Comment: I have already been treated by other people in this unit, who were super attentive. I was a little uncomfortable with the last guy who served me, as he was super relaxed in his chair, with no apparent desire to serve the customer. He was wearing a glove that made it difficult and took too long to handle his cell phone as he needed to take photos of his ID (for example) and finally, I had doubts about the final value displayed on the computer screen and he did not demonstrate the knowledge to answer my question. Overall, I really like this unit and will continue using the services. I will even have 2 reservations for March. See you soon.

Comment: All good reviews are made up by friends and family of employees. Just look at all the 1 star reviews. Heavy drug addicts. Self righteous and angry managers, daughter/employee and other employees pick and choose who to provide decent service too. Regularly smoking pot and doing in drugs on the job. Not before or after, but during. Slow… so slow. They hope you’ll go somewhere else. Employees constantly complained about u-Haul corporate the whole time. I’m just trying to rent and leave in the damaged truck they provided. And the smell at this place is terrible .

Their trucks are dirty and poorly maintained. This means you would not get a safe, pleasant, or smooth moving experience. The manager here doesnt care to listen. He just ignores complaints. Even if youd have to pay more going with different companies, do it! Its not worth using U-Haul, especially this store. They care more about selling you stuff you dont need than providing you with professional and good service.

Comment: This is the 1st time Ive ever been treated horribly at Merced Uhaul and also the 1st time ever dealing with this employee named ROBERTO! When I arrived this morning I parked in the only handicap spot as Im disabled and as I was walking in the door with my son, ROBERTO rudely whistled and yelled at me so I stepped back out to see what was going on and he told me to move my car. I explained that Im disabled ♿ and pointed to my plates. He still made me move. Then he walked in and had to be the one to help us. He obviously was very lazy and wanted me to download the app to make my own appointment so that he didnt have to do the work. I almost walked out without getting the Uhaul. He needs to be FIRED!!!!

Comment: Worst service i have ever received anywhere. Last week i went in for my hitch installation to be told they would have to reschedule for the following week. They said the job would take 3 hours. I dropped my car off at 7AM to be told they wouldnt start working on it until 10AM because someone called out again. I didnt pick up until 6PM, after having to check in with them at 5:30pm. As in driving home the car alerts me that the turn signals arent working. I go back and they realize they FOTGOT TO PLUG MY LIGHTS IN.

Comment: Save yourself the time and avoid this place when you’re looking to install a hitch. They moved my reservation after being booked in advance. They person who does the hitch called out sick and they didn’t bother to call us to let us know. We were pushed out a week and we were assured by the store manager Eric Jones that they had experience with my vehicle model. I came to my reservation and I was told I would get pushed back another 4 hours. They told me they would take 3 hours and they ended up taking 10 hours because all of a sudden they’ve never worked in a vehicle like mine. Worst experience.

Comment: First day I came to pick up the trailer dolly there was a very nice and knowledgeable lady. She made everything easy and quick. I wish I knew her name to thank her. This morning I’m here trying to return the dolly and the the lady and guy that are here have no idea what’s they have in stock, the young guy can’t seem to do anything. People are just waiting around. I’m honestly never coming here again because of the terrible service I got from these two. 2 people left because the wait is so long. The only reason I’m here waiting for 30 min now is because I need my cash refund. save some time and try another place.Update- they weren’t able to return my cash deposit because they didn’t know how to open the register or safe. This whole place just seems sketchy.

Comment: I have been using the Merced Uhaul for about 10 years now maybe once or twice every year (this year (2021) 3 times so far). I have seen a marked difference. The staff is very professional, respectful, and customer friendly, especially the young ladies that attended me - they seem to be more efficient (quick/business/diligent). Kuddos to the managment - I notice a big difference from 3-4 years ago. My experiences have always been okay, but this year has been a better experience with staff being a little extra helpful and nice and more efficient. I wil be using them more often. Before (3-10 years ago) they use to take too long.

Comment: The worst experience ever!!. I had a reservation to pick up the truck at 8am but they didnt have any truck available. I have no idea why they couldnt check and call in to see if other people returned their car early in the morning. They rescheduled me and told me to drive 45 miles to go pick up the truck by 9am. I got to other uhaul by 9:20 and this location was closed. I called but NO ONE answered the phone. I finally got to talk to someone and told me it opens at 10am. Are you kidding me? Not alone we had to drive 90 miles round trip, I wasted 3 hours in the morning when I could have move early in the morning to avoid 100 degree temperature to move in the after noon. I am so upset that I would report this to the main Uhaul manangement!!! This uhaul is giving me so much stress when I am supposed to be excited to move in to a new place. TERRIBLE! Please have some type of back up plans for the problem in the future if you want to improve.

She let me know there was two other ladies that was going to help me! I walked around the building and there was two young women hard at work hooking up a trailer to a mans truck! After they finished one politely approach me and asked what I needed. I wanted a propane tank and have it filled! She grabbed the tank walked it out to the filling station and filled the tank up! Very professional and courteous treatment by the young lady!

Their website says open til 10 pmI arrived at 5:20 and rang bell for service, after unloading tanks and waiting 10 minutes I went to office and when asked Can I help you I said yes, need propane. The guy working said it will be just a few, the other person working is parking a couple trucks and will be right out. I waited another 10 minutes for someone to show up and was told they cant fill tanks after dark.Waisted 20 minutes and got nothing. Be the last time I go there.

Comment: So bad we booked and paid for a hitch installation in the beginning of April to be performed in early may due to them being very limited staffing. Come to find out this week that they do not have a hitch installer at their site... literally was told this just now. Now, I have to wait for a refund of over $300 and go elsewhere. They were very lazy about the process and it took only for us to notify them we use to work for uhaul for them to look information up. This is why they seem to have new employees every month or so. No one seems to want to think outside the box or help. Dont take money or reservations if there is no one to perform the service.

Comment: This U-haul site is absolutely amazing. My moving situation didnt go as planned and ran longer then expected. They extended it as many times as I needed no questions asked. When it came time to return it I had a family emergency and had to leave town before they opened. The Manager Mike was so helpful and understanding. He arranged to pick up the truck for me at no additional charge. He is amazing and goes above and beyond to accommodate their customers. That site is lucky to have him. Thank you Mike and the rest of the U-haul crew in Merced on MLK.

They have many different size trucks and trailers available so Im sure they will probably have one that will meet your needs as well. After mentioning that I only wanted prices and not a reservation, she explained that she needed all this information to generate prices. After I said to make it up, Im only helping a friend, and that I could understand being denied a rental if my vehicle was determined unable to safely tow a car trailer,, I was placed on hold so she could get the price... another 6-8 minutes and someone else answered the phone. I explained that someone was working on a price for me, this girl went straight to the point and got me a price but explained that some days have different rates....car dolly - $ 44 a daycar trailer - $ 54 a day...Since I was passing the area, 5-10 minutes later I stopped by to see how busy they were. 1 person on his cell at the corner of the showroom, no acknowledgement of my presence. 1 person in garage under a customers vehicle, busy. 1 person in a rental truck, talking to customer somewhat unavailable ... no acknowledgement of my presence.~~~~if you have 20 minutes just to get a price, heres the place to call. Busy..? then dont waste your time..!!

Comment: Easy to reserve a truck. However, we could not get the size we wanted for a local move. The $19 a day enclosed truck can not be rented locally, only for out of town rentals. We did not need a 15 foot truck and a pickup or van was not large enough. We did rent a 15 foot $29 a day truck because we did have to move some items and it seemed to be our only option. The trucks handle well. They have a dolly and packing blankets inside the back that you can choose to rent by cutting the plastic ties if you need those items. The dolly is very small though. The two items can be rented separate or you can get a discount by renting the dolly and six packing blankets while you have the truck.

The truck was ready and had all the stuff in it we needed, and he even quickly replaced a light on our tow dolly to keep us safe from paying for damage or tickets from cops. Great store, great employees, very clean and exceptionally well stocked with boxes and moving supplies. Ive never seen a U-Haul store run this well in Kansas City where were​ from. Thanks Mike!
