Comment: Our experience was the best and easiest car buying experience in 30 years. This was our first accessible van purchase for our wheelchair bound son. We went to several different companies and United Access sales rep Ken Jarvis was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and straight to the point. He put us in a van that met our sons needs and actually looks great as well. The price was right and the process from start to finish was a breeze. Would highly recommend based on our individual experience.

Comment: I had the worst customer service experience with the mobility specialist at Ability Center yesterday. He was rude, condescending and not remotely helpful. I couldnt help but think that if I was a man, he wouldnt talk to me that way. I called their competitor next and had a wonderful experience. Everything the guy at Ability Center told me he couldnt do for me and my car, his competitor was able to do. I would not recommend this company especially if quality customer service is important to you.

Comment: We had a wow experience in the process of exploring and getting a new used special-needs vehicle for our son, Shad! Ken, was exceptional, knowledgeable,. friendly and not pushy. The van was further customized to accommodate our sons wheelchair--the crew in the shop really listened to us and made the slight adjustments exactly as we desired. This is a great place to due business with. Ken, again was exceptional in helping us have all the paperwork completed on time and without any mistakes. Every facet of our experience in getting a new van was truly exceptional!

Comment: We were in the market for a mobility vehicle to ease transportation for our daughter who is in a wheelchair. We looked at a number of companies to purchase a mobility van. All roads led to the Ability Center and the Braunability vehicle modification program. We made an appointment and met with Ken Jarvis. He took time to understand our requirements and our daughter’s specific needs. He explained the vehicle options available to us. He worked with other Ability Centers across the country to identify the most suitable vehicles available for sale. Given the supply chain challenges, we knew it might take some time, but Ken assured us he would find inventory. An added issue for us at the time - we had been in a rollover car accident which totaled our previous vehicle. We were in desperate immediate need of a safe vehicle well suited for transporting our daughter. Ken and the Ability Center totally came through for us. We have a beautiful new 2022 Toyota Sienna van, in our daughter’s favorite color (red!). Ken worked diligently to find the vehicle with all the bells and whistles we requested and in record time. He is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, straightforward, no nonsense and experienced. We could not have asked for a better partner to help us navigate this journey. If you are ready to purchase a vehicle or just starting your research, go no further than the Ability Center and Ken Jarvis. We could not be happier.

Comment: I met with Ken to talk about a scooter and lift for my Ridgeline. Went in with a lot of questions about what equipment is right for me. Ken answered all of my questions and really made sure we were picking out the right options. I learned a lot and felt Ken was really looking out for me. There was no pressure to pick a certain model or item. Ken even went out to measure my truck just in case the website Was wrong about the lift I really wanted. I have no doubt this is the place to use for any mobility products. My wife and I are still talking about when to buy but there is no doubt we will be buying here.

If you do call them first, it will save you a lot of time and you wont need to make a second call. Ask for Ken, He is a top notch person. he will listen and then try to match your needs to the Equipment they have. for me It was stress FREE working with Ken and the staff. Comment: Nathan and his staff are the best. From the time you walk in the door, you feel like you are in good hands. Everyone is friendly and Nathan goes the extra mile to make sure you have the best solution for your safety and mobility. We have been there 3 times over the past 2 years for my brother-in-laws power wheelchair and lift. Earlier, Nathan and his guys spotted a problem with the lift that could have been a disaster. Nathan arranged for a loaner lift and took care of the request for a new lift through the VA. My husband and I highly recommend this business and everyone that works there.

I was going to come back later to pick up the van but my plans changed. The next day I got a call and was offered a credit for any later time. Thats so nice and I didnt expect any refund because it was totally my fault. I would always come back her.

Comment: I’m from out of town and had shipped my van and wheelchair here for the months I’m in SD. Because the van is adapted and rides low, Ive damaged the side door on curbs. The place I took it to in my home city said it wasn’t fixable without costing more than I wanted to spend and they advised I close it manually, which I have done with extra effort for me. I asked the Ability Center to fix it when it became impossible for me to close and they fixed it within an hour for a very reasonable charge. I am so impressed and happy with all of the service they have provided.

Comment: About a year and a half ago, I was contracted through the Department of Rehabilitation to get my Mazda5 modified with a lift and hand controls. Working with Keith Miller and his team has been such a blessing. Whenever I need a quick fix theyre always on top of it. For example, yesterday there was a missing bolt on my lift and I was able to get Jerry to fix it in 5 minutes. They always treat you like family and make sure that all of your needs are met. Theyre also really great at connecting you to other resources that you may need. I have been to many other places to get my car equipped, and by far, Ability Center is my favorite. I never have to worry about whether things will get done, and their professionalism is top notch. As a person with a disability who has dealt with many vendors and rehab centers, I would highly recommend Ability Center in San Diego!
