I booked Touch of Elegance for month of wedding planning. I worked directly with Carrie and she went above and beyond to help with the planning including helping me to direct my design and wedding vision and she booked a couple of vendors and shopped around to the best quote! During the weekend of my wedding, Carrie was super helpful in setting up and tearing down the decor, coordinating all of our vendors and making sure our day ran smoothly.I noticed a couple of the other reviews mention lack of responsiveness. I experienced this slightly when trying to communicate via email. I found that Carrie was super helpful when I was able to schedule a call through a link that she provided after I was a client.Overall I would recommend Carrie as a planner and event designer. She was able to help the weekend run smoothly and was helpful in creating a vision of the event!

Carrie was very attentive and was able to deliver just as we wanted and dreamed for our daughter’s beautiful wedding! So easy to work with and everything went so well and smooth! Highly recommend!

Touch of Elegance has been just terrible to work with. Our initial call with Carrie went fantastic. She mentioned that she would follow up and had completely disappeared for about 3 weeks. No communication or whatsoever. Trying to get a hold of her or someone at the company is almost imposible. This was after paying our down payment deposit. I understand they maybe busy, but I really hope someone is able to rectify and work with the clients they take on.For future planners, be very careful when booking this company for wedding planning. I should have read other reviews which were quite similar experience as mine.I will update this review if I get a follow up call from someone at this wedding planning company.

Carrie and her assistant really went above and beyond for our wedding. Carrie scheduled monthly check-ins with me but also was available for any emergency calls. I spend the entire reception of my wedding worry free because Carrie took lead in working with all our vendors so everything went off without a hitch - truly! I dont know how many brides can say that. Would highly recommend her to any bride in the DMV area.

We booked Carrie for my daughters wedding that was suppose to be in May of 2020. Unfortunately COVID had different plans. It was a roller coaster ride with all the planning and replanning and replanning again, however Carrie was amazing through it all. She was always very responsive and very helpful with all our questions. When it came down to the day of the wedding she was on top of her game. When an issue arose she took care of it all. We are very happy with our experience and would book her again in a heart beat.

First of all - Ive never written a google review. But this one must be posted. I have been in business for 32 years - Ive worked with many vendors. I really wanted to make this work with Carrie. She seemed authentic and caring. It was so important to me that our daughters wedding was perfect and everything she wanted. So six months into our contract when we were not getting any response from Carrie - either by phone, email or text, I looked at her reviews again. Thats when I saw she was doing the same to other paying customers. No answer to texts and emails, excuses upon excuses. My biggest mistake was that I paid Carrie *up front* for everything -- full service wedding planning. She agreed to refund half of our $6,400. We were to receive it mid-September. Our attorney sent demand letters, we sent emails and texts. To no avail. Everything went unanswered. She kept the $3200. My advice is plain and simple -- Do NOT do business with Carrie Gentry.

I thought long about writing this review but I feel others need to be informed. I booked Carrie in July of 2018 and my wedding was scheduled for May 2019. After speaking to Carrie on the phone I felt an immediate connection to her and she was very helpful with different ideas for venue locations. This was all even before hiring her. After shopping around I decided Carrie was a great choice from her reviews and like I said, instant connection when speaking. I hired Carrie for Month/Day of coordination and I was so excited. After making my deposit I didnt hear from her. She never reached out to check in, never provided a checklist or any sort of assistance I can follow along on my own leading up to the wedding. She did tell me about the planning pod website she has for her clients but when I logged on there was nothing for me to do on it. I thought.. ok well Im only hiring her for month of so maybe thats when she really starts to help? Well by December, I thought I should check in to see if Im on track and to figure out this planning pod website. I emailed and called and didnt hear back. Giving her the benefit of the doubt that it was around the holidays and she may have other weddings shes working with, I let it go. After the new year I reached out again asking for a phone meeting which we had. During the meeting we went over a loose timeline I had already figured out with my photographer and she also talked me through the planning pod website which suddenly had things for me to do. I asked her if I was using it wrong and she said no she hadnt set it up yet. So little frustrating because this is stuff I could have been working on when I had free time. As we started getting closer to the wedding and I still hadnt heard from her. I met with my florist multiple times and during that time they asked me about my planner and how things were going and when I said we were 2 months out and I still hadnt heard from Carrie she said I should start calling. I called and emailed and no response. I got to one month out when Carries contract started and I did not hear from her until I emailed first. She replied with She was in the process of emailing me. I think at one month out we should have had a meeting scheduled. We didnt. She said she would be in touch and she wasnt. After multiple calls and emails from me I FINALLY got in touch with Carrie. I was 3 weeks out from my wedding at this point and freaking out. I was extremely stressed and wondering where my planner was. Feeling very frustrated that Carrie was so hard to get in touch with and had done nothing to help me at this point I decided to go our separate ways. I was able to find a day of coordinator right after and immediately I was sent checklists, guidelines, spreadsheets, things they told me they send to their clients the day they book, which for me would have been months ago. Luckily I happen to be organized and figured stuff out on my ow but these tools could have alleviated a lot of my stress. Carrie also told me should would give me a full refund and send it immediately. 2 weeks passed and I had not received my refund. After numerous calls, emails, and mention of reporting her to the BBB she offered to VENMO me the money...so unprofessional and more stress that was added on so close to my wedding. I just want others to be aware of what your money can actually get you and what you deserve. It doesnt have to be as difficult as it was for me.

My wedding day was absolutely amazing and I never could have pulled it all together without the assistance of Carrie and Touch of Elegance. Their professionalism and planning expertise allowed me to relax and enjoy the day knowing that everything was going be handled with the highest level of care.When my hired florist pulled a disappearing act less than 6 weeks away from my wedding date, Carrie came through with a vendor who exceeded my expectations on short notice and thankfully within my budget. That was worth the fee by itself.My guests had a blast, everything was beautiful and Im so thankful that any issues were handled quickly, discreetly, and professionally. Thank you so much for taking the stress of the day off of me so that I could just enjoy the magic of the wedding.

Carrie and her team at Touch of Elegance are a force to be reckoned with - talented, prompt, calm, and professional. I cannot begin to share all of the ways in which Carrie improved (and saved) our wedding. I recommend her services to anyone who is considering hiring a day-of-coordinator for their wedding. We were married on June 8th, 2019 at the Belle Isle Boat House. The venue is unique and beautiful, but difficult in many ways - you have to bring in everything from tables and chairs to decor. We booked the venue before hiring Carrie, so on our second visit to the venue, we began to get very nervous about our ability to pull off the wedding ... but then we met Carrie. She had solutions to ALL of our questions and concerns. Moreover, even though we only hired her as a day-of-coordinator, she gave us lots of tips during the planning process. On the day of the wedding, the outside of the Boat House flooded. Thats right, flooded. AND the elevator was broken. But once again, Carrie and her team led the charge to save the wedding. We sent all of the groomsmen to be her minions and she put them to work. She re-jigged the ceremony layout, got as much of the decor set-up as possible, and honestly saved our wedding. Our friends and family are still talking about how awesome our wedding was - thank you in part to Carrie and Touch of Elegance.
