Comment: The employee at this location looked like he didnt want to be bothered. Walked into the check out area and he was sitting down behind the register with his head down, looking at his phone and his earbuds in. Look, Im fine with someone just chilling at a low paying job like this, but when you can barely look at a customer and mumble a few words to explain what we need to do to finish the rental return process, is where I have an issue. I told this employee that Im returning a rental and he didnt even say anything coherent, most likely due to his attention being centered on whatever was playing in his ears. I gave him the keys to the truck, he did his checks and he asks me where the furniture blankets were as I was mistaken that those were rentals and I didnt just buy them which wasnt very clear on the website when I ordered the rental truck. I asked him what they cost to just purchase as I didnt want to have to drive home and back just to return them. Again, this employee looked bothered that I was forcing him to do his job. Instead of telling me what they cost to purchase, he spends about 5 minutes on his phone and then tells me I owe an additional $11, instead of telling me what it cost to purchase them. He didnt break down cost for extra mileage, tell me that the gas level was okay or even what my total was when I asked, TWICE. He just told me it was an extra $11. After a very long day of moving, I was too exhausted to deal with this employee so I paid and never got a receipt. I rented this truck from a location in El Monte and returned same day in Ontario and the employee interaction was night and day with the El Monte employee being great and the Ontario employee being horrible.

Comment: I have used this particular U-Haul facility and business for the last 9 years that Ive lived in Ontario, California. As of February 1st I was evicted from my home and needed to get a truck to go ahead and move my items into storage as me and my family were becoming homeless. Due to the horrible weather that we had at the beginning of February I unfortunately was not able to bring the van back at its scheduled time I called the I called the building spoke with an associate and they told me that I should be able to have the van picked up if it was necessary to and when said called corporate and then regional I was then told that that was a lie and I also expressed that I wasnt able to afford to pay for the other days that would be charged because again Im a single mom about to be homeless they still charged me $160 plus $108. That is two nights worth of motels for me and my boys. And I have been in dispute with my bank and have now going to be in dispute with U-Haul Im not happy with my experience I feel that I was completely taken advantage of when I was already going through a really tough time in my life that yes poor decisions were made unfortunately I trusted people that I thought I could trust that were not able to have my back in order to get the van back at the appropriate time as promised but when the U-Haul came to pick up the van I didnt sign anything they didnt go over pricing with me they didnt go over anything. I did not even receive a follow-up call from the store manager who is adamant about not wanting to pick up the vehicle from me and wanting to call the police because I still had the vehicle and nothing I just get double charged and because the card went through thats it. Unfortunately after the situation I will never use U-Haul again I cannot believe the unbelievable amount of distrust that I have within a company that Ive used for so long that was always so accommodating to the fact that again being a single parent Im only one human with two hands. I understand that as a human I have to make the I have to make the moves on my end to make it work in order to use U-Haul or any type of truck facility cuz I am only one person but at the same time work with your customers. And so I wont be happy until I get my money back and even then I may never use U-Haul again especially U-Haul of Ontario off of hole boulevard.

Comment: Scheduled an appointment for a hitch to be installed on my husband’s truck as a Christmas present. I was given a date and a time and was told that I would receive a confirmation text. I never received the confirmation text so I called at 6:00 am and got an answering service person named Renee. She was very accommodating and sent a message to the Ontario U-Haul asking them to contact me ASAP to confirm my appointment. They never called me so I called them. The person who answered said that they don’t even install hitches at there location and that I would receive a call back from one of their employees who was helping another customer. I never received that call so I ended up calling another company to have my husbands hitch installed. What a joke! I will never recommend this company to anyone!

From the initial person I contacted to make the reservation down to the companies that are referred out for moving my items all the way to the service center and storage for my items, I find nothing but praise for everyone involved, particularly Hayden and the gentleman that works with him the nightshift Friday.

She was beyond happy with an employee named Nehemiah who made multiple phone calls, sometimes using two phones at once, looking for inventory of the part we needed. Nehemiah also handled other customers with expediency while giving her the attention of a legend. Our time at this location has made our cross country road trip much less stressful than it could have been.The team at this U-Haul location are life-savers! My daughter and i will be trailering her motorcycle home when were crossing the hottest parts of the country thanks to them.We cant recommend them enough. They may not have the solutions to your niche unique problems but they will move mountains to connect you with the rest of their teams who can. The best part is that all of the teams together will help you get what you need!Nehemiah & his crew are the best!

Comment: On Saturday, I picked up a van from U-Haul just after they opened at 7 am.The person at the counter was friendly and pleasant, yet after that things went south.I get in the van and find that the gas is below E. Besides being inconvenient, according to my contract, I am supposed to return the vehicle at 5/8th full.I ask to notify the office person, and says to bring it back just above E.While I was annoyed, I decided to go get gas and go about my way.As I am driving to go get gas, I notice the tire pressure indicator.I pump $30 of gas into the van and drive it back to the UHaul.We tell the sales guy, and he instructs us to have an employee pump air into the tires.They do that, and off I go. The warning light remained on until I returned the van.About an hour before returning the van, the low gas light came on once again with about 60 miles remaining in the tank. I stopped and added almost $20 to tank.I finish our work and return the van. At UHaul, they proceed to question me about not filling the van to 5/8. I share the story, show my gas receipts and then ask me why didnt I take a picture. I stated the did not tell me to do so.My question to UHaul is why didnt you check your van for gas and tire sensor? I am a customer, not an employee.The guy checks the mileage and confirms that I could not have used 5/8 of gas after adding $50 in gas.After about 10 minutes, they allow me to leave.Despite the above, I was okay with UHaul until this morning.They just called me to ask when am I returning the van. Seriously.The guy asks well, when did you return it. I said about noon on Saturday.Clearly, this place is not managed well. I would not recommend this UHaul at all.

When I first walked into the location he was on a personal call and rudely said hold on I’m on the phone with attitude and continued on his personal call with his friend for 5 minutes. I requested a appliance dolly which he forgot to put on the rental and wasted 30 minutes of my time getting it handled. Upon walking to check in I was greeted with attitude by the agent up front as if I was inconveniencing him after I had rearranged my entire schedule and left work to drive 20 mins to them. After having fully paid for the installation and product, I was told they “may or may not” be able to install my hitch because they were short staffed for the day. The manager then proceeded to “help” me and tell me the hitch installer had family problems the day prior and told them he wouldn’t be able to come in. So with over 24 hours notice of them knowing their employee wouldn’t make it, it didn’t occur to them to let their scheduled clients know of the situation.Not one apology for the inconvenience or anything. Greeted with attitude and excuses. UHaul must be so proud of the workers they have greeting their paying customers.

A female mover packed up the truck SO FAST and Tetrised the heck out of our gear. It made our move so much less stressful and it wasnt very expensive at all for the work we got. I had never used movers before but I am giving these guys number to everyone from here on out!

Comment: Horrible experience. I rent a 20 truck 3 weeks in advace to the moving day. The location and times were confirmed. Then I entered in a loop of changes and upates to my reservation. So far it has been changed 4 times. Still havent get a confirmation that I will have a truck to move. I have spent enlessles hours tracking emails, speaking with people and being transfer from person to person. I decided to file a claim after the 3rd change to my confirmed reservation. Havent heard back from Management yet. They overbook their trucks and just keep playing with peoples time, health and pacient. HORRIBLE

Yesterday I picked up an auto transport trailer drove to pick up the car, when we started to load the car on the trailer I realized the tire strap end was cut off & I could not safely tow the car. I had to take the trailer back to U=Haul and get another trailer. Wasting two and a half hours of my time. This is the second time Ive had a problem within the last month renting an auto transport. Last time the strap was frayed, but I was able to use it. I doubt they are inspecting their equipment prior to renting them out.

Comment: My first experience with uhaul was a complete disaster. I was promised a truck at 730am show up to the spot to find out that it opens at 9am. I call customer service they all seem to be half asleep and have no means to resolve the issue. Eventually they tell me to download the app so I can figure it out myself. I proceed to do that which doesnt resolve much I get another phone number to the General manager Abel Hernandez. I give him a call and get all my calls sent to voice mail forcing me to wait for hour and a half just to my truck that I was already promised.

The sad thing is that theyre understaffed- I go there for propane and will not anymore because I end up spending 15+ minutes in line waiting to pay for it. I understand a line, but while signing contracts, vehicle inspections etc. that takes place should also have an express style option that allows the casual propane or box shopper to pay and get out.

Comment: The manager (a.m.) is a real piece of work. The first guy walked around and told me I was good to go. Granted the truck was dirty, but no new damage. Then a.m. seeing that I didnt have my contract decided he would go and FIND some new damage. To begin with, the truck was dirty when they gave it to me. Secondly, every truck in their lot has damage that isnt indicated with the x sticker. Go see for yourself!! Save yourself the headache and avoid this branch at all costs!!

Comment: I have used this location twice. The first time went without issue. The second time I rented a pickup truck and a motorcycle trailer, drove 12 miles and returned them within a few hours. Their yard personnel unhooked the trailer and parked the truck when I dropped them off. I was charged for 100 miles and never received the receipt through my email. I called the next morning and was told they showed the vehicles were still out and not returned. They had no idea their own staff had checked in the vehicles and the vehicles were on the lot and were just going to keep charging me! How can you run a business and not know whats going on with it!After calling the toll free # and the location, my overcharge was returned about a week later.

Comment: Top 5 U Haul sites EVER! Drove a 16 truck with my car in tow to Ontario CA from Texas. arrived in a new city on a rainy night..... SO frazzled trying to follow my GPS directions during a deluge. Reduced to tears by the time i arrived. Needed to uncouple my tow dolly and leave my car at this site overnight. Sara greeted me and her attitude was so calming. She picked that tow dolly right off the back of the truck. Next day, returned but could not find my lock for the storage unit. Sara was there again the next morning.....lent me a lock and keys with a smile until i could find mine. EVERY single time i have been to this site, which was daily during the first 2 weeks, EVERY employee was respectful, attentive and helpful. These guys are WAY off the chart relative to the majority of U Haul sites..... they work as a team and customer service is truly customer service here

Comment: I had a reservation for 5pm I DID call them and told them I was going to be late ... But b4 7pm... I got there at 6:05 and my truck was gone anyway!! Claiming that they will rent it out if you dont pick it up within an hour of your reservation!!! No one ever told me that AND didnt read it on the website OR anywhere and when I called them to tell them I was going to be late (That was a waste of time because it didnt show up on the computer that I called Even though I thought I was calling that shop directly!) nobody told me that there either !!! Like moving isnt stressful enough ⁉️‼️that just really messed my (OUR) weekend up!!! .... I said, well ... I called ‼️‼️‼️ and they only have one, 26 footER ( but I c 55? Other (SAMALLER) trucks ..... ) Wake up people, Americans are pack rats!!! Me included. UHAUL Upsize your upgrade THE TRUCK INVENTORY.... dammit and start doing digital inventory your trucks!!!! Just a suggestion from somebody that has used them way too much the past couple years!!!Because I dont have my own damn truck!!! 😩😩😩😩😩.Besides that, the cab of the truck ... DIRTY ... dirty! popcorn, soda pop and whatever it looks like a movie theater with the lights on.

Comment: I reserved a trailer to haul my stock 1993 toyota land cruiser. I never said it was 4x4 but they put that in the contact. I picked up the trailer that they choose and i drove 2 hours to pick up the land cruiser and once i had the land cruiser on i went to put the hold down on the front tires that came with the trailer they chose and the actual strap that goes inside the piece to rachet on both sides werent long enough so i wasnt going to risk hauling it home with just the chain around the front axle and the one on the back axle especially since i had my 2 little girls with me. So i had to find a trailer out where i was at that would work. I towed it home on the other trailer. The guy up front juan had told me it was reserved for me from 9am till 3:30pm, but i had till 6pm to turn it back in. so i had told him as long as everything goes as planned i should have it neck before 6pm. He left me s voice mail at 5:30, then he called my wife to see where the trailer was. I called him and told him what had happened once he asked me if i was almost to the uhaul because another customer was waiting for it. I told him it wasnt going to be today but tomorrow, so he said thats not going to work cause the other customer is there waiting for the trailer so he was going to charge me a late fee and i told him hey i told you the make of the car i was going to tow and you guys gave me one that the straps were short and werent even and i could tell they had torn before so thats why the straps didnt work and he told me that the tires had to be over 33 in and thats why the straps were short so i told him to let me speak to a manager and he said there wasnt one there, but he would let the people working on Sunday about the short straps and about the trailer being delivered on Sunday. He also told me that in my paperwork it should state something about the tire size and i told him well i told you the make and model of the car i was towing and you guys have me the trailer that had the the straps short because they had been torn before but never replaced.... bad customer service!
