Comment: Terrible experience. Went in on a Saturday, 1 rep in the front office. Tiffany was rude, slow and not helpful at all. Going in to rent a storage unit, was not offered to view beforehand. Then when we were unhappy with the unit and its location, we were met with hesitance to find another unit. Asked for the assistant manager Brianna, who also provided poor customer service... took our business to Public Storage.

Comment: Rudest customer service Ive ever experienced at a uhaul. Girl at the desk was lazy and acted like it wasnt worth her time to even answer me. After I made a reservation, hitched up my car and was told to get my credit card, I walked out to get it and she had the guys unhitch the trailer and locked the doors! When she finally came to answer me,she said I walked roo slow and started complaining about her errands after work she had to do. She was too lazy to push a couple buttons on the computer to finalize my rental and didnt even call me after confirming my phone number. Laziest person ever who doesnt care about customer service bc she will get paid her hourly even if she cuts off an order and slams the door in someones face. No wonder robots are taking ppls jobs.

If employees dont like what they do then look for another job. Because work with Customers is not easy but with TRAINNING will provide Great Customer Service UHaul its a huge interstate company but need to update How To Provided Customer Service. Comment: Truck worked exactly as needed. But upon return I called to let them know that I returned it and that the signs aren’t very clear where to enter. Apparently the employee took it personal because he tried to argue with me over the phone that it’s clear. Obviously an employee should already know where things are better than a customer would, you’re used to this place and you’re expected to know how things go. If a customer is telling you that something is not clear then you have improvements to make. 3 stars for the truck working fine, and minus 2 stars for the employee attitude

Comment: This location needs to cross train workers, so that there is not only just one guy who knows how to check trucks in, and not only just one guy who knows how to hook up / remove trailers, and not only just one person who knows how to work the front desk. Checking the truck back into this location on 1/9/23 around 3PM, was the worst U-Haul experience ever. It literally took about 30 min to return the truck I rented, due to only one worker being available. This experience was so horrible, that people were actually getting out of their trucks / personal vehicles (trailer attached) to see what was going on. The guy behind me even moved a truck that someone exited for quite some time, and he also even helped move a detached trailer to an empty space so we could move forward, after the worker just left it sitting there. A few customers complained about the wait and how we were all sitting there burning gas. Those customers ask about a discount (I as well) only for the worker to say we don’t give discounts, and you can turn off your truck to save gas. As a person who is very familiar with how gas vehicles run, you actually burn more gas every-time you restart a vehicle, as opposed to simply leaving it on. It would have cost that worker nothing to offer a partial discount or to even instruct us to call corporate for a partial discount. He didn’t even so much as apologize for the wait. Someone else did (the brother), but not him.

Comment: The line was long, and it was very slow, and no one acknowledged the customers until it was your time to be seen. I was not informed on the process to check in the vehicle after hours and was charged double even though I asked. When I called to question why I was charged double, no one answered the phone all day! I had to go back up there to be told, oh well there are signs. When people are moving and have a billion things on their mind, they are not looking for signs when they could have been told when asked what the process is for bringing back the vehicle after hours. Even if it was a simple, oh make sure you check in the vehicle, the signs are posted if you are not sure what to do. The tire light was on on the vehicle when I got in to take it and I didnt have time to go back and even bother to let them know, I just took a picture and I had to take it anyway because I had time restraints and I had already been in line for too long. Poor customer service all around.

Comment: It was impossible to keep the passenger cabin cool. The floor severely overheats it is not only unbearable. It is actually a hazard. The passenger cabin gets so hot that the AC becomes ineffective and is unable to keep up and cool the passenger cabin.

Comment: My experience here was actually very good! The staff were super cool. However, there are some cons people should be aware of before going to this Uhaul.1. You will have to take a photo of yourself before your given the keys to the truck. Some people may not like this.2. They will also scan and photo copy both sides of your drivers license before receiving the keys to the truck.3. Their after hours drop off system really sucks. So if you rent a truck make sure you drop it off well before closing.Also do not arrive right at 7pm or 5 minutes before closing thinking someone at the counter will help you. They wont. They will lock the doors and shut the lights off on you real quick so drop off your truck early if you want a person to help you.The app to drop off the truck is very glitchy and slow. It kept freezing and it didnt even show which store your dropping the truck off at. In addition it did not email me a receipt like it was supposed to and just automatically charged my card. I had to go back to the store the next day and have my receipts printed for me. For that reason I had to knock off a star. But over all great customer service and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place.

Comment: I would give 0 stars if I could I don’t recommend anyone to visit this location because there is a young black girl here with a very bad attitude as soon as you walk in, the other reviews of prior customers are not lying, she has one the worst attitudes I’ve experienced in a long time, the only pro that the guy with dred locks was very helpful he is a young guy to but was very happy to do his job and take care of business but I hope that young lady finds work somewhere else where she is happy because it was a very nasty experience dealing with her

Comment: I came in from out of state for a one way auto transport trailer, my appointment was at 2pm, which I showed up at 1:40 for thinking an hour was enough time to load a trailer and sign a paper I also had a appointment at 3pm to pick up a vehicle with said trailer. Luckily around 2:40 we finally get the trailer loaded and the guy that loaded it asked when it’d be back so I told him it was going to Las Vegas. He then told me they would have to swap me out for another trailer, which was the same exact one. The lady at the register came outside and realized she messed up by not telling the guy outside. She became very defensive and rude. When I told her I was in a rush for a 3pm appointment she got loud and put her palm up and said “ I don’t handle aggression very well so I wouldn’t do that “, very professional response for somebody who made a mistake. After waiting another 25 minutes to unload and load another trailer, she met me halfway walking into the store and handed me a stack of papers, didn’t explain anything on the papers or anything, said “ have a good day “ and turned around. Thanks to these guys I got charged $300 for a late fee, and was late by 30 minutes to my appointment. I’ve taken the liberty to purchase my own auto trailer so I never have to deal with U-Haul again. Gotta say, the two gentlemen were great, and agreed with me the female cashier had an attitude problem which one of the males recommended I call Customer Service. Thanks for wasting my time 👍🏻

He supposedly took it back to clean it. All he did is sprayed fabuloso in the cabin and it still had a strong cigarette smell and they refused to provide us with a different van. He also left all the ashes inside the cup holders. Needless to say we canceled our reservation and left that dump.

Comment: I reserved a 17ft truck, 2 furniture dollies, and a refrigerator dolly. I was downgraded to a 15ft truck without notice even though there was a 17ft truck at the location. They said it was probably reserved by someone else, even though I made my reservation 18 days in advance, customer service just shrugged their shoulders and didnt bother looking into it. Then the dollies I reserved were no longer available. They gave me one furniture dolly, and again, just shrugged their shoulders. When I asked for a utility dolly instead, I was told the 5 used dollies on the floor were for sale. Again, shrugged shoulders and a too bad, so sad, its not our problem attitude. So apparently making advance reservations with U-haul at this location means absolutely nothing.

Comment: I wrote a review a few months ago, around August 2021. It seems like companies can pay off Google Reviews or some other kind of company to delete customer reviews and not have them show up. Reviews are meant to inform the public of places that either do great work, are mediocre, or bad. This place is terrible.I got a dirty, empty moving car. So I had to put gas which cost me $80 more, when the rental charged me about $1.12 per mile and in addition to the basic $20 rental that goes up depending on how big the car is. To sum it up, for a 26 mile ride that was 52 miles back and forth, the total cost was a bit under $300. I did not have to pay for the gas and was never reimburse for it, especially considering I only used 1/8 of the gas I put in.

I waited and rang the bell for service and waited 20 minutes. So I went inside to ask why no one came to refill my tank. The guy at the desk said he didn’t think the bell worked. So I said then why do you have a bell? He said I just work here. He said if I have a complaint to call or email his manager. I called and emailed and his boss never responded and doesn’t care. So I emailed u haul. They said corporate I’m sorry. They said they would send me a gift card that was three weeks ago. My suggestion to anyone is don’t go to u haul in Inglewood. If you like bad service then go here. But you have been warned

I literally had seven different problems: can’t count on the on-line system; they don’t follow their own procedures; they don’t have helpful staff; their management was incompetent, rude and dishonest; they literally asked me to buy parts to repair their non-operational equipment; it took 1.5 hours to get a trailer; and then they hit me with surprise fees.Here’re the details:1. Can’t count on the on-line system. I initially reserved elsewhere on-line. Within minutes, I got a call from U-Haul saying that, no, they didn’t really have available trailers there and I was being switched to U-Haul of Inglewood.2. Don’t follow their own procedures. The email and on-line said I would get an advance call from my site to go over arrangements. Never happened, although they had several days to call. I had to call U-Haul on my way there. Got no warning of problems. BUT, believe me, there were problems.3. Don’t have helpful staff. Got to the site, drove through their lot passing multiple trailers that matched my specs without seeing anyone out there. So much for “advance check-in to expedite your pick-up”. Went inside, went straight to a counter with no line, but waited for minutes trying to get the attention of the clerk sitting right there. She was too busy with her phone to notice me waving or hear me trying to talk to her through the plexiglass barrier. She then told they didn’t have a trailer for me, even though I’d seen several on the lot, but couldn’t explain why not. She claimed the ones I’d seen, “must be reserved.” I pointed out I had a reservation, so one should be reserved for me. Didn’t help. So, over to the assistant manager.4. Incompetent, rude, dishonest management. The assistant manager started the conversation by telling me I didn’t need to be inside, “they could have taken care of you outside.” I told her that no one was in sight outside. She told me I was wrong. We went outside. No one was in sight. Still no explanation of why no trailer.5. Didn’t have a key part, wanted me to buy it elsewhere, come back and effectively donate it to them. It turned out, they claimed, that their trailers’ wiring harnesses had been stolen. They wanted me to go to AutoZone, buy one, and let them cut it up so they could splice it to their trailer’s wiring. First had an argument with the assistant manager who literally wanted to insist that the trailers were fully equipped, they just couldn’t be used without the missing equipment. Then had to argue about getting reimbursed for buying the missing part. (Goes back to incompetent, rude, dishonest management.)6. Total time to get out with a trailer – despite no customers ahead of us – was about 1.5 hours. As anyone knows who’s had a time window for a move, we were between a rock and a hard place. So, we went through with it, and finally got out.7. Surprise fee on the final bill. They asked us if we could still have it back by 6:00 pm. We said we could. They said – only then – that they close at 5:30, but, “No problem – just leave the trailer. We’ll check it in in the morning and you’ll get the receipt by email.” We asked if they were sure there was no problem. They said yes. That was all they said. Despite them holding us up by 1.5 hours, we had the trailer back by 6:15 pm. We took pictures to prove it. Nevertheless, with no warning that this would happen, the bill arrived with an “After Hours Service Fee” tacked on. The fee more than doubled the original quoted rental cost.So, no, I have nothing good to say about U-Haul of Inglewood. Bad experience from start to finish. Go anywhere else.

Comment: The worst U-Haul and one of the worst customer experiences ever.I purchased a hitch and installation on U-Haul.com and got an appointment approximately one month later.A couple days before the appointment, I got a phone call to notify me that the hardware has not been delivered and that they need to postpone. That was ok for me, and I told them to call me when they have the part.A week later I got a phone call from Edwin saying my hitch is arriving on Wed and he scheduled me to come in on Friday at 9am.I showed up on time and the owner told me the hitch installer is not there.They checked for my hitch and told me FedEx tracking says it was delivered on Thursday and they need to find it in the warehouse. I waited for 1h while they were apparently looking for it. Finally, I was told that they dont have the hardware. After 1.5h I got a document saying that I will receive a refund, although I did not receive it yet. The owner claimed the whole time that its not his fault, but it must be FedEx error. Based on the reviews above, I think this is very unlikely, since it appears the same situation has been happening pretty frequently.This has been an absolute waste of time. I waited for more than a month. On my day off, I drove over and waited for 1.5h to be told they dont have the hitch, even though they called me to come in for installation.Bonus:The owner told me the hitch I purchased is not available anywhere. I went home and ordered it on etrailer -- it shipped the same day and will be delivered in 3 days.TL;DRAvoid at all costs, spend your $ elsewhere.

Comment: I needed a trailer hitch and chose to have uhaul install it. I made a reservation on the site, choosing a location and date based on what the site said the equipment & associated parts would be available. My contract number was 29641166. The location was 964 La Brea Inglewood, CA 90301. My appointment was at 9am. When I arrived, there were no uhaul associates to be found although the office was open. Over 15 min later, a uhaul associate enters and I said I was there for my appointment. He looks and says that they dont have the equipment available and that even if they did they have other customers who have requested the same hitch before me. I am extremely frustrated. I planned and scheduled around the hitch being installed today. The uhaul site should not let me choose a date and time to have a hitch installed, saying that it is available at the location, if it is not. I was given several possible locations based on the day I requested the install. A few said that one or more parts were not in stock, but several, including the location I chose, said everything would be in stock. To show up, wait 15 minutes just to be seen when I had a 9am appointment, and then be told the equipment wasnt even there is beyond unprofessional and below subpar service. The way the associate responded was also completely unprofessional. Like my appointment totally didnt matter, that getting a hitch installed as per my online paid order was unreasonable wishful thinking, and like I should have known better than to think I could have it done as I scheduled on the uhaul site. That is how Edwin Guardado, the uhaul associate, came across to me. This is literally the WORST customer service that I have ever experienced anywhere in my 43 years of life! I said I wanted my money back, and he returned it supposedly to my banks debit mastercard, but who knows how long it will actually take to get the money back into my account. I was spending $457.71, you would think they would take better care of their customers, now I just hope I do indeed get my full payment returned back to my account. If you guys are going to allow people to book and pay for the installation of trailer hitches, it is imperative that your locations either fulfill the scheduled equipment installs or let the customer know ahead of time if they are unable to. Really I think that when an install is scheduled online for a particular date and time at a particular location, that location should reach out to the scheduled customer to confirm the order, parts availability, and whether or not the scheduled date & time truly works. This way the wasted time, money, along with the huge emotional disappointment and frustration could all be easily avoided.~Jason Robert Litten

Comment: I can’t say enough about how helpful Eniya was today. This morning when I rented my trailer, the location was out of dollies. So I have been rushing all around town trying to move all of my furniture that I just purchased and I realized I still didn’t have a dolly to move it with.I rushed back to the U-Haul trying to catch them before they closed and Eniya actually helped me out in the parking lot when I drove up! I didn’t even have to maneuver the trailer and park to go into the store. Eniya modified my reservation for me, helped me to load the dolly into the trailer, and emailed me my reservation confirmation all within about 10 minutes. And all with a friendly disposition.I was amazed at the level of service I received today and I would definitely choose this location again simply because of how well Eniya treated me this afternoon. Thank you so much, Eniya!

They let me know when to expect completion of the job and both called & emailed me when it was ready. Great staff, excellent job, good price, no upselling, and prompt service. Cant beat em!

Comment: Profits over CustomersTerrible experience! Reserved trailer in May (5 months prior) for an important trip starting tomorrow. Received a call today just “letting me know” that the trailer is not going to be returned, so they are going to cancel our reservation. Really? No offers to look for other trailers, trucks or anything. Just a very insincere sorry like she does these calls all day, every day. “Sorry nothing I can do. Thanks!” Really?This is NOT a company you can rely on. Always have a back-up plan.I could not find any other trailers, so was forced to spend 3X the money to rent a Cargo Van that is available the next day for an 11 day trip.

Reserved a furniture dolly and blankets and was told it was first come first serve - not what web site said. Terrible attitude and she lacked knowledge. Rent from anywhere else - not here!

Comment: Made an appointment to install a trailer hitch. Long story short, the system let’s me make an appointment at a time that an installer is not available. Rick (the owner) tries his best to accommodate me on another day. I explained to him that was not an option for me. At this point, he goes above and beyond, and calls the installer to bring him right away (almost 1.5 hours before his regular start time). That is service!!! My hitch is perfectly installed and I am already using it. I will be Rick’s costumer for life!!!

Only downside is the parking inside and to maneuver in there with a box truck or trailer can be a hassle. Overall great place

Comment: Where do I begin. I returned the truck the same day I received it to someone wearing a blue jumpsuit. Fast forward to a month later they charged me $3000+ because that person didnt work there and took off with the truck!! They claim they had only a security camera in the front (a lie) then when I came back, they magically had cameras that would show where we brought the truck in, but they didnt have access to that date. Now Im stuck with the bill because they didnt secure their property enough to not have people pretending to work there and Im scammed out of thousands because of it. Oh and they still havent called me back. All the numbers the manager gave me to call all said they cant help me or just didnt return my calls. DO NOT RENT A TRUCK FROM HERE! THERE ARE CLEARLY SHADY INDIVIDUALS THAT HANG AROUND THE UHAUL PLACE and Ive witnessed the employees speak to them by name. I wouldnt be surprised if this happens all the time so they can scam people out of their hard earned money. Again DO NOT USE THIS UHAUL OR ANY OTHER UHAUL BECAUSE THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY WITH NO ISSUE!!!

He failed to contact me when my Ubox arrived, failed to contact me when they moved it to another location, failed to contact me when I filed a formal complaint, and failed to remain respectful when I finally spoke with him on the phone. I tried to explain the series of errors that led to me calling him and he cut me off and said, “okay, okay, okay!” Clearly not taking notes or showing any concern for my frustrations. In addition to his rude demeanor and continued failure to contact me when he should have, he also didn’t have a record of my moving date that was on file at corporate. So I had to cancel movers because they didn’t communicate with corporate.The single worst customer service experience of my life. Never use UBOX service. It is a time suck, and a constant stress as they never know where your boxes are located or if they have the right box or or or....never again.

Comment: Terrible business. I ordered a truck online and moving supplies. They gave me a random barber shop location to pickup the truck. I took an Uber there. When I arrived I got a call on my cell saying it was a mistake and there are no trucks available. Because of my timeframe I left, went to Home Depot to buy moving supplies and ended up getting a storage cube shipped with our belongings instead. I never entered a U-Haul location but have been disputing charges for the moving supplies for weeks. The Inglewood store is saying I arrived in the store and picked up moving supplies, but I never did. All I did was waste money on Uber rides and have spent over 2 hours trying to dispute the charges over a two week period to no avail. I still haven’t gotten refunded the $123 I’m moving supplies I was charged. I’ll never use U-Haul again.

Comment: Made an appointment over the phone to wire my trailer lights to my truck. When I arrived at the store they said the installer didnt ever work on Sundays. I had a confirmation # too. Called the place back which sends you to the branch office or where ever to complain they set me up with a new date the next day. Well I have my friend bring my trailer and truck there cause I have work and then they tell my friend they cant do it and i have to buy some other contraption which is a $100. Anywaysti sum it up I ended up doing it myself and didnt need that part and it cost me $20. I dont recommend this place they wasted my time twice.

Comment: The 26’ truck we had reserved was not available when we arrived so we had to take a 20’ truck instead. This meant we had to make two trips and so we spent much more in mileage fees. This doesn’t seem fair considering they guarantee that they will have the equipment you reserve.In addition to that, this uHaul location allows non-uHaul employees to stand around in the parking lot offering moving help to their customers. These people catcalled me while I was standing in the parking lot waiting for my truck to be brought out. I brought this to the attention of a uHaul employee who’s response was: “some people like them, some people don’t.”I’m very disappointed with uHaul after these experiences and won’t be renting from them again.

Comment: We were turned away from filling our propane tank by one of the females standing around smoking outside where you pull up to return equipment. She was rude and treated me like I wasnt welcome while the heavy set Latino guy and the thin built darker skin female sat around and the thin built girl with the glasses sat on the cleaning cart laughing . We have been coming to this location to fill the same propane tank for our forklift for over 9 years now. And we never had this issue ! The site manager is cool...but I think those associates should have more training and not bring the hood behavior to work ! Will not be refilling our tank there anymore.

Comment: I had a horrible experience here. First off the rep told me I needed to return my rental by 7am the next day to avoid being charged for a second day. I wake up at 5:30am the following day to get the truck there on time only to find out that they did not open until 9 oclock. I called the office to find out how to get my refund. The same rep tells me I can come in and pick up anytime. I let him know that I work in Santa Ana so I will come as soon as I can make it during their business hours. When I get there to pick up the money I find out that a check has been mailed out. WHY did the rep not say...maam you have 3 business days to pick up your cash before we mail out a check??!!!! Long story short, its two weeks later and I still have nothing. Ill probably NEVER use this location EVER AGAIN!

Comment: I had a hitch receiver installed here, apparently the only place in town that will do it.Total incompetance. I first made sure that they had the correct installation instructions. Of course!, I was told. However, they forgot to read the FIRST STEP, which details how to cut a notch out of the bottom of the plastic bumper cover so that the cover fits back on correctly. They skipped that step, forcing the cover back on so that it was permanently deformed, leaving a very visible one inch gap along the top. The workers knew something was wrong, but disappeared.I had to make another appointment to have them fix it. They guy looked at the cover, saw a small scratch in the paint, and accused me of having an accident, making it not fit correctly. Nonsense! I showed him step 1 of the instructions, and demanded that he do it right. The plastic is STILL deformed.Much later, I found my battery cover had come loose and was banging around under the hood. When they attached the wiring to the battery terminal, they broke the tabs off the cover, and forced the plastic cover back down over the wire, without making a simple notch for the wire to fit through. That cover will cost me $44 to replace.These guys should go back to flipping burgers for minimum wage. This is ridiculous.
