Beyond disappointment in how things have been handled. I was told 5 business days would get my refund Im still waiting. Every person here needs training because Noone knows what they are doing. Your best bet is to find somewhere else to rent because this place Wil damage your property like it did mine.

Comment: I went from their shop to Rancho Del Oro and back twice (~30 miles). One month later I get a bill for 77 miles. The distance from Oceanside to *Hollywood*... I think someone entered something in error.Ive been here multiple times, and we should all keep in mind, that the kindest and most respectful people arent 30 years olds who work at UHAUL. Their service sucks cuz thats the type of people who would work there. Dont expect so much from people.Ill just avoid this UHAUL in the future, and recommend that you do so too; its the only thing us consumers can do.

Comment: Worst shopping experience ever. New Manager is probably the reason. I have rented a trailer and had two hitched installed on other vehicles from this location before. I ordered a trailer hitch ( after waiting on hold for 20 minutes). Part was on order. Made an appointment to have installed, took half a day off work. Manager calls me an hour before appointment ; part not in yet. He will call me when it is in. 3 weeks later; I call the store( another 20 minute wait on the phone. Its in; someone should have called you . Let me take your name and number. Someone will call you. 2 days later, I call and ask, why no one has called . Someone named Jonathon tells me I need to be more patient and hangs up on me.I gave up and had it installed at a place in Temecula. I called and asked for a refund. The guy who was filling in for the manger, was actually very helpful. He told me to bring the truck in that day, and he would take care of it. I had already paid the other place to install the hitch,.

Comment: The people there were upbeat and one guy was extremely playful; however, they didn’t see to it that I was taken care of. I was picking up a trailer and wanted to see the sizes (I reserved two in case I needed something bigger). They lazily told me to go outside to “x” location and come back in. I had already waited in line for 20 minutes or so. When I got outside they didn’t even have the actual size I reserved first.When I got back inside they (who had instructed me to go look after waiting for 20 minutes) had moved on to another customer. I had to stand at the back of the line again. Another 10 minutes went by before I was called to the front of the line. I appreciated that. I just wish there would have more customer service.They didn’t have the equipment to fill my reservation for the 4x8 and no steps were taken to make up for that fact. I was so stressed and upset at the time I didn’t even think about what I should do, so I decided I’d handle it on the other end.

Comment: I just did an in-town move. Originally I went in for a 5’X8’ trailer; I ended up needing more room as well as a ramp. Dylan and the other gentlemen were incredibly helpful transferring my reservation and not hitting me with crazy fees or taking up any time swapping equipment, or the dreaded “we dont have that truck here.”Very fluid operation. As someone who works in customer service, I was very happy to see the way the team there communicated, both to myself, the customer, and to their co-workers with ways of improving reservations etc, in order to create a smoother operation. They seemed to speak to each other, and most importantly, me, the customer, professionally and calmly. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Best and easiest uhaul experience Ive had, and Ive done many.

Then she decides to have a full on conversation with the mechanic that works there instead of helping me, and finally tells me again, there are no trucks available, and to check out the other spots.I just went online and reserved a truck for the little time that I need it for, and yet you have people in your store ignorant to lie to your face. Comment: Ok. A U-Haul business is pretty much the same but it comes down to the employees working there, management, and friendliness. Dylan the GM is awesome. We had issues with a u-haul hitch that was causing major electrical issues on our 2017 Subaru . So of course the Subaru dealership maintenance department was the typical condescending attitude.We got to the U-Haul place and Dylan listened, read the report from the Subaru maint jerks, walked down a block to get the car from my wife and took care of it. Normally companies get defensive with stuff like this be he was cool. Took care of the issue, walked us through what he did. Showed us what was wrong, actually replaced some stuff Subaru took off and was nice about the whole thing.There are closer U hauls to where we live but we want Dylan to work on the warranty replacement items so were more than happy to drive farther to come back.If you need a U-Haul the Oceanside location is the place to go and ask for Dylan.

The clerk was rude, curt, and ineffective. He offered no empathy or problem solving. They never notified me about any changes and he refused to look and see if there was an issue with their system or some way to resolve my questions or concerns. Ive had bad experiences at Uhaul before, but this one takes the cake!I left without making a scene because there was no one there that could help and it was pointless dealing with him. My entire schedule for the day was ruined by their horrible service and it ended up costing me additional money, as well. Dont waste your time, take your business elsewhere.

Comment: Have had a storage unit here for several years, since they made us move our unit into smaller worse quality U-boxes for their renovations we have had nothing but problems. Their front office staff is very rude, and unorganized. Everytime I call to schedule access to my box (went from immediate access to now requiring 24 hours notice) I am asked to leave information and wait for a call back which never comes. Several times i have shown up at the scheduled access time only to be told that they need 24 hours notice despite having told them multiple times the week prior. Dylan the manager is particularly unhelpful and seems to be the only forklift certified person on site. This means when he shows up 2 hours late smelling of pot, we have to wait for him to get settled, have his coffee, and then get propane for the forklift. He went offsite for propane despite Uhaul offering propane refills onsite to customers. The front desk person LaVonne is very rude over the phone and has a very dismissive attitude towards customers. Had I known the team was so unorganized we would have moved our storage unit to another company/location.Cannot emphasize how much I do not recommend this location or its staff.

Comment: So I have a small moving business the last time I rented a U-Haul I come to find out theres a dispute that is still pending and they are looking to collect more money I was told this at the end of the process when I want to go rent 1 now they wanted an additional $290 on top of the 150 that already collected so being that I was not ready to pay that money I told my client that I was going to be unable to get her a Uhaul and to provide my service for her so she would need to come in there and obtain the Uhaul herself having lost face with my customer and probably lost that business I waited at the U-Haul for her to arrive because it was nearing closing time she got there 10 minutes before closing time I hand her her money and said thank you for the business she later called me and told me how they denied her at Uhaul because of the fact that she was associated with me.. no I lost that business for sure. The Adolescent stuff that is employed there is a very easy explanation as to why she was not able to obtain and you are it was due to the fact that your employees and Uhaul did not want to work 4th at 8 show up and renter a U-Haul because they were ready to punch out and go home I would much rather hear the truth then you hear a store policy that I know does not exist if youre going to give you a business to you all dont give it to this location

Comment: We reserved a tow dolly for Sunday afternoon. One hour prior to pick up they called to tell us they didnt have the reserved tow dolly and wanted to up grade us to an auto transport. When we arrived we realized the auto transport was over 2000 lbs which was above our towing capacity. The girl at the desk was trying to tell us it was ONLY 150 lbs over maximum and it was our only option, unless we were willing to wait an extra day and drive 2 hours out of our way to El Cajon or 4 hours to Alpine. I tried to explain I could be cited for towing over weight and risked damaging my vehicle. Her co-worker stepped in and tried to help me find another location, which earned her a number of dirty looks and snide comments from the original clerk. Although I appreciate the 2nd clerks willingness to help, I wont be back and this is a location I will not recommend.

Comment: I have rented several U-Haul trucks over the last 2-3 years and after a bad experience at an alternate truck pick up site (not a Uhaul site) I will ONLY rent from this location. The staff & manager have always been friendly and efficient during the rental process & return.This month, I encountered a billing issue regarding my recent truck return and spoke to the manager Ryan. He was understanding & offered helpful information.If it ended there-they would get 5 stars, but sadly corporate Uhaul or their billing main office OVER CHARGED me $30 and didnt even contact me to explain the higher than expected charge. NOT THE WAY TO CONDUCT BUSINESS...AND STAY IN BUSINESS in my opinion. I tried to reach Ryan today & learned he only works from 7am-11:30am or sometimes until about 1pm. The staff said only the manager can help with the billing issue yet his available hours are very limited. So now I have to wait until I can get in contact with Ryan before any billing correction can be processed. This is disappointing!

Comment: The women that helped us was helping 3 other people. She was rude & took forever to help us. She was irritated by my spouse for tapping on the counter & rudely asked him to stop. I rate her a1When I called later that day I stole w/a gentleman that was so Kind & helpful. He desires a 5 plus.Depending on who you get depends on you experience. Definitely some inconsistency w/service.

Comment: I came in at my appointed time for a trailer hitch install. Had to wait in line for 10 minutes. The lady then informed me that their install guy was on lunch. While I was waiting the manager ignored me while I waited. While I was in line the worker asked the mangager for some help before his break and he was very condesending to her then left while I was in line. While still in line he came back then helped another customer. I also observed him being rude and disrepectful to other customers that came in as well.The manager eventually offered to install the hitch himself. It took a while but was eventually done. Before I drove off I checked it and it was the wrong hitch. They replaced it with the other one, having to wait another 45 minutes. The manager charged me more money as the second hitch was more expensive than the first. When I requested a refund of the install fee he became rude and unapologetic.Poorly run, hostile environment.
