Comment: The staff at the Broadway U-Haul are very nice and helpful. I rented a 10x10 truck and a dolly for my move. They have a great selection of moving boxes and different accessories you may need for your move. I ended up having to extend my rental twice, once with the U-Haul app, and once at the store while I picked up more boxes. Both times was easy. Returning the vehicle was easy also. The gentlman walked around the truck with me and then finished the last of the paper work on his work phone. Took less than 5 minutes. Make sure to reserve your vehicle early if you are moving on a weekend. I was lucky that my move was on a Tuesday and they had plenty of vehicles available. I also love that the picture on my U-Haul was a Venus Fly Trap.

Despite having my own contact details readily available, U-Haul disclosed my personal information, including my legal name and emergency contact phone number, to a subcontractor without my consent. This breach of privacy left me feeling confused and frustrated, especially considering the subcontractors unrelated complaint about parking. While I attempted to address the issue by contacting customer service and the general manager, I received no response or resolution. Moving forward, I hope U-Haul takes greater care in safeguarding customers privacy and respects their personal information.

Comment: Rented a truck online through this location to quickly move a few things on a Sunday morning . There was nothing quick or easy about this process. I was supposed to be able to pick up the key and go after completing the online reservation, however the truck I was assigned didn’t exist. After almost 40 minutes I finally got a truck and headed down the road to pick up what needed to move. I look down and the gas gage was on empty, which didnt surprise me given the poor serve I already experienced so I pull off at the nearest gas station and put $20 in. Before leaving I walk to the passenger side to adjust mirrors when I noticed gas running down the sidewalk. On further inspection, someone drilled a hole in the gas tank. After 20 minutes of being bounced around on the phone I end up getting a tow truck dispatched …from Yuba City of all places…a full hour drive from where I am located.

Comment: The worst place to fill propane. Takes forever for someone to show up and fill propane tank. Even if its your turn, if another customer brings a U haul truck, they will go right away to take care of that instead of filling the propane tank, which only takes a few minutes. The first time, they made me wait 30 minutes, and then she came told me it would take another 30 to 40 minutes. What a stupid management. What a waste of time. What a disorganized management.

They wasted my time and I had to go to woodland to get the job done. Don’t go to these guys.

Comment: I rented a truck here for a couple hours on 5/5 and returned it that same day In perfect condition. I gave the truck directly to an employee, got my email receipt, and left. On the 15th I get a text saying I owe more money and find out that I am being held financially responsible for having the truck from 5/5-5/12 and they want about $600. I look through my emails and find that aside from my first (correct) receipt sent on 5/5 they sent me a second one with completely fraudulent charges on 5/12.I call customer service and a very kind employee reassured me that it was clearly a glitch that had actually happened to multiple people and that they would fix it. On 5/18 I get an email saying they sent me a refund but seeing as I hadn’t actually been charged yet it should cancel out what charges they had heading to my account on their end.Unfortunately on the 5/24 my account was hit with the $600 charge plus a $30 late fee. At this point I am down around $630. I call customer service again and they say that someone made a mistake in refunding instead of canceling out the charge before it hit me but that I would see a refund on my account for the $600 charge next day. They also send a $30 refund for the late fee that I do see on my account that same day.It is currently 5/27 and still no refund for the original fraudulent charge of nearly $600 so I call yet again. They say that actually since it is such a large amount I need to call my bank and give a special code to them. I called my bank and am now waiting to call back Monday as they are closed and hopefully I will get my money back.While the actual employees who picked up the phone and the ones who work this location in person seem very kind and I have no anger towards them at all I just can’t recommend anyone risk going through this headache.If you must use them please use a good credit card that will allow you to dispute charges easily and check your emails diligently for surprises in the weeks following your transaction. I am still down about $600 for something I didn’t do and am just tired.

Charged when I turnrd in, but U-Haul also charged each day separately. So caused me to be overdrawn in bank & since I take Lyft to work I couldnt go because of no ride. Even got email from U-Haul saying I still owed $3. & Id be charged a $30 late payment on that balance. Really they are sitting on $33 of mime. The rep on truck return acted like I was lying about it taking my money 2x. That was uncalled for when Im the one being inconvenienced. Not sure if Ill ever rent there again. I will tell my friends about this rxperience.

The people working did their jobs but seem rushed and uninterested. One star because i actually got to drive and use the van i needed and there was a cusy help number i was able to call, and the desk lady reversed an extra fee for my dropping off after hours. The uhaul app didnt work. My account didnt show my current rental. Overall not smooth experience.On van it says 19.95 to rent but for two days of use it was a $132 total.

Comment: Do not waste your time and money at this location.Last van I rented had the gasoline stolen out of the tank and someone had cut the exhaust pipe to try and steal the catalytic converter.Went in to get a new van.They gave me one blocked in by another Uhaul vehicle.I asked an employee to help me move the blocking vehicle and was directed to go back inside and ask for a third van.Went inside for a third van. Another employee I had not spoken to yet directed me to take a different van. I explained I was not leaving the lot in a van without a paper contract.Finally got the keys to a street legal vehicle with fuel and a contract but lost 30 minutes of my life. Never renting here again.On my previous rental, I was given a truck that would not start. Probably also had all the gas stolen out of it. Had to go inside for a second vehicle.On my rental before that, I was given a van where someone had spilled a vat of cooking grease all over the cargo area. Had to go inside for a second vehicle.

No greeting, no smile, there wasn’t even eye contact. This falls below customer service; she was lacking in basic common courtesy. I did not feel comfortable in your establishment and found myself just wanting to get the transaction over with and get out of there. I will not be back nor would I recommend that location to anyone.In returning the vehicle the gentleman who checked the vehicle back was very cordial and I would Like to give complements to him.

I’ll admit I was not prepared for the long waits with checking out and checking in, most likely due to COVID-19 protocols and what I might assume could be an understaffed location. Either way, the manager Stephanie and the team at the Broadway location were the most patient and kind with everyone they dealt with, especially around a lot of—what I would call—obliviousness and confusion on many customers’ parts. The team’s professionalism to get things done as quickly and kindly as possible meant a lot to me, and this is what stood out. They all deserve the highest recommendations. Thank you again.

Comment: I currently only go here to get frustrated and leave..I use to go here for propane but it doesnt seem like they want to fill tanks any more...If you can make the wait after pressing the help button (last visit i timed 10mins before I went looking for the employee that hid when I had arrived) then maybe an employee will come and help you..begrudgingly...Also, make no mistake, they close this place early regularly, and will be rude if you need their service after they do so, even if its their regularly posted hours (happened to me twice and my co worker once..the manager even got aggressive with my co worker..sad)..today was the last time Ill be going here...too many chances to act like a real business but failed every time..too bad:(

Comment: Worst customer service ever! I had a guarenteed reservation and the trailer I ordered was not available. The people that work here have no idea what they are doing and aparently managers do not work on the weekends when most people actually move and need help. Once I was informed they did not have my trailer, the guy that was supposed to help me, had to call his manager to get me the $50 the website promises you for a guaranteed reservation. After standing in the office for over 25 minutes (not being told what was going on) I was offered a trailer at another location that would take me another 25 minutes out of my way to get to. The guy that was helping me here said they would give me the $50 on my card once I get to the location. So that almost made up for my wasted time and gas money. As soon as I leave the office, I get a call from the other location on Amber Ln. Who then tells me I actually dont qualify for the $50 guarenteed reservation because no one ever called me to confirm that they would have the trailer at my location that I selected! I told her it was not my problem that they didnt call me to confirm. I should not have to pay for their incompetence! She claimed my reservation was only made 1 hour ago so that was not their fault. I let her know my reservation was made YESTERDAY and I have the email to prove it! She then told me she would have to speak with her manager about it and she will let him know that I disagree that I do not qualify for the $50 guarenteed reservation and he will call me within 3 days. THIS PLACE IS SHADY AF! I WILL NEVER RENT ANYTHING WITH UHAUL AGAIN!!!!!

Comment: Do not go here. I repeat do not go here. I rented a uhaul for one day and brought it back. The manager Mark, comes straight to a broken plastic latch on the hood of the truck and blames me for it. He never did a walk around with me prior to that so I never saw the broken piece. He gets hostile after I repeatedly tell him that I didnt break it and i have no reason to even use the latch. Then a female coworker comes and demands that i apologize to this idiot. I couldnt believe it. This guy is a disrespectful crook and a thief and charged me $200 for something I didnt do and adds that I am banned from all uhaul agencies.. if I didnt have bigger fish to fry I would have sued.

Comment: Do NOT. I repeat, do NOT get a hitch installed here. They ruined my factory warranty on car. They made me sit for hours upon hours to get it done (wrong). I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Mark is extremely rude and demeaning and completely horrendous with customer service. I say this, not with the slightest hint of exaggeration. He treated us like dogs and after trying to get what we paid for installed correctly, we gave up. This is a warning to you... GO ELSEWHERE! Id pay quadruple the price for better service.

Comment: Bad customer service from Manager Mark. I scheduled an appointment to have a hitch installed. I was the first customer on that day. When I showed up I noticed Mark, the manager, a lady (I think her name was Ashley), and another guy working on counting truck inventory. No one cares to bother greeting me so I just wondering around in the store. Few minutes later 2 more customers walked in. Mark finally popped in from the inside door. Ashley walked in trying to help us and Mark yelled at her that she should be outside doing trucks. 1st off: that is a bad manager. He asked me what I want. I told him I have an apt. I gave me my reservation # and name. He told me that it will be a 3 hour wait time. I told him that the 800 number that I talked to said it would only be 15 minutes, then he changed the subject and said that because of how many apt before mind that is the reason for the wait time. I told him I was the first customer and no one was waiting anywhere that I can noticed. He then gave me attitude and said yes my appt is the first of the day but it will still be a 3 hours wait time because of the time of the project. I told him installing a hitch does not take 3 hours. So then I told him I will just buy the hitch and I will do it myself. Bad customer service from Manager Mark. Avoid going there. Uhaul need to get rip of this guy.

Comment: Wow, great service! Ive used this uhaul to rent a truck for in town moves before and was pleased. When I reserved a truck with a competing company for a one way move I realized my mistake with the hassles of long line wait times, full parking lot, and ticketing zones around the lot so parking my car all day was impossible. In addition the competition blindsided me with exorbidant property insurance coverage and threatened a $50 charge if I cancelled my rental. When i called uhaul to book with them same day, mark, the manager went out of his way to accommodate me, offering me a competitive rental price that matched the competition, comped extra miles to match the competition mileage, and offered uhauls standard but no less phenomenal low insurance rate of $15/day on a 17ft truck. He even promised to reduce my rental rate further if the competition gouged me with a $50 cancellation of reservation fee (they didnt charge me but wow, what a customer service on Marks part!). When I arrived the paperwork process was quick and both Mark and the other employee Raymond went out of their way to ensure my satisfaction without compromising thoroughness. And hey were genuinely nice to me unlike the worker at the competing truck rental business who answered phone calls while assisting me and told me to circle the block when I tried to park there. At Uhaul there was plenty of parking for the day both in the lot and on surrounding streets. I am now a lifetime customer of Uhaul, especially the Broadway Uhaul, for all my truck rental needs.
