Comment: I would like to leave a review specifically for Indya Gibson! I had a rough start with getting the U-Haul I had booked on a Monday for saturday. The Friday before my reservation I was called and informed the size I wanted wasn’t available I would have to go pick it up from a different city. I was upset and frustrated. Once I arrived to the Vallejo location Indya did everything she could to accommodate me. She had a lot of patience and a positive attitude. I could tell she really tries her best to make sure the customers are satisfied. U-haul is lucky to have her as an employee. I hope she gets recognition and credit after this review is posted! Thank you again Indya for amazing and above & beyond service.

Comment: Had a good experience here. I checked in online myself to save time then was able to get my keys from the front. There was a mix up wih the accessories I ordered but the woman at the counter was able to refund me and charge me out for the item I needed right then and there. When I returned luckily someone was already outside. They checked the puck up truck over and gave me my final total and I was done! Thanks to everyone there!I also want to point out other customers they were helping seemed happy as well. Good atmosphere and experience :)

Comment: First time renting at uhaul. I booked reservations online for an auto towing vehicle trailer for 3 days. I came on a Friday evening, process was smooth and had no problems. Andy was helpful to attach the trailer to my SUV. Tamia was the lady working front desk and she knows how to run the business. I came back today to return the trailer and it was simple. The trailer ran fine during the trip, it was all a breeze. I’d come back here to rent for future references

Everything went smoothly and Calvin even took the time to compare in-town and one-way rental prices for us. I would definitely recommend them if youre in need of a uhaul rental. They usually have a good selection of trucks compared to nearby uhaul locations.

The manager Calvin is always a joy to work with and the nice woman Precious was that was indeed Precious! The guy Rob that installed my hitch was so professional and pleasant as well. I have never had an unpleasant experience in the 20 years with this local company. Im sorry for others that have not. Maybe they were simply having a bad day.

Comment: I have been going through a nightmarish move—moving from Vallejo back to Chico—trust that part without details… however, in every dealing with Uhaul, whether they had to repeatedly call me about my appointment rental, they were Real, but understanding and patient. The girl who called me on the phone, to the man who helped me at desk when I arrived (he listened as a prepaid mover screamed at me not wanting to give her last name—misunderstanding I only needed it for a 2nd phone contact!—to the best of all:Arthur. He was the attendant who retrieved my new rental truck and brought me my keys. He overheard the phone altercation from these people I was trying desperately to deal with outside after losing my place in line to pay. He gave very kindly advice and was so calm and sweet. He was comforting to me at a time I felt totally alone with sides crashing in, moving to a new place, no furniture or bed to sleep on, just trying to get some people to follow through on their promises—and their payment is already given them (never pay people in advance!)He gave me great pointers but most importantly just stood with me helping me to feel some sense of peace and trust in “everything is gonna be okay”. He did that for me.Arthur, if I could’ve kissed and hugged you, I would’ve! I swear this Arthur was the kindest, most attentive, polite, knowledgeable understanding—but still smiling and upbeat—person I’ve ever had the pleasure to know; albeit briefly.If I were the owner of Uhaul I’d give him a HUGE RAISE AND MAKE THIS MAN—gentleman that is—in charge! I didn’t know Uhaul sent angels from heaven…but apparently they do. Thank you! Thank you! Terese

Charles was the representative when i was there and he was working his tail off and honestly deserves a raise for the amount of work he does. Comment: I had a rental truck that I extended and for some odd reason they decided to to the truck with my stuff in the truck. My rental wasnt due for another 2 hours. Its hard to get in contact with someone there over the phone so I sent messages and live chat and finally spoke to Courtney over there who knew nothing about the tow or it being towed by their store which is weird and now Im almost starting to think that they are trying to cheat me so I will pay for the tow, cleaning fees, etc etc etc fees. This is total b×\/;$h_+.I feel so disgusted and violated with what they just did. This is wrong. And to do something like this when everyone is already struggling with everyrhing going on let alone homeless they had to do this to me and my family. This terrible of Uhaul.

Comment: Fair prices for rental van but watch out for billing practices. The office staff double billed my bank card and then blamed my bank for the error. Thing is I was billed the day of the rental for using the van and then billed again 5 days later for the rental deposit based on my estimated use of the van. Of course u-haul says my bank is at fault even though the billed my card again 5 days after I paid their bill!!

I called them and informed them I dropped it off at the drop of location by the appropriate time and asked them to make a note of the drop of time as the owner of the drop of location didn’t really know what to do. Debra Cyrus checked me in and May have been the one I talked to on the phone. She just said, well we don’t show it as checked in so you may be charged for it for another day. Really?! I dropped it off, you guys need to check it in or insure the drop off location checks it in. Then she told me that I am the one that needs to make sure they check it in. Really?! Why do I need to make sure their contractor does their job?! Their contractor is responsible for insuring the vehicle is checked in NOT me. I gave them the courtesy of calling them and letting them know I dropped it off!!! Never renting another truck from U-Hual AGAIN. Penske Truck rental charges more BUT at least they care about their customers and have some common sense and don’t leave you with a headache!

Tilt steering was loose, not locking in place firmly.In a pinch, access to an affordable, beater truck on demand is worth the shortcomings of the rental experience.

Comment: Always seem to have vehicles available even if no reservation. Can buy insurance for rental right there. Vehicles use regular gas. Daily rates are cheap but does also cost $1 per mile driven so only using local location is affordable. Easy to drive vehicles but interiors are very basic model like some dont have cruise control nor CD player, just radio & air conditioner.

Comment: Moving from IL to CA was a nightmare because of this U-Haul location. We made the mistake of trying their new U-Box service instead of renting a traditional truck. The staff at the store in IL we rented the U-Boxes from was very helpful and courteous, and we paid the rental charge in full there. A week later when we went to Vallejo to unload the U-Boxes, we were told we owed an additional $1000. We could only pay half of it that day and were allowed to unload one U-Box. While there we noticed the forklift they use to move these U-Boxes had punched through the side of our other box. We paid the other $500 later over the phone and when we came back to unload the other box, they first couldnt figure out how to pull up our record on the computer, then ignored us for several minutes before finally telling us we still owed $217. Then it took them 20 minutes to figure out how to work their computer system so we could pay them more money we didnt owe them. After that we waited another 20 minutes for their clearly inept forklift driver to get our other box, and he left it a good 10 feet from where he saw we were parked. Thanks dude. Their parking lot is a mess because they haphazardly leave trucks and U-Boxes everywhere, and I scraped my vehicle trying to move it closer to where hed left the U-Box. And upon unpacking that box we discovered that as suspected, several items were damaged because of the mishandled forklift.Bottom line: Completely unprofessional and a total ripoff.

He was helping a guy with a truck. He said he will be right with me as soon as he give the truck a check up or something like that i cant remember exactly. So I decided to let my daughter and her friend go to the restroom and there was another guy inside. He acknowledge us and asked how can he help. I asked for the restroom. Oh of course no problem...I didnt need a truck yesterday but when I do I know where to go. Thanks guys.
