Comment: These guys are amazing and put customer satisfaction as a primary. I had installed a hitch at another uhaul which I was not at all happy with their communication and quality of work. Brendan at this store spent a lot of time correcting and fixing my issues and is absolutely amazing. I would give them 10 stars if I could.I have always had great experience at this Uhaul because of the team there and managment for moving, rental, getting boxes. Im lucky that Im close to this location. keep it up guys....

Comment: We were charged 2 gallons under what we were told to fill up. The trailer tires were low and one was damaged. For our safety we had to take it to another facility to have it switched to a safe trailer. The truck kept pulling to the right the entire trip. Also the engine would automatically Rev higher on a flat highway and cost us extra fuel. Plus we were going to be charged an extra $25.00 to unstrap and unload our vehicle from your trailer. We were not charged that when we had to get another trailer originally when we saw the tires were very low and unchecked.

Comment: The Uhaul pickup centre was understaffed, there was just one person taking care of everyone, checking the returned vehicles etc. The system was down, so the person was doing everything on their phone. She had some old phone on which the touchscreen wasnt working, so she took 30min just to get our reservation up. Uhaul - please provide your employees phones in cases like these. She was also not very well versed with technology/uhaul website, and didnt know what to click on.I had reserved a dolly - the centre was out of dollies, why wasnt it updated online? I wasted more than 1 hour at this location for pickup.

Comment: Honestly had a great experience, staff was very friendly, truck was clean, I folded the moving blankets and swept the truck which seemed to make the staff member receiving it very happy, which I really appreciated, I’ve had the “cold shoulder” experience at other San Jose U-haul locations, but my past two experiences here have been great, it’s worth the few extra minutes of driving to rent a u haul here ( I live in downtown San Jose) keepUp the great work!

Comment: Brandon, the owner/ manager was very friendly and he patiently answered my questions.There was a smoke smell inside the store, upon entry. It was very irritating and off putting.Train your employees to be more attentive and bit polite when dealing with the customers.I also saw one of the employee popping a cigarette near the propane filling section. This is common sense safety training that needs to be reinforced.Again, Cleaning up and installing a perfume in the customer kiosks areas is must do task to improve the overall experience.

Comment: Needs a better mobile pick up instructions.When picking up your reserved truck during off-hours, the truck may be blocked in by other trucks, if that is the case DO NOT click on “I have found my truck” button, must click “I can’t find my truck” to get another truck. Once you click on “I have found my truck” there is no way back to the last page to get another truck. Or wait at least 30min on the 1-800 number til you get a customer service rep to try to get you another truck.Workers at this Milpitas location who were there before opening time cannot help due to “not clocked in” and will yell and cuss at you for asking for help.

Again I had to visit the store next morning just to make sure that the van is marked as returned in U-Haul system. Will think twice before renting U-Haul specially from this location.

Comment: Go to any other UHaul in the area. This place is unprofessional and ended up leaving me stranded on my moving day. I scheduled a 6am pick-up, arrived on time, went through the verification process for contactless pick-up (required given the early pick-up), only to find out that the key was locked away without a code provided. The online chat agent referred me to an online UHaul general help customer service number. The UHaul customer service line advertises 24/7 customer support, the line had a 110 minute wait time at 7am on a Sunday. More false promises and advertising follows. After 1hr on the help line someone finally got back to me and guessed the lock box combination. I Ubered to the location so I would not have to leave my vehicle at UHaul. I was stranded at the UHaul location from 610-745am. Horribly disappointed with UHaul.

I picked up a Uhaul this morning and now I am waiting...still waiting for roadside assistance for 3+ hours now because the 2nd rear tire was bald and shredded on my trip to my location. Not only that but the exhaust on this truck is damaged which they should have checked.This truck is beyond an accident waiting to happen. Rent elsewhere!

Returned amd they made us pay for the tirea that has been worn out before. Shady business.. the rent only cost $600 but they bump up to $1300 for two weeks and three hundred miles drive. They also blamed that there was no spare tires when in fact there was non when we picked up. Very shady place. Becareful.

Here is my story because I didnt look into other peoples reviews:I reserved my car in advance with moving help and other things. When I was in the path to take my car (pretty much 1 min to the U-haul), I received a call that my reservation was cancelled. I was not sure it is a real call and I jumped into the U-Haul. The manager (Dave Daniels) and the other guy said your reservation has been cancelled because you are late. They said we cant wait for you and your reservation may be cancelled 45 mins after the time. I told them Im here and they said we cant do anything.Their customer service sucks and it messed up all my planning for move out. What I think is that they look at your reservation and if they dont like your name, they would give that reservation to their dudes.

Comment: These guys did a great job of taking care of us during our last rental. There was predictably a large lineup of people first thing in the morning, but the team worked quickly and efficiently to check people in, answer their questions and get them on the road. I left 1 star off because of the condition of the truck we received. The check oil light was on when I received it, and there was noise coming from the steering when it was turned to its extreme in either direction. Note, that it drove fine and I never felt unsafe, but Uhaul should support its outlets in running regular checks of the vehicles, so simple things like this can be found and addressed.

Comment: I had a situation today - when while returning the truck to the location, I forgot to put back the furniture pads i.e. I forgot them at my house while unloading the stuff. Typically this is charged. I explained the situation to David and I was expecting a lot of trouble. I had to get to office so I did not have the time to go back and the pads immediately.But David was so understanding. He immediately told me this is not a problem and I could get those by the evening and return them. This is amazing courtesy and customer service to me. He could have made it really difficult for me - because I did make a mistake. Instead he made my day. David - thank you so much for understanding and making my day!

I have seen such a decline in customer service in todays society... thank you u-haul on Capitol expressway in San Jose for hanging up on me... I went from the worst customer service experience to the best in a matter of minutes.. I have saved Oakland Road U-Haul San Jose as my favorite in my phone now... thanks Chris you rock👍😀💝

Comment: Wow these guys were wonderful. Ive used U-Haul many times before, but never at this location. Their customer service was truly exceptional. I needed a truck and flatbed trailer to tow a vehicle, and they quickly helped me hitch the trailer, pull my vehicle up and had me ready to go - I very much appreciated their expertise and friendly service!

Comment: I needed a car hitch for my bike rack. Their price was the best. Sal was the best. He helped assure it worked fine and got me a lock for it too. The guy at the desk was very accommodating and even went get me a chair to sit in while I waited. I have always had a great experience with UHaul. One of the best and most reliable companies in America. I dont know what Id do without them.
