Comment: Our road trip with the Travellers Autobarb campervan was awesome. The perfect rig for our overland adventure. Morning coffees, picnic lunches and evening meals no problem with onboard kitchen facilities with cold brews in the fridge to quench our thirst. Comment: Aw what an experience!!!!! ❤️From the moment I booked with TA I started to receive emails with tips, tricks and ideas for our road trip. All docs were simple yet very informative and helpful. Definitely a bonus to begin with. TA had unlimited mileage, and their one-way fee was one of the lowest I found.On arrival at TA in SF (via train then bus) we were made very welcome. All questions we had were answered. We were given a full tour, plus instructions, of our camper. Wed paid extra for the sleeping bag/accessories kit which we were glad of.The camper was very easy to drive. Im used with a RHD manual (Abarth), so a LHD and automatic and it was huge in comparison 😂 Once I got the hang of it it was easy!We travelled to LA via the PCH (mostly - landslides caused a rather long detour) We drove just over 800 miles with no mechanical issues.We opted to stay in campsites along with way: Monterey, Big Sur, Morro Bay (my favourite and the best VFM), and Malibu Creek.Returning the camper to LA was straight forward, however we had to make sure and refuel and refill the gas before dropping off. Give yourself time to do this (TA will email you with details of the closest to the site)Again, the staff at TA was awesome. On recommendation we used Uber to take us to our hotel.With the help of Travellers Autobarn we had the trip of a lifetime. The camper was obviously such a huge part of our road trip and its featured in so many of my photos!!I have no problem recommending TA for camper rentals.Thank you 😎

One or two basics in terms of maintenance and helpful equipment was missing but essentially it was a great, tough and rugged vehicle that never really let us down - highly recommend...

Comment: We had gotten a very old vehicle (older than 10 years) with 289,000 miles. Uphill the speed was at its limit at 35 miles and we became a traffic obstacle. Extremely loud engine noises, the interior always smelled of gasoline.The vehicle was dirty, you have to bring the vehicle back swept clean and I think we took it over directly from our predecessor. Although we only picked up the vehicle 3 days later, the store is only open until 5 p.m. and closed over the weekend (so much for the friendly pickup times)The dishes were dirty, the USB plugs were worn out and not working. The fan on the ceiling was so dirty that we looked for mosquito nets in vain. We contacted Autobarn by phone to say that this vehicle was unreasonable. Since we were near Las Vegas, we were ordered there with the promise that we could exchange the vehicle. After a long discussion, we then had another V8 vehicle The old one was a V6, this one only had 27,000 miles, but was much quieter and ran well and was also clean. Would never rent a vehicle there again, the only pleasant thing is unlimited miles and the friendly lady in San Francisco when picking you up, but thats one star.We met a lot of people from the rental company on the way, most of them agreed with us except for the people who had children with them, who had newer vehicles.So you should know that when planning.

Over the 1,501 km we drove, we explored some of the most stunning landscapes in this beautiful state.We begin our journey towards Yosemite National Park, a breathtaking place. The towering mountains, majestic waterfalls and lush forests left us in awe. It was an authentic experience and connected us even more with nature.After enjoying Yosemite Park, we headed towards the coast, passing through beautiful roads and picturesque landscapes.We felt the ocean breeze in Santa Bárbara, a charming city full of personality. We were able to explore the beaches, walk the boardwalk and enjoy the local culture. It was a relaxing and invigorating moment on our journey.Finally, we arrived in Santa Monica, where we ended our trip through California. The vibrant and relaxed atmosphere of this coastal city immediately infected us. We strolled along the iconic Santa Monica Pier. Comment: We rented the Kuga van for 2 months with my boyfriend (56 days to be precise).It was amazing, the van was great and well equipped, we took the bedding and cooking gear which was really great and perfect for the trip. In this feature you get two bath towels, two dish towels, two sleeping bags, two sheets, one for the upper bed and one for the lower bed, two pillow with covers, you also get two glasses, two cups, 4 plates, two smalls and two big, two bowls, two of each cutlery, one big knife, some cooking utensils, one pan, two pots one big and one small with lids, one kettle, and one strainers. We had everything we needed to cook and sleep, we just bought a small kitchen knife in a good will be cause it was more useful than the big one they give.We also added the camping chairs which was really great to have! We also added the heated blanket and the heater, which I don’t recommend taking if you are going to do wild camping, because they both works when the van is plugged to a campsite (which we didn’t know).We mostly did wild camping during this two months and had no problem with electricity because the solar panel is very powerful! It was also very easy to find dump station and water to fill up (mostly free).We made 13640 km (8500 miles) during this two months and it was really enjoyable!During our trip we only had to change the oil once (normal after all those kilometres) but everything was taking care of by the Road service on the phone, they found us the station and they also pay over the phone. We also had to change the tires because we were doing so many kilometres and the one we had on the van were a bit old, but same the road service pay for everything over the phone and we found a garage that was the easiest for us a that moment.The van was really great because it’s not too tall and it gets perfectly in most of the parking spots! You just have to be careful in big cities, park where there is camera or security!I would DEFINITELY recommend it to any one who want to do a road trip on the west coast!We started our roars trip in LA, then we did San Diego, Las Vegas, Death Valley, Yosemite, San Francisco, redwood, crater lake, Portland, Seattle, Yellowstone, grand téton, Salt Lake City, arches, canyonland, denver, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, white sand, Tucson, saguaro, Phoenix, sunset volcano crater, Grand Canyon, monument valley, horseshoe bend, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Las Vegas, Joshua tree, Bombay beach and back to Los Angeles!The unlimited mileage is really a great deal, you don’t find it anywhere at this price!I would love to give a special thanks to Eduardo the manager who helped us a lot in the pick up of the van and gave us a lot of advice!Loved it, thanks Travellers Autobarn.

Comment: Incredible experience! Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Brady at the front had a lot of pro tips on how to make the most of our adventure. I asked the owner to open up a lot in southeast USA, So we will see. Would highly recommended them for the value. Common sense told me to go for the newer vans so less issues, and it was a success. Only thing, keep in mind the wind advisory alerts (those UTAH Mighty 5 roads) when driving these things, they will feel that impact!

Comment: Me and my friend rented a Kuga van last October for 2 weeks plus and the van did extremely well. We drove for a total of 3299 miles exploring from one national park to another thru from California up to salt flats and down to Utah and Vegas. There was no problem with the van whatsoever.The collection and return process was also smooth. Alfonso, whom we collected the van from was very friendly and briefed us with all the things necessary. We did run into a little problem of how to dump the grey water the first time but also that’s because we didn’t pay enough attention when Alfonso was explaining 😅. The living equipments are comfortable enough for the cold autumn nights and the depot also has a few leftover kitchen equipments and spices etc for u to get started on the trip.

The communications/emails by Travellers autobarn prior to our rental day and departure were clear, concise, with no surprise. We were warmly welcomed by Eduardo from the branch in L.A. and he offered us the sweetest customer service, helping us finalizing the paperwork. He then took the time to walk us around the RV and its components and answered all of our questions. Near the end of the trip, we received additional communications with reminders so the drop-off goes as smooth as possible with no extra fee (i.e. not to forget to fill out the gas tank). In conclusion, the service is excellent and the price of rental is decent. Travellers Autobarn cares about getting travellers comfort and support with their RV adventures. I recommand.

Comment: TLDR; you get what you pay for.Before reservation, it was impossible to talk to anyone at the company. Facebook chat, emailing or calling. None of these 3 things worked to start a conversation with anyone there to answer some of my questions... So I just booked without knowing too much about their services or vans.I just rented a van for 9 days to do a small roadtrip. Well actually, I payed for 9 days but only got 8 days of use. On the website, they make you believe you can pickup the van at 10AM, thats not true. After making the reservation, they told me I could come at 1PM. Later, I recieved an email that said 1:30PM. Upon arrival at 1:30, there were 2 groups before me, so when I was finally on the road, it was 3PM. It gets dark at 4:30PM, so the first day was pretty much over already.The pre checkin on the website didnt work so I was left at the computer at their office to fill all my details in by myself. That also means nobody explained me anything about the insurance I took, the liability exceptions,... There was no staff to ask questions, so I had to sign documents without 100% knowing what I was agreeing to. As a customer, I was super uninformed.Finally on the road, these are a few things you should know:- The door on the gas cabinet flew open all the time during driving, the lock didnt work.- Its not insulated at all. Like 0 insulation.- If you drive faster than 35mph, the wind noise is so bad that you cant even hear the radio anymore even on the loudest volume.- They stopped replacing the tire pressure sensors because they break too often. So you always have the light on the dashboard on, when theres an actual problem, you wouldnt know.Some inconvenient stuff but nothing too bad to bother customer support with.The van has some good sleeping options and enough storage. Only 1 of the 2 gas hubs worked, but that was enough for my cooking. The fridge is decent size. The solar panel on the roof provides enough electricity for phone and tablet charging.Returning the van was very fast and efficient. The service was very good and quick. I took the most expensive insurance, that probably helps as well :)I told my small complaints to the friendly man who took care of my dropoff.To be honest, it was OK but I wouldnt recommend this rental service to others. YES, they are the cheapest, but not THAT much cheaper than the competition. So I would say: spend that extra $100 and rent somewhere else.EDIT: Literally half of the stuff they are saying in the reply isnt even true. Makes it even a worse service now...

Comment: Shady garage, badly maintained cars. Know that you are taking a risk when renting from this place. The only upside of their maintenance is that the cracked paint prevents carthieves stealing valuables.Overall kuga is a nice company, did not face similar problems at other garages. Kuga is also the cheapest in the US, so maybe still worth the risk.

The affordability (including unlimited miles) was a selling point and all the basic necessities were provided seamlessly. Erik Aguilar was a pleasure to work with, and tossed in several extra items which made our winter-time camping easier and more comfortable. I hope well have the time and resources to do this again!

Comment: Took a Kuga Campervan for two weeks out from LA to Philadelphia and back, over 6,200 miles.Had a great experience. Alfonso checked me in, and gave me a great orientation and low down on the vehicle, reiterating my coverage and the terms. He was great, considering he was swamped being the only one I saw working. I was in and out within about 30 minutes.I had no issues whatsoever with the vehicle the entire way. It handled perfectly for me the full duration. Mechanically sound campers.I actually thought the beds were comfortable, and the seats were fine driving 10-14 hour stretches.Keep in mind that you’re getting a vehicle to take you around, but you need to provide a lot of the little touches. There’s not a bathroom, and the heat/ac doesn’t really reach the back. Bring a space heater for cold weather.Drop off was also smooth. Alfonso processed that as well, and despite hitting traffic and being an hour and change passed my drop off time, forgave the late fee. He let a cleaning fee slide too.Although I never needed any roadside assistance or troubleshooting, I felt supported by their 24 hour line and well prepared to handle whatever situations may have arisen if I needed any Maintainance or was involved in an accident.Saw a few of these around the country, too! Lots of questions at rest stops.One thing to be aware of is that the decals make it clear you’re in a rental van and a tourist, so be wise about where you stop and leave your vehicle. Keep valuables out and keep the van locked, because in some areas you may be a little vulnerable for break ins when ID’d as a tourist.I’ll definitely rent with these guys again. Alfonso showed me the plans for next years model, with passenger seats and seat belts in the back, and when those drop, I’ll be renting them to bring my kids around the national parks.Thanks for a great experience! 6,200 miles and 13 nights/14 days WITH full insurance for under $2,000. Can’t be beat. I had a great time!

Comment: We booked the Kuga van for three weeks with Travellers Autobarn and were completely happy with it. We drove 5400 kilometres with the car and everything went smoothly. It has everything you need: a kitchen, a bed, a space under the bed where you can put your suitcase and a stacker above where we have load our clothes. When we picked up the van, our credit card didnt work at first, so Alfonso even drove us to the bank in his own car. He and his colleague Russell were also super helpful when we left, and we even had a final beer on the house. We would book a van here again any time, so can only recommend it!

Comment: Nothing worked, the car was not checked before it was handed over to us. We had to go to a tire dealer to have a tire that was already defective replaced, which we noticed because it was always jerking. In Las Vegas we had to leave the car behind for five days because it had to go to the workshop. We could not be offered a replacement vehicle. We had to rent a car for this time and let the campsites we had already booked expire. We had to wait a whole day for this “solution” and we had to fight a lot to get this far. After the five days, we picked up the vehicle without all the other defects that we had mentioned being corrected (headlights loose and defective, refrigerator/battery defective, accelerator pedal always stuck slightly, front middle chair was loose and squeaked. That was it not everything yet.At least we got a good refund, but it wasnt worth the hassle.Take more money and then things should go better - hopefully!

Comment: The vans are ready to be pulled. They gave it to us with the window broken and with the lack of air in the tires warning light already on. During the trip our gas stopped working and despite sending an email we did not receive a response. Since they have not had the maintenance done after a few miles, the engine filter light came on. The stove also stopped working and we had to throw away all the food we had previously purchased. We are going on a trip full of tension due to the conditions of the van. By not having a large engine, consumption skyrockets. Over a month later they charge our card for an alleged fine, when we ask for the official receipt there is no response.

Comment: We planned a cross country roadtrip for two months and took a chance by booking with travelers autobarn through a Instagram ad we saw. We had to cut down our plans for a one month and they were really nice about it and had no problem with switching our dates around. When we came to pick up(and drop off) then van, Russel helped us and was super awsome. He went over all the basic of the van and answered all my questions even if they repeated questions. We had to call the hotlime maybe once or twice and they were also very helpful. Honestly, we had an amazing experience and feels bittersweet to give back the van. Travelers Autobarn helped make such great memories for us. We do plan to rent one of these bad boys again in the future. Comment: Loved renting through Travellers Autobarn for my 7-day Southwest road trip making stops in Las Vegas, Southern Utah, and Northern Arizona. It was my first time camping and visiting that region of the U.S. and the Kuga camper van added a lil level of luxury to the overall experience. The LA staff was super friendly, quick pick up/check in, and the living equipment add on is def worth it.The bed was super easy to set up and pretty comfortable to me (Im 54). I really enjoyed being able to sleep and shower in nature; allowed me to be completely off grid. But if you plan on mainly using the microwave, it only works when plugged in at a full hookup site so plan accordingly.We did have a little car trouble on our first day. The gear shift stopped working as soon as we arrived in Las Vegas (a 5 hr drive) so it put us a bit behind schedule. Thankfully we were in a major city & not in the middle of no where! Travellers Autobarn was able to quickly arrange for us to get a new camper van the next morning so s/o to good customer service. Aside from the first day, we didnt have any other mechanical issues for the rest of the trip.Also make sure to budget a good amount for gas. We put $100 in our tank which didnt fill up the tank and it was on empty after a 3hr drive. So you can imagine how much was spent solely on gas for seven days.All in all, I had an AMAZING experience renting through Travellers Autobarn. I highly recommend this company if you are planning a road trip, want to experience van life, or want to fully immerse yourself in a new adventure! Comment: Great company with amazing staff! It was a great choice for our first RV adventure. Richard was super friendly, and provided us with everything we needed for our trip. Excellent overall customer service!The van was a bit old (175k miles) but in good mechanical condition all around, everything worked perfectly like the fridge, microwave, stove and sink.The bed is a bit stiff so if you can bring something to use on top like an extra sleeping bag or thick comforter that would be great. It is also small for anyone above 57 and extremely uncomfortable for anyone over 6. Other than that, it provides a great sleep and it is super easy to assemble.Vans have solar panels so you can keep your electronics charged and it allows for the sink, fridge and lights to work anywhere. Battery does last a long time so do not worry if you spend a couple nights away from an RV hookup.All in all it is a great, cost effective way to try the van life and see if it works for you. We will definitely be renting from these guys again! Had tons of fun!

Comment: I had nothing less than an outstanding and seamless experience with Travellers Autobarn both in Inglewood, CA and at the San Francisco locations. My girlfriend and I set out on a California road trip from LA to San Francisco and had mapped out a route that would take us through Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks. The pick-up process was completely seamless and we were helped by Jordan at the Inglewood location. We ventured out in the height of the pandemic (November 2020), and Travellers Autobarn has beyond exceeded my expectations in regards to sanitation and cleanliness. We arrived with the van ready for pick-up with all the necessities included which was provided by Travellers Autobarn with the assistance of one of the Australia representatives Amy.We took off and immediately acclimated and got comfortable with driving the 18ft van which is similar to driving any truck as I drive a pick-up at home. They also provided a handy radio transmitter so I can play music off my iPhone and have GPS ready. I do recommend bringing a phone holder to attach to the dashboard.We ventured over 1000 miles and never had an issue with the van other than a blown fuse that blew probably under my control. I did get that replaced at a gas station as I was savvy enough to trouble shoot the issue.The Kuga van we had rented was a complete tank and was able to keep us off grid with the perfect amenities. The fridge, sink, stove and lights all worked off the auxiliary power (solar panels) so we can remain off-grid without worrying about shore power or a campsite hook-up. We did however, book a powered hook-up site for one night where temperatures hit below 20f so we could use the provided heater which needed a power source. Other than that it was fine adventuring through Sequoia and Yosemite with adequate sleeping bags even during winter.Overall, the experience with Travellers Autobarn has been nothing less than 5 stars and I would highly recommend it to any travelers looking to try something new or rent a campervan to take you off-grid! Even the customer service line provided any answers for questions we may had. I apologize that I can not recall the name of the manager of the San Francisco (Hayward, California) location. But, I do want to thank him for his help and accommodation as we arrived late for the drop-off time and he also was very kind and directed us the best way to get to our hotel.This review is my honest testimony. Comment: We had booked 2 weeks of rental, in March 2020. The handling of the vehicle was really top notch, the explanations (on driving, traffic rules, use of the van) very clear.During our 4500km trip we had no mechanical problems, everything was perfect. We simply noticed a lot of fuel consumption which we are not very used to at home.On the other hand, big black point, we had the unpleasant surprise one evening when it was raining, to see water falling from the central light of the vehicle. The water fell all night and I had the pleasant surprise of waking up at 4 a.m. with the entire bottom of the sleeping bag soaked. We had to spend the rest of the trip parking the vehicle on a slight slope so as not to get rain inside (only on rainy evenings of course).Concerning the interior of the vehicle, really well appointed and practical. We took the winter kit and the sleeping bags were great even with a night at -10 near Bryce Canyon.When returning the vehicle, we indicated the problem, but our contact was unable to tell us anything.... Or he did not understand us.Despite this, I recommend this agency for your road trips. Reliable vehicle, almost suitable for anywhere, 3m high and easy to stand up in.Very good experience!

Comment: We loved every second of our trip with TA. The service is amazing and the staff is really helpful! We had the Kuga Van for 2 weeks and loved the fridge, the double stove and the nice interiour. Hope to come back to California soon for a longer camping trip... ;)

Comment: Just finished up with the most amazing CA road trip.. it wouldnt have been what it was without Travellers Autobarn! We had the Kuga for 10 days and it was just perfect. TA provided everything we needed - sleeping bags, pillows, sheets, cookware, propane, water, etc - to make it so seamless. The camper van was the perfect size and so easy to drive. Theres nothing like waking up in Yosemite and cooking breakfast in front of amazing views.. Thanks Travellers Autobarn for such a great experience! HIGHLY recommend using TA :)
