I decided to go down anyway to look at the cars, and surprisingly there are RAV4 hybrid available. It turns out that their biz is ‘too good’ and they are trying to moderate their customers in getting in. The moment I was there, all she care about is am I buying NOW!!. Apparently she has enough customers queuing and she doesn’t t even want to talk to me knowing that I am not buying immediately (and who the heck buy a car without allowing them to test drive). Extremely annoying that her interests is not to service customers. I will go and buy a Honda instead, thanks for helping me to make my decision.

Comment: Only use Toyota Sunnyvale service if you plan to have blind faith that the tech will do everything you are paying for, if you even attempt to question, you will be gaslight until you just have to trust them. for 100k service, 820 dollars should include a list of services and a video of the services done and inspection. When questioning work done, Simon Guzman and Jorge Andrade both stated that you need to trust the work was completed, and choose to argue instead of trying to build trust with the customer. They were clearly in the wrong and kept attempting to state facts that simply were not true. look through some of the other review for the service, and you can see I am just one of many disappointed customer. FIND ANOTHER TOYOTA service center to get your car worked on, Sunnyvale is not to be trusted.

Comment: AWFUL DEALERSHIP!When I bought the car months ago service here was friendly and seemingly respectful. Issues occurred months later when I found out the person who sold me my car messed up some of the paperwork, and I spent weeks trying to get ahold of someone who didn’t just transfer me to someone else (and their inboxes are always full for some reason!). Even talked to a man who apparently didn’t work there! When I told the woman on the phone who I spoke to previous she said “we don’t have a ____ working here,” even when I had text messages exchanged with this man saying he spoke to a manager about my issue. Trying to get ahold of anybody specific is like trying to tell a cat to stop meowing… impossible! Found out later that the representative who sold me the car wasn’t even supposed to offer the plan I inquired about in the first place (not that I knew that, but it’s not my job to know that, it’s the salesperson’s job). Unbelievable.

I made sure to book the earliest possible time slot at 7am so I have plenty of time to get to work. After waiting for 1.5hrs, I asked the care coordinator for an ETA, only to be ignored for an hr and then told my car wont be ready till 12pm because they have to diagnose the sensor. Comment: I just had the hands down best experience ever at Toyota Sunnyvale thanks to Tanya. She welcomed me with the biggest smile at 9:00am!! She was so pleasant and kind, while doing her job very fast. When I came to pick up my car the same day at 1:00pm she was there and even remember me. She immediately picked up my paperwork and and got me all set to go. I then went to get my car picked up, and the lady was just taking a tad long, and Tanya immediately went to go figure out what was taking so long. While we waited, we chatted and she is so friendly and easy to talk with. While we talked, she was telling me about all these services I didn’t know where available. That you can have your car picked up if you live nearby which I do. And they’ll even wash your car for you. Tanya then went and washed my car for me!!!!!! When she had returned, she even vacuumed my car and left money she Found while vacuuming in my cupholders. I cannot explain in word how amazing this service was and I only went in for an oil change. Tanya is an amazing employee. I absolutely love her and will be coming back here solely because of her.

Comment: We walked in not knowing what we wanted for a second car. Mr. Delon approached us and was very kind and patient in showing us the variety of cars they had (and also cars in transit). He was knowldedgable and even let us test drive some the cars we were interested in. We didnt decide immediately and we werent pressured into buying anything that day. 2 months later, we decided on the car we wanted and called Mr Delon. He checked their inventory and we were able to reserve The Highlander Hybrid XLE. Another 2wks and were able to purchase the car we wanted with Mr. Delons exceptional and ethical sercive. He was very transparent and honest with the waiting time. So the 5-star is all for his efforts and Toyota Sunnyvale for not having the additional 5k dealerships usually add on top for in demand models. They sell MSRP!Also, do your part before purchasing, review and research. Know all the possible negotiations you can for the payment terms, add ons and inclusives you need. Like any other sales based business, you will be offered other stuff like extended warranties and a lot more. So do your part, ask questions. Dont just buy and then come back with a bad review for things you initially didnt understand.The paperworks took a bit more time but we were offered water, coffee and ice cream while waiting. 😅 We didnt have any other appointments so we didnt mind. Mr. Delon was well aware of this and consistently apologized. They can still can improve in this aspect of their department.In terms of maintenance and service for the car, we are yet to discover. Will be sure to update this review.

However, the person who identified himself as a manager, Steven, was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Instead of assisting me or connecting me with the GM, he callously stated that the GM would not be calling me and abruptly hung up on me.My time has been wasted dealing with Sunnyvale Toyota, and I strongly advise others to save their time and look for a more reputable dealership. Comment: Before walking in, I called and compared 3 Toyota dealerships. Toyota Sunnyvale, Toyota Stevens Creek and Toyota 101 (via Costco). With Toyota 101 the price was ok. The Stevens Creek price was way higher, but they said theyd match the Costco price. Because it was closer, I went to Stevens Creek - it was still a long time and back and forth until they eventually lowered to the Costco price. My first contact with Toyota Sunnyvale - the price was already the lowest of the 3 options. So it was a no-brainer to close with Toyota Sunnyvale. They did make some sort of calculation mistake near the end with the lease terms which I noticed (the monthly payment somehow jumped from 330 to 338 but I couldnt really see that because it got muddied by the trade-in value which reduces the monthly payment). They then corrected the issue and gave me what we agreed on. So stay vigilant and do your math to verify that everything adds up. After we were done, the nice folks in the garage also helped me with a random problem I had with my Onewheel (extracting a bolt I stripped). From arriving to the dealership it took 3.5 hours to drive away with my new leased car. During that time I got a water bottle and a coffee which was great. The person that helped me, Amir, was nice, and Id happily recommend these folks.

However, they suggested changing all four tires, insisting that the issue was due to worn-out tire treads. From exterior color, to internal color, to features and safety mechanisms, he helped me above and beyond to make sure that the car I wanted was on his radar.Im huge about safety, coming from experience with a major car accident in 2012, this car is a must have in making sure that at least the car itself has features that can potentially not only save a life, but also minimize injuries. Comment: Visited this dealership on 12/26/23 with the interest of purchasing a new car and trading in our previous vehicle. I had been a loyal customer to Toyota Sunnyvale before (purchased two previous vehicles 2014 and in 2020). I guess now the second you walk-in post dealership remodel (early 2020) everyone regardless of credit worthiness is subject to a 10% credit interest rate and 60 months. This experience was the worst I have ever encountered, not wiling to meet us in the middle, low balling the trade we had, and all their inventory was reserved. How does this place stay in business?The highlight of this place was Mahi (not sure if that is the correct spelling), the salesperson. He did managed to find two cars that were not reserved and track them down for us to drive.I figured out the answer to my previous question, this place stays alive but making all their customers place a 10K down payment regardless of vehicle purchase. I guess they have to pay for their remodel somehow! Run away from these clowns!

The price is ridiculous; their website did not mention the price when I made appointment. I used to go to Toyota Fremont, so I thought the price should be similar. However, I was only offered three choices, from $1600 to $1900. These choices were given even before they checked my car.Its just a Camry, not a Rolls-Royce; how come maintenance can cost that much? Toyota Fremont used to charge me about 300 to 500 dollars. Why is it so expensive here? I go to Toyota because I dont know too much about the car, so I prefer a safe and easy solution. A higher price is understandable, but $1600 is still way too much. A 3-hour service with $1164 in labor costs? Did they have a massage for the car? Oh, they didnt even try to clean up the dust inside.One more thing: I came there and provided my phone number at 2:57 pm, and I got a spam message saying someone wanted to buy my car at 3:06! Comment: I purchased a used LX 470 back in May. I will preface this vehicle had nearly 150k miles and was a 2006 so nearly 17 years old and I purchased the vehicle as is. I live in MN and decided to fly out to CA to purchase as the vehicle appeared to be a very clean and a rust free example. I paid asking as I was looking for one of the cleaner versions of this type of vehicle and wanted a rust free version.Good - the buying experience was excellent. I dealt with the same individual the entire time. He was extremely responsive and helpful taking every call and providing videos and photos at my request. He also offered and picked me up from the airport since I drove the vehicle back home to MN. Additionally, the truck was absolutely 100% rust free, as described by the salesman and dealership. I have purchased more than 30 vehicles in my lifetime and the buying experience with Sunnyvale was as seamless as I can remember. I was also never pressured to purchase extras as I was completing the deal.Bad - the ride was very rough and handling was poor. the truck felt unsafe above 50 mph (which I didnt find out until I got past Sacramento due to traffic) but I had flown out, previously paid, and essentially felt locked in to purchase as I was driving to a job site part of the way home. The truck made it home with no problem, I got used to the handling but did develop a coolant leak. I took the truck into a certified Toyota/Lexus dealership and found out:1. the vehicle had the incorrect rear springs that fought against the hydraulic suspension. They said this was unsafe to drive and couldnt believe I was fine driving home.2. I had asked if the timing belt was new and was told yes by the dealership. The timing belt was not new when the mechanic pulled the failed water pump and timing belt. Stop leak material was found (glitter) so the coolant leak likely wasnt new.3. All the tire pressure sensors were bad. I had the warning light on at the dealership when I purchased, of course, I was in a rush and figured it wasnt a big deal until I learned 4 of the 5 were bad.4. there were a number of other leaks (cam seals) and other items. Honestly, most of these wouldnt have been found during an inspection and were only identified since the mechanic needed to dig into the engine for the water pump and timing belt replacement.In total, I paid $4,700 in repairs on top of paying top dollar from the dealership. I purchased from a Toyota dealership vs. an individual in part of the reassurance the dealer would go through the vehicle and have it safe to drive. I was told this one had everything fully addressed and there were no problems other than wear and tear of the seats, interior, and pain for an older vehicle. When I contacted the dealer, I only asked for financial help with some of the items I felt the dealership should have addressed prior to the sale (proper suspension, tire pressure sensors, and the timing belt which I was told was recently replaced). I offered to put the dealership in contact with my local mechanic. I was told by the salesman he was talking to management and he never replied.While I realize I purchased as-is, I traveled a long way to purchase from a dealership I would have expected to complete a decent inspection when they took the truck in on trade. The fact that they didnt realize the suspension was in such bad shape (along with all the other items my mechanic found in the inspection) make me wonder how much effort is put into inspections on used vehicles. Overall, I would not hesitate to purchase a new vehicle from Sunnyvale, the salesman was outstanding and responsive and the buying experience was seamless, however, I would be cautious of purchasing a used vehicle.Update - I have tried contacting you Ali based upon your response wanting to learn more about my experience. Comment: I love my new RAV4, but the service experience could have been much better. Here is what happened: i put down $500 deposit to reserve a RAV4 and it came much sooner than expected. September 12th, i went in and drove away the new car and went back to pay the rest of balance within a week. Couple weeks later, i realized i had not have my $500 deposit back. Then i went to see my sales rep and he said he would take care of this. 3 weeks later, i still did not see the check in my mail. Had to reach out again then couple weeks later, i still had not see the check. i had to message my sale rep, then he replied, they refunded $500 back to your credit card. and i checked my credit card transaction, it came in on Nov. 14th. It took 2 months long to get my deposit back, and i had to chase down personally and followed up myself multiple times. If i forgot about my deposit, where would $500 end up with? Follow up with your customer or keep your customer posed is not a thing anymore OR the customer already paid for the car and got my cut, so could care less....

They presented all the potential upsells upfront, and didnt pressure you to buy any.Of course, the appeal is the fact they sell at MSRP. Comment: Millis was my advisor for my recent warranty visit for the rear differential error which resulted in the diff lock not working. Millis insisted that the connector which for BD1 is melted and that the associated picture of the melted connector was attached to my case. He has refused to supply me with that picture and claims to not have access to it. I checked the connector myself and it is certainly not melted/broken. I brought this up with Millis and he simply said IDK what to tell you but it is no longer our problem and I should be grateful they did not charge me a diagnosis fee. The powertrain warranty is for 60K miles, but since they claim it is electrical - this allows for them to deny the warranty. They are asking $7500 dollars to replace the ENTIRE wire harness (when they are insisting it is simply the connector located on top of the rear differential). Nonetheless, he began yelling, looking to his colleagues asking for assurance, and was incredibly unprofessional. I personally have not dealt with such level of incompetence before and realistically, I just want my 2021 Tacoma fixed, or at least real evidence that the issue is what they claim it is (again, I checked this connector and I had a 3rd party mechanic confirm my suspicions).

Comment: Let me start by saying if it were not for my sales person being so helpful, I would give this interaction the lowest rating possible.Upon a routine oil change on 9.7.2023, at the dealership for a car I have had at that point 5 months, it was discovered that I needed an alignment on the right rear tire as was evidence by the tire having been rubbed down to the treads. Mind you this is on the inside where I cannot see. This car always drove with a little bit of friction, but as this was my first hybrid Rav4, I thought it was normal.So I am told that the tire is unsafe and I have to get an alignment and ALL new wheels (all wheel drive car) I said I would have to shop around because the prices quoted were too steep.After attaining the new tires at $750, I took the car to Firestone near my home. During their inspection they asked when I was in an accident or when the car was hit. I have never been in an accident in this car and the Carfax has no reports of an accident.They go on to tell me that the alignment is so bad that it is likely due to a distortion of some sort in that area. The recommendation was to take it back to Toyota as they should be able to get and fix the part faster than Firestone would be able to on this 2020 model.I take the car back and, at this point everyone is very nice, the used car manager says that he needs to have one of his guys look at the car. I wait a few hours and when he comes back, I am told that the mechanics need my car for a day or two to fix a few things on it. So I ask which things? The manager was not able to specify the problem nor name any parts, which immediate raises a red flag in my head. Did they sell me a car that did have an accident but was never reported and their certified check failed to see this? Then it would be a bad look for them if this is the case. (I am leaning HEAVILY on this theory right now, Halloween 2023)I bring the car back the next day and as I get texts that someone is working on my car, I text to ask what is being done or what is needed, absolutely no response. When I text that manager, no response. When I text my salesperson, at least he has the courtesy to say, hey I dont know, the manager is the person that would have the answer.On Friday the 13th I get a call saying that my car was ready for pick up. So that evening, I get it. I am happy to have the car and it does drive a bit smoother. The 4 miles from the dealer to home go swimmingly.Out of curiosity, I asked my salesperson for any paperwork on this work and he said there was none he could give, but he did manager to snap a pic of one page and at the end of the description it says possible frame damage/control arm/knuckle possibly bent. Cannot adjust any further - recommend body shopSo the whole reason I took the car in was NOT fixed, AND they worked on other stuff?Shady!On Saturday as I head out to run errands, I began to hear to what I can only describe as a rubbing sound. It isnt loud, but in a car that is very quiet, I notice it.On Sunday the sound of that rubbing is very loud and I can tell that it is coming from the right rear tire well. And I can hear there is a pattern that picks up speed as I accelerate.I cant take the car back to the dealership until the next weekend so I will have to hope that brand spanking new tire will have to hold out for a few days.Then came Monday and I was driving the 50 mph down Central Expressway all the lights on the dash started to flash about 5 seconds after a loud pop happened in the front of the car. The wheel jerked a little in my hands, then the lights and beeping shortly after.I was getting warning saying to pull over and that different systems were failing. I think it was 5 or 6 systems.I manage to pull over and call a tow truck and my insurance. I also call Toyota corporate office. They were very nice and helpful.I told them everything. Comment: Updated. Lost my trust with TOYOTA in general… The Toyota Venzas have paint and now windshield defects. There is a class action on the windshields. I literally had a a rock hit my windshield two or three weeks ago; and, a long crack developed down the front over the two weeks...I called about windshield replacement and was told that it would be $2000+ for windshield replacement and that I could only get a Toyota service to do the replacement due to calibration, but I’m reading various online sources that it can be done elsewhere. Thus far, I’m getting quotes under $2000 with Stevens Creek Toyota and Milpitas Toyota. Unfortunately, because dealerships dont work with insurance, I just went through insurance to have them provide me an approved vendor (who then purchased the parts from here and will be doing installation and calibration for me).Also, when I purchased a paint pen, they ordered and advised it would come in a week. They never called me. Then I called and they needed me to provide them the receipt number and required me to bring the receipt for reference in order to pick up the pen. It should not be this difficult…———————Excellent phone receptionist. Got Melanie as my service manager, and she’s excellent! She was a led to advise that the paint chips are on the plastic so no risks of rust, and that I could use touch up paint - which the parts & service guy was able to order for me for $20.Excellent waiting area as there are also nice booths, Wi-Fi, and coffee. Appreciated the booths so I could do work and have my dog with me. (Respectfully used his car seat cover on their seats).Here for my second maintenance ever. They don’t do any cleaning like other car dealerships (or maybe this is something that CA dealerships don’t do?)******Not sure why Stuart or Stewart keeps calling my father about servicing my car, and not me.I tried to speak with him a few months ago about chipped paint along the trunk of the car (similar to the issues that Toyota has had with white car recalls in the past few years), and he refused to even discuss helping with it. When I reached him, he didn’t recall leaving me two messages…So odd.

Here is my story.After talking to many dealers, found that they are one of those offering the car at MSRP (No mark up). I had booked my Camry with them by paying $500 booking. Very smooth process.The car arrived a week before as they promised. This was fantastic. But had to cancel my booking due to color change I wanted.I did not have to follow up for refund at all. The $500 check came to my home within a week. I was stunned. This was really impressive. I had bough cars before with other dealers. It tell you to do unnecessary services and overcharge it, like $100 to change your cabin filter, $70 to change your engine filter, $250 to change your 2 years old battery and $60 to clean it. They quoted $970 (cant remember the exact amount but ballpark) to change the whole panel but I have it fixed somewhere else with $210, and the actual malfunctional part was fixed.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------They replied! I called several times to ask the price for the regular maintenance, but never get response, they let you make an appointment and never tell you the price. I bought the car from here, so I mistakenly trusted the staff. When I reached there, they just gave me a letter saying three options at least 1400 dollars for the maintenance. I refused to do that, and the staff told me the minimum maintenance is 379 dollars no other choices. I already took time off to do the maintenance, so I cannot leave without doing anything. I paid for that, the package only contains the oil change and the tire rotation, which may worth 100 dollars. When I back to home, and checked their website, it said oil filter is 80 dollars. The staff lied to me. I bought the car from here and I recommended my friends to buy their Toyota here. But they just lied to me, you could lied me once, but you will never earn a penny from my pocket again.

Comment: They sell at MSRP. Buy new, it is a much better deal than used right now. Dont worry about the wait to reserve a new car coming in, as the cars comes much faster than the delivery estimates. Mine came in one day after reserving!Only advice is to be sure you know what youre getting into. I didnt have all the documents ready and that hugely delayed the financing process. However, the team was so supportive and patient.Ken was my salesman, he was straightforward but didnt always answer questions in clear detail. Though Im glad about that in some ways, as he did not try to oversell me. We said no to the Toyota insurance add-ons, and he didnt push us into it.Recommend this dealer over any other Ive experienced. The car has been great so far and Im looking forward to the 2 years ToyotaCare included. Also cool the free one-year trials to the Toyota app features that let me monitor the car. A good benefit to a new car, for sure!

Comment: Tire exploded less than 24 hours after extremely expensive maintenance* UPDATED REVIEW * Toyota Sunnyvale paid for the necessary repairs and servicing after this happenedAfter I posted this original review (see below,) I also filed a complaint with Toyota Corporate. This seemed to spring Toyota Sunnyvale into action. The overall manager and his associate (different from the 1st lady I talked to) reached out to me pretty quickly and were willing to listen to my frustration and work with me. They agreed to pay for a replacement of my back two tires, the new tires themselves, alignment, and to replace and program the back two tire sensors. Because I was away from the Bay Area after the tire blowout, they let me get this work done at another dealer. This process took a couple of weeks, but they checked on me throughout and really cared that the problem was fixed. They reimbursed me for all of the expenses and I now feel much safer and more comfortable driving my car.At the end of the day, I still feel that I overpaid for my original service considering what happened. It was a hassle to get everything fixed. I’m disappointed that the tire sensor issue wasn’t raised to my attention properly that day. But in the end, Toyota Sunnyvale did fix the mistake and I appreciate that.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I brought my Prius in on Tuesday and was talked into a multiple thousand dollar 150k mile maintenance. I was reassured that a high quality, comprehensive service would be done and that I would not need to get another service outside of tire rotation and oil changes for at least 30-40,000 more miles. The price I was quoted for was over 4x what is quoted for a 150k service on my car across the internet and by other providers.That day, I received an unhelpful video from the technician who named various items that were being checked, but failed to actually show them being done. The technician said in the video that the tire pressure was set at the correct levels and that there was a problem with my tire sensor, but failed to show the tires actually being filled. I was never told or asked whether I wanted the tire sensor to be fixed. Considering the extreme amount of money I had paid, and that the representative reassured us that any and all safety-related features were maintained, I picked up my car trusting that my car was safe to drive, not questioning the service I paid for.That was a mistake. The very next day, less than 24 hours after I picked up my car, I was driving on the freeway when my rear driver’s side tire exploded. There was a sudden loud noise, and we could feel and hear the tire instantly shredding as we drove. We exited and pulled over in less than 2 minutes to find the tire completely shredded (see photos.) We called ToyotaCare and had the tire replaced by my spare. When we asked what he thought had happened, the technician said that this was due to improper tire pressure, not the impact of a nail. There was no nail or evidence of a nail or any other object embedded in the tire, which would not have simply fallen out in the 1.5 minutes we took to get off the highway. I was shocked that this would happen the day after my expensive maintenance was done.I called Toyota Sunnyvale a total of 5 times before I was able to express my situation to a manager. Each time, I was transferred to a different voicemail box. Eventually, a manager was able to respond by text, although I had requested to speak over the phone. I expressed what had happened and that I called into question the entire service that was done. She tried to convince me that this was due to a nail but also was confused by what happened. Again, there was 0 evidence of declining tire pressure and no nail or object embedded. I had to conclude that their claim that the tire pressure had been set correctly was a lie. They also failed to properly inform me of or deal with an apparent issue with my tire sensor.I requested a replacement for my tire and the manager I had talked to was wishy washy. I then decided to file a complaint with Toyota Corporate.

My service manager Lou was very professional, caring and wanted to first understand how we use the vehicle and wjst our plans were for the future (the SUV is 15 years old). Lou then suggested repairs that would make the suv safe, roadworthy and extend its life. He was considerate of what repairs were necessary vs those that were nice to haveLou also kept me informed throughout the experience, explained things and provided timely information. Additionally he ensured all possible coupons and discounts were applied.Overall I felt confident and also felt as if Lou was watching out for my best interests. Instead of just going by the book and suggesting all sorts of repairs he took the most important step of first patiently understanding the customer and how they use/plan to use the vehicle. When we first started looking at potential cars, he happily showed us an array of vehicles that we were interested in from SUVs like the RAV4 to the mid-sized sedan like the Camry and Corolla. When we went to test-drive the Camry Hybrid XSE, he could explain the features very well. He even offered to demonstrate some of the tech features even though it meant taking up more of his busy time. She had a tire explosion on the road most likely from low tire pressure the next day. While I’m glad she and her friend were not injured, the work at this site cannot be trusted. Since I moved to South Bay and switched to this service site, I have suspected the integrity of this service site. It is very sad because we are a family of Toyota supporters and we have purchased 7 Toyota cars, always only going to Toyota for service. We will not write off all Toyota service sites quite yet, but would like to warn other car owners. The management, the sales practices, and the training and quality of the technicians are in question. We paid a lot for the life-threatening lesson. We regret not reading the reviews here before we went. Comment: Warning: Predatory dealership for service pricing and extremely bad car servicing. Car tire exploded while driving after less than 24 hours since servicing car here. Do not get your car serviced here under any circumstances!My partner recently had her car serviced here for a 150k mile service checkup. She isnt an expert when it comes to car maintenance and unfortunately the dealership took advantage of the situation. They charged her over $2000 for the package while explaining how this is the cheapest package available. By the time I realized, it was too late. We were willing to let it go as an expensive lesson and assumed that given the price, the service quality would be top tier at least.Less than 24 hours later while driving on the freeway, our tire exploded suddenly. Luckily we made it out of the dangerous situation ok and the technician who helped us replace the spare tire explained how this was due to extremely low tire pressure since it ripped from the sides of the tire. This came as a shock especially since we were sent a video of the service that was done and explained how the tires were healthy and set to the right pressure. Unfortunately this video did not actually show the act of inflating the tires or even a pressure sensor to indicate the right pressure. At this point it seems likely they didnt do a lot of the servicing outlined in the agreement and probably did not ensure the health of the tires. They were quick however to insist that the brake needed to be replaced, probably so they could charge us an additional $500.We tried contacting Toyota Sunnyvale repeatedly and were never able to connect with any service rep over the phone. Eventually after 5+ tries, we could only connect with someone via text. They were not responsive and never reached out to us via phone after we said they can reach out anytime to discuss this matter. After sending the photos of the tire damage via text, they said its most likely due to driving over a nail and that their records show the tire pressure was set and that there is nothing they can do.The photos of the tire are attached below and I will let the reader make that judgment on whether a nail was the cause of that damage. There is also no nail embdeded in the tire and no evidence of tire pressure fading over time given the sudden explosion on the freeway.At this point its pretty clear they did not actually do proper tire maintenance despite saying they did and assuring us that the service was comprehensive and that no more servicing should be needed for the next 30-40k miles. I have never seen a tire explode less than 24 hours after proper servicing done on a car. This entire situation is really just unacceptable and disappointing.We were hoping for them to be helpful in just getting the tire replaced, but they instead decided to just shift the blame towards us.I hope this serves as a cautionary tale for those considering doing your business with Toyota Sunnyvale. I would recommend going to any other place as I have never seen a dealership display such predatory practices while providing terrible services and unresponsive customer service. As for myself I noticed a recommendation wrote on the paperwork about my Right Front(RF) tire has a puncture (a nail or staple) and should be replaced. The pregnant lady that checks you in &out failed to read that but she did read to me about the engine & cabin air filter needed replacement which was stated above the tire concern. Comment: Dropped car for catalytic converter replacement. Expressed my worries about battery dying if car is not started or charged often. Was assured will take care of starting the car once in a while.4 months later, still no parts (not dealers fault). Came to pick up the car, battery dead! Was jump started to get it off the lot and towed. Was Charged 200$ for battery replacement, for a fault of theirs.Rep now claims she never guaranteed the battery wont die. That battery wont die in 2 weeks. It likely was never started for months and thats why battery was dead. Not a new battery, but was last serviced an year ago and had good life left.Avoid this dealership like a plague. They will make you pay for their fault. It was a huge mistake to have trusted them.Oh and they told me its illegal to use after market parts, when I told them I am installing approved after market. They came back later acknowledging they were wrong later. If they dont understand the rules of after market, either they were unaware (and thus incompetent) or they were lying. Both of them are not defendable positions imo.Take your car elsewhere. You will thank me later. This dealership is NOT responsible for a national backlog for catalytic converters, but IT IS for not taking reasonable care of my car while it was in lot, but also charging me for fixing it.

I was looking to have a hitch put on my rav4 prime and was quoted $1500 in labor after the parts cost. I called the closest dealer ten minutes away and was quoted $900. Not only do they quote well above book hours in labor, 6 hours when the three other dealers I called quoted 3.5, they do so without care. When the blatant price gouging was brought to their attention the service rep simply said “you gotta do what you gotta do”. Terrible service and blatantly overcharging without care for their customers, save your money and go ten minutes south to the next closest dealer.

Oil change should not be over 2 hours. Time is money for everyone, not just for them. My time is my money. I’m not waiting for the freaking oil change in 5 hours. I talked to the manager and he said it was because they were busy. Well, if you were busy, then why did you try to make me add other services like Changing Coolant fluids and other stuffs which took more time to do and were up to almost $800? Comment: My first time getting my car serviced at Toyota of Sunnyvale was a great process. I scheduled for Saturday morning at 7 am and I got there at 7 am and already 4 cars ahead of me! The Toyota Service members were there to assist and I was quickly helped. The service person that assisted me, Marian was easy to work with and professional and answered all my questions. Due to this being a 30k service, I expected it to take more than 3-4 hours but I am glad to say that I was not ur by about 9:30. Toyota Sunnyvales communication and Marian kept me abreast on the work being done and even sent me a video of their assessment and work. Excellent service. Martin was my initial salesperson, but I have yet to hear any updates at all; besides the one time that I physically visited the dealership to check on the progress.I emailed Kevin Pang, the apparent General Manager in APRIL of LAST YEAR for Martins direct number and received no response.I understand the delays due to the semiconductor chip shortage, however, the way that this has been handled is quite unprofessional.If you go here to purchase a car, make sure you choose your sales advisor carefully. Jessica Wilson the Sales Manager took care of me and had one of her salesmen help me out with all the doc preparations and get me out the door ASAP. Service was professional and courteous and compassionate about what I wanted. They offered me some specific warranties to save me some money and interest on the car loans. So they looked out for me. I put down $2000.00 and got a great car loan with some descent interest rate from B of A. They wanted to buy my car off the lease and gave me a fantastic Blue Book value but instead of leasing. I had made up my mind that I was going to buy instead. The used cars are worth a lot of money with any Car dealership because the inventory has been low in many places. COVID did the decline on the production and availability, so all used cars are like Dollar signs to any dealership in California. The service department has always taken care of he oil changes and inspection of my Rav4. Overall experience with this place is a 5 star excellent job done rating. Comment: Summary: During routine maintenance, dealer crashed the car, lied, and didn’t take full responsibility until dashcam footage was shown. A supposedly 5-day repair turned into 37 days in total. Complete failure to communicate throughout the process. Had to file complaint with Toyota corporate. Ruined my entire holiday.In December, I took my Tundra in for routine maintenance. While pulling out the vehicle to me, the employee driving crashed it in the garage while making a sharp turn (see pic), damaging the passenger side. The entire incident was captured on dashcam, including the driver’s colorful commentary and attempts to cover up the damage. Despite the employee knowing he had damaged the car and many other dealership employees seeing the incident, he decided to hand it off to me as if nothing had happened. It was raining that day so I didn’t catch the damage until I got home.I contacted the dealer and at first, they didn’t care too much. Only after I provided the brutally obvious video did it kick them into gear in getting a loaner set up for me. I brought the car back on Monday (2 days post-incident, because apparently they can’t do loaners on the weekends) where I was told it would be finished by Friday (6 days post-incident).Friday passed and there were no updates. I called many times daily only to get in an endless loop of being transferred by the operator to my service advisor, who would never pick up the phone, respond to my text messages / emails, or give me a call back. It took 4 days and 10+ calls before I got a text with a new ETA of 12 days post-incident. On the new ETA date there was again no update and no answer to my calls. Only after threatening to come in person did I get a text telling me to contact the body shop doing the repair (Golden West Collision). The body shop was responsive and that was when I learned the car wouldn’t be done for another week. By now, my holiday travel plans were toast.19 days post-incident, the body shop was done, but the decals on the side of the car hadn’t been delivered by the dealership. I was almost 3 weeks without usage of my vehicle so I picked it up with the agreement that I would come back once the part was in to get it put on. I checked in every few days, but even 2 weeks later (32 days post-incident) the part was not delivered. I had no other choice but to file a formal complaint with Toyota corporate. Magically a few days later, the body shop received the part from the dealer and 37 days post-incident, the repair was complete.Accidents happen. Had the dealership not tried to lie about the incident and been active during the repair process, I would have accepted that. However, the complete failure by so many employees from the maintenance staff up to Bill Moody, the service manager, is unacceptable. I shouldn’t have to call dozens of times, go around the dealership, and open a case with corporate for them to fix their mistake. If I hadn’t, I bet the repair still wouldn’t be done today.My compensation for this mess? Not even a refund of the cost of my service, but a “credit” in the event I come back to for service in the future.

For that they get two stars.I will spare you the details of the disappointing experience that I had with them, however I will give you three pieces of advice when dealing with them.1. They WILL NOT accept online deals. So if you go to the Toyota website and you find a deal, DO NOT take that deal to Toyota Sunnyvale. They literally told me were not going to offer that deal. Unfortunately, they did not do so until they wasted 2.5 hours of my time.2. DO NOT finance your car through Toyota. I have a credit score of 850. Toyota gave me 10.14% financing and acted like that was completely normal. I came home, spent 5 minutes on the Bank of America website and I got 5.39% rate. So do yourself a favor and dont let Toyota Financing essentially steal money from you.3. When you go on their website, put in your information and unlock the savings. They wont tell you about the savings when you go directly to the shop. So do it online and screenshot it, then go to the shop.So get your preapproval auto financing loan and then go in and buy the car you want at MSRP (and hopefully with some online savings).Unfortunately, for me, by the time I did this the car was gone. That is why I want to give you a better heads up so you can get your car.

I then tell him again I want a 150,000 mile service. He didnt acknowledge my request. And continued to try and recommend services he had no idea if I performed myself or somewhere else.I end up paying for a transmission fluid change only since Hector was acting like he didnt know what services the maintence team offers.Not once did Hector tell me where I could wait comfortable for the 2 plus hours it took them to just change my transmission fluid. And also he didnt offer me a shuttle back to where I was staying.Going to the service department is not what it use to be like 20 years ago...

When I got there the service woman (Ivonne) there was condescending and kept calling me a young lady after ever sentence which was very demeaning. He then started to text and email me and giving all sorts of excuses saying he couldnt open/read my emails but I have to present license copy in order to proceed ordering the car. Again, you could have told me in May, not having me waited for two months. I strongly suggest anyone avoid doing business with James. He is all about wasting your time.

They used to be good and used listened to customer but now they just want to milk every penny.To get the bulbs of my tail lights replaced, they charged me $291 of which $270 was labor, of which $150 was initial inspection cost and $120 for the bulb replacement cost. The also tried to upsell 5 other services that my car did not need. For example, they wanted to charge $100 to fix the streaking of my wiper blades. This task is so easy you can do it under 5 minutes if you watch YouTube and buy the new wiper off Amazon. You get the idea.I also wanted to do an oil change for which I have always supplied them my own oil. Now, they have new policy whereby they won’t accept the oil that I want in my car! So, I guess I will get this service done elsewhere.In fact, I did get my brakes replaced at a local mechanic at less than 1/3 the cost that the Toyota Sunnyvale was asking and the local mechanic even put in the brakes that I bought off Ebay.Overall, I think I’m done with this place. Their initial inspection and labor costs are preposterous have motivated me to learn more about cars so I can get services done myself or through local mechanics at much affordable prices.

Comment: Excellent customer service in terms of efficiency as well as professionalism and courtesy: Scheduled an oil-change with the basic maintenance appointment after Maintenance Required warning lamp came and stayed on the dashboard, and dropped off on 5/20 at 10:00am for the service.Initially, I thought I may have to wait a few hours for my car to be serviced and picked up due to few other cars waited in-line ahead of mine, but thank goodness, the mechanic at Toyota Sunnyvale was able to take care of my car and completed the job within the next hour at 11:00am, and because of this, I was able to pick up my car to later run some errands on the to-do-list. Thus, I was happy and satisfied for the efficiency the mechanic performed on my car without a long wait. Also, by the way, I was approached by a super friendly female service advisor when dropping off my car for the service, who greeted me with a smile and a sincere attitude/ positive demeanor with professionalism, and showed the concern with urgency to get my cars oil-change completed soon for pickup. Therefore, Toyota Sunnyvale has been a particular dealership I always go to for my cars extended warranty maintenance. Didnt learn the female maintenance service advisors name, but she was great in getting my car ready to go and, I was glad for her good customer service!

Comment: I liked that I only spoke to one person the entire time at the dealership, and that I only spent one and a half hours there which I consider a very quick and short time at a dealership. I was welcomed and treated with water or coffee at request and the environment was cozy. Also, since I had to have my name waitlisted for the car I wanted, I waited a month and a half but Stan W., the sales rep. which I communicated with over the two months while on the waitlist was so helpful. He always was able to get back to my calls quickly and could place me with a car as soon as he could. He always sounded attentive and friendly and often remembered our place in the waitlist. I also loved that this was one of the select handful of Toyota dealerships that sold their vehicles at MSRP!! 10/10 experience, especially for an anxious first-time car buyer.

Thanks Kelvin!Location: 3/5. The only thing I did not like from this location was the fact that the sales take place out in the lobby. There was children, and families coming and going which is understandable but it was loud which distracted me from a very important life decision (purchasing a new vehicle). It is more professional if the sales took place in a separate room, or in a different office space that way the client is not distracted with the nuisances around them. It looks like they are working on renovations, so this might be the reason why but I really do hope they fix this and figure something out... only adds more stress to an already stressful decision.

I had to take the vehicle to Sunnyvale Toyota to have them repair the window and Jim Garcia “fixed the window (the wiring had been in the window track therefore severing the wires) and in fixing the window, he did not place the wiring back In the wire harness correctly after duct taping the wires all together. SO, in June of 2020 my speakers stopped working…. Well I now know after Mr Garcia (the Body shop guy that has since retired) Jerry rigged everything because the service department has no record of my window ever being repaired there so the repair was completely off the books (just like the previous wreck my car “wasn’t in” ! Oh and Raj no longer works there either. Also, I decided to get an estimate done to see how much the wire damages would cost me…. Almost $8,000.00 it would cost me to get the wiring fixed. Since the estimate after the speakers stopped working, the reverse camera, radio, CD player, side view mirrors, basically most of the dashboard has completely stopped working and they refuse to repair the problem that their guy caused.So please save yourself a bunch of undo stress and get your precertified owned vehicles somewhere else and definitely NOT HERE!!! My air bags won’t even deploy due to all the wires being severed in the driver door.So my previous review is completely null and void!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Comment: Quick edit to add that I bought my Tacoma from Sunnyvale at MSRP when quite literally all other dealers in a large radius were marking up their new Tacomas an extra $9,000.After searching constantly the last two months for a specific Tacoma it was so nice to have Amir make the process of buying my first new vehicle so seamless. He helped me the whole way and was always available to answer any questions that I had throughout the buying process. I had to fly out to Sunnyvale because of the distance from where I live and it seemed like my day was falling apart when my 6:30 am flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connecting flight and stranding me in SF three hours before I was supposed to arrive in San Jose. I thought I was going to have wait 3 hours at the airport and Uber over but Amir, working on his day off because it was the only day I could make it there last week, came and picked me up in SF right away! Comment: My car buying experience this time vs the last went from good to exceptional with Cindy this time. Both times, the Sales Associates were exceptional. I had visited Toyota Sunnyvale to get my Sienna serviced, and was browsing around the new 2019 RAV4. Cindy was walking a customer around some vehicles and explaining the redesign and new tech details. I had asked her some questions where she had good answers to. We followed up with a test drive the following week or so. I was initially interested in a RAV4, trading in my Sienna. Cindy asked what trim, so I could have the right test drive experience. I got back to the lot and felt the 4Runner, my all time favorite, was a better fit for what I was looking for. She didnt mind the idea, even though nothing was certain, she asked if I wanted to compare on the same day to get a better comparison for what I was looking for. That was a good idea. We then followed up on me searching for a white ext, black int 4Runner and the price range of what I saw at a sister dealership. I mentioned to Cindy that Im trying to spend as little unnecessary time at the dealership as I am busy with other things during the week and coming weekend. The morning I came in to discuss, I had said Id be in by 9am, and as I rolled in at just a little after 9am and parked, she was already coming out of the showroom to greet me. We worked on getting a vehicle in from one of the distant sister dealerships, and I received a call that day that they got the one I wanted delivered. I mentioned that I had about one hour to perhaps get some part of the paperwork done and the Sienna assessed for trade-in. She then made sure that when the one hour was coming up, she asked me if I was ok on time, and that things were almost done. She was very vocal to the Managers about my time, and they ensured I didnt stay longer than I could. The next day, we took care of business. Same routine, I parked the Sienna, Cindy came out, asked if I wanted tea or coffee, and we got to work. I was in there that morning for a process that lasted less than half the time I experienced the first time. All thanks for understanding when is the best time to be at the dealership and Cindy arranging the resources so I wouldnt spend more time than Id like. A great experience here at Toyota Sunnyvale. Its my Toyota dealership of choice.

My mother and I had visited several dealerships in the Bay Area only to be met with aggressive, sneering and dismissive salesmen. John let us test drive several cars, and stayed late despite having a cold to answer our questions. We really, really appreciated his honest attitude and his quality service stood in stark contrast to our other negative experiences. The next day, we signed the deal with great confidence and worked with Kevin (also great!) to finalize everything. I only wish that my mom and I had met John Le at the beginning of our car buying journey! That would have made our weekend so much easier. Well be recommending him to everyone we know. Comment: This review is about their SERVICE department - I have no experience with their sales branch:The summary: unless you have infinite time to dedicate to calling them over and over, only to hear the phone ringing and nobody picking up or returning your calls, do not bring your car here for service. They damaged our car, then it disappeared for weeks with nobody knowing what the status was, and nobody kept us updated or called us. There was really no way to talk to anyone from the service department who knew about the status of the vehicle. Read more for details.I brought my wifes Prius in for service and they made a dent in the side of the car while it was there. When we notified them they said we had to talk to a manger. The manager eventually got back to us and said that after reviewing the tapes they were going to fix the dent on the side of the car (although of course we still had to pay for the car maintenance service that was performed).We left the car there for more than a week and still nobody called to let us know about the status of the car. I called them many times, and every time I got redirected to different phones where nobody picked up. I left my phone number to one of the customer service operators for someone to call me back and nobody did. After 3 days I called again, just to hear the phone ringing and nobody picking up.I was finally able to talk to someone (selecting on purpose the wrong option in the automated service) and asked to be connected to a manager (I did this twice with 2 different managers). Both the managers I tried to reach also didnt pick up their phone and their Voice Mails were both full making it impossible to even leave a message.There was literally NO WAY to know what happened to our car, if it was ready, or even to talk to someone who was not just a phone dispatcher with zero information. I have wasted hours trying to talk to someone and to locate my vehicle, in addition to paying lots of money for a very simple maintenance service and getting our car dented in the process. Its clear that they dont know how to0 do their job and they dont have a system in place to even assure a car doesnt disappear from the map.If you want to worry for the next few weeks and waste mornings calling them, feel free to get your car serviced here. I dont have that time and since they displayed the worse customer service I have had so far in the Bay Area, I will definitely never go back.UPDATE 1 - after another 4 days I still dont know the status of our car. Apparently its in a body shop and they cant even get in touch with the body shop itself to figure out what the status of the car is (its evident now that nobody knows how to use a phone). In the meantime we had to move 3 hours away from Sunnyvale without our car, which is a huge inconvenience and it also means that eventually I will have to drive back to Sunnyvale just in order to pick up a car that should have been ready weeks ago.UPDATE 2 (09/05/17) - Called a bunch of times and left 2 voice mails to a service advisor different from the one who was following us (since that person has been MIA for 3 weeks now). Guess what? Nobody picked up, nobody returned the voicemails. I was finally able to speak to the Customer Service manager who, despite the fact he has a lot of improvements to bring upon the organization to even call his department Customer Service, tried to call the body shop (unsuccessfully) and then eventually went there *in person* to check on the vehicle. On one hand I was surprised to finally find someone helpful, on the other hand, an organization where not even the manager can get in touch with a department and has to physically go there to check on the status of a vehicle is just plainly ridiculous. Good news is that the car is finally ready (3 weeks later - fixing the side of the car they broke), bad news is that nobody let us know. So if I didnt take it upon me to waste my morning calling over and over, I might have never knew about it.More to come after I drive there to pick up the car...
