Issac was super helpful! He helped my dad get a new couch for his new home and then remembered me when I came in again with my roommate for our new college home at U of M! John was wonderful is helping us as well! He helped us pick up the couch and was super friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely recommend for students and families!

I have been looking for a 3 piece living room for a little more than a year now. I was debating between a couple of models from different stores. During last year, the prices almost doubled. I didn’t find anything significantly different or better than what I have seen last year. With the help of Gadia, we finally made up our mind and chose the set that fit our need. The store manager, Pier was very helpful to close the deal and make it finally happen.
NEVER purchase anything from this store, worst customer service Ive experienced in a long time. Sales persons number on the business card isnt a valid number. Purchased a whole living room set at the end of 2021. Was told it would be delivered later than originally told. When it was delivered, a back to the love seat and a power cord was missing. Within 2 weeks of delivery the motor went out in the reclining chair. I waited 8-12 weeks for a new motor, motor came and it was the wrong motor. I was told I would get an even chair swap after that, that has been delayed SEVERAL times. Furniture arrived in February, I still dont have a chair that works and its the end of July. This is furniture that Im paying on and cant use. Value City is doing NOTHING to deal with this.
Furniture shopping can be so stressful, however at VCF and with the help of Joel, our experience was amazing! Joel was incredibly helpful today with our search to find the perfect end table. With just one quick look of the furniture we had already purchased, he was able to find us one that matches our space perfectly. Within 20 minutes it was in my car, on the way to the house. We can’t thank you enough Joel for the incredible customer service today. We will be back!
Good people. Good price. Good furniture.Upping the Stars on this one. Sales staff and managers (you guys know who you are) took really good care of us. Although I cannot say the same about other valu city locations. Also please please please do better with your delivery contractors. No-one likes to see damages to their home when getting new furniture delivered.
Ashley, our salesperson was attentive and informative. After our purchase was completed and on our way out we saw our furniture in a different color and we wanted to change our order, Ashley made it extremely easy to do so. We are happy customers so far.

My original review was based on the fact that they do not accept praise of their employees without a google review. Per their manager. The manager in question Pier did nothing but make me feel uncomfortable. This man would not take no for an answer. He was not respectful to me, but to my husband the polar opposite. He made promises that were unfulfilled. After purchasing the products the company left me on read. No delivery updates nothing. Only once I called their support line did I have a date set. Confirmation call came in, everything was set to go. No delivery, they moved the date, without a call. If you value your time and money avoid this place. The only reason to go was Brooke. She is the shining star in the pile of garbage of a store.
The sales lady was nice and that part went smooth. They changed my delivery date 7 times. Finally got a partial delivery date for 4-21-22 then they call on 4-20-22 and say it won’t we delivered until next week. All they could do is say sorry. I’m not available next week to accept the order and had to schedule time from work to be there multiple different times. I finally gave up and cancelled my entire order. They are unorganized and have no clue what’s going on.
Extremely disappointed with the service. We found a chair that we wanted and I get told its being delivered July 15th. I receive a follow up phone call saying it will be ready even sooner. Receive another phone call to schedule the time frame and the delivery address is wrong. Then Im forced to make multiple phone calls about where it will be delivered when its their screw up. Get told my date will now be September, and I cancelled the order based off of this. Unacceptable service provided. Dont make the customer make the phone calls when its your fault.
I purchased a couch last week. It was scheduled to be delivered today. But I had not received a phone call, so when I called they told me that I am supposed to pick it up in a week. I was charged another delivery fee, and now have to wait another week for it to be delivered.
Pier and Tim! They took care of us -- we found the ideal couch and had some unfortunate complexity -- not the fault of Pier or Tim -- but Pier found a way to get it worked out, was a person of his word, and took great care of us. Above and beyond! It was so clear how much they both really cared and how what mattered to us, mattered to them. Thank you for your exceptional customer service -- plus, we got our dream couch! :))
Our experience with Gaida and Pier was nothing short of wonderful. My husband and I went in to browse for new furniture for our recently purchased new home and not only did Gaida answer all of our questions, he truly went above and beyond to assist us. Their approach with their Customer Experience is great - you do not feel the salesy pressure to purchase an item. High recommend Gaida and Pier.
Gaida Amadou is incredible!!! We went in to find a couch and ended up with the best customer experience we’ve ever had. He made sure to get us the best deals and wasn’t hounding us like other sales people we encountered at other stores. I would highly recommend the store— just because Gaida works there!
Hands down-the best furniture salesperson we’ve ever had: Vishal in Ann Arbor! We were shopping for recliner chairs for our 90+ year old parents. We discussed all the variables and features of all the chairs and made a tentative selection. Brought our 96 year old dad in a couple hours later to test drive several models and he confirmed our selection. Vishal was very knowledgeable-but we never felt any pressure. After a poor experience at the GR VCF location, I took my business back to Ann Arbor. Pier, store manager, went above and beyond. He has exceptional customer service skills and was wonderful to work with.
We had a very good experience shopping for our much needed new couch at the Ann Arbor VCF store with consultant Emanie M. He was a pleasure to speak with and discuss our options and needs. He even helped move some of the smaller furniture around to help us make our final choices. My suggestion to others would be to plan a couple visits just for browsing as VCF have lots of amazing styles to choose from. The VCF staff stayed connected throughout the process of order and delivery. The couch arrived timely on the day we scheduled and the men who moved it in and set up the furniture were professional, respectful and pleasant. The 2 piece Cordelle Blue sectional and ottoman fits wonderfully in our apartment living space and we have been enjoying watching movies and taking comfy naps on it. I would purchase other furniture from VCF in the future based on this experience.
Joe’L Marshall is a great worker he helps you a lot and whatever you need help with you will find with him he is very nice and respectful and will make you understand things more and find what you need and will give you 5 star service and I would come back again just for him to help me find what I need he is very understanding and will listen carefully and find the perfect thing for your standards I truly recommend this place and him as your sales consultant.

So when i tell you first of all the the Ann Arbor store is so beautiful walking in!! The designs were beautifully paired together making my shopping experience all the more easier!!! The staff were exceptional!! They were punctual and very friendly!!! The upper management were great also with helping us with a delivery issue and resolving it right on the spot!! Came in to replace my living room sofas. Sales associate was very knowledgeable and showed me right to the sets I was debating online. I didn’t feel rushed or like I was just another customer to them.Office staff was great! They made financing my order and setting up delivery a breeze! We visited Value City Furniture for the first time yesterday and it was such a pleasant experience. They have such a huge selection of very nice, high end sets, especially sofas, love seats, and recliners, at amazingly reasonable prices. We were greeted warmly by the staff. Ethan, an especially friendly and knowledgeable sales representative, showed us around, told us about the different areas of the store and took the time to answer all of our questions.

Really nice location. Store is clean and neat, staff is friendly. The manager, Donna, was really helpful and friendly.Edit: I came back 6/5/21 to do some shopping for a new mattress and bed frame. I was greeted shortly after walking into the store and steered towards the direction of the mattresses. After browsing for a while I was assisted by the sales associate Faith. We chatted for a bit, I told her what I was looking for, my price range, etc... She showed me some options, and also showed me some of the items in the clearance center.I found something I liked, so now it was time to work on the price. Faith got Donna (whom I previously met) and Eric, the store manager, and we began discussing pricing. Eric worked out a pretty good deal for me and even allowed me to get an adjustable base from another set. We got the numbers to a point we were all comfortable with and it was a done deal.I came back the following Saturday for pickup. I was helped by Zak. Real friendly guy and he was careful and thoughtful with how he handled and loaded my new furniture.

Vishal Saini did a really great job. I wanted a specific item that was on the floor and he got it ready for me within a half hour. His employees cleaned the trash out of my car and loaded the item in. I was ecstatic and thrilled to have the item so quickly. This is my 2nd time going through them and Im very happy.
Gaida was the Consult who worked with me. He was very patient. He did not hover over me. He was not a typical salesperson. I looked over several living room sets. Took multiple measurements with a tape measure. He answer all my my questions and concerns with honest answers. I highly recommend Gaida. Ask for him you!

Today in the Ann Arbor Store we were met by a kind and insightful sales associate who is also an interior design student. Peyton was thorough and spent hours helping us decide on a new bed-frame and mattress set. Her knowledge of materials, options, combinations, and functions of the furniture was prolific. She has a real knack for being able to combine furniture styles with the pieces we already own just as an interior designer can. What an asset to the store to have that kind of talent.

My experience....You gotta pull your tags yourself. No sales person assistance until purchasing/checkout process...the manager was very rude to the new staff Ms.Peyton in front of staff and customers. (I wouldn’t be surprise if she didn’t return to work the next day.) They are very short staff...I visited the store 2x in 3wks. 1st time had pick up/delivery issues, delivery was a 90 minutes late...
We came in today to just look around at bedroom sets. Gaida greeted us when we walked in and was amazing! He would check in with us to answer any questions we had and then would give us the space to discuss without feeling pressured. We had an awesome experience and recommend Gaida to anyone looking for furniture!

We came in to value city furniture store in Ann Arbor to buy a new mattress for my sonI was very happy from service I received from sales person and he’s manager. It took some time to select the right mattress for my son but At the end of the day my son is very happy with his new Tempur-pedic mattress .Store was very clean and staff was very professional.

I told myself when my husband and I walked into the VC Ann Arbor store, we were going to make a decision & purchase our formal dining room set that same day. We were fortunate to have sales associate Tim Slaton greet us at the door & he helped us pick our dining room set, as well as a brand new desk & bookshelf for our home office. A commendable customer service, and exceptional quality of furniture.
I was not overwhelmed by salesmen upon entrance which I appreciate but was greeted kindly and helped right away. The selection was amazing and I kept finding more and more that I loved and the salesman was very patient and informative with all my questions. There was some confusion on delivery dates with the place that does the actual deliveries but the manager cleared up everything right away. I will definitely go back, they had the best selection out of everywhere I have been!
The sales representative Faith was such a wonderful saleswomen she helped us out in every possible way. She was patient, sweet, very helpful and knowledgeable. She made sure we got something we love although we were very indecisive she called us informing us the delivery will be in sooner than anticipated. She was absolutely wonderful. The store itself was very clean and appealing, loved the experience.
Gaida and Payton both helped me buy my amazing sectional and sofa recliner this week/ they were extremely helpful, friendly, and went above and beyond for me! I recently moved into town and they made my move much easier.
Pier was super helpful and straightforward. He showed us what would fit within our space limitations and let us know that an in-stock piece would save us money. No pushiness, just a nice greeting and useful info that made for an easy purchase decision.

Our salesperson greeted us soon after arriving. He introduced himself and offered his services. He checked back with us throughout our visit, but was never pushy about making a sale. Felt very comfortable in conversation about what we were looking for, style, etc. He remained patient the entire time, including that last half an hour as my wife and two boys sat on that comfortable gray sofa(ended up purchasing)at the entrance. We were so glad to have met Pier
I am giving one more update on my two reviews below. While we were very unhappy about the condition that our furniture was delivered in, Value City made it right.They sent a tech to repair the damage and clean the stains. They also gave us a small discount.I wish the experience went smoother overall, however when a company fixes their mistakes, it goes along way! Even with the issues and damage, Value City finally came through and earned their way back to a good experience. Thanks for making it right!Update 1:I am changing this review from a five star to a one based off our experience after our purchase in the store.We ordered a king size bed and mattress for $2700. We were very excited however found out very quickly that the bed and mattress we purchased were on backorder.We waited for months and months and experienced multiple reschedules. The company kept telling us that they had the bed and no mattress, then the mattress and no bed.We waited and waited. Finally, after our delivery being rescheduled four times, we were told that our full order was ready to be delivered!!!!!On the day of delivery, surprise surprise!....there was no mattress, boards or slats.The items they did deliver were damaged. Our headboard has stains all over the upholstery, black marks on the wood and chip on the top.What started as a great experience, turned into a true nightmare. We got rid of our old bed the night before since we were promised delivery in full of our items. If I could cancel the transaction, I would.We will NEVER do business with value city furniture again!!!**********Initial review:My wife and I had a great experience at Value City. Pier greeted us when we came on the door. We said that we had already looked and wanted some time to ourselves. He told us to call him when we needed. It was nice to have some breathing room in a furniture store. When we were ready he came and answered all of our questions. We asked many and were probably quite a handful. Kevin the manager came to assist as well and Pier and Kevin were able to work out the best package for us. We got a king bed, mattress and accessories at a reasonable price. Pier and Kevin then took more time with us to get us set up with financing through the store. The showroom is spacious and the salespeople are not pushy. Our salesman, Vishal, was great. He directed us to the type of furniture we were looking to buy and was attentive to our wants. I went to Value City to shop. I was happy with the sales staff, but not happy with the management. I asked to speak with the head store manager around 4 pm, he was gone already for the day. I asked to the another manager and he was on his desk not ready to help. If I was a district manager I would ask why is my management staff is leaving early all the time. Also, if I was a district manager I would ask maybe I should investigate the cameras too see in fact this it true. I’ve been in management before at a smaller company and I would never leave early. Also, if I was was a owner of a company why would I hire someone in that position. Pier and Mo were great.
We were provided with excellent customer service from our Sales Representative , Guests Services and Management. Very friendly and patient in helping us find what we were looking for. I would highly recommend all my friends and family.
I came into the store and was greeted professionally and politely by Kevin. I told him what I was looking for and he identified all the possible choices in the store. He was very accurate and precise on the information that he provided. I highly recommend asking for Kevin when going to this particular store because he will provide you with the best service and professionalism that one needs.
A very pleasant, effervescent young lady assisted me with the purchase of a bed and mattress. We will definitely go back to purchase more home furnishings as Peyton was a knowledgeable associate who has taken the time to understand the products she is selling.
The new store is so beautiful and we actually really enjoyed our buying experience. Silvana helped me pick out a new sectional that will hopefully outlast the 2 toddlers and family pets. She made a lot of recommendations and she has a great eye for color coordination and design. I will definitely head back there when I need something new!
My husband and I were browsing as we will be purchasing quite a few items for our new home in the near future. The man who helped us was Brian Proffitt, he offered great recommendations for the spaces we need to fill. We will definitely be back to purchase with him in October.

First time at this location today and I must say that the inventory was really nice, I only wish the sales team was. Me and my husband was in the store for over and hour and not one person acknowledged us, not one! No greeting at the entrance, even though there was an associate sitting at the desk when we came in and when we left. Smh people have to do better! I wanted to buy a sectional that I saw online but I guess someone else will get that sales commission.
Let me just tell you, the customer pick up service was amazing. specifically zak. his warm smile and energy just radiated through the room and was contagious. looking forward to seeing him again

I should have known better. Sales guy was ok. Told me my selection was in stock. Didnt want to wait five months for furniture so that was a plus. After paying for it the cashier almost caused a refund right on the spot. There was a conversation about delivery that didnt sit well with me. It was one of those kinds of things where someone makes you feel like there are going to be problems, realizes what theyve said and does their best to clean it up. I should have followed my first mind and just gotten the refund. Nothing went the way they said it would. From delivery dept call to the actual delivery. Contacted my salesperson re: delivery issue. Salesperson said they would call me back, nope they didnt. Delivery was set up and rescheduled the same day. Apparently the item was damaged. New delivery date needed. Had questions tried calling back. Every manager was in a meeting at the same time. If I had had a 1/4 of a clue about their customer service I would never have walked in the store. Was going to buy more stuff. Not after this experience.
Great experience! Mo was very helpful with suggestions, was patient with our questions and didnt hover over us while we shopped. Ruth was helpful with the payment process and provided alot of information. Well definitely shop at this store again.

The store is very spacious with lots of great modern items to choose from (and plenty of sparkly glam items if thats more your style!). Faith was very nice and helpful without being too pushy. Buying furniture is fun, but it is also stressful and expensive. Lots of decisions, wondering will it hold up?.. is this the right fabric we are investing in?... Will this piece really go with the carpet we have?... You know what I mean.We were fortunate to find Samira Farah when we were looking at Value City for a special piece of furniture. She listened to our needs, asked us questions, and then proposed and showed us different workable options. We had about 8,037,784 questions for her which she patiently answered and explained. She then figured out different configurations of our sectional pieces to save us money by combining some pieces.Quite frankly, her experience and knowledge were the deciding factors when it came time to for us to choose which company to get our Sectional from. While I would say that my Spouse and I are not hard customers to please,....we are not to easy to please and expect good value for our hard earned dollar, we continue to be very happy with our decision. Samira played a HUGE part in that and we are very grateful that she was on our team when it came time to buy furniture.
We were pleasantly surprised this week when we decided to stop at Value City in Ann Arbor. We were greeted immediately and once we were directed to the dining sets we were allowed to peruse the sets on our own with the staff frequently checking in to answer questions and offer suggestions. We will definitely return to make our final decision.

My experience could not have been better. Faith greeted me when I walked in and she put my fears of being pressured or “stalked” around the store at ease. She pointed me in the direction I needed to go in and checked in appropriately. I was in and out with a new sofa within an hour. The store itself is spacious, clean and overall offers a comfortable shopping experience.

We had purchased furniture at a Value City years ago, but the Ann Arbor store is nothing like we remember. This is an upscale store, with obvious renovations made since they took over the space. The staff are friendly and helpful...great experience!

The level of incompetence is beyond belief. I placed an order in store on 2/14 was told it would be delivered 4/6. On 4/6 no delivery, one customer rep stated “it’s scheduled for pick up” another rep claimed “it’s scheduled for May”. I come into the store for a refund of a $315 order because of the level of dysfunction and the lack of delivery only to be told “we don’t have money in store we’ll issue a check within a week”. It’s a new location that needs a lot of work. I’ve been a customer of value city for over 10 years and have never experienced such poor service.

Today, March 14, 2021, I walked into Value City Furniture Ann Arbor to select items for my new home. When I walked into the store there was a kiosk to the right which held two customer service reps. I was not greeted when I walked in and I chalked it up to them being busy. I figured that someone would eventually check in with me. I walked around the store for 10 minutes, within eyesight of 4 employees who were congregating at the kiosk at the front of the store. One employee was talking about buying $250 shoes and the others were just talking, laughing and hanging out on company time. I was never greeted and never spoken to by an employee.Needless to say, I bought nothing from this store and took my business elsewhere. It was such a disappointing experience. I will not assume why my experience was what it was. But I will say that it was not a good look. Especially when I witnessed another group of people walk in and be greeted right after me.

I went in to value city for a minute to kill some time. I needed a new mattress but wasn’t ready to spend the money. Vishal approached me with a huge smile and asked how he could make my day better. I told him to give me a mattress for free. He started laughing and said I can’t do it for free but, I will get you the best price in town without having to pay a dollar today how does that sound? I of course was hesitant but wanted to hear more. He explained how there were many different ways to purchase the mattress without hurting my wallet. The financing was a crazy deal. So now I say thanks to Vishal for the best nights sleep I have had in months.

2021-12-07I decided to check out Value City Furniture today to look for a smaller dining set for my eat in kitchen. Upon entering the store I was greeted by Pier. I let him know what I was looking for and he pointed me in the right direction. When he came to check on me, I showed him a few sets that caught my attention. I had specifics (round table, light color, did not want 6 chairs) that were important to me. Pier suggested I take a look at this beautiful set (in picture) which not only was what I was looking for, but absolutely beautiful. I loved that I was able to look around and not feel pressure or given too many suggestions that would not meet my need. I had a very pleasant experience and will definitely return for other needs.

2022-03-04Wonderful experience, wonderful staff, and the furniture is great quality and very stylish. Mr. Gaida Greeted us with his cheerful and welcoming manner. He helped us to choose a designer look sofa-set for our guest room, and went above and beyond to give us a very good deal. Everything went smoothly thanks to him. Mr. Pier the manager was also very courteous and assisted us with the process. We came to browse our options this morning, little did we know the burden of buying new furniture was off our shoulder faster than we thought!

2022-02-08My bed purchase / saga began in November 2021. I received/purchased a bed and I wasn’t happy with it at all. It took 3 visits to the store and many conversations with the corporate office. They all said I had no options and I had to deal with it. I suffer from spinal pain and needed to get this right. I cried and prayed for a solution. I just wanted a comfortable bed to sleep in. To make a long story short…I visited the store again, this afternoon and spoke with the manager Pier Johnson. He not only knew about mattresses but knew my November purchased mattress was the wrong purchase. The prior salesman had no clue about what I needed and sold me the wrong mattress! In hearing my story and looking at the pics, Pierwent about fixing the problem. He saved the day and also saved Value city’s reputation as being a not nice store to shop. I will tell folks about my wonderful experience with you. Thanks again for your concern and help in making sure I was a satisfied customer. You rock!

2022-02-09My husband and I walked in and were greeted by Peyton. She was helpful and informative. She gave us direction and left us to browse. Once we had made it through and had a few pieces we wanted more information on she was there to help us look on the tablet and give us all the answers we wanted. We ended up coming back a different day to seal the deal and Peyton recognized us right away and helped us complete the purchase right away. Even in these crazy times she ensured we had the fastest delivery option. Overall definitely recommend

2021-11-10I’ve had such a huge problem with Value City Furniture over the last 3-4 months, and I’ll say I think they have redeemed themselves with their very kind hearted and sweet worker John from the Ann Arbor location!! I called because I had my living room furniture for pick up because of my previous experience and I was told that the feet would already be put on to the 2 piece set that I order. I picked it up and of course the feet were not already attached so I called the customer service number and they transferred me over to the Ann Arbor location where I purchased my set from and I told them my problem. The lady on the phone said she would give me a call back with more information and I thought I wouldn’t have gotten a call back but John called me back and said that he could be at my door at 4pm to put the feet on for me!! Not only was he super sweet and kind, he was also respectful, he took his shoes off at the door and got right to work. Value City Furniture you really have an amazing worker on your hands!!! John was so amazing!!!

He is knowledgeable about products, professional, easy to talk to and HANDS DOWN.... one of the BEST salespeople I have run across in any genre.I started off my night at Bobs furniture on Eisenhower and boy... I got HUSTLED. What a wonderful experience we had he was very personable very knowledgeable very helpful couldn’t have gotten a better sales person to help us.
