Comment: This place needs a shakeup. Some employees here are lazy and unprofessional and should never work in the service industry again. Trucks are sent out with problems such as broken ramps on their 15 trucks and doors that do not shut all the way without slamming. They also send out trucks with dirty windshields and storage areas that are filthy. Also, Im not their Boss and do not like being addressed in that manner. This way of addressing men is endemic to a lot of service type places and is in my mind unprofessional and problematic.I lost time and money because they allowed me to rent a truck with problems and thats why Im taking the time to dump this negative review.

His exceptional service, positive and professional demeanor and knowledge made my experience the best I’ve ever had at Uhaul and probably my best customer service experience in the last 10 years.I had to run to the location in Sports Arena for additional packing paper and they were so unfriendly and unhelpful.Gustavo deserves a raise, his passion for his work and joyful attitude are infectious, he made moving (such a stressful endeavor) so much more pleasant and less stressful.

Its hard to understand the flow of equipment, where to park, where to drop things off etc.That said, the staff is good and moving things around for you. They were also VERY helpful. I would rent from here again because they seem to have the best availability of the equipment that I normally use.

Comment: Honestly if can give no 0stars I would Latherio Hoffman shouldn’t be working in customer service. June 24th around 6pm when I thought I did a reservation there. Everyone was busy. But Mr Hoffman was busy cleaning his car and smoking a black&mild (cigarette) right outside the door. Came to help me after I was inside for the past 10 minutes. He was very short answer and not explain why my reservation didn’t go through. He was getting annoyed and rolling his eyes and giggling. He didn’t care. Until Gerald stepped in and said I’m sorry for the inconvenience we unfortunately don’t have anything under my name and that the system didn’t reserve for me. He recommended me to go to national city uhual because they have them there. I did another reservation the following week July 1st same place at, where I had the terrible incident with Latherio Hoffman because it was a convenient place for me. MrHoffman tried to be nice this time but he wasn’t listening to me. I picked up 7/1/23 6:15pm told mr hoffman I needed the uhual for 24hrs. He wrote return time 3:15pm on 7/2/23. He charge me 35 miles when I told him 28 miles. And I asked him if can do anything about the mileage cost for the inconvenience from the last week and said “nah “ I didn’t argue and took what ever because nothing good would come out of arguing with him. Terrible customer service by Latherio Hoffman. He should work somewhere that doesn’t involve people.

Took me 45 minutes to get there, couldn’t even consider how far I drove to get to their location. Sitting around and can’t wait to get off work. How long could of it took to rent the truck out. Comment: The rental process was a bit clumsy: I rented through the app 30 minutes earlier, but it didnt show up in their systems for another 10 minutes after I had arrived and was at the desk. They had me go through the app again to complete the rental process, even though the app told me to show up at the store and pick up the key. I almost ended up returning the truck through the app at the desk, before the older guy behind the desk pointed out the rental was ready and went ahead and gave me the keys.Then after we went to the truck, we realized the rollup door latch was locked and had to run back into the store to get it unlocked, otherwise it would have been a huge hassle had we found out when it was too late.The staff were polite though, especially the guy I returned the truck to; he was polite, chill, and helpful.

I also wanted to point out that the specialist, David Fulford, saved me some money by explaining I could get a wiring harness thats specifically for my vehicle and it ended up being cheaper. Everything looked great when it was finished. Ill certainly go back there for rentals too.

I recently rented a midsized moving truck and only drove it for 15 miles so I put 2.5 gallons of gas in it before returning it which I thought would cover the 15 miles but they still charge me for an additional 2 gallons at $6.50 the following day. There is no way to argue with them because they were not there when I returned the truck and there is no way I burned through more than 2.5 gallons in 15 miles no matter how bad of a gas guzzler a mid size truck is. They do this all day long 2 gallons at a time.

I ordered an inch and a quarter hitch to accommodate my bike rack but after driving home Ive noticed they had installed a 2 inch hitch on my car. Comment: My moving experience with the U-Haul of City Heights staff was awesome despite going through a terrible ordeal I had with their moving van that was not their fault (engine blew out - see pic).The General Manager, Irene and staff were all friendly, helpful and professional from the start through the end. While waiting for my turn (I needed to rent moving van two days in a row), I observed that each customer was handled courteously and staff worked to keep the line moving.I have rented moving vans from this location before and will continue to come here.

No reservation was made, we were a walk in and specifically told the guy its rental before closing. Yet, time was input wrong and this rude manager without notice to customer that she charge extra on card. Regardless being told we never reserved, we walked in that morning. We want to pay cash dont charge card. We never said return time is 2 30. Without my permission she charge the card on file. Not a good place to rent. Take your business to elsewhere. Once he finished with them he took his next customer. I was too be next. He looked up from his work and proceeded to speak to the young man that i was speaking to. He told him that he was not renting him a truck. He then proceeded to say that i couldnt rent one either! He assumed that we were together! We were not. He never spoke to me directly. He never gave me a chance to be the individual customer that i was. This little fella was out of line and wildly mistaken. I recommend that this particular location recieve better customer service training. At any rate the lil guy sucks! He was about 411 with a sad pisa face. I was a gentleman and took my dose of discrimination on the chin... that lil cat is buns!

Comment: There were a few things which were visible lacking in the customer service department especially with one particular employee. This girl who works the front counter had one of the most displeasing attitudes towards her work and the customers. I am from out of state so this was the first time I had ever rented a U-Haul from this location let alone CA and let me tell you one of the worst experiences I had ever had. During the whole process she had a nasty attitude towards me and when I asked follow up questions on whether a dolly or a furniture cart would be best she pretty much ignored my question and just continued to type on her phone. Once I made a decision she asked during the process a secondary contact which was unique to me because I have rented U-Hauls in other states and never had I ever been asked this so I just asked for a reason why and she refused to tell me. I refused to give it to her until one of her peers came by overheard the discussion and took the time to explain why. Because of this girl and her difficulty in understanding the concept of customer service, I would never use this location ever again and will never recommend it to anyone. If you use this U-Haul and encounter a small petite girl with finger tattoos and a poor attitude towards customers, do yourself a favor and walk out the door.

Comment: Anabel gave me the best customer service I have ever seen at a U-haul location. I told him I had to take the 5 boxes I purchased via bus, and he immediately after purchase got a lot of twine and tied my boxes together for 5 minutes straight, making sure it was secure. Just wanted to write this review for him, as he made my long public transportation journey with the boxes so much easier!

Comment: Front desk people are just rude. They treated me like I’m just about to steal their trailer. Had to raise my voice and almost walked away from that place.It’s been 2 days since I returned the trailer and manager just called me asking when I’ll return the trailer! Come on you guys. Can’t count your own trailers.Guys who work with an actual equipment are very pleasant and professional. But the whole experience is ruined already. Never coming back.

Comment: The General Manager was really helpful and got us up and running pretty fast. I see quite a lot of bad reviews for this place, but they were fast and courteous with us. We rented a 15 truck for almost the whole day and it came out to be a little over $100, which was a pretty nice deal.

Comment: The staff was horrible! I was asking one of the staff members a question if I could use the phone there to call a cab as my phone had died on my way over there to drop off the truck. As I was talking literally in the middle of my sentence he walked away. Literally turned his back to me and said as he was walking ask the manager before I could even finish asking my question. The truck had less than a quarter tank of gas when I picked it up, and the cigarette outlet didnt work when I plugged my phone charger in it.
