Comment: I had a pretty good experience with renting a uhaul van in San Ramon. I didnt really need to speak to the front desk but I did notice no one was there. Pick up / drop off was easy except my app froze but a reboot fixed the issue (Ive had to reboot other apps on my phone in the past so didnt correlate the issue with their app). The van was slightly dirty but did not prevent me from transporting my stuff. Everything in the van worked as expected. I left my own car parked there until I was done with the van which was very convenient. It was a safe location but hidden. I would definitely rent again here.

Comment: Well run by friendly managers, easy and convenient location. I have rented 4 trucks in the past year from this location. They usually have the truck size I want, and trucks are always clean and ready to go with whatever extra equipment Ive reserved.I am *not* a fan of UHauls self check-in system. The concept is great if only it was user-friendly. The system was extremely difficult to navigate even on a brand new, top of the line cellphone (not trying to make a pitch for my phone, just saying difficulty was not due to poor technology on my end). The system kept crashing at the last step, and I ended up searching all over the website to find a live customer service number to request help in order to resolve the issue. The phone rep was patient and helpful and, after it crashed on her 3 times, she was finally able to find a work around but the process still wasnt complete. The personal identification process is over the top and should be clearly laid out at the time of reservation. They require you to upload a copy of a passport, a utility bill showing your address, or provide a name and number of a personal reference. Since I dont usually leave my house with my passport or a utility bill, the only other option was to provide a personal reference whom they called while I held on line. I was picking up the truck at 6 am, and my reference is in another time zone, 3 hours behind. They woke her up at 3 am just to ask her if she knew me.The whole thing made no sense. If I was a dishonest person, I could have simply given a number of a would-be accomplice to vouch for me, and it would have provided no assurance I was legit. Rather pointless, and it proved nothing in terms of my intentions for renting the truck or my trustworthiness. If I had known Id have to spend 40 minutes outside in the cold trying to navigate this whole nonsensical process, I would have gone to another truck rental company even if it meant paying more.Thats on the corporation, though. The local dealer, as described, came through on their end by having the truck ready. UHaul seriously needs to reconsider their system for self check-in.

Comment: Don Waist Your Time. give your self a favor and find other way or company! I Reserved a 15 car on 02/09/2021 for my move out day on 03/06/2021, almost month in advance, I got a call today 03/05/2021 the day before I move out and have been told they do NOT have available car for tomorrow!!!!! ridicules!!! I ask why and she told me you should plane ahead and not just 2 days in advance??? I told her what it was made a month ago and she hang up on me and I received an email that my reservation canceled.

Comment: Not customer friendly when calling to get a quote. Asked if they had any moving trucks available. He then asked for phone number, name, email, residential or commercial, and how many rooms. You really need all that info to tell me if you have a truck? How about just looking out in your yard. Said most people need four hours and asked how long I would need it. I asked what was the minimum, he said four hours. Why didn’t he just say that?!? Then asked for a credit card to reserve. I then asked, does that mean you do have a truck? I took my business elsewhere because of that poor customer service interaction.

Comment: Renting a truck was easy. I did it online and the truck was ready when I arrived. Prices are reasonable. When I returned the truck the office was closed. You can check the truck in online, but the process is slow.

Comment: They confirmed my reservation by email the day before my reservation. I then got a text message the morning of my reservation saying my pick-up got moved to Oakland which is 27 miles away and they expect you to pay the mileage difference. This is the 2nd time this has happened

Comment: They allegedly have an after hours pick up option, but when we tried to use it we ended up on hold trying to get help for about 30 minutes. Read on because it gets even better :)))))))Our reservation wasnt accessible through the app like it was supposed to be, and we knew this in advance and had called ahead while they were open to be sure it would still work. They assured us that our reservation was in their system and that when we arrived, wed receive an access code through their app to get the truck we were renting.It didnt work. As we had feared, our reservation still wasnt accessible when we got there, and their answering machine and obnoxious hold music were of no help. We tried multiple different phones, accessing their website through browsers instead of the app, etc., and nothing worked. So we spent over 30 minutes sitting in the parking lot trying to reach their customer service. When we finally did, they instructed us to use the app without logging into our account. We got through that with several more bumps in the road and were told which truck was ours to use, as well as the lock combination to get the key. No key was in the box that was supposed to house it. Great. But the truck was unlocked and the key happened to be left in the ignition. So we tried that. Were up to nearly an hour on the phone now, by the way.Aaand the truck was totally dead. The key did absolutely nothing. It wouldnt turn on, the headlights wouldnt turn on, the dash wouldnt light up, not even the hazard lights would turn on! Nothing. Great :))) In the end, we didnt get a truck.Thanks, I hate it.

Comment: I have used them in the past and to be honest they were so-so. I used them recently and there has been a change of owner/manager and they are outstanding now. The office is clean and neat and they service is a clean and neat as the office. I will be using them again this coming month it was such a pleasure dealing with them.
