Comment: I had a horrible experience here. I went in to pick up a reservation at 10:00. But they didnt accept my bank card. I had cash and asked if I can give them a cash deposit. The manager comes over and tells me they only do cash deposits with people who were trusted. When I asked what that meant, he said for people who have rented before and earned a trusted history... (which relaxed me a lil because I have history since 2021... ) so I said yes, check, please. To where he tapped a few keys, showed me the screen real quick to show it was empty and said i have no history.... so next option was deposit money into my lady s account and have her get the rental... so I told the manager my plan and asked him not to give the truck away because Ill be right back.. (there was no body behind me, they were not busy at all. The atm was down the street only a few buildings down. Wasnt even 5 mins. But while away, i looked up my email and found all my history)We get back, my lady makes a reservation and we go inside. I went in this time to show this manager that I do have a trusted relationship with uhaul and to let him know I found my history... but as we were walking up he asked my lady, oh your so and so, my lady said yes, the manager then says theres no longer a truck there, that as soon as we left it was rented out. Which was a lie, because STILL there was no one else there. He told my lady there is no longer a truck at that location. This dude needs to be fired. His attitude and what ever issues hes dealing with, he is not professional enough to be holding down a title like manager for uhaul. Oh, it also says a rental here is guaranteed or you will be given $50 . We didnt get either 1.

Comment: The person giving me the rental was horrible. He kept insisting on a secondary phone number. I told him that I had just been at that location a week before and I had a rental agreement that did not have a secondary phone number. He said that was impossible, I went and looked at my receipts from last week, and it does not have a secondary phone number. but he continued to insist that without a secondary phone number I could not make a rental. I do not have a second phone, a lot of people do not have landline anymore so they do not have secondary phones. So you’ve made me feel like crap for not having a secondary phone, said he would not do the rental for me unless I gave him the secondary phone. So I gave him Pizza Hut’s phone number. Then he was able to give me the rental. He then later proceeds to have me park in the handicap stall as a handicap person is trying to get out of the car. I told him I did not want to, and he said it was fine. Then he proceeded to tell me that it’s their policy to ask for secondary phone numbers as we had already gone past that and he was installing the rental. So here is a person telling me that there is a policy for a secondary phone number, that is sometimes enforce, and sometimes not, as he is having me park in the handicap section as a handicap person, trying to go through. No, I do not recommend this location at all. either that, or I would recommend this location if employees like this did not work there. The employee that helped me the previous week was amazing! this employee was not.

Comment: I was very stressed about renting a uhaul but the guys here made it super simple and were very friendly! I made the mistake of reserving the night before last minute and I was so happy to see this location had several options that met my needs. Id recommend them to anyone moving in the OC area.

Comment: My first review is for the manager Aaron.When I came in to check in for my ubox reservation. Aaron was quick to call me to his window as soon as I walked in. He was quick, efficient. During my move, I realized I needed more space and had to rent another ubox. There were several errors made from the Uhaul departments with pricing and reservation but Aaron quickly took ownership and made things right. He didn’t hesitate to make sure I was beyond satisfied. Although I wasn’t happy with the overall price. Having Aaron on the team made things an amazing experience. With leadership like his this location will be one that I recommend every time. Aaron deserves all of the recognition he can get!My second review is for Nevin.When I returned my first Ubox, Nevin helped me check it in and got my second one loaded up. He offered to drive the truck and hitch it so that it was more convenient (awesome!). Once we got inside, he asked when I plan to bring the second Ubox back. I told him was trying to get both back the same day but it was already 5pm and I was told that’s when you close storage. He didn’t hesitate to offer me to come back as late as 6:30 to drop it off if I could make it. Another example of Aaron’s leadership and his team going out of their way to help me out. Thanks Nevin!My last review is for Anthony.Anthony was a little intimidating at first. Understandably so because his recent customer interaction was difficult(which he handled very calmly and professionally). However, he was so helpful and patient with me. I was trying to clear up some issues from the Uhaul group. He took his time to make sure he was doing everything correctly for me. Instead of making me wait, he got things rolling and assured me that he’d have Aaron his manager take a look and make things right. They definitely went above and beyond.Moving is stressful enough as it is. It helps to have helpful people while you’re doing it though. The team at midway are some of the best I’ve had the pleasure of being helped by. Make the drive if you have to and it will be well worth your time and money.

Comment: The employees here are nice people. The only issue I have is with being charged an extra day when I returned the vehicle back 1 minute early. I shouldve been charged for 5 days only not 6. I checked the vehicle out at 4:17pm on 9/26 and returned it at 4:16pm 10/1 as my receipt shows. Always check your receipt before you leave. Stay away from Budget I definitely feel uhaul is a better truck rental company.

Comment: The process to reserve a truck has 2 steps which I wasn’t told. First you make a reservation then you need to wait for a dispatcher to call you to confirm. The main complain I have besides not having power window, door lock, seats, mirror etc, is I was told the truck gets 15 mpg. I would understand if it’s +\- 2-3 mpg. I got roughly 8 mph on the highway with nothing in the truck and 6 mpg with it loaded.

Comment: REPEAT CUSTOMER. Been coming to this location since Nov 1980 for so many moves I’ve lost count. Today was for my daughter who graduated with honors, got a terrific job, and moved to her new place. What a happy day! We only needed a small truck with ramp and an appliance dolly. Rental was super fast under 15 minutes an we were on our way. The return was under minutes. What a polite and efficient crew. We reserved our equipment ahead of time which I highly recommend.

Comment: I Had Nothing but issues when I moved to California. Even having issues at another uhual location where their was no proper customer service. But, this location is where everything changed! I was met with Tom that got brought up to speed on my issues about the truck & the storage unit I wanted. He solved each & every problem I had. Even while waiting Asking me & my Fiancé if we was thristy is something I appreciate where Im from (RI). As well had the rest of the team which is Danny & Nevin that helped out in many ways while I had to unload the truck into the storage unit. these guys never said no, or gave attitude, had a chill vibe to them while chatting about these issues I was going through. They made me feel at home there. These guys need a pay raise for presenting uhual in professional way where I will ALWAYS be going to that location from now on.

When I show up for my reservation they say they don’t my van available even though I made a reservation I month ago. They only offered me 50$ credit told me to wait for an hour. I needed my van ASAP and I couldn’t get it. Ridiculous that they can’t even meet my reservation.

Comment: It was a slow day so service was fast but do have complaint about the 5x9 trailer which did not look wide enough so when measured it, the lenght was exact but surely the width was 43 only. Thats a whole 9 inches less false advertising. When showed it to sales rep, he suggested to call corporate to let them know. Im just writing it here for now instead. Nothing against the location though, yet.Its been over a week since I wrote this and received a notice saying the picture have been viewed over 500 times but sadly no one from Uhaul have contacted me about the issue.

Comment: I wished there was a minus - i would give them minus 7 . I called at 4 to reserved my cargo truck and after everything was booked and ready for the next day . A couple hours 3 1/2 hours later, they called me back and said they have to move my reservation to a different place few miles away . Jeez, i didnt know Uhaul would stooped so low to milk out the customer for few more dollars after all conformation was said, booked and done . Shame on you !!!!!!!!! Dont go here people !!!!!

There is a catch to the $19.95 deal get all the information and ask several questions about mileage, daily rates, one way, round trip, insurance, additional fees and taxes. Count the cost before utilizing the service.

They stated they did not have our truck and that we cancelled on them, which could not be further from the truth. They actually rented our truck to another person leaving us scrambling on the day of our move for another truck rental. Use a company that stands behind their reservation process not this U-HAUL vendor😡.

When I presented my reservation paperwork to the Staff at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Midway they informed me that they were only my preferred location and I would have to go to another location to pick up my truck. They made no effort to accommodate my needs even though they had (3) similar trucks to my reservation just sitting out in the lot. I wish I could give Zero stars for this business. I will not use them again!

Comment: I have used multiple services from this location and have received exceptional customer service, especially from the store manager Chris Weersing. I highly recommend this location to everyone. There were outside factors with my moving and storage needs that complicated things and Chris made sure every issue was resolved and went out of his way to do so. This is how customer service is supposed to work.
