THIS is the pizza Ive craved, though Ive never been here before! As soon as I landed at the airport, I placed a takeout order and picked it up as planned, an 1hr later! It worked out perfectly!Sooo glad I didnt stop at a burger joint as my growling stomach requested en route.12 NY round: mushroom, black olive. $18-ishIts my go-to order around the US.Crust is chewy, cooked through, slightly firmer on the bottom, with crunchy/ chewy pizza bones. (Im not from around here, thats the edge of the pie that give it support)The toppings were not skimpy. The mushroms - real, not canned. This sauce and cheese give it that honest pizza taste that the big chains just cant compete with.Yum.
Great little pizza place! The wood fired pizza was excellent- great crust with a slight char, not too tough or dry, with a crisp bottom that was not soggy. Really enjoyed the taste of the crust, as well as the pie itself, which was pesto, shrimp, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. Definitely check this place out
Ordered takeout and we were quite pleased with what we got. The small is more than enough for two people. We were told it would be about 15-20 min for the pizza and it was done under ten which was awesome. The pizza was very good and we’ll even have leftovers for later!
Its been along time since I had some authentic Italian made pizza.Pure quality ingredients used to make there pizza.Crispy crust on the bottom and soft on top.The pepperoni was delicious as well as rest of the meats.Great waitress with a good sense of humor.I highly recommend Tivolis.Blows away the chain pizza spots.
1st time customers. Ordered meatball pizza w/a small antipasto salad. Well Ill tell you. You would NEVER believe its a brick wood fire process pizza. Those are meatballs? Then let me tell about this imposter antipasto salad. They first tryed to cram the salad into a container that is far too small. And where is the olives got 1. Could you spare it? Tomatoes looked 10days past the expiration. Not impressed at all. That is no $15 pizza.
Tivolis is always great. Their food is fresh, light & authentic. We love Their meatballs with sauce & fresh mozzarella, their house salad with roasted red peppers & Green olives and their wood fire thin crust pizza. We had chicken, Artichokes, spinach & mushrooms on ours. Their crust, sauce & cheese are very simple & light. You feel good, you feel healthy & happy after eating at Tivolis! The atmosphere is simple but classic here too; brick walls with Itallian movie posters & antique photos on walls. Wooden benches & tables to sit around. It is always a full house at dinner time. You know it is good!
Absolutely wonderful food and people. Came in from Florida for a few days and wanted a legit wood fired pizza. This establishment did not disappoint. Top notch food and much quicker than one would think. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. Loved the decor also. The owner also hand makes the desserts. I highly recommend and will be back.
COMFORT FOOD!!! Always a good choice if youre not feeling well, so busy you have no idea what to eat, and if you really want a good taste of home. Home cooking, fresh ingredients, and really good customer service. If you want a good wood fired pizza this is the place, but if you want to feel at home, anything from here will do the trick!
Is you time worth anything? I would not even give this restaurant 1 star.My husband and I went last night around 6:30pm.The wait for a table was only 5 minutes. We were seated and ordered our pizza and calzone, nothing to complicated. We waited, and waited, and waited. We continued to see a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up their orders. Meanwhile 45 minutes passed since the waitress put in our order, and still no pizza. When we stopped her to ask how much longer our pizza would be, she said about 15 minutes, because they were very busy with their call in customers.Moral of the story, they don’t care about their restaurant customers, and unless you have an hour to spend waiting and waiting, don’t waste your time. Shame on them!
Didnt know this place existed until I went on a date. I loved the pineapple and ham and the semolina on the bottom. More places need to use semolina it helps with the pizza experience. This place has it all. Plus the wood fire baked pizza is the best. Adding 3 flavors for my pizza, the sweet and sour from the pineapple, a savory sweet from the ham and the kicker is the slight ashy burnt taste from the wood fire. Take into account that lovely flavor with your toppings that the wood fire will give and youll be pleasantly happy.
I used to be a frequent regular here, but I will never spend my money here again and I actively encourage my friends and anyone else reading this to go elsewhere.Apparently, ordering within an hour of closing is such a horrible offence to them that they will tamper with your food. I bought a large ny round and a calzone, only to discover that they put a literal leaf in my pizza. Like they went outside, got a leaf off of a tree or the ground or something, and stuffed it partially under the cheese. My calzone was supposed to be carnivore with meatballs, like I always got, but this time it was utterly crammed with mushrooms, but they were hidden under the cheese and away from the rest of the toppings so I didnt know until I bit into it. This is how you treat your regulars? I was fine with over paying for the pizza here at first because they seemed like a quality restaurant, now I understand its no different than little ceasars from the hood. When my little sister went to pick it up for me (I was sick at the time) they were rude to her and glared at her just because she had a mask on.To the owner and anyone else who might think Im lying, I have proof. I have the date of the purchase, the card used to get it, the exact amount I paid for it as well as several family members who were equally upset. By the time we realized the food wasnt trust worthy, your store had already closed and wouldnt answer the phone. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture before we threw it out. You took $41.44 on 4/20/21 from me and gave me the middle finger in return.
This is our favorite place to come and dine in when it comes to authentic wood oven brick pizza. This place does get filled fast. The resturants a little on the small side but the servers and staff always try their best to accommodate everyone.I know alot of places have been understaffed so please, Be nice to everyone and treat the staff and everyone with respect! Theyre trying their hardest to make sure you eat tonight! With that said my boyfriend and I always get their margarita pizza and their cheese bread is always a must have. Dont believe us? Try it! Pizzas always amazing never burned. Flavors amazing! Never really had anything wrong whenever we go dine there! We always keep coming back!
Amazing customer service and great food cooked to order! We tried a chicago style and a thin crust pizza, both were excellent. The bruschetta caprese and cheese bread were also good. If you are in a hurry go somewhere else, this was a great sit down restaurant with hard working, kind staff. Very friendly. The ingredients were noticeably of very high quality and prices were cheap for what you get when you eat there.
One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Definitely a nice change in style compared to the big chain pizza places. It is a little more pricey but worth it every once in a while to change it up. As for the garlic bread....it was amazing! I would literally stop in just for those!
Tivoli’s food is always fresh and great tasting! The customer service is amazing. I stopped in on a busy Friday night to pick up a carry out, had to wait about 10 minutes which was not a big deal at all. They seated me at a table and gave me a glass of water while I waited and then gave me a carry out of cannolis with the rest of my order, just for waiting! They were hands down best cannolis I’ve ever heard and I really appreciated it!!
We really liked this place. I didnt want to go because I AM SICK OF PIZZA. 😁 However, I will got over it here. The meatball dish was and salads are highly recommended. We got the thinner crust pizza which was very good. I think its a crust for minimal topping with not many veggies because of water content. The service was impeccable and there was not a wait. Menu is not huge but authentic Italian pizza fare.
BEWARE!I loved this place despite its inconsistent, lazy, sometimes incompetent service (proof, thus, of bad management), also DONT ORDER their insanely overpriced underwhelming caprese! The pizza is unique and good. But throughout Covid theyve been MASKLESS.Once mightve been a fluke, but its not.Im sure theyre talking about sales being down.I used to go there a couple times a month. No longer, Ive been twice in a year.Sad.Theyve lost my business, my friends, and my familys business.Im going to add that I managed restaurants for 20 years (fine dining, ethnic restaurants, pizza, pasta, chop house, family restaurants, Ive done it all). I started in the back and ended up a GM--so I probably know more about the restaurant business than they do.Now I have a PhD specializing in the politics of PANDEMICS (so I know way more about covid than you can even imagine, and if you disagree with my review, youre wrong because Im an expert and youre not).Sensible folks in the restaurant business are doing okay. Its the lazy, stupid ones that arent. So many idiots, sad to see that Tivolis is as incompetent in service as in thought and politics.
We ordered two large pizzas and the total came out to over $50, plus tip!! Which even though, it seemed expensive I had high hopes for the quality. Unfortunately, the pizza was just okay, barely any sauce. The pizzas were good sized for larges, but Im not sure it was worth the price.
Great local pizza place. Small and cozy inside with a good view of the kitchen so you can watch them make all of the pizzas. Wait staff is very friendly. Drink selection is lacking compared to other places, but the staple beer and wine is there. The pizza itself is very good. Not the best pizza Ive had in my life ever ever, but very good and worth trying out. It just might be your new favorite! The different styles of cooking will keep you coming back until you try them all. Biggest gripe is the price, but its good pizza and worth it...just cant make it a regular thing.
First time there thought all pizza was from wood oven not!- I ordered a pizza with sliced tomato it said on menu not!! Were lil round ones cut in half!! Ordered 2 canollis- so sm & not even nothing on them no powered sugar terrible - expensive !!! 1 pizza 1 cheese bread 2 canollis $37 !!## will not be back
If you like very “doughy” crust, well then this is the place for you. Tried a “New York style” round, the sauce was decent but it was completely overpowered by the doughy bread taste. For the price, $20 large cheese/pepperoni... it should have been 4x as good as a $5 Hot n Now at Little Caesars... well it wasn’t. I was really hoping it was gonna be as good as the reviews. Disappointing
Been wanting to try this place for a while, had dinner at Tivolis tonite and WOW! is that pizza good. Tried two of their pies and some salad, everything was delicious. The wood fired crust is exceptional, so too are the meats, cheeses and fresh veggies. Service was friendly and classy. Atmosphere cozy. I definitely plan on dining here often.
Really great food, even greater service; I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anybody looking for authentic Italian food with a wine selection that undoubtedly complements the menu items.I will definitely be going back regularly. The place reminded me a lot of when I stayed with some of my family in Sicily. This place had a wonderful atmosphere and they really go out of their way to make you feel like they WANT you to enjoy yourself and be a part of the family, so to speak.11/10.
We went here in the summer and it was excellent. The wood fired pizza was great and everything was so authentic, right down to the staff. Our 2nd visit was in the winter and it was not as great. It was very cold in there. Every time the door opens the whole place gets a blast of cold air. The pizza was not as hot or crisp as you would want a wood fired pizza pizza to be.
Been coming here since I was a kid and I love their pizza, in my opinion it’s the best in this county hands down. Known Tony the server and Larry the owner most of my life. I would recommend the hotdog and artichoke heart pizza, it sounds eclectic (and it is) but it’s really flipping good. Good selection of Italian pop as well, SAN Pellegrino Lemonade is the way to go. Cheese bread and sauce is great too. 10/10
I dont wanna lower your guyses rating because over all the pizza was decent but when I called I told the girl it was my first time trying you guys and asked what is your guyses best seller or special the only thing the girl could really tell me was it was gunna be a hr wait I wish I would of seen the family feast with the large pizza and salad sticks and cannolis for 37 bucks I payed 30 and change just for the pizza and stick I definitely would of sprung for the extra 7 for a salad and cannolis just wish the girl could of given me a few options I wasnt going to leave a review but I decided to look at the minute that someone stuck in our pizza box last nite and seen that family feast one which is kinda upsetting.
Food is good but the customer service needs improvement.Me, my 8 months pregnant wife and a friend were awaiting around 20 minutes for a table with just 2 people ahead of us.Meanwhile another 2 parties with the same amount of people we had walked in and got seated right away while we were still awaiting for table. They clearly need to improve the communication among the employees and manage the waiting area better.
Got a chance to visit this place tonight. There was no table available and my wife, kids and me decided to order three pizzas for takeout. I was told it will take about 15-20 min. We have been waiting in the car. When I came back to pick up the pizza one of the tables was available and I did ask waitress if we can stay and eat. She said sure, and because kids were already really hungry we stayed and ordered something to drink. In a few minutes after we sat down the lady came and said she is the manager here and what ever we just did they dont accept. If we order take out we cant stay because it messed up their job. She spoke loud enough, so other people were staring at us. I am not the cheap person who is trying to do not pay tips. It was just a particular situation. Instead of bon appetit we got this experience. Definitely need customer service improvement!Pizza was great though 👌
While I have been searching for the perfect pizza forever , I may have come close . However I was disappointed when they said it would be ready in 20 minutes and when I picked it up in exactly 20 minutes and got out to the car , I couldnt wait to get back home to try it so I grabbed a slice and it was already cold . If its done in 10 minutes , dont tell me 20 please . I dont like cold pizza . So I decided to give them another chance . If they told me 20 minutes I would be there in 10 and wait . I called to place an order and they told me 35 minutes ! Why ? So it can sit there and get cold again ? I told them never mind . Ill go somewhere else .
This is the best pizza Ive had in this state! Thank God I found this place, after moving here I was afraid Id never enjoy a pizza again, then, I went into Tivolis. Great food, great service, and a pleasent atmosphere. I enjoy hearing Italian music while I enjoy some pizza and a good glass of vino.
Such good pizza. Literally, I dont know of another joint this north of Chicago that makes Chicago style pizza the right way! Diverse customer base too, not that that really matters, but it just goes to show how kind and helpful the staff is. Heard 2 different languages in the 1 vist Ive made to this place. 10/10 recommend if I could give more stars I would! Great work guys! Stellar service and food!
Delicious!!! Tivolis offers wood Brick Oven, Chicago-style, round and square pizzas all made with the freshest ingredients and the pizza is truly worth the cost. Their prices are only slightly higher then your chain Pizza delivery places. They do not deliver but you can dine in or order ahead and carryout.
We ordered a deep dish and a square pizza. They were both terrible. I usually only write reviews that are positive but both of these were so terrible that we had to throw them both in the trash after paying over $40+ for 2 small pizzas. Believe me, we will never order from this place again!
Italian being spoken in the kitchen of the 40 year old establishment. A lovely antipasto of mixed greens and high quality ham and salami and an incredible pizza that our party loved for the dough alone. Cant recommend highly enough. Very fast, friendly and reasonably priced.
Ive only had the pizza here, and its excellent. There are two types, thin crust and the regular round pizza, one size. We order the regular round, and its delicious. We typically do carry out, and on more than one occasion its been a bit chaotic & difficult when ordering over the phone, but the pizza is worth it.
This restaurant is my favorite. I go to plenty of restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The team is very welcoming and the food they serve is so appetizing. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.
Went to Tivolis for the first time tonight, and experienced terrible service by our waitress. She was an older woman, and did not seem very friendly. She was also extremely slow, and the other waitress working did more for us, like get our boxes after a while and pay our bill. We waited about 20 minutes between her giving us our bill, and finally having the other waitress take our payment. This other woman was doing other tasks and was not very concerned about us as customers. Otherwise, food was good and there is a nice, casual atmosphere. But this older woman made the experience terrible, and I probably wont return.
If you are going to sell pizza in the north Macomb County area you better have your game on point. A big reason for this is that there are places like Tivolis out there that set the bar extremely high. The place is small but they manage their tables well and its not often that you have to wait for a place to sit down. The pizza is fantastic and authentic. I just love a pizza made in a wood fired oven with the almost burnt crispy edges of the crust...it adds to the deliciousness of what is already Gods food gift to us. If you havent tried Tivolis do yourself a favor and stop in for a pie. You can thank me later.
Just went in to pick up our food and no one was wearing a mask (waiter, hostess, cooks, etc.). Inconsiderate and selfish to not wear a mask to protect their customers and their food. We threw the pizza away. My husband is high risk and we aren’t going to risk eating breathed on salad and pizza. The least Tivolis can do is wear a mask. So inconsiderate of other people.
Order came wrong, ordered a Meatball panini, Steak Panini, and Cannolis. Received a Meatball pizza, Steak Panini, and no cannolis. Called the restaurant to find out what went wrong, could hear them saying in the background Its a door dash order, we dont care. Terrible customer service, food was mediocre, steak panini was missing steak on one half and the pizza was underdone. Sucks cause weve been customers for awhile now but will never order from here again.
Rude owner manager and passive rude staff member. The crust is very thin and small. Was still hungry after spending $12 for an onion topping thin crust. Owner treated customer outrageously obxioxious for making a true complaint. He took it personal instead of apologizing and acting gracious. The owner will immaturely cuss you out like a 12th grader if you complain so beware. Bon appetite.
Rude service. Except for the 2 of us, the place was empty. We sat by the windows (of course) and we were asked to move to another table because that table is only for larger parties. The OWNERs rule I was told after we sat down and challenged the waitress. I was actually introducing someone new to the place; not anymore!
Worst service ever!! Thought we’d give them a second chance after previous visit where my kids were serverd sour milk. Stood at the door, with my family - at a half filled restaurant and was never acknowledged for 10 minutes! 3 waitress walked right by numerous times... like we weren’t even there. Never - ever setting foot in this place again!!! Apparently they don’t need my business, perhaps they don’t need yours as well.
Nit what ive heard went today they made my pizza wrong. I drove firty minutes get it n back home find it wasnt what i ordered. I called they didnt do anythung. Spent thirty dollars couldve had steak dinner for two.what i disapointment. The pizza was ok. But nithn brag about.

2022-01-08Excellent pizzas. Wood fired pizzas are my favorite here. Ambience is relaxed. Overall a great place. Restaurant gets very busy in the evening with 30minutes+ wait. So, plan ahead.

2022-06-19Love everything about this place. The salads. Homemade dressings. Brick oven pizza. Homemade pizza sauce. Its overwhelmingly good. Dine in is a must.

2022-02-12Solid pizza - I pretty much ate the one pie myself. First timer. I would ask for it to stay in the fire oven a bit longer next time.

2022-01-26Love the pizza. Hate the indoor setup. Its a small place and only one door. So while youre trying to eat, every single time someone walks in, you get a huge rush of cold air inside. Its a constant Rollercoaster of hot and cold. I wore my coat the entire time inside. Would probably only do carryout from now on. Pizza is good tho

2022-05-16They have no idea what a NY style pizza is. This is what they’re charging nearly $20 for a small & claiming is NY style. The crust is way too think & slices way too small for NY style.

2021-07-17Hands down my favorite pizza joint. Their wood-fired deliciousness makes me want to cry. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes for your pie because a pizza this good cant be rushed. Plus, all restaurants are a bit slower right now. Have patience and a cold Peroni. Itll be worth it

2022-04-21One word to describe this place, phenomenal! To the woman who gave me 2 free cannolis (pretty sure she was the owner) you are a wonderful person. Let me tell you, I dont even like cannolis really. But then I tasted hers and it was to die for. The pizza is also so amazing, top quality Italian restaurant. I don’t know how it gets any better than this.🤌🤌

2021-05-06Amazing pizzeria. They make authentic pizzas. I always go for the classic margarita pizza aka Napolitano pizza and Im never disappointed. The sauce, crust, flavor, etc. is on point. Try it once and youll definitely love it!

2021-06-05Before my husband and I came we read a lot of reviews on this place. There are mostly good ones and as far as the bad ones go, people are silly! The pizza was exactly what you get with a wood brick oven, thin, crispy and nice and hot! It was delicious. Canolies were excellent as well! Our waitress Valentina was friendly and very helpful! We will be back for more!

2022-06-11They got rid of their large New York pizza. Used to be a 5 star joint. Now it’s a 2. Bring back the large New York and I will change my review back. I ordered from here at least twice a month for the last 10 years. To pay 30 bucks for a wood firepizza that feeds 1 person is a joke.
