Comment: I was having trouble with the self check in.A representative came right up to me to see if I needed assistance. Outside even! I hadn’t even entered the device doors and was already being helped. They “took care of it” for me. I mean literally. After about 60 seconds the representative emailed me my receipt and had me on my way. 11/10 stars. Thank you so much for making a difficult process so easy to finish.

She wouldnt answer my question about computer vs mobile differences when doing reservations and just kept repeating herself and being rude to me. I typically rent from Santa Clara, and this experience was just beyond terrible because of her rudeness. I dont know why she wasnt having a good day, but dont take it out on your customers.

If you have no other choice, be prepared to extra waiting, hidden charges that get added accidentally after you signing the contract etc. It will be small amount that leave a bad taste but probably not worth calling to clarify and endure more impolite.The mountain view site is way more courteous and professional.

Comment: I’ve already written my review for U-Haul itself but this location is amazing they have a ton of trucks and trailers to use and rent as well as storage the employees here are amazing every single one of them have always been kind and respectful and patient and I’ve seen them deal with some real Jerks in terms of customers but they always stay calm and respectful and handle their business like professionals. Very good place to go if you ever need to rent a trailer or a truck !

They advertised one price for a product and charged me a higher price (difference was small but the false advertising was my issue), and also the attendants didnt provide me an accessory that was supposed to be given with a product I purchased (which will lead me to 1 additional trip to the store which was totally avoidable). When I called to check with them regarding this, the attendant was totally nonchalant, as if it was my mistake to not be aware that the accessory wasnt included in the package!

We had a blowout traveling down a busy 4-lane interstate during rush hour. It completely set us back a half day in our journey. Otherwise, things went well. Comment: Very expensive and dishonest service, no human interaction from. I rented a van on Saturday at Postal Annex office 1553 in Santa Clara and due the traffic wasnt able to return it at 4.30pm. I called the employee and explain that I am about half an hour late and I can leave the van next to the office where the another vans are located. He ask me to bring the van Monday morning because Sunday his day off and then charged me as much as possible for his weekend referring to following instructions.I highly dont recommend this office and this service!

Comment: I cant get in to my unit with my card or the app or the access code, the QR code for 24 hour access doesnt work, and despite having multiple signs on the wall outside stating you can get 24/7 access YOU CANT!! I cannot access my things or my childs diapers or clothes. Now I have to go buy things I dont need because I cant access my own things. I am beyond frustrated!! Especially given the OBSCENE prices charged for storage. Oh, and the around town pricing for the trucks is a straight up LIE. I rented a truck for less than 24 hours and drove it a grand total of 14 MILES, and it was OVER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS. Additionally, the access doors on the side have had wood over them for weeks+ rendering them useless half the time, and the bathroom is consistently out of order. If I had it to do over again, I would find somewhere else!!!

Comment: Best Uhal location that Ive been to! I almost went to the one closer to my house, but it was worth paying for the extra few miles! We were confused on part of our return of our van rental, but Angie was incredibly patient with us and talked us through the details. Overhearing the few customers in front of us, I could tell that this 1st of the month on a holiday weekend was proving to be a stressful day, but even though we were near closing time, Angie was energetic, incredibly attentive, and made sure that we were well taken care of!Overall, I was very impressed by how organized and well maintained the lot and store is. There were a lot of well placed and useful items to purchase, and plan to get all my moving supplies here next time! The place was spotless! I was also surprised to get someone on the phone so quickly when I called to make changes to my reservation. In less than 2 minutes everything was taken care of and my pick up went very smoothly. When I arrived, I was feeling a little bit dizzy from the heat and the long drive, the person helping me out noticed my discomfort and brought me a bottle of water. This was so kind and helped me feel better. When checking out, everything was explained to me clearly, and I felt confident that I had the best price and value for my purchase. The staff here is so customer oriented I felt like I was checking into a hotel instead of picking up a rental van! They sincerely care about the quality of work and it shows that they take pride in their workplace. I think this speaks to the quality of management, and great skills and personalities of the team members at this location!

Lots of confusion around my reservation even with reservation number. Guy told me the incorrect information with regard returning truck with fuel in the tank. He SAID return with exactly the amount it has, which was 35 miles and I returned with 41 miles!!!! UHaul charges me for gasoline, I am furious about all of this misinformation. Complete incompetence. UHAUL, you dont deserve my follow up business!!!!!!

I have almost gotten into fights, there is almost always crazy people there, and the parking to go into the storage portion is badly marked and not regulated. People just park wherever they can fit most of the time blocking other people. Im clearing my stuff out and will not be back. The security system is a joke, by the way.

You are supposed to slide your card to turn off your unit but a lot of people don’t so the alarms inside go off all the time and nobody does anything about it. Very noisy for no reason and the alarm is right at ear level. Why have alarms when they do nothing but annoy people.

Comment: The lines are very long here, they appear to be understaffed. So long that I initially didn’t expect to rate this place well. But in my two visits here, while it’s taken a long time to get through the line, I’ve found that the staff are helpful and professional. The lines are often caused by single customers who don’t know what they need, so it takes a while for the employees to get things sorted. This is of course not their fault; if you’re not behind particularly unprepared customers, the line moves fast.The staff here really is very pleasant. The slightly older gentleman (a bit of grey hair, not actually particularly aged) has been thorough and kind every time I’ve encountered him or seen him interact with others. Humans are impatient and it’s difficult to impress after a 20 minute line, but the people here do it with ease.

Comment: I didnt believe in the Devil until I met the lady at the truck rental center that tries to pick fights with customers. My friend went to try to retrieve my hand truck from them that I accidentally left in the truck, and the lady made up every excuse to not give it back to us, and when my friend who is pregnant went to look for a restroom while waiting, she said she was going to call the cops for her snooping around. She actually called the cops! Lol. And kept trying to argue with them that my friend was causing problems but of course wasnt getting anywhere with wasting their time. Im mostly sure its the same lady from that location who yelled at me over the phone when I asked for them to waive the extra fee that they failed to show on the reservation. Anyway I dont think Ive ever found someone in customer service with such anger issues.On the other hand, the other lady that I first talked to when renting the truck a few days earlier, a new employee who said she had only beed there for a couple weeks, was *super* nice and helpful and energetic and smiling. I hope she moves up to replace the devil.

When arriving with a hired moving company, one of the uboxes onsite had the wrong container ID, so I had to go to front desk to correct this.After waiting for half an hour, the coordinater said the right container can be moved out for my loading, but it could be at random places on the field. The moving company cannot move furnitures to different ubox containers at hundred yards apart. This ended up in a debate.Then I had to search for and speak to the manager. The manager seems helpful and moved the container to the location close to other uboxes from the same order.Then a new issue came, we suddenly noticed the hitch was cutted almost into half which makes the locker very vulnerable (The last time we acccessed the same container the hitch was at the full length). So another conversation started with them but unfortunately have to leave it as it was since it was late aleady and there is no way to fix it without my presence.Overall, the ubox thing might work for shipping homestuff around, but there seems always having issues one after another which could surprise you. That reduces efficiency and creates chaos in certain extent. In my case, the moving company had to wait for the coordination with fully loaded truck, which cost 200 more usd out of my pocket.I took lots of pictures just in case getting surprised in new ways. But no idea if any new issues could come up. I keep the right for further debate if items get missing or damaged, or delivered to wrong place, etc.The price is cheap but maybe ubox could consider providing more reasonable service even with charging a bit more. Or next time probably other service provider which is more accessible could be a better option.

Arrangements had already been made with help for one day work. Not for multiple trips. Milage cost and extra gas. We were offered a cargo van instead. First attempt to do transaction, wrong key. Next try with right key, battery dead. Next van was low on gas but took it. No discount for the inconvenience whatsoever. Couldnt use it for more then one haul due to limited space. Very disappointing. Many items and more time lost to finish project. Uhaul just added more stress to an already time limited situation.

Comment: I needed to rent a truck and trailer to move a car. The truck was great and everything worked out fine. I just dont know why every time I rent from U Haul their vehicles are always dirty. So dirty I had to stop and wash the windshield so I could see out of it while driving into the sun. I had to wash both inside and outside. Its not just this location either. Every location has the same problem. But if you bring it back dirty you get charged a minimum of 25 bucks to clean it. Sounds like someone is pulling a fast one on us customers. Be sure to check you final bill for a cleaning charge if it was clean when you returned it.

When trying to access our ubox shipping containers they were initially helpful with my wife but the day we arrived to clear them out they 1) blamed the national call center for not notifying them I would need to access the containers, 2) told us we should have called the facility the day before to REMIND THEM we had scheduled access, 3) admitted they missed the notice, and repeat notice (I called the call center twice to schedule and then confirm). So now Ive been sitting in an empty box truck waiting to unload my containers for an hour and theyre not sure when somebody will be here who is authorized to remove one from the top of the stack with a forklift. Confused? Me too. Whats clear is they dont give a damn about the customer or your time/money here. At all.

They did not have enough staff to service the traffic, so we had to wait almost 20 minutes to see someone; there were only 2 people ahead of us when we got there.The staff was polite, but not particularly professional. For something like renting big trucks, Id like to have a staff that was a little more eager to be at their jobs; rental car companies have mastered this.The location is pretty convenient, although Google maps tried to take us a very long way to get there. Do yourself a favor and read the map before following the voice. Also, if youre renting a truck, use the online check-in to save yourself time when you pick up the truck.

I reserved several weeks in advance and read the fine print that they had the right to change locations so I double and triple checked with them a week before and they had moved my pick up location to Fremont. Then a day before pick up, they told me the only trailer they had left in the size that I booked was in Santa Cruz and they were not willing to help with anything to bring it closer. When youre making moving plans around a certain size trailer, its very difficult to suddenly change and to spend 4+ hours driving just to pick it up. I will never be booking with Uhaul again.
