Very rude service and I have been charged $285 that I never agreed to.I originally booked online a 20 truck through a costa mesa location with a three 3 day deal which included 238 miles. A few days before my reservation I was told that I had to pick up in Lake Forest to get a 20 truck. I agreed to the location change. When I picked up the truck and paid, the person who helped me, took my payment for the deal I booked online. He said everything was fine and I would only have to pay for miles over the 238 that the deal provided.When I returned the truck, the man who helped me return the truck was very rude to me. He explained that I only booked the truck for a one day rental for only 19 miles. I explained that I booked and already paid for a specific 3 day deal with many more miles than that. He was very rudely accusatory and asked for proof of the deal. I felt pressured and flustered as I went through my emails which shows the three day rental, but none of the uhaul emails confirmed the # of miles. He behaved like he thought I was lying because I couldnt find the exactly email on my phone and screen shot of the deal I had confirmed with the gentleman who originally rented me the truck.He then told me a manager would be in contact with me because he kind of thought there was some sort of online deal.NO MANAGER HAS CONTACTED ME, BUT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED $285 in MILEAGE that should have been included in the online promotion that I booked. Im stopping payment on my credit card. I do believe I was a few miles over the allotment for the deal, but not $285 worth. Also, they asked me to drive further to pick up the truck, so really my overage miles were incurred because I had to drive 15 miles out of my way to get the truck and drop it off... so im paying for that too.The only reason I booked this truck was because the online promotion worked in my favor.I feel scammed and Im never renting from Uhaul ever again.

Comment: The employees are not very helpful. And just because they dont have what I need they wont even recommend the next branch that has it. He pretended to go in his computer and check. And told me 2x that no one else has what I need. So I left there disappointed thinking that what he told me was the truth..But I just cant accept it. So I called uhaul and the nice lady scheduled me to another place since there were a lot more places that has it. So we went to rancho santa margarita. The guy was so helpful and gave me an alternative. He said he doubled booked. But offered other options. He even lend me his ties for free. The guy in Lake Forest never offered any alternatives to help. It was almost like he did not want that branch to earn.So I will never recommend the lake forest branch Uhaul. Dont go there unless thats your last resort.

Comment: I rented a truck for a few hours. Asked the staff to give me a truck with enough gas. They replied I will get whatever is first (I was the first person showing up at 8.30 though). Then they gave me a truck with just 1/4th gas in it and asked me to fill gas. They never told me not to overfill.Stupid me. Put $100 gas in the truck with the hope of being reimbursed. When I came back, the staff showed me the fine print that U-Haul never reimburses if I overfill gas. I would never rent from you guys again and hope you lose business ripping off money from all hard working people!

Comment: We went to get a light truck from U haul It was into the evening and plenty of trucks terms were....well...one sided so thats true of everywhere cant blame U-Haul like you cant get hired anywhere unless you agree to arbitration, Anyway we got the truck and the additional Dolly and went home so in the morning we drive to the place its about time to get to action but of course we cant why not because they gave us a truck with NO RAMP?64 years old God only knows how many times and never had to ask for a truck with a ramp it was a given deal as I asked the guy why give a truck without a ramp ?!!we couldnt move much and the whole affair was a disasters I mean you see two old guys (my buddy is 79 Im 64) getting u haul and you give them a truck with NO RAMP because they resemble Hercules may be?

Comment: Overall, lazy and indifferent customer service.I rented a 10 truck for one day, along with 2 dollies and 6 blankets. When paying, I was asked for the estimated mileage, to which I replied 25 miles. I returned the truck 1 hour before scheduled, at 24 miles of use, with the gas refueled, and and the interior of the truck quite clean as I had swept it prior to the return and there was no trash or any other items inside other than the dollies and blankets, which were in a small pile next to the dollies. I went inside the facility and returned the keys to the customer representative slouched in a chair behind the desk, chatting with a work colleague. He took the keys and said, Youre good. I asked if he needed to inspect the truck, to which he replied, Nope, well email the receipt. Three days later, the final charge on my card was $25 more than expected. I checked my email for the receipt, which had not been sent. I took the time to return to the facility to inquire about the additional amount. The same person was slouched behind the desk, and he informed me that the amount was just a temporary additional hold that would disappear in 3 to 5 business days (without even consulting the bill). I replied that the final charge had cleared the card and asked for a printed receipt. Begrudgingly, he opened the transaction on the computer and printed a receipt, and handed it to me. It was here I discovered a $25 cleaning charge had been added. I asked why, given the truck was returned clean. He mumbled. Well, they take pics, which he proceeded to look up. There was a single pic of the 6 blankets. You didnt fold the blankets, he said. I said, They charge $25 to fold 6 blankets? At a rate of $125 an hour, based on simple math? He shrugged and said,Its in the contract. I replied that wasnt pointed out, and he replied,we dont point all that stuff out.Unfortunately, this persons ambivalence and laziness overshadowed the decent experience I had with the gentlemen who provided service when I got the truck. I highly recommend that you seek another provider for your truck rental needs. There are other providers Ive used within reasonable distance of this location that provide a much better customer experience.

Comment: We were making a big move from MIssion Viejo, CA to North Port Florida. Of all the things to stress over and have gone wrong in a move this big our Uhaul experience was not one of them. We took two weeks loading and dropping off our 8 self pickup U-boxes. The staff and management of the facility were excellent in handling my reservation and the occasional last minute requests of me. The facility was patient and we worked together to make the pickups and drops off the easiest and fastest they could be. The U-Box option was a much better move option than loading a truck up all on one day. Our items were stored safely inside and were transported with care and arrived early for our pickup in Florida. I even had to pickup my auto transport at another location and by the time I got home the tire had a nail in it. I immediately took it to the Lake Forest team and they got me back on the road without a blink. I really want to stress this, take the time to be involved with those that are helping you with anything Uhaul as they deal with so much and a little kindness and understanding does show them you also care about what they do. 5 stars is not enough, thank you.. Also Thank you to the scheduling team in Orange County as you have taken many of my calls and helped with making this move on time.With Happiness,The Robinsons.

You can rent a storage container for $100/ month that they can deliver to your house and you can leave in your driveway, carport, or parking spot. You can fill the container and if you cant leave it stored at your residence they will pick it up and place it in their parking lot where you can access it whenever you want 24/7 at no extra cost! Its a great alternative to loading your things onto a truck and taking it to a storage facility with limited hours / restrictions. They bring it to you and pick it up to store it at their facility which is super convenient! When you look at storage rates online they dont ever show uhauls rates so keep in mind when shopping for units online. They even have display units to show you the size right in their lobby! Great service and good rates. Hidden gem 💎

Comment: The experience could have been good because the lady at the front desk was very nice.We needed a truck in an emergency at the end of the business day. Ended up not needing it and returning it at the same location after hours. We filled the tank just barely under the line it was at (by accident). I called in the morning because we forgot our shoes in the car, and the manager Phillip was extremely rude. He would not let me speak and kept talking over me. He tried to charge us a $30 fuel fee, cleaning fee, and after hour fees. Might I add we had the truck for 2 hours and accidentally didn’t fill enough. None of the fees where told to us, nor should they be charged. Phillip is very rude, and has some kind of power trip. Unfortunately, there is no one that works over him in this location, but I have made a formal complaint with corporate. Which I normally wouldn’t do but in this scenario it is necessary.People should not have to deal with added fees because the manager has nothing better to do then bully people and tack on unnecessary fees.

Comment: I was there on Sunday the 24th, I had went with my mom to make sure everything would go smoothly. while processing our reservation our haul rep was making small jokes here and there and one of the jokes was we dont trust you to bring the usual back to which I replied dont worry I dont trust you guys either.While processing our order, I noticed the gentleman next to us had an issue with his reservation regarding the size of his truck, he ordered a 10ft truck but needed a 20 ft truck. his rep said they didnt have them only to find out they actually had one available. (that rep did a good job by searching for the gentlemen)when it was time to receive our uhual I realized my mother had also ordered a 10ft truck, to which I asked the rep do you anything bigger, and he immediately said no.well I genuinely didnt trust him, so I tried to book a reservation for a 26ft truck and the truck was available. had my mom jump on customer care and we processed the order over the phone.the issue is we had already left and made it about ten miles back home before all this happened, and we wasted about an hour and half trying to get the bigger truck, it was that comment the rep made that made me not trust him when he initially told us it wasnt available. this review honestly wont matter but to anyone who reads this, dont take their word for it.nice facility poor service

When I came the manager told he cannot give me storage on the 1st floor with the 1 month free, only on the 3rd floor, that this was in terms and conditions. He was not friendly at all and behaved weird - 1 min later he changed his mind and decided that 5x8 is small storage and he can give 1st floor with 1 month free. I have accent but Im able to speak and understand English, he acted like I don’t know language at all, that was rude. I think he has bad soft skills combined with the bad managing skills since he couldn’t provide what I have booked at 1st place. He said Im the manager I do what I want and gave me what I have booked, eventually I got what I needed but with terrible experience. Overall it’s not professional. The storage itself looks good.

Comment: I made a reservation to have a tow hitch installed on my new vehicle. I placed the reservation online and received email confirmation for a date and time. I showed up for my appointment and was promptly told the part was not in... There was no communication to me that the part was not in and the response from the reps at the location was that the part was back ordered with no estimated date of arrival. The only thing they could tell me was that they will call me when the part is in, whenever that would be.Needless to say I was not pleased with this and don’t feel comfortable recommending people to have this work done based on the lack of communication/failure on their corporate system to let me place the appointment in the first place.
