Comment: I ordered the truck about 2 weeks before the moving date. I even called 2 days before to confirm the truck would be there. On work day I had a paid crew waiting to load but when I showed up at the designated dealer, no truck. I called uhaul and they said oh sorry, someone didnt return it last night! Now how in the hell is that my problem?? I know that if it was my business, and the truck didnt come back, I would not just say oh well, the hell with the customer. I would go to where the truck was, get it, and bring it back so it would be there the next morning. What the hell kind of service is that? Or, the night before I would find another truck and make sure that it was there in the morning.

Comment: I won’t be renting from UHaul Burbank ever again. The truck was on empty when we received it, and even though there were several trucks in the lot, instead of getting us one with a full tank, the associate said we’d have to go fill it and then report it to UHaul for a reimbursement. That was beyond mildly inconvenient given we were on a tight enough schedule having to return the truck by 5pm. Also, we were charged for six blankets in the truck and it only had two. Just too many problems to make this an enjoyable and easy rental.

Comment: I feel so bad for the workers who have to deal with all of the complaints for this location.There was one person working with a line out the door from opening until I returned that afternoon, looking like he never got a break in between.My 10’ truck was falling apart from the very start. I was renting for only a few hours, from Irvine to Burbank, and truly felt the truck was not going to make it out of the parking lot. Clanking metal, broken steering that would correct the car forward when at high speeds, and a constant smell of rubber/ oil whenever I turned on the air.If U-haul has a decent reputation elsewhere, I would probably just avoid this specific location.

Comment: I called like 6 u-haul locations in the surrounding area for a motorcycle trailer and truck to tow it and this was the only location that had them available. I was able to put a truck and motorcycle trailer on hold for the weekend I needed it over the phone in 5 min. This was my first time at u-haul and the process was super simple. I showed them my license, they gave me the keys, they set up the trailer for you, and you’re good to go. This was also my first time towing something. Luckily this wasn’t in issue as far as rentals go and it’s as easy as it looks! All in all I paid about $5 in gas and about $75 to rent it for 4 hours/40 miles which was much more reasonable than paying $200 COD for someone to tow the bike home from the dealership for me. The lady at the front desk was super nice too and that’s always a plus.

Comment: Pros: easy to reserve online, rental truck got the job doneCons: only one employee so theres a wait to pickup; I rented 2 dozen furniture pads for my move but they werent packed and ready for me at the time of my pickup so the employee said I could fold and pack the used pads myself if I wanted them quicker. SO many spiders came out of those things and I was running late for my move so I gave up at about 15 pads even though I paid for 24. The 10 truck I reserved had a service light on - the tire monitor system needed servicing - and the tires needed inflating. Thanks to the employee for filling the tires when I asked, but that was just another thing that delayed me on getting to my move when I had helpers waiting for me. There was also some leftover junk in the cabin from the previous driver.

Comment: It has been a very long time since I visited U-Haul. It was a very pleasant experience. I needed to get a van to pick up large and tall Linen Cabinets for a bathroom remodel. The vans have rear cameras with lines that rotate according to the driver’s wheel. The vans have wood ribs along the side to tie down items. Kim helped me out and had me in and out on the road within 10 minutes.U-Haul has after hours delivery and full pre check in with your cell phone.I am very happy with the service and cargo vans from U-Haul.

Comment: I was first given a truck that immediately overheated and broke down, thankfully I was able to get it back to the place just in time. They were quick to get me a replacement van, which was nice. What wasnt nice was that I was given the van with 1/16 tank of gas (I didnt even realize how low it was at first but I got the low gas warning when i got to DTLA which was about a 20 mile drive), returned it with 3/8 tank, and was charged 45 DOLLARS for TWO GALLONS of gas because I was apparently given the van with a half tank. I guess thats how this place makes its money. Will not be returning, and I recommend everyone else go to any of the other Uhaul locations in the area because Ive never dealt with anything like this from any of the others

We worked with Kim who was efficient, kind, and so very helpful getting us set up with the truck and car transport. She answered our questions with knowledge and patience. She observed us having a bit of a struggle and came back outside to share guidance on how to safely load and secure our vehicle. Comment: This review is long over due, i had a last minute enquiry for a 26ft to vegas and there is nothing available at other rentals trucks ) Penske wich i normally rent from them.The Manager ( Kim ) was able to find me a truck right away at another location near by, at first( i thought, she will not call me back at all )she goes out her way for customer, and she could just have just said to me, i am sorry dont have trucks available at all. But instead she did called me as promised and got me a 26ft truck and i was able to get to vegas ! Amazing customer service! Top notch. Thanks again Kim.🙏🏼

Comment: Ive been getting propane at the North Hollywood U-haul for 10 years and have been happy wih the friendly professional service until tonight. The store closes at 7pm and I unfortunatley arrived at 6:45 pm and ask to get a propane tank filled. One employee claimed the pump was broken while the employee at tht pump said the propane pump wasnt broke, but that they were closing. I was turned away without having my propane tank filled.

Comment: Lady who was at the register to check out the vehicle was rude and was “too busy” to come out to the truck. After driving a block, I noticed the gas gauge was slightly less than 1/4 of a tank. Thank God I pulled over and took a picture, just in case. So, I checked my email and the checkout lady neglected to send me my receipt. So, I had to call haul and have them send me a copy of the receipt. When this happened, I noticed that it claimed the fuel gauge was at 1/2 tank. So, I let them know this on the 1-800 number. Then, when I returned the vehicle a different lady (who was nice) took the keys and I showed her a picture of the fuel gauge with mileage of the vehicle evident on the same picture. She took a picture of my picture and supposedly uploaded it to my bill. She told me not to worry. Then, I received a $60 added fuel charge on my bill even though I returned it with MORE fuel than was originally in the vehicle. Avoid this place at all costs if you can; it’s an extra hassle to have to deal with the dishonesty and rudeness of this place and then to try to call customer service/the bank/etc. to try and straighten things out and get billed the correct amount. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Comment: Rude staff, doesnt return calls or emails. Charged an extra day on uhaul truck and every employee there said they could not refund because the manager had to. The manager ignored emails, and never called back. I went in 4 times because I also had a storage unit. EVERYTIME I went in there was no one inside and it took 15 to 20 minutes for someone to show up to get my key so I could access my storage unit and they gave attitude as if I was bothering them when they finally showed up. So. Basically avoid this location dont use their storage and dont rent uhaul trucks from them. They will charge you extra days and not refund them even after showing the turn in date and time because the manager is not in ever.

Comment: On Friday 2/5/21 I rented a 15’ moving truck from the U-Haul location in Sun Valley, CA. The experience was a slightly different with COVID-19 restrictions, but it was quick and easy to get the truck. I took it back to my old apartment I was moving out of so I could get moving first thing in the morning. When I was ready to move, I noticed someone had spray painted graffiti on the side of the truck overnight while parked. I was angry that someone had vandalized the truck, but I was glad I had purchased U-Hauls safe move protection (since it was sold as protection against damage to the vehicle) I used the truck for 30 miles and returned it less than 24 hours later. Upon returning the truck, I notified the attendant at the Sun Valley, CA location that someone had unfortunately spray painted on the truck. He looked concerned, but told me not to “worry about it, it wasn’t my fault.” I asked if there is anything else, I should be concerned with and asked how I would receive the final charges. He responded no and I will get my receipt by email.On Monday February 8th I received my email receipt with a “cleaning fee” of $150.00, to my surprise. I called the Sun Valley U-Haul to see what the fee was for, but they told me they had no idea and did not have notes, so they told me to call customer service. I called customer service and they said the same thing and that I would have to call the Sun Valley U-Haul. I called back again and said the call the manager who goes by “TJ” directly. I called twice and left a message. I called customer service once more to see what my options are since I am not getting any answers; at that point, they told me to file a customer action form. All these calls took about an hour out of my day and delayed my organization duties at home, the last thing I needed while moving was to deal with this.On Tuesday February 9th I received a call from TJ the manager, he told me the “cleaning fee” was for the graffiti. I was surprised since his attendant when I dropped off the truck told me “not to worry about it” and I assumed since I purchased “Safe Move Protection” from U-Haul I was covered. He proceeded to tell me I still owe the fee and that his weekend employee is not trained to take in trucks so he doesn’t know better and should of not said “don’t worry about it” and that the Safe Move Protection from U-Haul does not cover the graffiti. I told him I wasn’t angry about the money, but the fact that they weren’t transparent and it shouldn’t of took six calls, an hour of my time and a customer action form to get my answer, which then he became flustered and condescending. He told me I should of called him directly, which I did and he proceeded to say he did not get a call. (I have phone records showing I did) Then he said I should not make assumptions about U-Haul’s safe move protection product and that I was not covered against graffiti and that owe the fee.I read the contract and could not find anything saying I was not covered for vandalism.I write this to let you know the horrible experience I had with U-Haul, U-Haul’s Safe Move Protection and its employees. I have used U-Haul many times in the past, but this will be the last time. I hope that anyone reading this takes into account that they sell their “Safe Move Protection” with many promises, but it fails to deliver. I’m disappointed that the manager or U-Haul did not even try to remedy the situation especially when there were so many flaws in their operation. From the poorly trained and misinformed employee who checked in my truck and did not inform me of the fee or that “Safe Move” would not cover vandalism. To the customer service reps who had me waste my time on Monday calling so many different places and finally to the condescending manager who could not even attempt to rectify the situation. I’m highly disappointed U-Haul

Comment: I was stuck in LA looking for a car transport and these guys came through like the MVP’s they are. Don’t waste your time w the other uhauls. This uhaul has honest, great, and so helpful people. They’re not trynna make a sell, they’re not trynna help the company. They wanna help people and make your life easier. The manager was there by himself on Thursday morning putting in work and he gave me his word he’d call me if that car transport came early and he didn’t that exact thing. It came 4 hours early and they saved my life. And the counter man helped with the trailer and was the coolest mf ever. Thank you guys for everything I’ll definitely come back to you guys anytime I’m in LA in search of a trailer.

It is better to reserve a truck over the phone so when you get there its already taken care of. The people who work here are very nice. This is one of the smaller U hauls. They have a very small parking lot and there is street parking.

Just recently rented a 20 truck for a 3 day back-and-forth move, and when I messed something up upon return, one of the employees helped me fix it right away so that I didnt incur an extra fee. Truly went above and beyond. Ill always recommend this location.

Comment: I was very disappointed in the service level at this location. After filling out all the information online so I could speed the checkout at the facility, I go inside to pickup my rental. Im the only person there and it still takes them 30 minutes to complete the paper work, asking me the exact same questions that I had already answered online. For those that dont know, 10 or 15 minutes can mean a huge difference in traffic in Los Angeles. I knew because of the long checkout that I was going to hit more traffic and just wanted to get out as fast as possible.A week later, Im renting a car and when I pull out wallet to get my drivers license, theres no drivers license. Im somewhat frantic and I take Uber. I start thinking of the last places I used my license and it occurs to me it was this Uhaul dealership. I called them and after waiting for over 8 minutes, I get alive body to talk with. He says... oh yeah, we have drivers license. Im thinking to myself, these people had both my phone number and my email address, yet they made no attempt to contact me and tell me they forgot to give me my license back. To me, this is really a I dont give @#%$ attitude, and I hate dealing with companies that treat their customers with so little regard.

Comment: I wish I could give this place a good review, but I cant. I went with my vehicle because on the website it says at this location they do inspections to see if your vehicle is ready to pull a trailer. I asked the only staff member about it. I also asked about needing to get wiring for the trailer. He checked the vehicle to see if it had the wiring (which means he bent over the back to see if he saw any wires). He took me inside and showed me a few different wiring set ups they had. When I asked which one my vehicle needed he had no idea. I had spoken to my mechanic and he said depending upon whether your blinkers are red or yellows determines what kind of connection you need. When I asked this to the gentleman working he had no idea. He didnt even bother to look it up. He just sat behind the desk and did nothing. He never did the vehicle inspection. Train your staff. I felt as if I was speaking to someone who didnt even work there. I rated 2 starts instead of 1 because they had a clean store, lots of stock, and all the equipment I would have needed had the staff been helpful.
