Comment: DO NOT BOOK HERE.I originally scheduled to pick up a truck on the Oceanside Location. Then a rep from this location, by the name of Bri, called me a few times to explain that I needed to pick up a cargo van from this location instead. (since they were out of trucks). She assured me that everything was ok and I could drop off the cargo van at the original Oceanside location after hours. Next day I wake up to a $300 charge for dropping it off at the wrong location. This is so unprofessional. I submitted a refund request and was told I would be called within 48-72 hours...Its been a week already and havent heard an update. Horrible service, will never rent from here ever again.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and go somewhere else.

Comment: Every time I book a truck for the Carlsbad location, they change it last minute to the Oceanside location which is 7 miles further. This is an extra 14 truck miles round trip and gas that the customer has to pay for because they can’t seem to hold a reservation. I think it’s a scam that they use to book reservations and then change it last minute when it’s too late to cancel or book Penske.

Comment: Well went to U-Haul website typed in I need a regular pickup for 2 days and purchased the insurance long story short with taxes and everything it said total due $67.54 ok no problem thats fair so I go to U-Haul in Carlsbad getting ready to pay and now its $131.54 so I waisted my time and was without a truck that I needed so heads up dont go by the website better off calling first

Comment: Yesterday, Sunday June 11th was my first time every renting a U-Haul and I couldnt believe how easy and quick it was! I had to move furniture on Sunday from one home to another and after calling UHaul dispatch, within about 30 minutes, I was already in a 10 truck with keys in hand.I would definitely recommend this location and company to anyone! The price was more than fair and will be using again with any other moving needs. Thank you!

Comment: Absolutely amazing.My husband is a Marine and I’m currently eight months pregnant, we had a few days notice to pack up& move so naturally it was a stressful time. Upon arrival to U-Haul of Carlsbad we we’re greeted by an extremely kind young gentleman named Chris- he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, helpful and so welcoming. Chris made the most stressful part of our move so much better and such a breeze!! Helped us check into storage, answered all of our many questions and was the first person to welcome us to our new home. We had an amazing experience and will absolutely be using U-Haul for every move!

Comment: Dont expect to rent a truck from U-Haul for a long distance move. A reservation means nothing. They guarantee nothing. A friend of mine was told on the day before she was supposed to pick up a truck that there were no trucks available. They told her she had a reservation not a confirmation. I tried calling to see if I could prepay to make sure I had the truck, but they would not accept prepayment. For my move they called me less than 24 hours before I was supposed to get my truck and car trailer, that I needed to drive to Fallbrook to get the truck and then to Oceanside to get the trailer (and then go back to Fallbrook to get my car?)

Comment: Easy enough to get a unit. Place is clean and the hours seem decent enough, but the management is vindictive. They will lie and hype up interactions to justify the punishments they dish out. They abuse power and talk down if they think you may have done something wrong. They will turn your entry card off to inconvenience you just to force you to come in the office during the hours that theyre available. Its a tactic used far too liberally. Expect fees added and rates increasingar. I have rented from 6-7 different storage facilities/companies and have never had such an awful experience.

Comment: Just spent an hour trying to get a hold of anyone to speak with about moving supplies. Called here, called Oside & called Esco Uhaul storage centers, all during business hours and no one would answer their phones. Website also appears to be unresponsive- cant order supplies there either ( which is why i called ) Maybe this company should spend less of their budget on endless info-mercials & focus on basic customer service.

At least two different phone numbers, then they want another person as a contact that does not live with you. Im renting a storage shed, I shouldnt have to feel like Im dealing with the FBI.

Comment: I have moved from coast to coast with the military and never had so many issues with a moving company.The carlsbad location was not helpful. Coonfused about booking. My UBOXES experience has been a nightmare! Placed the ordered on line and have spent numerous hours on the phone to resolve issues. I will not use uhaul again and will tell everyone I see about my horrible experience.
