I came in looking for a mattress and box spring set, since I am moving out on my own . And soon as I walked into the store I was greeted by Deshaun, she asked what I was looking for and I explained to her my situation. After spending time in the store we found the perfect mattress for me and set up the drop off time and date to coincide with my move date at my new home. Deshaun was very nice and understanding of my situation. The entire staff was very helpful throughout the entire visit and purchase. I would highly recommend them for anyone who is starting out and my be on a budget. They can help you find the perfect fit for you and your pocket book. :)
The worst purchase ever. NEVER fall for the warranty scam. They will not let you change your furniture if its damaged. The sectional we bought was so bad that we cannot sit on it. Ended up with back issues and when complained to the company they just said good luck. Filed warranty claim twice and they dont want to cover structural issues. What a scam. We paid 2k for sectional which has no use now. Very very disappointed . Going to file complain with better business beau
My husband and I was greeted with kindness. Aaron Young did not just welcome us at the door, and say the dinning set are over there. He talked with us regarding our concerns and walked and talked with us. He was an awesome Salesperson and Representative of Value City. When I could not make up my mind for end and coffee tables he was on target.
I would have given negative ten stars if had that option.Dont buy anything from this store - Value City Furniture. Especially, dont trust what the salesperson would tell you. They would tell you anything to get their bonus.Got a furniture set and added warranty. However, when we filed claim couple of times, they said it doesnt cover. Later found out everything what the salesperson said was a lie and ended up not being able to use the warranty. Looking into filing a complain with BBBDo your research before you buy or avoid Value City Furniture if possible!
Very great quality for the price point. Tried to get something specific customized for our home from a competitor and almost spent 1500.00 more than what we actually needed. At that price point, we got power recliners on both ends, delivery and set up, extra seats for our customization, and a warranty without sacrificingany quality. It was by far the easiest purchase my wife and I could make and will come back for outdoor furniture.
The Westland location never answers the phone. I’ve been waiting on my dining room set delivery which was purchased 5/20/22 and given a 6/30/22 delivery date. I received the call confirmation and time frame. Took off work to be there at the end of the time frame I received a call stating my delivery had to be rescheduled due to my table arriving broken it was rescheduled for today 7/7/22 I received a confirmation call on 7/4/22. Today is delivery day again no call no show. They aren’t answering the phone I checked the website tracking the date shows 7/27/22 now. This is my first time ever purchasing from value city furniture I don’t think I’ll ever purchase anything from them again. They will see me today
Do yourself a huge favor…. Value city uses Rapid Response for their furniture deliveries and it has been the biggest hassle and headache I’ve ever received from a company. The delivery staff is completely unprofessional, value city claims white glove delivery but it is THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE! Upon receiving my first table it was completely damaged by the neglect and disregards of this delivery team, they damaged the table before they even brought it into my house. On the 2nd occasion regarding a replacement for this table, the delivery men refused to remove the damaged table and proceeded to push the table against my wall; damaging it and then walked out. Finally today 7/21/22, they delivered the new replacement table(thankfully in great shape), the same delivery team was extremely rude, confrontational, walked in with their dirty shoes on, and refused to explain anything. If these are the same men who deliver your furniture I’m sure you will experience the same thing. And if your hoping to receive white glove service with these men who work for value city, your mistaken, you will be receiving dirty shoes on your floors and extremely unprofessional delivery staff.
This has to be the most incompetent furniture company ever to exist! I bought a sectional MONTHS ago after I was reassured by manager and sales person base and legs could be removed bc that was the only way it was going to fit thru my door. We confirmed weeks ago base and legs would be removed PRIOR TO DELIVERY. Of course it shows up with base and legs and the delivery guys are way toooooo lazy to remove them. We wanted them to measure it and try to get it in. Instead of trying they drove off. I discussed with manager several times what we needed and was assured numerous times this was no issue.I
VALUE CITY IS TERRIBLE!!!!! I gave them a last try from previous experiences with my family and friends in the past years.... yes VC was the go to back in the day. Either Ive gotten older or they fell off!!!! Ive gotten a few pieces of furniture from them last year for a 90 day same as cash. I placed a price hold by the manager for a table and bench set(partial). Now given that the initial pieces were financed through acceptance now.... Not only did I barely make it through the 90 days, my total was around 1600 give or take, past the 90 days , it went to over 3800 on top of the 1300 I have already paid.... HOW??? If janky was a company(s)!!! Ok so back to the price hold. I couldnt afford to get it all out along with my recently purchased items within 90 days. I was told whenever I come get the items, I could. Which is the purpose of price hold... I called and they stated I couldnt get a piece out at a time and they wouldnt have it in stock for months.after... so I said Ill keep it here for when they get the items in stock and I can pay it out.... how about when I call they say, oh its a different location(they moved) , but you can go anytime and wither cancel or payoff and retrieve items when theyre in stock.. I say ok cool. I come to the store, payoff my other items and try to refund my price held items and they tell me I paid with a gift card and a few bucks in cash. NEVER HAPPENED! Because they moved stores, it transferred over as a gift card. Not my problem. Then tells me I can only get the few dollars and the rest was taken out by VC becausethey charge every month you dont come pick up your item... What?! When were yall going to contact me!!!! They stated we dont reach out. Oh but acceptancenow sure enough calls me constantly! But yall couldnt communicate that. I would never ever do business with them again..Peeps if you arent cashing out, then loose your business with them.... they dont care about anything. And then not only did I have to only get my few dollars back, I had to wait a week for a requested check. More money wasted... COMPLETE INCONVENIENCE
Our home furnishing consultant was Jerry Rice, he was super patient and very professional. He answered all our questions calmly and was very helpful during the entire process. If you are looking for classy home decor and furniture within reasonable prices, Value City is a must visit.
Bought Fabric couch and recliner, 6 months later we noticed the fabric balling up like a cheap sweater on both pieces. We call they send out a man to take pictures. I call the store, they don’t like what he said we are sending out a guy from the store. Of course nothing can be done it’s not a defect. The fabric in 6 months is literally falling apart. I ask for the manufacture name, they don’t know. Was told to call corporate maybe they know the manufacture. I said please remove these pieces from your show room floor they are complete garbage, but of course they didn’t. Don’t buy from here, I know I won’t ever again.
I came in to purchase new furniture for my new home and Grace and Hollis took excellent care of me. Grace was very patient and helped educate me on different beds and the quality. As stressful as furniture shopping can be I felt comfortable and at ease with the entire purchase and look forward to shopping again with Grace.
Wife an I came in looking for a new bed. Brian was very friendly and helpful in finding the right match for us. He was also very helpful with the quotes we were asking for with the bedroom set until we made a final decision. Definitely recommend asking from Brian when you come in.
One of the worst customers experience, this is my first time shopping with value city. I ordered multiple items with them. I had my first deliver for a couch, bed frame and a sofa where the sofa was torn completely which we ended in returning . My second delivery was schedule for Feb 23 for which they called on Feb 13th and said it won’t be deliver till April mid and that too might be and I can cancel the order if i want to. I already have chairs and sideboard which we got which matching that table there is no way we can cancel the order at this point. When I called the customer support they were super rude and cancel the order if you want.
Went to VCF Westland for coffee tables and couches. We had some issues with the coffee tables being chipped in some places and cracked in others. I’m not disappointed at all because Brian Grier had our backs the entire time. Brian took care of the entire situation and kept reaching out to assure me he’d handle everything. The entire process of getting it replaced was smooth and painless.Thank you Brian.
Their marketing strategy of displaying attractive yet they hide the real cost in the back of the flyers. It is just annoying and a waste of time.Also, their discount relies mainly on the sales rep you are dealing with as some will give me better discount that gets cut of their commission.Availability is an issue as they display a lot of items and then give you delivery date for months out. They order it from the manufacturer after you pay for it. To me it is annoying not to be able to get what you want when you want it.
Michelle was our salesperson.. She was so nice and really above and beyond to assist me. My son really wanted a bad he saw and it it it was beyond our budget. The sales manager combined with other team members helped to make the purchase happen. I definitely. Appreciate and am grateful for the time and effort. Definitely will be back. I was eyeballing living set.
MY BEDFRAME COLLAPSED ON ME. furious. Apparently customer service rep AND management admitted they sell low quality items and “I’ve seen this happen before. Sometimes they last forever sometimes two weeks”. WHAT? Then they said i can return it WITH A 15% RESTOCKING FEE on an item that is so damaged it cannot be resold as “as is”. DISGUSTING. Will NEVER shop here again.
What a wonderful experience, we have gotten several pieces of furniture from here and couldnt be more happy! Brian has helped us and is awesome with his customer service. I would strongly recommend having Brian as the person you deal with to get your furniture, you will not be let down!
Our sales associate Jerry was awesome! We had to order a new couch because the original one we ordered was discontinued. When we came in and found something we were interested in, we told him we needed delivery ASAP (weve been without a couch since January). Jerry kept us up to speed on everything and listened to our needs. Thanks to his awesome customer service, we found the perfect couch for our family.

In womens terms, furniture shopping is similar to bra or jean shopping. Its painful. However, I had the BEST shopping experience and got the best salesman! Ask for Ray Smith. Hes a cheeky Brit! Bad management very bad manager good luck talking to him Do not order anything from value city you’re going to end up ordering furniture will take months to com in And it will eventually come in damage then they’ll tell you will send someone out to check it out and then when you go to the store they’ll tell you your seven days are up we can’t do nothing for you oh I’m stuck with damaged furniture for God knows how long and they couldn’t do anything else about itOh and the manager good luck talking to her Again
I ordered several items totallying a couple thousand if dollars in September all for deliver in early to mid October. Well some stuff that was supposedly in stock were now mysteriously on a dock somewhere??? Well I went back and changed the order for something (Queen bed set) that was definitely available! The deliver date for that changed several times and as of yesterday changed from November 29th now December 29th (just after my scheduled guest leave!!!). I canceled my order and will now try Gardner White.. This has been a horrible experience. I will never shop there again! Repeat NEVER!!!BTW: This also happened on an order I had pre-pandemic, so no excuses just lies and unfulfilled promises!!!
This store looks amazing it is very well organized. I was greeted soon as I walked in the door. They also had a excellent 120 day same as cash program. I was able to get my furniture and not spend all of my pocket money. The program also helps build your credit. Acceptance Now manager was great also. This store has the most friendly staff I ever seen in a business

Great place to get new or clearance furniture! They have all the latest styles for all the rooms in your home 🏡! The staff was friendly and helpful too. I picked up something from the clearance side, but you cant tell. Located on Wayne Road in Westland at the former Art Van store!
We came in to look at a furniture piece we saw online and Aaron Young approached us and asked us wha we were looking for. We explained the piece and he knew rite away what we wanted and took us over to it. It was a very easy process and he was very knowledgeable! We walked away with our full 3 piece living room set for a great price and are very happy! Def. recommend!
After getting the runaround at Gardner White we came to Value City Furniture and soooo glad we did! We received excellent service from Michelle who genuinely seems to like her job (big plus) and was able to answer all our questions with a bright smile! We will be back!

I was just in the store and Barb helped me. This is the 10 or 12th time I’ve been in the store in the past 6 months and every single time I left disappointed. Today is the first day I felt I was dealing with someone who would help me solve my problems with my furniture. She is the best sales rep and most of all friendly. I will be returning to barb for my basement furniture in the next few months.

Due to pandemic things have been crazy, and have affected all businesses, so I had problems with my orders, mix up, delivery days changed a few times, communications, but even after all that, we did get are furniture, and must say very very pleased with it, had another minor problem, with another issue on one of are other pieces, Associate Dooley , stepped in and took care of us hands down, all problems were solved after that. Can’t say enough on how he handled the last part of are problem. Will be returning to buy more stuff because of the customer service he gave us after all the mishaps in beginning.

The new store is beautiful. As you enter the store, everything shines and glitters. Tammy, our sales associate, greeted us and we found the perfect furniture within just a few minutes. It was fun to to browse, as there is so much to see. Looking forward to returning soon!
My 5 star rating I gave on behalf of the sales rep’s request went down to no stars. The sales person was good but as for getting what you pay for this place is a joke. Don’t order unless you like the hassle and frustration or you want your furniture a year later. Purchased in March and still no furniture.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We paid over a grand for couch and chair they said it would be delivered in just over 2 months. We called today to check the status (we were told someone would contact us but no one did) as it was to be delivered tomorrow, we were told it would be ANOTHER 3 months for one piece and the other would be delivered NEXT YEAR. Absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend shopping here unless you’re okay with getting your order a year late. We have also been on hold for over 30 minutes trying to get a refund. Absolute garbage service.
This is my first time buying furniture from this store and I am really regretting it and it is going to be last time. I had a terrible experience with this store. I ordered kids bedroom, two sofa seats, one love seat and chair all were in first week of January 2021. The kid’s bedroom arrived at scheduled time but there was a problem with chest drawers. I contacted them two times to get scheduled for the services. After that a person finally came and he said he needs to order some parts and come back, this was back in February still trying to know and calling them to know if he is coming back to fix the issue. One sofa and love seat supposed to get delivered in the middle of February but they called me to say that it is going to be in middle of March, then they called me in March to say they are going to delivered sofa in March and love seat at end of June.The chair also was delayed until April. Unfortunately I had to cancel the sofa, love seat and the chair. Only one sofa was delivered on time and in a good shape. I had problem with trusting them anymore with time of delivery, the quality of the things, and their way to handle the issues and deal with their costumers.
So, when you walk in everything nice around you, and employees so welcoming, however i just gave two star regarding the delivery timing issues. Just keep in mind your delivery date is not gonna stay the same and they blame everything on COVID. And that they have nothing to do with the delivery department.I paid extra $150 for delivery and my initial date was mid April, and they kept delaying it couple times, till it was delivered in mid June. A full 2 month delay!!! And customer service might be rude to you, when you ask why all this delay happeningSo eventually we got our sofa & recliner and they were nice &professional put them in our sitting room.
My daughter took me here to look for a new recliner. She recommended I see Jerry. And boy was she right! We tried several other places including another Value City location but they just werent doing it for us. The minute we saw Jerry he directed us right to the electric recliners and answered all of my questions. Got me some extra deals and saved me more money. Best salesman i have ever dealt with. If you need anything from here please go see Jerry! You wont be disappointed!
I ordered furniture from this establishment and was told it’ll be delivered on March 26. When delivered the guy stated one of my furniture pieces will be delayed about 5 days. Why didn’t a Manager or Store Manger call me and communicate that so I’d be aware? So I called and some Manager took my number down and said she’ll call once the computer system is back up. That was March 26, 2021 it’s been 3days and no one contacted me.Please don’t order from this company save the hassle and go to Gardener White.
Excellent store! Very clean, organized, friendly staff, not pushy at all like the Dearborn location. They have all kind of trendy styles and the standard traditional styles as well. Ive been buying lots of furniture from Value City and their quality is amazing. Excellent real leather sofas, very durable. Ive bought a set 12 years ago and still looks brand new. Another set is 6 years old and looks brand new as well. Im in for my 3rd set now. Great deals happening now through the 30th of the month. I was helped by Brian, Excellent service and very professional, knowledgeable and provides great advise. I live 7 minutes aways from the Dearborn store but would never go there again. I much rather drive extra 25 minutes and go to the Westland store.
I got furniture delivered almost two weeks which was a hour late. Once they drivers left I realized they did not leave the adapter to make my furniture work. After calling for three day the manager did bring one out. He gave me the wrong adapter as well. Now he we are again Ive reached out to head quarters and this location. The manager can never come to the phone. There is a lady that always tells me she will take a message and have the manger Hollis call me back. Well here I am no nothing no customer service or anything I guess my little 2500.00 meant nothing that I spent!!!!!!!!!! Sorry As Customer Service HORRIBLE LOCATION

To all you 5 star people.....you will never get your furniture. Theyre quick, fast, efficient taking your money. Ordered a couch of 4/2/2021 expecting to see it June 9th. NOT! Kept delaying delivery date while still paying for it. Every week pushed back further and further. Canceled order and moving on Go to their facebook page for the real experiences.
We ordered a living room set, coffee table, and a huge dining set in November. It is now almost June and we have only received one couch and two dining room chairs!!! We were first told we would have everything in January with two chairs coming in March. I was fine with waiting those couple months, but this is absolutely ridiculous at this point. They called in April and said it would be here in May. Weve been calling daily and they just say that someone will call us back, but nobody ever does. They have no problem billing us every month though! This place is the WORST!!!
Ask for Rudi! The most experienced sales person I have ever encountered. His attitude was professional and Rudi made me and my wife have a good time throughout the sale. The whole experience didn’t feel like a chore, it felt like having fun with a good friend. I am so happy with my experience at this store and will be referring Rudi to my family and friends. I bought a recliner that was supposed to be picked up by a friend on March 16th, 2021. I bought it with the knowledge that I had surgery on the 12th and I needed this recliner to be able to rest and recoup in. When I called on March 15th, 2021 to confirm pick up and see if they had a time they they told me that the new pick up date was mid April. I can definitely understand that things happen and with all the people buying furniture because of the quarantine, stimulus and taxes that delays will happen. But I’m upset about the fact that no body communicated with me that the date has changed. They had access to my email and phone number so there’s really no excuse. I was also told that I would have to wait a few days for my refund. Thankfully I had enough to purchase a chair at Gardner white but again that’s not the point. If I would’ve known days before I would’ve been able to get my chair situation earlier. I know I’m just a number to value city and they don’t care that I’ll never shop their again but I hope this review helps someone else
Do you want to order furniture and never actually receive it? Then look no further than VCF. My wife and I ordered a couch in the beginning of May to be delivered at the end of June just before our wedding when we were having company to the house. The delivery date was continuously pushed back by VCF until finally they said the had received it from the manufacturer and would deliver it July 3rd. July 3rd came and went and no couch and no call from VCF to reschedule or even let us know they weren’t coming. I call after the holiday and no apology or hey we’re going to get that to you tomorrow. Nope they just try to pick a day to deliver it without even checking if that day worked for me and they refuse to deliver it any earlier. After getting the runaround on the phone from them I finally had to go in and give them the option of delivering it the 7th or cancelling the order. I guess my order wasn’t that important to them because they cancelled it. Needless to say they will not be getting any other business from me and I would suggest steering clear of them as well.
On February 28th, my better-half and I spend nearly 3-hrs at Value City Furniture in Westland at the North Wayne Road (old Art Van) facility. I cant say enough good things about our sales person Aaron Young. He was polite, engaging, funny and took the time to get to know us as well as let us get to know him. He personally toured the entire store with us as we sat in nearly every piece of furniture to find the right fit for us. However, there was not single bit of pressure, he was basically a member of the family testing everything out along with us as we joked and laughed. This young man has a couple of customers for as long as he decides to stay at VCF because we cant see ourselves shopping with anybody else. If youre looking for furniture, check out VCF and ask for Aaron!
I went with a plan and achieved better. I purchased the four dining room chairs and purchased a table foe the kitchen table with four chairs at a great bargain. I plan to return shortly to purchase tv stands. When you come in ask for Ray. I love vcf Nd have made several purchases over the past 20 years.
Had a Sales rep by the name of Brian he helped me all the way through the purchase process .explained things in simple terms made sure I got what I needed concerning a bunkbed and mattress for my sons .I would definitely refer others to this VALUE CITY..because of Brian great work bro !!
I purchased a blue beautiful sectional with a chase on the one side and I felt so bad I went back up there lime 3 times to change my order because of the way my living room had to be set up and the people behind the desk ther for paying and delivery were so so nice and polite and helped me.with no bad expressions or anything I know it was hard I work in customer service also but Billie and.the other 3 in the Westland area just were absolutely beautiful people that care even if you were a pain thanks to you guys I recommend this Value city in Westland Im coming back!!!

2022-02-05Aaron was exceptional in selling me a mattress today! I have not bought a mattress in years, and was a bit unsure on quality and price. 2022-05-19I had a great experience with the purchasing of my bed and the delivery into my home. However I have found some damage to my boxspring as I was removing the plastic. And that plus my 2 free pillows not being delivered, then not in stock and I have to wait until july for new pillow, you are receiving only 4 stars.

2022-02-23Walked in and immediately was greeted very warmly by a sales rep named James. Who proceeded to be super helpful and answered all my questions quickly and explained to me how to find the customer pickup. I didnt even buy nothing. I can only say if you need furniture, lamps, tables come here. And hopefully your sales rep will be as helpful as James was, or you might get lucky and get James

2022-03-18Made a purchase of clearance item in October 21. The item broke in January 22. Contacted person for repairs end of January 22, emailed photos of problem. I wasnt contacted. I did follow up end of February 22. Service man came out March 8. 22. Made calls after service man completed appointment. Appointment completed on Tuesday. I did follow-up 3 days later. Was told serviceman in at 1Did not get return call. I called back following week. Put on hold no one answered phone. Talked to manager of furniture store March 22. He basically said didnt matter. That I did not get service until 35 days from my first contact cannot be responsible that I continued to do damage to this case a bed. He could only address original complaint. I will never make a purchase again your Westland store. Which is closer. I will use store in Taylor, Michigan, or make my purchase from the Garden White Furniture store.

Jerry helped my fiancé and I pick out our furniture for over 4 hours, it was the best experience I’ve had with really any customer service experience. Jerry is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and adds value to your whole shopping experience.

2022-06-28Amazing selection and upscale staging. Store is huge with a wide variety of products and very good prices. Nemon was amazing in helping us secure our sofa but also dropping heavy knowledge on what mattress would be good for us. Zach helped us closed the sale a week later as Nemon would be out of office. Appreciate both of you for helping us get exactly what we needed. We will definitely be back!
