The staff at Uptown Canton location is so unprofessional and not helpful at all. When I received my keys to my brand new apartment, I was told it was move in ready. Turns out it was nowhere ready. These are only some of the issues I experienced within the first month of moving in:AC Unit broken and not working for almost a month.Ceiling vents falling down unexpectedly.Water valves broken for washing machine.Bathroom doors not being able to close since the door couldnt fix the door frame.Locks for bedroom/bathrooms did not work. (Doors were not installed properly)Sink water lines were not connected causing a major leak in the kitchen.I tried calling the front desk multiple times and was promised a call back but that never happened. I called maintenance for weeks and was promised someone would come help us, yet no one did. I took approx one week off work to stay at home to make sure this work would get done and open the door for the workers, yet no one came. Despite me having to go wash my clothes at a laundromat and sleeping at a friends house, I was still charged the full amount and denied getting any form of compensation. On top of all that, I had two guys from maintenance come into our apartment with no permission while we were sleeping. When I asked why they were there, they said they needed to fix our dish washer. ( My washer wasnt even broken nor did I put in any work orders for such thing). All they said was opps we think we got the wrong apartment then...this just put the cherry on top for all the issues I experienced living here for my first 60 days. I have emailed the manager of the apartments on 6/29 and still have not received any sort of comment on any of this.I will be contacting my attorney and Beztak upper management. This is pure neglect of their customers!
Horrible management! Its impossible to get hold of them! I have put my deposit down, but cancelled the application the very next day due to job relocation. Its been 2 weeks now, my refund wasn’t initiated yet. I have emailed several times. After trying many many times, when I was able to reach the leasing office, I was put on hold forever and then got disconnected! Justin, and Kody are horrible leasing agents! Justin seemed total clueless, and didnt bother at all to help. Also, they will lie about apartment availability dates. Horrible experience! When I first saw the property online, I was impressed. But the management is horrible, I wouldn’t recommend at all! The management team should be changed asap!
I will have to add to these reviews with my own, we just moved in 2 weeks ago and are already having a horrendous experience. AC has been weak since move in and is now completely broken. Was told on Tuesday that a maintenance request would be put in and that ended up being a lie. We went to the office again today to follow up and was told that a request for maintenance would be put in, however, when we called the actual maintenance line to check on when maintenance would actually show up, they told us that a ticket had never been created. So again, a lie or a failure to act which is just as bad. So for the past two weeks or so the AC has never brought the interior temp down below about 75 degrees and it is currently 85 degrees in our 1500$ a month apartment. That aside, our balcony on the third floor looks as if it hasnt been looked at or fixed since it was built in the early 2000s. The wood is breaking, boards are coming out of the support beams and rusty nails are sticking up out of various pieces of wood. Unsafe for use essentially. I also reported this on Tuesday, apparently that also was not acted upon.To top it all off, our parking spot which we are paying extra for has been taken up by another resident who is double parking and this also has not been addressed as far as I know. I sent a picture of the spot and the car and received no follow up on this. Before move in, the communication was also very poor. It took quite some time for us to find out if we were approved and getting questions answered was a chore, especially as we moved from out of state. For how much money we are paying and the way that they brag about professionalism as a company, I expected much, much better. I cant say that I recommend Uptown as it is right now with the exception of the location because honestly, its been a very terrible experience so far. I sincerely hope that things change but as of now, I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed. I will follow up if anything changes.
Worst apartment I have ever been and seen! There is a separate extension number for the maintenance calls in their office which they never answer. Even if someone answers and create a work order, the maintenance people never shows up. This not only happened once, this happened 4 times until now. I saw this type of reviews before I rent an apartment here but I did not care which I should have. Now I regret and just waiting for the lease to over.
Cant imagine having a worse renting experience. Ive had holes in my ceiling with water leaking out of pipes into our kitchen for 20 days now. We came home to a pool of water one night in our kitchen. We called emergency maintenance and they came out and gave us a bucket. Nobody came back for well over a week. Our situation has been disregarded and unprioritized since day one. People would be scheduled to come fix it and would never show up. Theyve been promising us for a week now that today would be the day. The plumber arrived (and none of this is the plumber fault, its 100% the leasing apartments fault) and of course couldnt do what he needed to do. We have no date of his return, just called the leasing office and nobody answered. This has been one very large problem out of many other problems weve dealt with and weve only been here for two months. We had no air in the apartment for the first two weeks because nobody would come and put freeon in the unit. We still have no mailbox, just simply dont have one. The mailman just leaves our mail in front of the door. We pay almost $1500/month to live here and I put off leaving a review in hopes that somehow the issue would fix itself, but it hasnt. So disappointing.
This place is not a scam, but it sure felt like it. I lived here for 2 yrs and Im glad I got out. The location is nice and quiet being out in the countryside, but if you need some noise to help you sleep at night, the paper thin walls will allow the baby next door to sing you the song of its people. A few shops and entertainment close by, but overall far removed from the hustle and bustle. Read the contract well before you sign because any slip up and youll pay dearly. The office has friendly, passive aggressive staff that will sign for your packages, but wont notify you that they arrived. You can enjoy the fun games in the clubhouse as long as the elusive staff is there. The apartments themselves look impressive at first glance, but will be sure to charm you with their shoddy, slapdash build quality. The cheap appliances only break sometimes, but are easy to clean and replace on your own dime. The doors dont fit based on the season, so youll have a year-round relationship with the maintenance team. With all the problems, youll be wondering where all your money is going, but dont worry, the property company sets a fair rental price based on the oligopoly that its a part of. If youre thinking of moving out, be aware that theyre only legally liable by the contract to send you a renewal letter on the same day you need to give notice to vacate. Either take the short notice penalty or pay hotel rates (no room service) for extra days to move out. Hope you werent expecting to get your deposit back.
Was set to move in last saturday was told we were approved a month prior with a welcome letter and approval. Took our deposit to hold the apartment then deposit to move in. Day of move in we were told our lease papers were not written yet and they needed to get a hold of the manager. We went and seen our apartment which was new construction, the apartment we were given was not even finished yet or cleaned. They had other new construction apartments that were finished but put us in that one. when we went back to the office they pulled a credit report again and told us that we were denied. Denied on the day of the move in when we were already given an approval a month prior. We already turned in our key from our last apartment so they left us out on the streets during a pandemic. They told us there is nothing they can do. You don’t need to pull another credit report the day of the move in to write up lease papers. I find this very appropriate to post here so this does not happen to anyone else. The apartments seem nice but management is horrible and have no consideration for people at all. Learn how to properly function your business. It is not ok to pack everything you own then the day of move in all of a sudden you are denied. I also called to speak to someone higher up in the company and they just send people within the canton office. I really hope the people that own this company know what’s going on.
This property appears to care more about the superficial external appearance of the community and lacks terribly in customer service, management and competence, especially when it comes to service requests. Management seems to be completely careless, indifferent and dissociated from the uncomfortable experiences of their tenants that would warrant being addressed in a more timely fashion.Every time I have had a service request ( and Ive had multiple since the appliances seem to be poorly maintained inside), I have had to call and speak to multiple people over the course of days (even months one time for a broken fridge), and call corporate office before my service requests received any attention.Recently, its been 3 days now since Ive called in a service request for the malfunctioning AC and placed one in on their website. Its been 82 degrees inside my apartment and very uncomfortable. Ive talked to both management and the service department and both said it will not beaddressed in a timely manner unless the temperature reaches 85 degrees outside. To be fair, Justin appears to be the only one who gives a care at that leasing office, based on my experience, and had asked me to contact him directly whenever Ive had an ignored service request. However, I was told he was out of the office this week.
I have notified this company that my HVAC system does not work 20 days ago. They have ignored my request. They have not provide any feedback or concern for basic comfort needs. When you go into the office the staff is dismissive and rude. I moved in over 90 days ago. Even the items I recorded on my move in inspection sheet have been ignored. This local management team has zero customer service skills or care about the residences to any degree. Please spend your hard earned housing dollars at a reputable complex, pass this one by.
The leasing manager at this complex took us on a tour of the apartment and we loved it. She told us there was a $60 application fee per person. She failed to tell us that there was a $500 deposit due at the time of application. Once we got to that point in the application, we called and asked if the deposit was refubdable and we were told it was, and thats it. When we got the lease a week later, they wanted an additional $2200. This also was not explained to us. They originally told us about a $350 pet deposit but the lease had the $350 deposit and an additional $200 pet deposit. When we asked for our money because no on was communicating with us properly, they told us the refund was only refundable after 48 hours. The refund policy should have been explained when we asked about it and now we are out of $500.
The kind professionalism shown to me by Evan was superb! I am grateful to be a resident at Uptown and my experience here has always been great. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and they care about the concerns of the residents. I am blessed to be a resident here!
Had mold and mildew in my ac unit for 2 months and was ignored. Had to call a third party to get help and they refuse to reimburse me because i made a choice to go third party. Yeah. I waited for 2 months for you to help me. God forbid I get someone else to help so i dont become Ill from breathing in mold when yall refuse to do your jobs. I understand if I went third party right off the bat but its unreasonable to force someone to wait for you to decide to do your job. If they had found nothing in my vents, Id be happy to pay the bill. But the fact remains that i had been breathing in mold and yall were sitting there ignoring me. Should I have kept waiting until I got sick?
Management seems very unprofessional and unreliable. I’ve always seen reviews of companies with bad application processes, but never experienced it first hand. They would completely lie in my face, and not get back with me. Took me weeks to even get an ask for more documents, and even then I’d have to contact them to get any updates.Eventually things were cleared up, but still left a very bad first impression. Hoping the communication get better during my lease.
Been here 2 months, like the apartment and the people. But no amenities open. Sorry I forgot they did open the pool. But that doesnt help when youre ac doesnt work. This weather has been coming for over a week. I turned my air on Tuesday and its been running for 4 days and it hasnt got below 74 degrees. We have had to open up our windows and put box fans in them at night just to be able to sleep. They knew that this heat wave was coming.
They are acting very poorly in handling maintenance requests. Maintenance crew usually do a good job once they come, but it takes more than 48 hours to take care of the requests.Update: After three weeks and calling the office multiple times (they answer the phone half of the time!), I am still waiting for the service.
Ive been living here going on 6 months and it hasnt been bad. Initially it was hard to get a hold of someone in the office. I believe that they are extremely short staffed for a property this big. Also, I can hear my neighbors below me , if its not a cough, its kids yelling and jumping. Other than that, Its a nice community and well taken care of.
Terrible landscaping schedule. It is more than once per week. Sometimes even on Saturday. The noise is terrible. The working process is very slow and inefficient. Its like the office is scammed by the landscaping company, if you watch the law mower, they trimmed nothing but just wondering around the street. The landscape does not appears better afterwards.
We highly recommend making Uptown your new home!! The apartments are beautiful. When we moved in, everything was like new. Maintenance has been incredibly professional, timely, and friendly. I think the best part for us has been how willing the leasing office staff has been to help with anything we have needed. We went out of town for a few days and were nervous our little kitty had snuck behind a door we had closed before leaving. In a panic, we reached out to the office and they were in our apartment faster than either of us expected. They let our cat out and were quick to update us to let us know he was ok. Thanks to them our kitty didnt go long at all without food/water. This instance as well as all of our other interactions have assured us that the primary goal of the staff is to make Uptown the best place to live.We honestly could not imagine a better home. Thank you!
Ive been living here for a little over a year now and I love the location. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of Ford rd. but close enough to not feed to secluded. I havent had an issue with the maintenance, they are very responsive and quick to address any work orders. The lawn/winter maintenance is very consistent and reliable as well. These apartments being dog friendly is such a game changer - right next to the dog park and CLEAN NEIGHBORHOOD considering how many dogs are living in here. The pool area is amazing and so nice, bbqs, beautiful clubhouse. So happy to have found these apartments.
I have been living here for 4 months now and so far have basically no complaints. Management is very helpful, especially Stacy. She worked to help us find the right apartment, and has been very accommodating since we moved in. The maintenance staff is also incredibly friendly and prompt with requests. Weve had only a few minor issues and they have always taken care of the problem within hours of our request. As for the apartments themselves, they are really nice. All the appliances are fairly new and in great condition, and we especially love our fireplace and huge balcony! The apartments are quiet, the fitness center is convenient, and there is a farmers market within walking distance. I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone :)
I have lived in this complex for 5 years and and am extremely happy with the community. The maintenance staff are dedicated, professional, friendly and prompt. The leasing staff is always professional and extremely helpful. The community is very quiet at night and I also feel very safe here as well. It is in a wonderful location close to great schools, shopping, and major highways. There are always great activities for both adults and kids going on at the clubhouse. The buildings and grounds are beautifully maintained.
Ive stayed here for close to 3 years now and its a great place to live! The clubhouse staff (Tom, Bridget, Tiffany, Jeff) are always courteous and full of energy. Its always a great time at Uptown! Theyre very friendly to residents and prospective residents alike. The maintenance and cleaning staff (Eric, Greg, Gretta) are responsive and knowledgeable--they always leave you assured that the problem will be fixed and they are very thorough in their work. Highly recommend living here if youre looking for an apartment.
Never rent from these audacious, unprofessional people. They never contacted my son to tell him his unit would not be available on time. Never apologized, lied and were obstructive about getting his deposit refunded. They do not deserve to be in business. Horrific experience. Shame on them.
I have enjoyed living at the Uptown for 3 years. Very spacious, luxury condo-style apartment living with open floor plans... What a great community and you will be sure to find your new home at the Uptown Apartments. Balconies are large as decks. The staff is always professional-helpful and maintenance is fantastic. The community is quiet and grounds are kept very clean. Pool and clubhouse are my favorite!!! Great school district K-12.
I leased one of the newly built one bedroom apartments in this lovely community for the last 15 months. I must say that I really enjoyed coming back home everyday, the community is safe, well maintained and the apartments by themselves are lovely. I wouldn’t say I didn’t have any issues in my apartment, but each time there was an issue, it was promptly fixed by one of the knowledgeable maintenance crew members. The best part about the living experience was the management, especially the property manager, Bridget. Bridget ensures the residents are well taken care of and all their needs are addressed in a prompt and timely manner.Unlike other comparable apartment communities, Uptown Canton has resident gathering events very often - it ranges from Pizza parties to fitness related events that are open to all residents. The apartments offlate have become a bit pricey but the living experience is definitely worth it. I would recommend this community to all individuals.
What can I say...For starters, if youre looking for a safe place to live in the Canton area, move here.Ive been a tenant now for over 1 year and I cannot say enough nice things about the management and the way things are handled within our community. Bridgette, Stacy, and Jeff have been a tremendous help throughout our stay at Uptown here. The list of great things I could say about management goes on and on, but Ive been really impressed with the way things are run. Great community, great people, safe area, and great staff.
This is the best apartment community that I have ever lived in. The staff is very accommodating, kind, and full of life! The 2 pools are amazing with a splash park for my little one! They have an outdoor grilling area w/ a fireplace and a spacious dog park for your convenience! I recommend this apartment to any and all who want comfortable living in a quiet neighborhood!
I lived here for 4 years. Leaking windows never got fixed, cracks in ceiling etc. Place was safe and quiet, which I liked. Upon leaving this May, my safety deposit and cat deposit was used up for things like carpet padding, and replacing baseboards??? Go figure. No paint charge??? Cheap windows carpet and cupboards. Like else where in Canton, same issue. My Account is gone, but one letter mailed to me I do not agree with and am disputing moving out charges!!!
Uptown is a very nice place to live. I love that my roommate and I get our own connected garages in a beautiful new building. The appliances are all nice and new and never have any issues. Sure, its a little expensive. But, Im willing to pay a little more for what they have to offer. Also their staff knows me by first name...and seemingly most other residents too, that;s just a nice touch that shows me they actually care.
One of the worst management I have ever encountered. Be aware before applying their process takes forever. I applied on oct 9th and never heard back from them until yesterday. After making so many phone calls and sent several emails to find out my application is still pending. And few days ago, I found out they need more paystubs. Still I submitted all of them again along with my bank statement. I was told one of the leasing agent would call me shortly. Still they never bothered to call me back. I called again next day and still leasing agent wasnt available for another two days.I was informed my application was denied after I called them many times. All I can say those leading agents need to more responsible. The weird thing is Im renting in a different town from the same company and they have all my info which I dont understand the difference between two building with one company. Now that my application was denied why are they holding my money? Why take my money from day one and keep it? And now I have to wait another two weeks or more to refund me my money.be aware before applying dont be fooled they are the worst and zero professionalism
The people are nice enough but like the other reviewers, I had a hard time getting calls back. I applied on November 11th and today is December 8th. They find out the results of your checks within 24 hours of your application. However, you have to call them to get updates on your application. I think many can agree that a rental application sitting there for a month is a bit excessive. UPDATE: December 9th, i received a reply from the complex and received a refund promptly. Overall, the team is nice but you do have to be aggressive in following up.
Do not expect professional or responsive treatment. Took my deposit and will not return my calls for a week or even tell me if Ive been approved for the apartment Im supposed to move into in 3 days. Routinely lied to and promised calls back that afternoon or before the end of the day that never happen.
The Uptown apartments are quite nice and we had rented a unit that had a single car garage. We enjoyed the facilities and everything was well maintained. Even though when this community was first planned it was touted that it was going to be a stand alone community it has never become that. Its hard to get local pizza service or a party store here even though you have hundreds of customers. We liked living here with the major exception of the price. It was higher than surrounding apt comlexes but getting hit with ten percent increases two years in a row. There was no way we stay for any length of time. Found better and cheaper facilities and happier.
Dont rent here this place is terrible and should be called Uptown hood apartments instead of luxury apartments. I have been trying to get my door replaced for over a year and they replaced it finally but with a door that was to small so cold air is blowing in and the property manager wont even respond. My door isnt wide enough and isnt secure
Uptown Apartments are a great place to live, plain and simple. Its situated right outside of Cantons bustling epicenter so your not surrounded by traffic. But its close enough so you can take a three minute drive to the grocery store. It definitely DOES NOT look like the typical apartment warehousing that is so common in other places. Its colorful, trendy, and the place looks like it was built yesterday! And the icing on the cake is that the office staff is super sweet too.
UPDATE.... still terrible here. The owners should be embarrassed or angry with the quality of these apartments. I haven’t ran into one person here without an issue, including: doors not closing, deadbolts not aligning, hvac fans obnoxiously loud and garage doors not closing. My friend also lives here and experienced a problem with the maintenance crew watching tv in his apartment when they were supposed to be fixing something. Oh and don’t forget about the pool and fitness center not being locked!! Any random person can come swim and hang out with the paying residents. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE CREW.Just moved in. The bathroom door will not close, the freezer has a crack in it, the ceiling in the bathroom was not dry walled properly, the molding on the balcony is pathetic. I have been here for a week and they have not even attempted to contact me to fix any problem I reported to them. Terrible customer service. My girlfriend does not even want to live here because she cant close the door to go to the bathroom. THE SECOND MY LEASE IS DONE I AM MOVING OUT. To top it all off every street in this complex has parking in front of each unit BESIDE MINE! Both sides of the street are fire lanes.... so there are not enough parking spots. Zero stars.....
We moved into Uptown this past summer and although its only been a short period of time, I must say that I am very impressed with the office staff. They went above and beyond providing excellent customer service when I was making my decision to move into this community. I must say, that without regret, I am thankful for their support. And oh yeah, I am also loving my unit, that was carefully and personally selected for me, by the staff! :-)
Dont get me wrong, the complex looks nice, some amenities are remarkable, its their management that its hideous and the quality of the actual apartment. Careless maintenance, dull communication, undue handling of basic accounting and unexpected bad due diligence, thats Uptown in Canton, aka Beztak. They have a team of really unprofessional staff, nobody knows anything, whenever you go, you have to chase the rather rude property manager to get real, but still, little help. They send eviction notices when their own system makes the wrong payments, and its your fault and you are to suffer.About the apartment. Yes, it has nice finishes, nice appliances, looks new compared to almost all other apartments in Old Metro Detroit, but as most with new buildings, they are now made of carton board. You will hear every single noise any neighbor around makes: when they are making love, their babies crying nonstop, their steps to the restroom, watermelon bashings, everything. But not only that, during rain season, water leaks everywhere; make sure you have good insurance for your stuff as they will not pay for that because they are plain evil, even though its on the lease that they have to. Because the apartments are basically carton boxes, your energy bills will be very high, cold as Antarctica during winter with the heat at 70, hot as hell and sticky in summer with the cooling at 60. The central air conditioning is poorly designed, some areas get it, some others dont, very uneven for the ones you really need, and very noisy.Another thing, reception for TV and cellphone is terrible. Because its located almost in the middle of nowhere, dont expect good services; yes it is really quiet sometimes but still when there are works like trash collection it appears as they are stamping the trash. plus Comcast has an unlawful monopoly of the internet service, and you cannot get another provider and they suck. The apartment layout is also rather inefficient. If possible, avoid this place, save yourself a lot of headaches. They tried to imposed me a 10% rate increase for the following leasing period (inflation is not that high!) and never notified about the expiration and new rate and they tried to renew it without my consent; luckily for me I bought a house and ran away from that god forsaken scammers in a jiffy. They also do false advertising, they sent me an email about the new apartments they built and were to be rented for $880 a month, but told me that because I was not poor I didnt qualify, still I could get almost the same rate I had which would still be almost 40% more from what was offered in the ad... No idea why would I have to pay more when I work harder than a cop that just stays outside in his car doing nothing or even a Walmart employee just sorts boxes, all while living from my taxes and then having them been so illiterate.
Ive been a resident of uptown for almost five years and ive truly enjoyed every minute of it. My apartment is a spacious, beautiful unit..and updated with the latest appliances, with a washer and dryer included..cathedral ceilings, it is a great environment for kids, and the staff is exceptionally professional and pleasant, i have and always will recommend this property.
I would not recommend the newer apartments on Gettysburg rd and would assume any of the other recently finished buildings are the same. I can not speak for the older buildings. When the hvac system runs you can not have conversations or watch television, get ready to hit the pause button on the cable box frequently. We have complained on several occassions about the issue and have not received any feedback or possible fixes from management. We have also spoken to several others that have complained about the same issue and also have received no call back or feedback from management. At this point we assume that they dont care and have no plans to resolve the issue. We will be moving out as soon as our lease expires.
I want to start out by saying how pleased my wife and I are with the apartment complex as a whole. It has been a very pleasant experience. We have one issue that if we could get around would make the experience perfect. The air conditioning system in our two story apartment does not properly cool any of the home, especially the upstairs.I am an Engineer and have tried every trick I know to cool the house.•I have closed the first floor vents only to have the temperature go up on the first floor with no impact up stairs on the second floor•I have put a fan at the bottom of the stairs to blow the cooler air upstairs with little to no impact.•I moved the fan to the top of the steps with no change in the upstairs temperature.•I have tried closing all the vents upstairs except the room I sleep in with no success, closing off the other rooms by shutting the doors.Bottom line, I need to find another way to improve cooling. Last week when it was 95 degrees outside the rooms were as follows:•Upstairs 88 deg•Downstairs 77 deg•Thermostat setting 73 degI tried sleeping but ended up downstairs on the couch.Uptown maintenance has been out twice with no success, and Uptown brought in an “Expert” who said that the unit was working properly and nothing was wrong. However he did not report on the CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) airflow out of the vents upstairs. That would have clearly shown there was an issue. My bill last week for electricity was $247.00 and I don’t use the oven. The air conditioning unit never stops running! I have a 4,000 square foot home in Indiana that I built 3 years ago that I will retire at soon and the air-conditioning bill with a hot tub was only $187.00Short of moving, my only alternative is to install a window unit in my room or have an outside firm like “Family Heating and Air-conditioning” come out and fix the issue, which I believe will require a larger unit.I need your help!Thank You,Greg Hilker
I have lived here for 2 years, and overall it has been a positive experience. Maintenance crew is wonderful, they are so friendly and willing to hep out whenever no matter what time it is, and even if they havent slept. Last winter as we all know it was brutal, I came home no heat, no hot water. It was after hours, I made a call, and boom they showed up, they were exhausted just from working however still friendly as ever and I had heat and hot water within 30 mins. Yes of course you will always hear your neighbors if they are a little loud, but lets face it, its apartment living. Farmers Market every Sunday is really good and growing. One downfall is, the price. It is a bit expensive, since no utilities are included and rent goes up every year.
Uptown has been a wonderful place to live. We encountered a leak in our attached garage. Bridgett Hudson and Eric Sexton brought in an outside contractor, presented a fix for the problem and the job was done. The garage in now totally dry. No tenant could ask for more, thank you!
I lived here for almost 3 years and have enjoyed every year so far. Its close to grocery stores as well as shopping for just about anything I need. One thing I enjoyed a lot is the Farmers Market across the street. The STAFF had been WONDERFUL!!! I have not had any problems with getting Maintenance to take care of any problem we may have had. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking to move to look here first ! Thanks Bridget & Jeff you two are GREAT !!
The property itself is lovely and modern, but overpriced and under-insulated. I paid $1250/mo for a 1st floor 2BR/2BA, and had to endure the noise of the 3 kids who lived upstairs and subwoofers of the people 2 floors above me. Even with high ceilings I heard everything. Management does nothing about it if you call, so if you need peace and quiet find somewhere else to live. I bought a house because that apartment experience scarred me for life.
Haven’t move in yet, but applied, till now, my application is completed, said manager will be approved but no responses for 3 days. More than 10 days after I submitted my application, I have to be actually in the office to completed it. I have emailed and called asked if anything missing for the application, always said nothing is missing. My paystub was emailed on the second day of my application, because the system only allows me to upload one paystub and paystub never been upload till I was physically in the office on 7/11/19. I was in the office again on 7/16/19, and was told manager will approve the application in the afternoon. Nothing happened. I don’t it is if the manager was on vocation or the actual office staff is not pushing the process forward. Every time I was in the office, the one who toured me (I don’t want to mention the name) pretend no one is coming in the office. THIS IS NOT RIGHT customer service!!!!!!BY IGNORING PEOPLE!!!!I sent MANY emails asked for application status and get a FEW reply! Emails has been read, but NO action has been done! If this is the attitude to a future resident, then I can imagine what will happen after move in.
AWFUL!!!!! Dont bother scheduling an appointment with anyone in the leasing office because when you schedule an appointment and have a confirmation for that appointment, call and confirm your appointment. They blow you off for walk-in appointments. You can take a gamble and waste your time driving out into the middle of nowhere to sit and wait with everyone else being blown off waiting for poor customer service or elect to spend your time finding an apartment with better management.
Felt very dismissed and very put off by two leasing agents. Wanted to live there but didn’t get a chance because of rules and regulations that are ridiculous and unlike any other apartment complex. They were cold and completely without empathy. Disappointing to say the least.
The Uptown community in Canton is an excellent place to live and raise a family. The community is always kept clean and the area is a very safe place. The school district is also great for K thru 12. The community and area is constantly growing with new businesses and things to do. I would definitely recommend Uptown Apartments in Canton, MI to my friends and family.
Maintenance is HORRIBLE. Every day they promise it will get done, every day they “escalate” the issue to get someone more important to look at it, and every day they fail. Moved in on 7/5 with the closet shelves torn out of the wall, and have been without a functioning closet for 6 days. Any guesses on if and when they’ll actually get around to fixing it. If it’s not done tomorrow, it will be my 7th call on the issue. Ridiculous!!
The maintenance service is horrible, I spend two weeks with an emergency in my kitchen and nobody came to fix it. I used to called the office and they just say the can’t fix it today... avoid this place. There is also anew construction going on, they didn’t mention anything about it when we sign the contract and now the main entrance is close do to the noise construction.
I havent visited this place but was trying to see if i can find an apartment here and visit their website to see how this community looks like. But the problem is that their website licence has been expired last month 01/08/2019 and every time I visit the site it prompts that this website might steal your personal information and site gets blocked. I doubt if they cant maintain their website itself then how they would be maintaining their community. I you want people to come in your community then fix your website first.

2022-06-11Pretty decent apartments in a good neighborhood. Clubhouse/office building was built in 2019 and has good amenities: modern gym, pool tables, a kitchen, etc. Street parking surprisingly a good option. Was on the pricier side when I lived there which was the only negative.

2021-12-28Uptown Canton Apartments are a wonderful place to make your home. The apartments are top notch and have everything you could want.Due to an unfortunate circumstance, I was not able to make Uptown Apartment my home.I worked with Danna, my leasing agent, and she was wonderful. She went over and beyond to help me make Uptown my new home, unfortunately my circumstances wouldnt allow it at this time.

2020-09-08Just spoke with a dude named Justin on the phone who hung up on me rudely, was impatient and was getting irritated with my questions though it is his job to answer enquirers about the apartment. So am never going to consider this place nor recommend it, with that attitude you are going to have issues living there.

2021-09-10I have been living here since March 2021 and have had a steady stream of issues with my unit including issues with hot water, losing heating, and millipedes entering my apartment even though all of the windows (which all have screens) and patio doors have remained closed. Now I have been getting wasps entering my unit. The exterminator that is being used by the complex has been out once allegedly and I have spotted the wasps nest literally inside a panel on the building. However, the wasps continue to live in the location. My windows and patio doors are locked and closed, but I have been killing 1-2 a day for weeks. I went into the office and spoke directly with the manager twice (a woman whose name I do not recall). When I told her the first time, I asked her if I needed to put in a maintenance order for this and she said no and that she would handle it. I found out a day or two before the weekly exterminator arrived that nothing was entered so one of the leasing agents did it for me.This issue has not been resolved, so the weekend of August 28th I entered the office and spoke to the manager again, and when I specifically asked her again if I needed a maintenance ticket she told me no and said shed be sending the exterminator and maintenance worker to see if they could figure out an entry point. This has not happened.I write this now as I am running out of options and am trying to figure out alternatives. I messaged the exterminator directly almost two weeks ago telling him that the issue has not been resolved and I have yet to receive a response. If you want timely maintenance that actually addresses the root of your issues, I would avoid this place. Im really trying to enjoy living here as I do love the floor plan and layout, but its been one thing after the other.

2022-02-07We, a family of 5, went there for a tour and were showed a 2-bedroom apt. I asked them could we rent the 2-bedroom cause our kids are small and we don’t need a huge apt and they said no problem. On the move-in day, I paid the move-in fee and was ready to get the keys. They told us we couldn’t rent a 2-bedroom cause there are 5 people in our family and they didn’t have any 3-bedroom available. What??? Why hadn’t they told us that the 1st time we were there and then on the MOVE-IN DAY they turn it upside down???Couple days later, I got an email from them saying they have an available 3-bedroom if we want to move in. I went to the office and asked them do we have a chance of getting in given our proof of income and they said MOST LIKELY. I went ahead with a 2nd application and paid the application fees and deposit. 2 days later, I got an email from them saying we got denied due to NOT SUFFICIENT PROOF OF INCOME. They tricked us and get 3x the application fees ($85 each, non refundable) and I am still waiting on my refunds of the move-in fee for the 1st application and the deposit for the 2nd application, total of $2,250 and it has been almost a month now.I have no idea what kind of business they are running but they don’t care about their customers at all!Be careful guys!

2021-11-24Pros: Good floor plans with in unit washer/dryer and dishwasher. Working plumbing, AC, and heating. Good cost for the quality.Cons: Narrow roads and parking spaces in the community, office doesnt always reply to emails or messages or even pick up the phone. No recycling program. Not much space for storage.
