed it on each other, but I had no reservation. Comment: Upon arrival to our site, we went scouting for bathrooms close by. There are a couple but had key pads with numbers on it. Did the code exactly how we were told and still didnt work. After trying 3 separate bathrooms and having the same repeated issue, me and my husband walk to talk to someone about it. We told him what was happening, and no apology or real look of care, he just said hmm. You could always use the lodge bathrooms, which are not very close to my site. The next big issue, is this place is horribly loud. Not the greatest of locations, train noises, car noises. The neighbors themselves are generally pretty quiet. They do have some ok amenities, pretty typical of similar rv parks. Not the worst place Ive stayed, but much prefer their Idylwild location. Much more peaceful, serene and beautiful.

Comment: Horrible experience! Staff is rude, the new management is ruining this place. It’s no longer a peaceful atmosphere because staff harasses you about any and everything. They will do anything to find a way to upcharge your stay. $30 late check-out no matter what the circumstances. My husband had an emergency and had to go to the hospital, then our truck broke down and we were 30 minutes late checking out and even after explaining the circumstances they still charged us a late fee and when we expressed our disappointment they threatened to put an official “warning” in our file for being so called “combative/hostile with their staff” when in actuality their staff ganged up on my husband 4 to 1 and he’s sick end stage renal disease patient on dialysis. They will charge your visitors $10 to enter the park even if they’re not staying. I told Irma at the front desk my mom was only coming to drop something off and not staying she said “well you can pick it from her at Stater Brothers or pay the $10 no exceptions!” My mom is 72 years old and can’t walk that far and I was stuck there with my 2 disabled children so we were forced to pay the additional $10. Just no compassion or empathy for others. Julia will tape your front door if you park near her rig on the north side of the park to track your coming and going’s to see if you’re actually staying in your rig every night which is actually a form of harassment! Their bathrooms are dirty and need updating. They have cobwebs and spiders in the showers and my children refuse to use them because they’re afraid of spiders. The laundry rooms always have broken washers and dryers. This place is old and outdated but they act like it’s the Ritz Carlton or something. There are lots of much nicer parks in the area.. go somewhere else this place needs a total overhaul starting with the staff!

Comment: We made same-day reservations. When we called and asked for the availability of a pull through site, the reply was, “there are a lot of them “. When we arrived at 7 PM, we were told to just go find a spot and return to the check-in office to tell them what we found. The property is very congested, dark and the sites are very tight. We drove around the maze of streets, and never could find a site that would fit our 38 foot coach. We received no assistance from the employees, and eventually we just left. Now we will have to take the time to figure out how to get a refund for a reservation. We will never go back to this or any other 1000 trails location.

Comment: Will they bring back Halloween this year is the big question. Since the lady manager took over the place has really gone down hill. There is no more little restaurant to grab breakfast, the game room is hardly opened. The pool closes earlier. The place is just ran down in general. Ive been coming here for 20 years and since shes been here its no longer fun.Updated review. I just got done reading some recent reviews from TripAdvisor. It looks like management is paying people to leave reviews. So pathetic. Hopefully they get rid of the current management because she has let this park get out of control with people who took up residence here. The back of the park is horrible. You cannot let your kids ride their bike down there because Tweakers live there. Horrible management. Thousand Trails needs to open their eyes up and get rid of that ratchet manager

Comment: Teddy Roosevelt had traveled many trails. He once said that at least 1000 of them led to this lake. Although he never stayed here, on account of his lifelong fued with ducks, he did pass through occasionally. There is an old tree on the south side that house gnomes. If they spot you, they will demand tribute. Maybe keep trinkets or fudge handy.

My favorite is how she taught us how to do tie dye with markers for 4th of july, I was very impressed. i have been a teacher, home schooled and a principal. So I know its not easy to come up with ideas to get campers to join.. Thank you Laura 😄, keep it up you are appreciated!

Comment: So far its been a great experience im living in my RV for the time being so I bought the camping pass which lets me stay at any of the thousand trails or affiliated park sites across the nation for a whole year for $550 (promo price normally $650.) The park is great clean and quiet, nice people clean facilities with nice showers. Utilities are included free wifi, dog friendly, theres parks for the kids to play and pools to swim. Fishing and other activities at the clubhouses all day most days. All in all cant say anything bad about the place and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Comment: Great place to stay IF you have a membership, if youd dont please find somewhere else. They have 2 pools clearly can always tell the main pool is used by the random people that camp for 1 weekend a year and have ZERO respect for the camping life and for others. Entire family at the main pool this past weekend blasting rap music and kids swimming and being rude. One mother dropped her 3 year old crying into the kiddy pool and walked away. There was not a single thousand trails employee around that I could find to get it fixed. Id dont approach the family directly as that wouldve been bad confrontation. Much like the idylllwild location once you check in the staff is of little to NO help at all.

Comment: The rangers are very helpful and have amazing customer service we check in later had our key in the lock box the ranger let the maintenance guy know and he came here to make sure we were good . That was grate felt wonderful. Pool is amazing the only thing we had a issue was how nasty the cabin are the windows upstairs has gel on it extremely dirty in windowsills the floor was sticky there was no mop or broom to clean it, so we how do use one of the towels that was provided the cobwebs upstairs were extremely noticeable..the week before we stayed at a other getaway and the whole week we were there the Ac did not work good at all it was hot in The cabin . If housekeeping would take more pride in there work this place would boom in greatness.. I do want to thank the rangers and maintenance for the fast response to anything.

Comment: This is an RV and trailer camping location. Tent camping sites as well as cabins are also available. It is clean but a little run down. Needs some upkeep. Many areas were closed to potential remodeling of the lodge, o e of two swimming pools, game area, etc. Fishing is available in the man-made channels, but I would just catch and release. Horse shoes, pickleball courts, and a softball field are a few of the amenities available. The public restrooms and showers are very clean. Even though this is a membership location, others still can camp without a membership. Very friendly staff and park rangers.

Comment: Its a nice park in a way .if they would cut down all the weeds that are as high as the picnic tables. they keep the front of the park the entrance looking really nice .Some employees are really nice. Some of the rangers have a really bad attitude one male and one female not really a good place to go when it rains some of the park floods out ..your fifth wheel or motorhomes in a lake sorta say and your electrical line is in underwater.. and when you ask the female ranger for help you get told they have higher priorities in the way than your electrical line in water.. 10 months ago I gave this park a high rating..not now..

Not too much shade available though. They have a nice green area, but it is just covered in geese poop. A ton of flies! There was once a dairy next door. Just be prepared! Weve been here many times. Comment: Here for 1 week, older lady full timing for 28 years. Campgrounds are turning into homeless rv parks where regulars dont think rules apply to them. Have counted 9 unleashed dogs while sitting on my sofa, speeding, cutting through occupied sites and no site standards enforced. Called once about my neighbors unleashed dog and after addressing it - the dog was still loose. Employees zooming around on golf carts. Why dont they report violators? TT parks are no longer resorts but homeless camps. They need better screening of members or at least make an effort to enforce rules. Members and campers - Please leash your dogs. If you love them, leash them.

Comment: Wilderness Lakes used to be our favorite family hang-out and vacation area. With the pandemic, this place took a big hit. Management has changed a few times, and the price of membership living and lease spots continues to inflate. Since Linda has left as the Activities Director, it doesnt seem to have the same vibe at candy bar bingo, but I’m sure that it will become the norm over time. This is still a nice park to visit, but hopefully greed doesnt feed into selling this location to the money hungry contractors of the nearing housing developments.

Comment: The overall experience was satisfactory. My children were excited about going to the arcade and my son lost $6 of his own money trying and having hope in various games. He was so sad that he lost all his money and wasnt able to play any games. I went with him to tell the employee that was in the office and she told us that she was unable to do anything about it. However she left the door to the arcade open for more people to be victims to the money stealing games. It wasnt until I asked her to post a sign that she laughed and stated she could do that. Not a pleasant situation and unfortunately we enjoyed out visit until this incident crushed my sons spirits. Better customer service could have saved our first impression of the Resort. Dont know if we want to become members now....

Comment: This is a Thousand Trails RV park, rhey have cabins and rainy houses u can rent, they do offer leasing spots, they r roomy, and I believe u can stay in one leased spot for 6 months and then u have to leave for 2 weeks, must call them to verify...we bought the package for $800 down and pay $225 a month, however once a month we have to leave for a week, that being said, u can go to another TT rv park and its included in your package for freeAmenities in Menifee: country store and is closed on Monday and Tuesday, nice large bathrooms in a couple of buildings (they remodeling), take as long as u want, endless hot water and a place to sit inside showers, 2 nice size pools and one is salt water,, luv that, they have a main lodge with ac and heat open 9-9,, free wifi there and books, activity center with arts and crafts for u and children, free of charge, Saturday nights r huge gathering, do and food trucks, miniature golf, not fancy but geared for family, they have a small children pool only 1 ft deep, and 3 JacuzzisThey offer dry camping ad well and it backs up to the canal and country story, ice machine at main entrance but pricey...it is dirt and rocks so what we found works for us is to find our site and put car there, then we rake and blowout the yard area, put our mats out and then pull inThey offer fishing, Ive o ly seen catfish and they luv peanut butter...this is a HUGE geese resort, nice to watch them in early am and duskIt us a first cone first served place, so each time u keave I recommen d checking a few spots that y like and check the date when they knave or get here super early on yr returnFriendly and helpful staffLaundry: not my recommendation...highly recommend searching area firstB prepared for flies and ants ...everyone has there hacks. We still meeting people and kearning this areaNo fires and bring ur own BBQ or smoker, we do pressure cooking and crackpot or use oven an stove top (we bought outside Coleman that yse fuel)... 4 yrs into this adventure now, cooking (a passion) we find so soothingEnjoy your journey!

Comment: Sliding down hill and fast. The weight room, the activities and several other amenities close early, open late and are not open certain days. Their hours are not consistent and do not reflect what is posted . Over the last week I have noticed it being pretty messy in the park, bathrooms are dirty, seems like management is just cashing their check.Ive talked with several of the employees and a lot of them live in fear. They said they feel picked on by management, like they could lose their housing at any moment for any reason. Ive seen many of the people who worked there for years be fired in the last few months. Now they just have lots of new temporary employees...I am not sure whats going on with that company or if its just a local management thing but something has definitely changed.

Comment: Place is packed to the gills!Hard to find a spot especially if you want shade from the scorching summer sun.And oh my god watch out for grandma who is at the front gate where you check in. Get there early, get there early. We were supposed to be there to check in at 10 pm at the latest but you know ladies and gentlemen.... life throws all kinds of curve balls at you.So we ended up getting there near midnight... then the silver haired lady that was at the gate says I cant check you in you were supposed to be here at 11 at the latest. So I told her that there were some things that delayed us such as leaving our previous camp site which is not that far away. But keep in mind we have a truck with a 33 foot pull behind trailer. So cant exactly go 65 or 55 on 2 lane town roads ok! Also one of the roads on the route to the way there was under construction, so had to navigate around that. Then this lady gives me this B S about noise and quiet time in the park. Understandable, but come on psycho! The majority of the campers were already asleep with curtains drawn where she claims we would be shining our lights in there windows and disturbing the guests. We had paid a large amount of money for our membership so I think we need to be treated a little better than children about coming late to the park and setting up our trailer to park it and hook up the amenities yaa??And another kicker when she was all about keeping quiet time as religious as possibleTwo Harley Davidson riders scooted on in as we were attempting to check in.... muuuaahahahaha! And come to find out my wife who was dealing with ol grandma had made a note of this too. My wife, god bless her soul, got the lady to finally decide to DO HER JOB and check us in. I mean cmon they close at midnight and want the cutoff time at 10 pm? I could go on but I believe I made my point.Come on Wilderness Lakes... Doesnt membership have its privileges.?

Comment: Ive stayed here a few times. I had planned on writing a review but had family illness issues that kept me distracted. After contracting Covid, this really caused my delay in writing this review. But inexorably, today, I am committed to write a review. First I want to commend Erma, she works up at the security gate. She went way above the call of her normal duties to help me. She really cares for people. Beautiful to experience. She deserves a big part of this 5 star rating. Who ever hired her, thank you for all of us travelers and to you, Erma, well Done! But not only Erma. The entire staff - every staff seems to have been trained to offer the utmost service. The service here is off the charts. Wilderness Lakes RV Resort, whoever is hiring people, you need to complement them! They are insanely good at people picking skills and/or exceptional at managing and training. My rating is about the outstanding people. The RV park is more than adequate, its location around nature, its beautiful scenic perspective, its amazing facilities, multiple Jacuzzis, pools, etc. I love it here. Thank you Thousand Trails! For all interested, this is a great place for many reasons - especially the staff!

They have some fairly new cottages, all sizes, with all amenities. There are grocery stores and great restaurants a couple of miles away if you decide not to BBQ. Comment: A large Thousand Trails RV park located in Menifee. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. A large number of RV sites are shaded by the many eucalyptus trees found on the property. The park has many amenities for children as well as adults. The country store recently reopened. You’ll find it is stocked with camping items as well as general grocery items. Comment: You can ignore the pre check-in emails they send. I showed up ahead of our rig because my husband was arriving after work. They were rude and said this is not acceptable. I let them know that I had followed the emails, checked in online & selected my site which was useless because their system doesn’t recognize it. Luckily they let me past the security shack to go speak with management. I went & picked a site anyway because I was so frustrated. Once we got settled, we enjoyed our weekend. There is a lot for the kids to do (pool, jacuzzi, game room with free pool table/air hockey, crafts, mini golf, basketball, playground, etc). We enjoyed watching the ducks & geese & walking through the park. No wood burning fires during our weekend.. be sure to call ahead & ask if they are experiencing a ‘no burn’ time. If they are, you can still use dura logs or propane fire pit.

Comment: Weve been here many times since 2014 as our grown kids/families live in surrounding areas. It may not be the fanciest RV park around but it is the most welcoming by the staff no matter where theyre working or riding around checking on everything. They are always friendly & smiling and most often give our dobie, Sara, a treat and always say hello on their way by. I dont know why some people complain about residents in the park because I dont know who they are talking about. All RVers here seem friendly, say hello & wave. Dogs are always on leashes as they should be and its clear the people who work here do like all the pets at the sites. Most sites have plenty of room on each side for families and parking. Two downsides: not enough 50AMP sites in my opinion plus 1000 Trails should have a rule that rigs 25ft or less should NOT be able to park in 50AMP. That is not this parks rule; that is 1000 Trails rule that should be changed in my opinion. It is maddening to see a teacup rig in a 50amp taking space when there are so many 30amps available! Some people complained in these reviews that we are on our own to find a spot when we arrive; I think thats fine because the sites at this RV park are all different so its our choice to find one we like. We usually get here late, find a 30amp then go on the hunt the next day for a 50amp. No park is perfect but the staff and management here are tops in my book!!!

Comment: I do not like not being able to reserve a lot. So many 50 Amp lots filled with small trailers and 5th wheels. The 50 Amp should be for the large 5th wheel and motorhomes that requires 50amp. Go pick your space is saying we cant be bothered. Never again.

Comment: Im sure this place was a Resort 10-20 years ago, but no longer. More like a mobile home park now because most sites are permanent residents. Spots are first come first served and we had a lot of trouble finding an empty one. Price was steep for what we got. Check in staff were nice.

Comment: I always thought Thousand Trails campground was the top notch RV park, but wow was I wrong. Way over priced $72, slow check in, no help finding a site they just tell you to go look for one, store is closed. Two positive notes: the laundry rooms were clean and the pool area looked nice. Lots of permanent people living there (lowlife types). I will never go here again.

Comment: We absolutely love this place! Our dog got loose and got lost, we told the guard shack and they went into code “Oliver” alert, they found my baby and bought him safely back home. The workers here are very accommodating. We stayed at a high price RV park for 6 months and then came to Wilderness Lakes, my husband and I have been very happy and satisfied here. Not sure what took us so long to visit.

Comment: Good luck finding a spot..they mske your reservation, but dont assign you a spot, so u have to drive around and look for yourself! Hard to do, especially if arrival time is after dark. Lots of full timers here, some campsites have storage tents outside.. with unsightly junk. Loud construction going on, with tractors starting at 7am. This park needs major renovations. Sites and hookups are not maintained very well. If youre lucky to find a spot, several electrical outlets were not working and not marked so I have n9 way of knowing that it works!! No phone service on my cell and park offers no internet connection. Staff is friendly but try to sell you membership your entire stay.

Comment: The place was pretty decent. Theres hookups for water sewer and electrical for all the RVs. It was so hot all we could do was go to school because they had the restaurant and the general store closed. There were a few activities goingon mostly for kids like magic shows and even the karaoke was mostly kids. We would have gone fishing but we had to pay for a fishing license and it was over a hundred degrees every day. Overall nice place.

Comment: This place is more campground than resort and thats just fine. Very dusty from the dirt, and thats just fine too. Spacious lots. Absolutely excellent staff. Our lot had a septic at it and the system had issues that resulted in some late nights and early mornings and it was all handled very professionally. Not enough of a burden for us to move. The maintenance men here are very friendly and fun to engage with. Youre the real MVP Tracy!! Large beautiful pool, another pool by the fitness center. Three small play grounds. Cute mini golf and large open field in front of the lodge for the kids to run around and play. The woman that runs the activity center is an absolute gem, so sweet and good with the kids. We will be back!

Comment: It might not be what everyone is looking for, but this place is perfect for me. The staff is friendly and can be seen driving around the property frequently, but they dont over-manage guests. Surprisingly, everybody seems to respect the quiet hours without issue. The sites are always relatively clean and trash free, and theres plenty of dumpsters close by wherever you are. I dont use them often, but the updated restrooms and laundry are really nice, and even the older facilities are decent. I guess some people may find it annoying but theres tons of ducks and geese and other birds which I find entertaining (especially hearing little voices yelling duckies!... immediately followed by their parents yelling leave the ducks alone!). I plan to be coming back here many, many more times, hopefully for years to come.

Comment: A Thousand Trails RV Park. Of the 5 I have been in, this was the best. Lots of canal like lakes. Two pools and hot tubs. Pickleball courts. Shuffle board. Activity Center. As of May 1 2021 the store was still closed due to Covid. Lots of trees (shade) and hundreds of geese. Geese were a little noisy, but we enjoyed them. Herons nesting in the trees. Fed the geese blueberries and grapes, sometimes out of my hand. Seems like the right half of the park (as you enter) is nicer than the left side. Far back left is a step down. Flat sites. Very few sites closed for repairs, unlike some other TT I have been in. Supermarket (Stater Bros) about a mile. Ralphs a couple of miles more.

Comment: Cabins are great and clean. So I want to highlight that this review is mainly for territory and amenities. Country store is closed without any notice of reopening soon. Ponds are dead - they smell and have no fish. They dont even sell fishing licenses any more. Courts are not in a good shape and some sport places are really not maintained for a long time. If you just need to spend couple days in cabin or RV with only option to swim in the pool - this place will work for you. I wish they will update info on their site about what is working right now and what to expect.

Comment: Easy check-in at the guard gate and we ended up choosing full hookup pull-through site #325. It was absolutely enormous and very level. As full-time RVers we have stayed in 40+ Thousand Trails parks over the last 2 years and this was easily the largest site that weve ever had. Surprisingly there are a lot of pull-through sites at this park. This is extremely rare for Thousand Trails. Super cool! Restroom #5 was close and it has been recently remodeled. Great showers and everything was spotless. There are 2 lodges but we didnt investigate them. Pool was swarmed with kids at all hours. We also didnt try the optional paid wifi but my AT&T phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked great. My wifes Verizon phone only had 1 bar. Lots of young kids running around and cutting through other peoples sites. Thumbs down for the poor parental supervision! Another plus was being able to program 25 over the air TV channels including CBS and NBC. The guard staff were fantastic! They always opened the gate for us, which meant that we didnt have to manually key in the entry code. Recycling bins are available at the front of the park. Plentiful grocery and restaurant options are located just a few short miles away.

Comment: I travel about 11 months out of the year and see many Campground and locations, including boondocking which is my favorite. This campground has all the amenities and is clean, but some of the facilities are in need of redoing due to heavy use. The grounds likewise are beautiful potentially, but overuse has left dirt where grass once grew.On my visit I didnt have any fly issues like some reported, but the geese definitely had the rule here leaving deposits.Still a quiet stay and I will definitely be back someday.

Comment: We stayed here for 5 weeks. Its been 8 years since we last visited here and a few things have changed. The ponds here really smell bad and they are muddy brown. The geese will land on top of your RV even if youre not parked near the pond like us. It rained here in March so there was flooding at some sites, not ours though but this made the ducks and geese leave the mud pond and camp out on your site. They are remodelling the rest rooms here. And with all of that said, yes well be back because even though things may not be so good at times its just nice meeting people who also enjoy and live this lifestyle. Staff was friendly as well.

Yelled obscenities and scared my wife and kids. Park staff calmed him down and found him a different spot, but we didnt sleep the evening thinking he was coming back to handle it.This park is VERY DIFFICULT to navigate. Poor road conditions, signage is horrible. My daughter came back from picking up food and drove around for 10 minutes in the dark WITH A MAP trying to find us while we were trying to give her directions. The street signs are not lit, the map is incorrect. Even exiting is an adventure. The people are scary. The PAID wifi was near unusable Tethering to Verizon worked when everyone else was asleep.

Our cottage was equipt with everything to keep us comfortable! With Covid going on, you needed to reserve the pool at 6 am for one hour a day, I was there early with no problems. The people who live there full time were more than polite and friendly. Take a basketball, some putters and a golf ball, definitely bring bikes and a fishing pole. Comment: My wife and I enjoy coming to wilderness lakes. It is only a few miles from our home but we like to come here just as a quick get away. They do have many activities. We have never used them do to it is 2020 and covid 19 sucks. They do have the pool open and you have to reserve a time to use it because they only let 10 people in at a time. We like that it is really close to stores but you dont feel close to town when in the camp grounds. We like to park the rv in back area. As anywhere if you come here to critique the place you probably wont have a good time so stay home. Take it for what it is and have a good time with friends and family. Once again the camp rangers are way cool here and once again if you have a problem with them it is probably your fault so stop being a Debby downer. I suggest come here and enjoy.

They said they last stocked on a date that I stayed there which I know was not the case and was asking when they would stock it since they were filling it and then said in a few weeks but now when you ask they say they stocked it the same time I was asking. Seems they just throw a date and have no idea or are they really stocking it and how often. They sure will charge for a license tho... sad for me as I am a member and cant enjoy fishing cause there scheduke seems off or not really happening. I would suggest to stock it once a month and you would have more visitors. Advertise it on you Facebook page...

Once we found our site (there were 2 available in the whole park) it was a nice size, fairly level, plenty of room on both sides and behind RV. We have a 40’ class A, so the extra room is always appreciated. The park has plenty of grassy areas for walking the dogs and they have the pay app for laundry, which I’m starting to love... so much easier than hauling around rolls of quarters!

Comment: Friendly staff. The rest is not great though. The fishing is suspect. I never caught anything and even if I did I would be hesitant to eat it. Lots of birds walk around looking to be fed. At least two of the geese I saw had fishing line tangled around their legs tight enough that the legs were useless. Very upsetting and doesnt help with the already suspect fishing. The miniature golf course is in a terrible state. Also there is so much housing development in the area that it doesnt feel like getting away. When the campfire was going and the drinks were flowing I was having a good time.

Comment: Well it really is “Wilderness “ and I do like that about it but I feel like it could be a tad more raked at the sites and around the trash bins. I love the staff, location, and the amenities, however since we do have full time members maybe consider having the store open every day.Things I would like to see changed is to bring the Park up to a modern Wilderness by turning some of the 30amp sites to 50amp! You are no longer serving RVers just from the 70’s and 80’s. We have bigger rigs that require more power and it’s a strain trying to use the 30amp sites. Some of your members are hoarding and the sites are starting to look like a refugee camp. Maybe you would consider donating some of your ducks/geese to another park to thin them out some. I’m so afraid of hitting one and that would really hurt me. Over all I love this park and will continue to work to help make it a better place to stay yet keep it wild.

Comment: Made reservations through our Thousand Trails Membership. We were told by staff that they don’t allow reserving a specific site, but they guaranteed a site would be available when we arrived. We arrived, and were told to drive in and “choose” a spot. What a joke! No full hook up spots were available. They were all occupied by “Long Term” Members. Judging by the filthy condition of these spots, and the run down condition of numerous makeshift sheds and blue tarp structures, and the knee high height of the weeds, we felt we were in a run down mobile home park. Staff could have been honest when we called to make reservations, but they chose to lie about promising a guaranteed spot. There were no spots available. They admitted there have not been any spots available. They informed us they did not anticipate any full hookup spots to be available until some of the “Long Term Members” decided to leave. This entire facility is unkempt and in poor repair. From structures to landscape to utilities it is completely sub standard. We called Thousand Trails to notify them and that was just as useless as the attempt to camp at Wilderness Lakes. (Better name would be Wilderness Flies, a subsidiary of Thousand Thieves). My advice, stay away and don’t waste your money on a Thousand Trails Membership. They have zero concern for anything you have to say and they rate an F in customer service.

Comment: Employees are friendly and courteous. Campground is alright by TT standards. My only concern is be careful with the power on your sight. Check it when you check in and check it periodically during your stay. Doing so may save you some repairs. Dont think that because you have a surge protector, you are safe, that would not be true. Other than that we have always enjoyed this campground.

Comment: Love the RV park as it is beautiful and so much to do there. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The geese are hanging out so the only drawback is there can be a lot of goose droppings. The location is great as it is away from the hectic life but still really close to stores.

Comment: Easy check in! Friendly staff. Only one pool operational and it sounds like the other poor was out of commission at one point in recent history. Rental cabin was clean... Shower head should be replaced! Water is more of a stream than a shower. No tub stop available and small child in our party. The pull out sofa bed needs replaced. The mattress is disconfigured, some of the metal wires to hold mattress up are broken. 2 laundry facilities for entire park... One had 2 out of 4 washers working. Close to town which is rare in our experience for Thousand Trails. It was a nice visit, just disappointed in the lack of upkeep.

Comment: Great place to spend the winter. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful.Diverse waterfowl. Love the Mallards and Canadian Geese!Excellent amenities, multiple bathrooms, showers, laundry rooms, heated pool and jacuzzi, horse shoe pits, shuffleboard, tennis courts, family lounge and separate adult lounge. Family pool and separate adult pool areas. Country store with things that you actually need...lol. Manned security gate. Fishing, and even a weekend train ride for the kids! Almost forgot to mention the baseball field and basketball courts. And a wilderness area! Oh, and a kitchen with decent prices! The only bummer drag, heavy sigh, is being able to get a spot! They stay busy because of the excellent location!!!

Comment: Very large park. The attraction is all of the kids there to play together. No one mentions the smell of the chicken coops the flows over the park once or twice a day. They charge now $2/per package delivery. The ponds are dirty water, not something you want to sit by and enjoy. Not really any grass areas for dogs to do their business. It also floods, so watch the weather.

Comment: A unique experience. The city of Mennifee has encroached on this campground. However, there is still a nice peacefull vibe. The man made canal runs throughout the park. Lots of Geese, Ducks and other birds. The canal looks green and murky at times, buy they stock it with catfish. Its a great place to bring kids on the weekend, lots of activities, swimming pools and they will catch fish. Bluegill, Catfish, even small bass and an occasional Carp can be caught. Some 50 Amp sites and mostly all full hookups. We always manage to have fun here.

Comment: I lived in this rv park for more than two years and I still love the place. The activities and staff were all kind and friendly but they still did their jobs. Their were sometimes when the gossip got bad but it wasn’t aimed towards campers. The store was well overpriced but it was meant for people who were to lazy to drive to the store. The weekend activities were great. My favorite activity was candy bar bingo because they gave out full size candy bars even though the activity was free. The candy bar bingo their is different then other bingos and their “their can only be one winner per game” rule. Once one person won, the game continued until there was either little numbers left to role, they started a new round, or they had little candy bars to give out. The fly’s were really bad but they only come out during the winter when it cooled off. The stench in the air stopped when the cow farm left so the only bad smell you get is when the chicken smell blows in which barely happens. Overall this place was a great place to live and camp at.

Comment: Upon arrival we were told they were out of maps of the park. So we proceeded to look for an available space without any type of guidance . The park is huge, without a map we were lost. We couldnt figure out where we had already looked. Plus we couldnt figure out which sites were 50 or 30 amp electrical service. We stopped, got out, and checked several of the electric hook up boxes. All found were 30 amp. Finally after what seemed like a long while we found people cleaning up a rental cabin. They had a map and showed us where to look for the 50 amp service. We looked and all were full. The lack of map and information upon check in, help finding our way around the park, and limited 50 amp service has contributed to my low rating. In addition, the dog park area is not centrally located. Again, without a map or verbal directions it was difficult to locate the dog park. We did find some positive points, there are some trees and shaded areas, larger lots than some other Encore or 1000 Trails we have visited. There are 2 pools, one is for adults only.

Comment: I booked my cabin in February for an April stay. Came out here for my nieces wedding so it was 5-6 of us coming. Paid the one nights deposit. A week before my trip I get an email saying I owe $40.00 more than when I booked it and come to find out my whole cabin got changed without me even knowing about it to a smaller one that only slept 3. Linda got it somewhat straightened out but I still ended up paying $20.00 than I expected to. It was nice to find out it did indeed come with linens and towels although I got told when I booked it, it did not come with linens and towels unless you bought a linen package(most of my family still did not bring what they would have needed, even though I told them this beforehand) so having everything here already was a plus. The cabin is cute we got moved to a tt cabin and the price was better compared to us all just staying in a hotel room. We had a few problems with having hot water and getting the TV to work but all in all for the price it was an okay stay.

Comment: The place is decent. Has enough space for enough motor homes. Theres a lot of old people around here, so its more of a laid-back place. I do love the fact that they have a small library with coffee for the guests, as well as pool tables and even two actual pools, one of them alongside a tennis court and an old baseball field. Oh, did I forget about the small gym and the mini golf field? They even stock the lakes with fish and sell the equipment at the convinience store inside the park. Laundry machines tend to malfunction often though.

Like: flea market, kids craft corner, mini golf, arcade games, and a pool for swimming. We will differently come back.

Comment: I am a Thousand Trails member and we stay at Wilderness Lakes all the time. While we like the park, we have several suggestions for maintaining the park. 1) power wash the benches a couple times a week throughout the park to remove the feces from the animals so people can actually sit on them and enjoy the canals, etc; 2) check the spaces after people check out because they have been leaving them filthy (never clean up their ashes, cigarettes butts everywhere; trash, batteries, etc.) If members, penalize them by a warning first, then suspension for a week, then suspension for a month, then suspend their membership. If public, dont allow them in the park again; 3) Get those picnic tables painted; 4) Follow-up with staff to make sure they complete the job they were given. Someone left their black tank open when they left and feces was dripped all over the road. I heard the manager tell a staff member that that needed to be cleaned up but it was never done; 5) The bathroom stalls need the rust scrapped off and repainted; 6) Have a beautify our park day where guests volunteer to go around the park and help clean up or can paint tables, etc. I am sure there are members that would help. I know me and my husband would. In fact, my husband used to be a painter.; and finally 7) You need to have the trash bins emptied more often so they never get to the point of overflowing onto the groundAs a final note, to the people who come and stay at this park, remember, the staff here are not your parents, and are not responsible to clean up after you so dont leave your spaces in a pig sty and do it yourselves. If you use the barbecue, clean out the ashes and dont leave them for the next guest to do. Every time I come here, ours has had ashes left in it and we have had to clean it out. We dont even use it but clean it out anyway. Be respectful of other people and allow them to enjoy their camping experience.

Comment: I had a great time there because I can make a great time anywhere for myself. But as far as the place service and environment it was sub par. We used a mobile home there and it had electric problems when we first came. The place may have a good assortment of wildlife like snakes for you. Even if you have a fishing license you still have to pay 10 dollars a day to fish in the dirty short lake they provide. That could of been included in the price of the mobile home. I fished 3 days and caught a crawfish I used for bait and on the 3rd day I got the news that it cost to fish there. Still not good to pay when fish are only in one part of the lake

Comment: Very dated. Old circulars hanging on walls in clubhouse (10-15 years old!), miniature golf course in bad shape, septic didnt work on-site, some very old rigs with so much junk sitting around it looks like they havent moved in months. But staff was very nice, lots of family activities - but only on weekends. Wish there was more family activities during week while school out for summer. Comment: We stayed here for 3 weeks, 2 were free because of our Thousand Trials membership, and it was absolutely amazing. The views from our spot were beautiful and even though its a huge park with many people that never took away from the experience. Everyone on the staff was friendly and willing to help. Several times I needed my packages to be held at the office and they always did so without a fuss. We never used the showers, but the laundry house worked out nicely for our stay. The only con would be the trash cans. There are several around the park and unfortunately with so many people they fill up quickly. This attracts lots of flies. Its not that big of a deal if you have a spot futhur away, but for us it became a big nusience. All this being said, we would definitely stay here again.

Store sb open everyday to accommodate business in the summer. Overall resort is beautiful with country attitude. Staff is friendly & courteous & helpful. It maintains & cleans the bathroom, adult pool, & grounds regularly keeping flies to a minimum. I also learned that the site has a good work ethic by helping provide dinner for 80 baseball families that had a prior engagement elsewhere go wrong in short notice. Very impressive. Comment: Wow....just WOW! This was our first stay at this Thousand Trails Resort and being members of TT I have to say that this park is one of our favorites. We are a couple (he, 51 and her 46) that recently chose to live in our RV full time for the adventure of travel but this park makes us want to stay put. The VERIZON signal was good enough to stream movies without being boosted. TV signals with our cheapo TV antenna pulled in quit a few local channels and while we do not have satellite TV our neighbors had no problem using their Tailgater system despite the beautiful shade trees. The sights are the biggest I have seen in any park I have ever stayed in although some sights are bigger than others I have not seen any site on the small side and we walked through the park daily. There is a quiet and heated adult pool with a hot tub and two showers as well a a HUGE family pool with two more hot tubs. The Family Pool is right next to the snack bar and family rec hall. There is also an adult rec hall near the adult pool. This park also has a gym with a weight machine, treadmills and elliptical machines. It is not a huge gym but it is as big if not bigger than most Hotel gyms. The normal Pickle Ball and Shuffle Board courts in really nice condition. Campers here seem to all be in a good mood and friendly. In our 3 weeks here we were invited to several cocktail hours and dinners just from hanging out at the pool or hot tub. We made great new friends here and can not wait to return. There is shopping of all kinds close by. There does seem to be a lot of flies around here but they are certainly not a show stopper. Also the water fowl will practically come up to your door and knock for a free hand out. We were here in the spring so the baby ducklings and geese were a lot of fun to have visit our site daily for their feeding. If you are a walker I have discovered that if you walk around the outside perimeter road (and dont cut corners) it is exactly 1.25 miles per lap. This lap will take you by both pools, the pickle ball and shuffle board courts, the country store (sells a little of everything from ice to fishing gear to beer to ice cream) the recreation halls, and of course the front gate. You can have mail sent to you here but it cost $2 dollars per package for a handling fee. UPS and FEDEX do NOT come to your spot. The packages will be dropped at the front gate and a message will be left on a message board to alert you of your package delivery by the park staff. You then must come to the front gate and hand over the 2 bucks per package. Kind of inconvenient but at least they do allow you to get mail there. Oh!....and you can only pick it up twice per day 10:00 to 11:00 am and 4:00 to 5:00 pm.....super stupid if you ask me but the guys were not to put out to help you out if you came in outside the hours if they were not to busy. All in all a awesome time here and I would highly recommend a visit to find out if you have as good of time as we did!

Comment: The guests were very peaceful and quiet. However, the geese, ducks, and other waterfowl are out of control and quite aggressive. They squawk much of the night. They hover and sit near or on picnic tables, grounds and the RVs. I think this is due in part to the fact that people feed them and this is partly encouraged by the sale of duck feed in the on grounds store. Never a good idea to feed wildlife. This practice should be discontinued and discouraged. The droppings are everywhere, especially on sites adjacent to the canals. Makes for tricky business to go out for campfires after dark. Bring lots of bug spray as the flies are intense. The lack of free WiFi and cable TV was a disappointment and seems like a basic amenity for a resort. We arrived after dark and were told to just find a vacant campsite. This was a bit challenging in a place we had never visited. We relocated the following day. Preassigned campsites would be more preferred when there is a reservation. The facilities were generally clean and the grounds otherwise well-kept. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, not confident I would return.

Comment: This particular Thousand Trails park is getting 1 star because you cant rate 0. My family has been going to this park for years we have held our family reunion here at least 12 years now. This year the park has a new person booking things and it was horrible. All of our guests were spread out in the park we were not able to be placed in our usual spot that allowed us to keep our games and family together. They over booked the park and stuck some unknowing guest in the cabin in the very middle of our multiple cabins and campers so that other guest was very upset. One of the staff members started screaming at our kids at the pool and then was yelling at my 8 1/2 month pregnant sister in law. It was just not the friendly helpful staff we use to do business with at all. The other issue we are now experiencing is with this VERY EXPENSIVE membership we pay and have had for over 20 years the park staff will not allow my Dad and Brother to leave and reenter the park unless my mom is present because she is the card holder of membership. They stay at this same park 3 weeks and leave for a week, which they have been doing for over a year now and all of sudden new staff and they want to harass my brother and dad for leaving to the store or work. My grandma calls to complain and the man she is talking to actually yelled at her to listen to him and she is wrong !! Isnt the customer always right when doing customer service? Isnt there suppose to be a resolution not an argument? When we are paying well over $5000 in membership fees we expect to be treated with respect from anyone representing the business. Wilderness Lakes you will continue to loose business and be put on blast in all social forums if you can not straiten out your employees and park rangers.

Comment: I went to this RV park to spend the day with my in laws who have a membership there. They had a large lot for the RV as it was in the corner. We took our three kids to the pool and spent a few hours swimming. Parking at the pool is limited, its better to walk or ride bikes. We also rode the train. It was nice for the kids. At the cost of $0.25 per person, you get a ride around the park. Overall, we had a great time. In my opinion, the park looks a little run down, but Im not to familiar with RV parks so I cant really compare.

Comment: I went here for the first time today. I did like the little cabin rentals they had as they seemed very nice. The one major thing I did not like at all was the fact that as I was walking along side one of the lakes I noticed many dead fish floating in the water. The water was green and had trash in it. The dead fish had flies swarming them which I found very disgusting as people fish there. I would stay away from fishing there because the fish are dying due to the high algae and bacteria in the water. Not only that the ducks and swans are likely at risk of getting sick. It was nasty and I pointed it out to one of the owners of the park. She seemed not to concerned. I wont be returning simply because the upkeep of the lakes are poor and the owners and rangers should be more aware and take much better care of them.

Comment: The gate staff is very friendly. The sites are wide. Beyond that I would not stay here again. I found it to have many seemingly down trodden full timers. I felt the need to secure outdoor things like grills and chairs. Just seemed like a lot of questionable RVrs. We walked by one site that had an expired pass, and the sewer hose was not attached but left dripping who knows what on the ground. A grounds person drove right by it and did nothing. Also people playing extremely loud music. Not our cup of tea.

Comment: The showers could be better, but the one think that is extremely annoying are the geese honking at 3 in the morning. They tend to wake u up too early. Dont get me wrong, they are pretty, but not in the early hours. Oh and the stench from the farm next door is bad, if the winds are blowing in the direction of the campground. We did however, enjoyed the pool, the weather was awesome, and the staff at the front gate was very nice as well! !

Comment: It is a decent park. They have two very nice pool areas, a good workout room, a great adult lodge, and even a little arcade room in the family lodge. Their showers could be better, but whatever. When visiting though, be prepared to endure many ducks and geese (and their droppings), the sour stench of the next door dairy farm, and a dirty pond/river thing. When traveling through the state it is a nice park to park at, but I personally do not prefer to stay very long :)

Comment: Seems to attract seniors and little kids. Will need to have vehicle to travel to stores and such. The general store is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and closes by 5. We got stuck w/o the general store our entire stay. And the lodge is only open on the weekends. Swimming and mini-golf besides some catfish fishing is ALL the fun you can have. The ducks and geese love to be fed and will wander through your campsite scavenging. They make noise all day and way intro the night. And hold your breath if the wind changes course; next to a cow farm.We had an issue where our water hose busted late one night. The next morning I called the front office and asked about a spare water hose. No luck. Asked about he closest store in walking distant, the response... you dont have a car? So.......... no help from the staff. No offer for a ride, nothing. I was only staying 2 nights and didnt need a car. Especially when you think they will have a store available to you for items forgotten or need to replenish. Wont be back........

Comment: This is a pretty nice RVe Park. I think it could use a little more TLC outside. It is really dry and doesnt have much grass throughout the park. Employees are kind and knowledgeable.
