Comment: I made my appointment online to put the hitch on my car because I wanted to use it for the bike rack, to make the appointment I had to pay in advance because thats how they order the part. When I had the appointment, Mr. Les treated me very kindly, he explained the process and how long it was going to take. And then he told me that I didnt actually need all the parts that the system had recommended, because if I wasnt going to use it to tow a trailer then it wasnt necessary and that for the bike rack fewer parts were enough, so they gave me a refund for parts that were not necessary. Everything was perfect. I recommend them because they are honest and work very well!

Comment: This location can be really on top of things, or, really make you wish youd gone somewhere else. Some staff are friendly while others tend to hang out in the back basically avoiding all the customer contact. The vehicles are always well-maintained as are the U-boxes. If you schedule moving help with a U-box, be prepared to be a bit frustrated -- the delivery driver does not coordinate with the move helpers. Just assume you need to handle the coordination between these 2 and youll be fine.

Comment: I recently made an appointment with them to install a hitch. Upon arrival they said the parts were not there yet so they cant install it. They didnt call me not to come to the appointment.This was also my experience with another u-haul location. Reading through other reviews some people share the same experience.The owner was quite nice though and apologized for not calling me before the appointment, and suggested me to call next time before come to the appointment. I find that suggestion a bit funny, as I never have to call my doctor hey are you really available today before I get into my car. Maybe u-haul in general is a bit of a mess and we need to take their appointments with a grain of salt in the future.

Ill never use anyone but Uhaul after that. Absolutely gold standard care.Thanks again!

Comment: I made a reservation and went through a bunch of hoops to get my rental at night so I could load the cargo van with belongings that needed to be moved out of my living space so I could at least get some sleep tonight in my own bed which otherwise is packed with my stuff. I took an uber to this place and the key instructions werent super clear but I found the 2 key boxes with the word locks on them, but the key compartment my key is in is unresponsive to the word code and will not open at all. Do yall even check to see if the word code locks even function properly before looking your customers rental keys in them? If the 24/7 hotline cant help me get my keys tonight, then I expect reimbursement for 2 uber trips to get to and from here without my rental, and for some type of reimbursement for the fact that I cant use my rental for at least 12 hours of my allotted time. What ridiculous hoops i had to go through online and already 2 service calls earlier just to make the reservation, just to somehow not be able to access my rental van when I desperately need it so I dont have to sleep on a thinly carpeted concrete floor at work for another night.

In spite of being short handed and super busy, they provided me a ride to and from my destination while they worked. An extra piece needed for my hitch wasnt added that day but was provided at no additional cost the following day as recompense. I was impressed with their customer service attitude; this is a rare experience these days.To Owner, Les, and Installer, Marlon: Thank you for your expertise, fine work and great attitudes! Comment: HITCH INSTALL REVIEWI booked an appointment online at this location, despite it being 50 miles away from where I live because the Uhaul website said the hitch receiver I need was in stock and could be installed same day. I called many times to try and confirm the part was in fact in stock, but no one answers the phones. Despite 4 separate calls, waiting on hold over 15 minutes each time, no one ever answered.The day of my 11AM appointment, I arrived at the location 10 minutes early, and after letting someone know I was here for an appointment they told me to wait for the hitch installer to arrive. 30 minutes later, I asked again, and a different staff person told me Sorry, he doesnt arrive until 1PM. It was now 11:30...I asked him to confirm that the part was in stock and it could be installed before end of day if I waited until 1PM and then was told... get this:1) the part wasnt even in stock2) it wouldnt be in stock for 3 - 4 weeks.Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere to get a hitch receiver installed and recommend you do too.

Comment: I called around for installing a tow hitch and this place was the only one with a reasonable time frame and consistent pricing. I was told over the phone that it could take 1 to 2 hours to install. Marlon finished in about 30 mins. He knew what he was doing and was able to clearly answer all my questions including my questions about the different kind of bike racks you can use with a tow hitch. Comment: After my husband and I had the most awful experience with Fremont Fords parts department, we were desperate and at the end of our rope with trying to get a trailer hitch installed on our vehicle. Everyone was really nice, and understanding of our issues, but they were honest that parts could take up to 3 weeks to come in. My husband was contacted by Les, whom I believe is the owner (i could be wrong) and explained to him what we had gone through. Not only did the parts come in super early, but they had everything installed this past Monday! If I could give 10 stars I would because this team went above and beyond for us! Les was awesome and the gentleman that installed our hitch (hes working 2 jobs to make ends meet, bless him!) walked through everything he did for us. The hitch looks great too! Seriously, give stars isnt enough.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comment: I went there this morning, 3/15/2020. I arrived at 9:03 AM, just after opening. I pulled up to the propane refill station and rang the bell. Another car pulled in after me. After waiting 5 minutes, I rang the bell again. I waited 5 more minutes and then walked inside the store. The guy working, was with the customer that pulled in behind me. The u-haul employee was staring at the computer screen. He did not acknowledge my presence. I said good morning. He looked up at me and grunted. He did not say, Someone will be with you in a moment, or anything that might resemble customer service. I stood there for about 2 more minutes and then walked back out to the propane refill station and rang the bell again. After waiting 10 more minutes, I rang the bell 3 more times and left. There are other places in Fremont that will gladly take my money. I went to the U-Haul on Thornton and was served immediately, by a friendly U-Haul employee. I was out of there with two full tanks of propane in 10 minutes. Dont waste your time going to the U-Haul on Grimmer. Its obvious that the guy working there today hates his job. It really shows. They obviously dont need my patronage.

You may consider this bias, but I consider it a full view of what really happens when you rent a U-Haul truck!U-Haul Centers (centers are directly run by uhaul vs. dealerships, which are private companies that provide U-Haul product) have rigorous processes for managing equipment rentals, and it is top-notch. However, you cant predict people.Trucks go all over the country in unpredictable ways. Consequently,, service quality will vary, depending on the people executing those processes.The best U-Haul centers --including this one-- have complaints. Look more closely, you see that some people just like to complain.A good company is fair to EVERYBODY, which means that sometimes the answer is no. Some people just dont like not getting what they want.At this location, the people make all the difference, and you can be sure that you will get the best possible response in any situation. This can-do attitude begins with Lester Halla, the General Manager.If you want good service and the most for your dollar, go to this location. End of story.

They lie and call their 17 foot trucks 14 foot trucks to try and get extra sales, which only tricked me into driving 6 hours each way costing my business well over a thousand dollars. Three other Uhauls in the area did the exact same thing, and they didnt even have broken down 14s.
