Ive used Vander Hyde three times now and every time Ive been really, really pleased with their work. All technicians have been courteous, straight-shooters that are professional and competent. At this point, I feel confident that Ill get quality work from them every time they come out and consider myself a loyal customer as a result.
Two technicians came to diagnose and repair my water heater, answer my questions and provide me with a replacement estimate. They were very professional, knowledgeable and helpful.I’m a first time customer; a friend recommended VanderHyde. I was very impressed and will call them again.
I used Vanderhyde last year to take a look at my mini split system and they did a great job. So, I decided to look at them for some electrical work I needed done and that was a big mistake. I got a garage quote that seemed high for the work needing to be done, however I had such a good experience with them previously and I felt like I knew them, so I nearly went with this quote. In the interim, I had them come out to install a Sense Smart Home monitoring system. I told them this on the call ahead of time and told them where to find exactly what they needed. The electricians came out after cancelling twice ($90 for the privilege) and then quoted around $400 for very basic work I could have done myself easily if I was more comfortable around a live wire. Even if not, I felt a warning of the high cost was warranted ahead of time.I felt very bait and switched on this-- they couldnt tell me anything ahead of time price wise despite me telling them the type of panel, and the exact thing theyd install? I dont buy it. I called them and they said they dont quote exactly until they get on site (makes sense), and that they dont list base prices much either. They then read off to me smart home installation base prices, giving me base prices. I felt because of my early experiences with them I could trust them, and that was a mistake. Now I am out $90 with nothing to show. Do not go with Vanderhyde.
When you own an old home with steam heat, you become an amateur boiler tech, gathering bits of information as you go. Jeff not only replaced some corroded parts, but also gave me good guidance for taking care of my boiler. Vander Hyde will be our go-to service provider from here on in.
Had a HVAC up grade thats all I got. Shoddy workmanship, minimal effort to make it right. Called while it was still under warranty about problems. They came out to check out complaint and agreed. Said they would come back to repair the errors. Three months later and still waiting for work to be done.Would not recommend them to anyone
Called and set up an appointment to install a whole house fan motor. Had my dad wait for them to come. No show. Came a few days later to give a quote. The prices were very high and ranged from $900- $2600, based on warranty. I just wanted the motor installed so I got up the nerve to go in my attic myself. It was a tight fit, army crawled through the blown in insulation. Attached the motor, belt and electrical in 30 mins. The fan is working again! If they were reasonable prices they could have made $2-300 bucks in 30 mins.
Wes is a great service tech. Polite, friendly and knowledgeable, answered all my questions; if he didn’t know the answer off the cuff he got ahold of someone in the company who did. Feel free to send him back for my future maintenance appointments. Wes was also training a new guy who was also very courteous in his own right. In addition to our A/C, VanderHyde also installed our whole-house Generac generator; we’ve never had a bad experience with them and I highly recommend VH for your HVAC, electrical and plumbing needs.
After spending nearly $1200 on repairs and maintenance, two months later our AC died in the middle of a heat wave. We contacted them and were told it would be a week before they could get someone out. On the same day this happened, we called Grapids, and they immediately sent someone out. We were informed that Vanderhyde missed a problem with the motor that should have been obvious to anyone who knew what they were doing. On the positive side, maybe they wont be “too busy” now that theyve lost multiple customers.
Kyle was out for an estimate, very professional, called on the way to confirm. Just getting the quote now so havent decided which service im using, but if I do use it, Kyle played a big part in it.Update: Jonathan was equally as impressive. Very happy start to finish!
I highly recommend finding someone else for HVAC. Service manager refused to return my phone call after I had an issue with a pump they installed wanted to charge close to $500 to replace a $50 part. They also dont know the warranty specifications for parts they sell.
Jeff is very knowledgeable, polite & friendly. He normally takes care of my heating & cooling systems, but I was delighted when he came to deal with a leaky faucet issue. I spent a lot more than I originally thought I would, but he did a lot more. Got a new faucet that will work much better than my old one because of its design. He also replaced some old, sludgy pipes and some crunchy sounding shut offs. I should be good now for a long time with that issue! He also was kind enough to give me estimates on a couple of other plumbing projects for the future. He is great at explaining things & that helped me not cringe so much at the cost.I hope he doesnt retire in my lifetime! He is a great asset to your customers and your company.
I needed immediate plumbing services on 7/11. I called at 8:00 and was told I would be the second job. Checked at 11 and still no eta. Called after 1 and was told they couldnt make it today. So I ended up calling someone else and have to pay after hours prices. No very professional. I am in the service business and would never lead someone on that long. Terrible experience.
I scheduled a service visit was told a representative would come out for a free quote regarding our Generator service request for a new starter. I went out of my way to be home for the two hour window of time they wanted. Then, I get a call from the office from Kelsey, as the representative let me know he was on his way, that they were going to charge me $99! This is inexcusable and please people, be warned of their unprofessionalism!
The team was right on time. After a walkaround with booties (theirs, not mine) they got to business. Dropcloths were set out. The outside AC and inside coil were replaced efficiently. The new system is a Goodman and it is working nicely. We will watch the CP billing to see what the difference on a higher SEER will be. The old unit was a 19 year old Goodman.
Not only were they on time and prompt with repairs, but they helped prevent a potential major accident. We had a light fixture installed by another pro and I noticed it was starting to separate from the ceiling. When Brian started to loosen further it actually fell! Luckily they were able to catch and there was no damage but this fixture is located directly over our spair bedroom bed! They have a forever customer and I highly recommend.
Anthony was kind, professional, and did a wonderful job. I am especially thankful for his help with the home warranty process!Jacob Connette came to fix my gas water heater pilot last Monday, and he was incredible as well! He is very thorough and professional. Weve been having an issue with our water heater for 2 years, and he finally was able to fix it! He even drove back to the company warehouse to pick up parts to fix everything in the same day, even though it was at the end of the workday. We really appreciate his hard work!
We had multiple technicians from various companies come to look at our plumbing issue. While using Vander Hyde I was informed when making the request for a visit that I would be charged 89 dollars for the visit. I was okay with that, due to the positive reviews that I saw. However, I did not know that after 15 minutes of the technician being on-site that I would be charged an additional 93 for a diagnostic charge, and then was not offered the option to complete the job that day. Also, the quote was almost double what other service providers were offering. We ended up going with another company and when I realized that I was charged this amount from Vander Hyde I called to gather clarification. This was a difficult process and was refunded 26 dollars for the loyalty program, but not for the additional charges, and was asked to talk with a manager, and was never contacted back. I called 2 weeks later, and finally spoke to someone regarding this. No additional refunds issued. Each person including the technician were professional and kind. However, I would make sure you are aware of the additional costs associated, and how much higher their services are in comparison to other providers in the area.
Gary Dever did an amazing job. Showed up to the job site with everything to complete the task proficient and quickly. I was looking on getting a estimate and making a decision later, but between having the correct water heater and a competitive price I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
Jeff was pleasant, informative, and so patient with my questions, which didn’t all come up at the same time - he explained things, showed me the problem areas. Gave overall impression of knowing what he was doing, AND enjoying it. To me, that is almost priceless -(besides the obvious knowledge, of course-). I will definitely be coming back.
Everyone we called was going to take two weeks to get here, then a friend called Vander Hyde and made the appointment for us... for the next day! How great is that? Pretty great. But then they called a few minutes later to tell us they were going to try to get someone here that day instead! Ultimately that same day upgrade didnt work out, but if there has ever been anyone that deserves credit for trying, its Vander Hyde. When they arrived the next day they were friendly and informative and in the end successful. Who could ask for anything more?Id give them six stars if I could.
An evening furnace failure in late December is a nightmare, but Vander Hyde couldn’t have been better! Gary got back to me quickly, was upfront about the potential costs, and was at the house within 2 hours. A really great experience (as furnace failures go), and I can’t recommend them highly enough!
We had an all house generator installed by Vander Hyde. We were informed of the tasks we needed to get done through DTE and the landscaping changes needed in preparation for the installation well in advance. Rachel was helpful answering questions and keeping us posted on the arrival of the generator. Kyle and Cody did a thorough job of installing the generator staying late to get it completed. They also brought attention to a leak on our gas meter. Thank you Vander Hyde.
Great job! Very professional and courteous. It seemed a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it. I called them late afternoon and I had a tech on-site mid-morning the next day. They also gave me a free estimate on another repair that I may need in the future. I definitely recommend!
Initial appointment was going over options with Trevor and he did a great job laying out my options and the prices for each option. Setup an install date and installers arrived on time and stayed later that night to finish the job so they wouldnt have to come back(was originally estimated to be a 2 day job depending on if 2 or 3 installers were on site). Antonio and Keegan did a great job installing everything very neat n clean install. They explained everything at the end and made sure I was happy before they left. Happy with my new systems and the service!
He came to our house to give us an estimate in regaurds to Generac. Generator he was very professional and answered all questions. He was excellent in presenting this wonderful product to us. He was also timely in responding as to cost for us if installed. I would highly reccomend this product to anywhere!
Vander Hyde, has helped us with many things. Today, Jackson H was here to do yearly maintenance on our generator. He was on time, knowledgeable, kind and very personable. In the past, Vander Hyde installed our A/C. They also upgraded, installed our Breaker box. Always willing to answer any questions. Jackson, was great today! All of the team from Vander Hyde, are great! This is the company to call for any of the services they provide.
Matt Dunham came to my home for a furnace checkup. He arrived right at 8:00am. He is always very polite and does a great job.He performed tests on my heating system to make sure it was prepared for this season.I would highly recommend VanderHyde for all your mechanical needs and Matt for your furnace services.
When my hot water heater went out, I immediately called VanderHyde. Because it was a weekend, they were very willing to come out but Nicely saved me money by suggesting I wait. They were here by 10:30 AM the next business day! Anthony was adorable. He did a great job, was quick, knowledgeable, and super polite. All with a beautiful smile. I highly recommend this company.
Vander Hyde Service was wonderful to work with - from scheduling to service work. Sam Glynn was professional, polite, and did a great job explaining his work. His recommendations of parts and labor made sense and he completed the work efficiently. I look forward to working with Sam and Vander Hyde in the future.
We were pleased when we phoned that our AC was out that they had someone here the very next morning bright and early. Westley was great and professional. He explained the problems and solutions and got us back up and running in a couple of hours! They replaced a water heater for us last year too and they are the best!
Unfortunately we had to have a new boiler installed a few days ago. The good news is that the process was smooth and painless. From the initial diagnostic to the installation, the VanderHyde crew was great. There were absolutely no issues at all. Thank you to Jeff, Rachel, Anthony and your assistants for a job well done! A few weeks later when a pipe, behind the drywall broke, the same crew returned for a repair and did an excellent job. They were quick to respond, courteous, and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend working with Vander Hyde!!!!
Jayson and his team of Jeremy, Scott, and Kyle did an excellent job servicing my home over a four day period. They demonstrated a high level of focus, effort, and skill while doing their jobs. Very friendly and customer focused! Thanks 👍It was GREAT seeing Jeff again. Jeff provided a 5/5 level of professionalism and service. Much appreciated! 👍🙂🇺🇸
I had extensive upgrades with electrical. plumbing, heat and air and was totally pleased with the the services preformed by the technicians that were sent!!! The young men were all so courteous and very competent plus took the time to explain any questions I had. I definitely would recommend Vander Hyde and certainly will use them for any future issues that might arise. For now I can only sincerely thank Kyle and Brian (electrical), Jacob (plumbing), and Antonio, Keegan and Brandon (heating and ac). They are such assets to the company and well represent Vander Hyde.Thank you, Andrea
Dustin and Jess politely wore shoe covers to enter our house. We had a broken water heater and Dustin was up front and honest about the price and timeline. We felt completely confident in their knowledge and experience, we felt like we were in good hands. In less than 3 hours we had a new working unit! We won’t go anywhere else in the future.
Ive used Vander Hyde for about 18 years. They have installed heating and air conditioning, water heater, and done maintenance. Today they installed a new furnace. Antonio and his assistant were very considerate, competent, efficient, and did a great job . I was able to come and go from the house all day and they just did their job. A couple times I heard them laughing and singing so they were fun to have around. Im always confident when I use this company.
It turns out my issue was with consumers energy. However, these wonderful technicians stayed with me on the phone to explain to two consumer energy reps about how the issue wasnt something with my house, exactly what the issue was, and what needed to be done to fix it. I told them they could leave (I didnt want to infringe on their holiday weekend!) But James insisted on staying to make sure I was going to be set before he and his coworker left. I got an appointment right away when I called, and I will be utilizing them again whenever I need electrical done. Great communication, honest guys, I feel like they helped me as if they were my big brother.
They were 30 minutes late and charged me over $750.00 for an hour of work. The quality seems good, the team was great but the price was very high due to my place being a mobile home. I would not recommend them to my neighbors but they did come highly recommended by a friend.
Dionis Bugari was amazing! He was the cleanest, neatest man I ever met. Fixed the furnace quickly, explained everything and cleaned up after himself, including putting away my shop vac neater than I would have. The guy even folded the towel he used to dry his hands and hung it up. I will only use VanderHyde because of Dionis.
Westley came out as my furnace decided to turn itself into an air conditioner. I has previously had Bellaire out the day before and they discovered 2 cracks in the heat exchange. Westley was kind, professional and explained everything where my Aunt could understand. Upon removal of the heat exchange we discovered that Belleair missed missed more cracks.I will be bringing all of our rental properties here with service. I cannot begin to say enough about this company. Fully transparent and upfront with all pricing. Had issue fixed within 4 hours.
* Feb 2014 Out standing service. Our furnace died in mid Feb in the middle of the night, We gave Vander Hyde a call first thing in the morning and they came right over he even brought space heaters so we could stay warm. We ordered our new furnace that day and the next day they were here to install it. We also bought a new hot water heater and that was installed when the furnace was done. Very clean and efficient job, I highly recommend them.* July of 2018 our air conditioner died, it was hot out and we were the last stop of the day for Scott Veeneman, It was getting late and he stayed until the job was done and the air conditioner was up and running. He was very neat and cleaned up everything and left no mess behind. Very happy with Scott and a job well done.* March 2019. Our furnace in our seasonal mobile home quit working. Jeff Godwin came out, took a look and was able to fix the furnace by replacing the thermocouple. He explained everything he was doing and how our old furnace worked in the mobile home. He is nice and very easy to talk to, He really knows what he is doing and you can tell he likes his job.* Jan. 2022 Our Furnace was not kicking on, I called and they sent Westley Spielmaker, within the hour he was at our house. Westley had our furnace up and running in a half hour. He is a very nice person and knows what he is doing.
Called VanderHyde over the weekend as my water heater was leaking. They scheduled an appointment for Monday. Anthony showed up at 2pm as scheduled and replaced my water heater quickly and efficiently. Great pricing as well. Overall great experience and will be contacting them for any repairs needed in the future.
Jacob did a decent job for what he could do. He replaced the refill valve in the toilet, but only could replace half of it because of the type of the toilet. Seems like a rebuild of the lower half is needed to get rid of noise. Not going to happen soon. As long as it keeps working its going to have to do.
Karl was courteous and professional and got the job done in just over an hour. I was not anticipating a $400 charge for an hours work and little to no materials. I was thinking more in the $200 range. Is inflation hitting the electrical services to this extent? I think this should be explained more on the front end.
After having a company come and fix my central air unit 3 different times, I called Vander Hyde and the tech was Wesley who came, after hours and fixed what the other company did wrong all within an hr. So very great full with the hot weather coming he was able to fix it right for me! Definitely would recommend this company.
Just had a new water heater installed and it was very last minute and our utility room was a bit of a disaster. The guy who did the job from Vander Hyde put everything that was strewn about (carseats, totes, bags of kids clothes, holiday decor, you name it!) neatly on the storage shelves and basically reorganized the room for me 😄 Super friendly, professional, organized and would highly recommend!
No problem scheduling for the check up. Received a text the day before to remind me of my appointment and to confirm. Received phone call the morning of my appointment to let me know that the tech was on his way. Tech was on time, polite and wore a mask. I’ve been pleased with Vander Hyde since the first time Matt came over and did our estimate. When the units were installed we even invited the install tech for dinner. He worked hard all day and joined us for dinner. Very happy with this company.
Dustin and Jake arrived earlier than we had scheduled for, which was great! Courteous, professional, and listened to any concerns we had. Dustin even found and repaired a leak in our laundry area we didn’t know was there! I will definitely be recommending VanderHyde to family and friends.
Vander Hyde has always been our service provider for more than 20 years. They are always professional on the phone and their service agents are always on time, thorough with the inspection of the issue, give details of what the issue is and ways to resolve it without pressure. Westly in particular was polite, informative and fast in the resolution. I appreciate good service. We will always go back to Vander Hyde.
My 3 year old had gotten one of his floating Hotwheels stuck in the toilet. Jacob was very professional when he showed up. Unfortunately due to the location of the toy, they tried every means possible to save toilet but Unfortunately were not able. They did take old toilet and offered new toilet but we could not afford that too so we will get the toilet ourselves. I will recommend them for business to anyone who needs anything done....VanderHyde is very prompt and very professional...thank you again, even though the outcome was not what we expected.
Kyle Slater-Bakh and his associate Jackson installed a Generac backup generator at our home yesterday. They arrived on time and worked long and hard all day. Kyle helped me understand the process and what and why they were doing at the very beginning. They were very patience with my many questions and I felt comfortable with the whole process. Kyle and Jackson found a way to install the appliance without having to cut access holes in our basement bathroom ceiling. I had been advised about the possibility of this in advance by the estimator and was very happy when they found a better way. I am very happy with the result give them the highest review I can.
Dustin came to inspect my water system, as I thought I had a water pressure issue for my outdoor water. There was a determination that there was no real issue (outside of how long the water needs to travel to get outside). He did not try to sell me anything and have me waste my money. He was honest and easy to talk with. Very happy with the service.
Not long after moving into our new home, we discovered there were issues with the boiler heating system. Kevin VanderHyde came out quickly and ended up spending a lot of time with us explaining things we didn’t know about the system and some other helpful info about the house. Clearly the system needed replacing, but he made some adjustments so that we could get the last of the life out of it. Two years later we knew we wouldn’t make it another winter and I remembered the great service from Kevin, so I called him to quote a new combination boiler and water heater system. It was a pretty huge job, requiring not just labor but advanced skill. A couple weeks later Anthony and Jake spent three days installing the new system. They were extremely courteous, organized, and communicative throughout the process. I felt really comfortable having them in my home and around my children. They walked me through everything they did and how the system works and told me to call anytime if I needed help making any adjustments. I’m looking forward to having endless hot water and really consistent heat while my energy bills go way down due to the new high tech efficiency. This was a really big investment and their price may not be the very cheapest, but you absolutely get what you pay for. They are also not the most expensive by a long shot either- this same system could go for a much higher price by companies that are not as experienced and established - which I was happy to find out when I was reading other reviews. This company is skilled and trustworthy.
I had a technician come out to my house to service my furnace because it wasnt running. After doing some diagnostic work, he came to the conclusion that I needed roughly $1,800 in parts and that didnt even include labor. I decided to get a second opinion because that is a lot of money. The second technician came out and discovered what the problem was in less than five minutes. My gas valve wasnt set correctly and just needed to be adjusted. I have called this company twice to speak with someone and each time I was just transferred to a voicemail. This company let me down majorly and left me without heat because their technician isnt properly trained.
Wesley was able to come by on scheduled which worked out perfect for me. He was very polite and professional, provided all the necessary maintenance tasks in a timely manner and explained everything he had performed. The cost, as always, was reasonable and the comfort knowing my furnace is performing as it should be is priceless.
We converted our home from propane to natural gas. This involved constructing piping from the meter bracket to the gas system, rejetting 6 appliances, disconnecting thr propane service and working with DTE on the conversion. A full 2 day effort. We are incredibly happy and relieved that all went without a hitch. Very conscientious and professional. Will gladly recommend to others.
I had some circuits added to my electrical panel as well as switches & outlets through out the house. Eric and the technicians (Steve and Dave) were very helpful and professional. They worked with my tight timeline well and the quality of the work was good as well as at a fair price.
We called Vander Hyde as a first time customer with a couple of electrical questions. The representative said that they could send out a technician for a fee of $89. I asked for an explanation of all that included and she said that that fee was for him to diagnose the potential issues and then once those were determined we would discuss the fee to resolve the issues. Understanding that electrical work is a little more complex then some of the other services Vander Hyde offers we agreed to pay the $89 to at least have a professional evaluate and provide a solution. Our technician was Kevin, he arrived on time and was nice, however he didnt appear to be well versed at electrical work. He looked at our breaker box, touched some wires, moved our washer and dryer, said multiple times nothing looks wrong to him, touched the same wires again, moved our washer and dryer again, said nothing appeared to be wrong, called the master multiple times with no answer and finally once again said nothing appeared to be wrong. After a lengthy time spent on one of our concerns he asked to see the other which was an outlet that wasnt working after we had replaced it. He pulled all the outlets out and determined one of the outlets that was working was actually stopping the electricity from getting to the outlet that wasnt. He then asked if I wanted to have him replace the outlet and I asked the price and he stated it would be $183 to replace an outlet. I declined as that price seemed extremely high and we can change the outlet ourselves. He then continued to ask me if I wanted him to change it and I continued to decline multiple times. After the final decline he asked if I wanted him to put the outlet covers back on which of course I did. Then he asked if he should go back downstairs and put the cover on the breaker box which of course he should, my thought was you should leave my house the way you found it. Finally, after multiple trips throughout the home, several of the same conversation with, in my opinion, no real resolution he showed me his ipad and said my total was $265. The first charge was $7 for him to wear his PPE which seemed confusing for me as he was wearing his own personal mask so I asked him to remove that charge. The second charge was for the agreed upon $89 for the visit and for his to diagnose the issue. The last two charges were for $88 each and that was for the time he spent in my home. I expressed my deep concern with the charge and how the time spent was of no value to us. He then said that this is how Vander Hyde charges, that a lot customers complain about the pricing and that he drove an hour to my home and doesnt receive any compensation for that drive time. I paid the bill and called customer service and was sent to the owners daughters voicemail. The next day her customer service manager called me. Said that Kevin is versed in commercial electrical and not residential and that they would refund a portion of my fee, which is appreciated but still extremely unfortunate to pay such a high price for what felt like a waste of time.
We ordered a full house 24k generator in November 2020 and paid $5500 (half) upfront. was told at that time it would be shipped in April/May 2021 and installed 3-4 weeks after they recv. the generator. When April rolled around I checked on the progress and was told the generator would be delayed a month . Was told this in May and June also and there was nothing they could do as manufacturer could not produce fast enough. i had landscapers hired to finish after install. Now i only live 2 miles from their office instead of calling to check status i would go there. After being told it would now be July, I asked how they would like it if i took 8 months to pay them. I received an email shortly after informing me because of my frequent visits to the office and threatening to not pay they were refunding my money (minus 8 months interest) and cancelling my order. Basically fired me as a customer. I guess customers have no right to complain or question their business.
Tony Vander Hyde was very courteous and professional during the entire process of removing my old HWH and replacing it with a new one. He took the necessary time to answer any questions I had as well as explaining the updated features on my new HWH. Upon my request Tony also took the time to give me an estimate on some additional plumbing work Ill be needing in the future. And it will likely be Vander Hyde Service Ill be going with again because of their great service.
Groupon savings easy to use. Scheduling quick & convenient. Excellent service.Office staff always friendly and helpful. Dion very efficient & knowledgeable. Appreciated his patience.Today, 6/26/21, Anthony was a life saver & more importantly, a sanity saver! He showed up when I thought no one could come until tomorrow. He quickly found the problem & fixed it. He was supportive & kind. He was knowledgeable & professional. Thanks again, VanderHyde office staff, for listening & caring. God bless & keep you all🙏🏻Today, 6/27/22, Sam came for routine maintenance of AC, purchased thru Groupon (great deal)& to install new see-thru drain for AC to hopefully prevent the flood in my basement from yesterday. San was friendly, knowledgeable & professional. After he installed the part he showed me how to clean it out & what to watch for.I was a bit shocked at the price of the part & a little frustrated that cleaning out that drain hadn’t been part of maintenance previously, as this flooding seems to a frequent occurrence due to build up of debris that blocks the drain. My grandson & I spent at least a couple hours, sopping up water, cutting up wet carpet & hauling the ruined carpet outside. Don’t know yet if it will need to be replaced.I realize VanderHyde isn’t responsible for the design of the AC drain but a heads up to customers before a flood happens might be appropriate. Glad the see-thru drain is now in place & I was told cleaning of it will b included in future maintenance calls. I also will b keeping a close eye on it!1/5/2022Sam here to do furnace maintenance. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Appreciate keeping appt on such a blustery snowy day. Keep up the good work Vanderhyde!
Wow just wow. We just paid131.00 for a service call only to be told that an single outlet installation would be $635.00. Incredible! when there was an outlet on the other side of the same wall same location that we wanted it placed. So electricity was already there!!!! We subsequently had it done and it was $51.00. I have used them for all our plumbing & electrical for the 6 years i have owned this house but never again. I guess what really busts my chops is that I had two outdoor waterfaucets replaced three weeks before this other service call, to a tune of 600.00 Each!!! Because I trusted them i didnt get a second opinion. They left a gaping hole in the basement ceiling for me to repair but didnt leave the square of drywall that they cut out so at least i could patch it. Who does this???? And they had to come back out because the faucet leaked!!! So no I wont be using them again especially when I called to express my displeasure absolutely no call back by management. The one bright part of this company is Rachel answering the phones. Very pleasant and professional.
After discovering our furnace was not working and the house was 43 degrees we called emergency services at 5:47 am. The customer service representative was most unhelpful and uninformative. My husband and I were trying to formulate a plan considering it was -5° outside in our house he was continuing to drop. She informed me that all she does is take the calls and someone will call me sometime after six. Sometime after six is an extremely large window so I inquired about more information and she became very short and hostile. Perhaps she was just doing her job and that was all the information she had but in an emergency situation I would expect better customer care. Regardless, when Wesley arrived he was helpful, informative, patient, and professional. He did an excellent job in a timely manner. I was very pleased with the service.
Called on a Friday afternoon to ask about getting my water heater replaced. The person on the phone reviewed quotes with me and scheduled me for Monday morning. My technician was prompt, professional and very helpful. Work comes with a one year warranty and tank a six year warranty. I will definitely recommend to others!
Not only did I get same day service for my drain pipe backing up, but Dustin was great! When there looked to be a collapse, he called in help to get a camera in there and get the issue found and resolved. The service was excellent, he was very communicative and the job was done promptly.
I had a new furnace installed today by Vander Hyde Service. The service was great, the technicians arrived early and were very professional. I was very impressed by how efficiently they worked considering the amount of room they had in the mechanical room. The furnace works great, they left everything very clean. I would highly recommend Vander Hyde for any mechanical or plumbing work. Scott V. was very knowledgeable, professional and was in and out within a few hours. It was no inconvenience at all.
Wes was very courteous, and punctual. He was extremely knowledgeable regarding the task at hand. He took time to explain each step with pictures and concerns. He is well spoken and communication skills were refreshing. My only hope is that the next time I need your services, Wes will be at my door. Thank you!
The technicians just came out today so I haven’t had the work done yet. But I will say this is an extremely professional yet down to earth company. I had 4 techs come out today to cover a long list of projects. Super impressed and I can’t wait to get the bids and schedule the work.
Vanderhyde seemed fine but expensive until I got a second opinion from another HVAC company in town. VanderHyde was about 3x the price for the same work and told me to do work that there other company said was not necessary. I also called the equipment manufacturer, who said the pricing seemed very high. Call this company if you dont like money. I feel bad for all the customers that dont know better.
Had an emergency situation. Water leaked before the first shut-off valve, and the basement was very wet. Vander Hyde came in about 1.5 hours and fixed the problem. Professional. On time. Cost was a little more than I anticipated, but they did a good job. Would use them again if necessary.
So long and short of it. They repaired an installation under warranty and righted some things. New and very experienced technicians came to do the work. They were knowledgeable and worked to fix our issues. Steve and Steven were professional and quickly addressed the problem. Within two days of calling Vander Hyde my HVAC has been taken care of.
From our salesperson, Jacob, to our installers, Jason, Jay and Jackson, we were very pleased with the professional team we had install our Generac generator. They were patient with my questions and concerns, and got the job done quickly on a very cold December day. Would highly recommend their services!Update August 12, 2021: Generator still running great! Had Jon and Scott come to tighten fittings since its been running for 2 days straight. Came out same day and took care of everything. Great for my peace of mind! Great job guys! Thank you so much!!!
Had a new heating and ac system installed by them about a year and a half ago, have had problems with it from the beginning. This has to be the 4th or 5th trip to my house to repair a system I paid over $11,000 for. The tech that came out today was very friendly, he got here when he said he would so Im happy with him but not at all happy with the company or my purchase
Absolutely fantastic customer service. We were looking to get our electric done in March but due to the Covid situation everything was put on hold. We didn’t put a down payment to secure our spot, so it was a great surprise when they called us early June to ask if we still wanted to get the work done. They had a scheduled day already planned for us within 3 weeks if we were still interested. For the work we wanted done, we got quoted by three companies. Vander Hyde came in extremely lower than Service Professor and slightly higher than Butler Electric. However, due to Vander Hyde’s great customer service and prompt responsiveness that sealed the deal on who to go with. Would recommend to anyone!
I called Vander Hyde after finding them online. The hydrant in my barn was not getting water. I was told that there would be a $70 fee for showing up. There was also then a $79 diagnostic fee before anything was done. This is not rolled into the cost of any repair. I was quoted $500 to replace a valve controlling the water to the barn. I was hesitant to pay that much as I only use that water for my garden and had another water source I could use. The plumber said they would do it for $455. I asked if it could be anything else as I wanted to make sure that if I paid this much that I would have water. I was assured that this was the issue. Since I was already in for $150 I agreed to pay the $455. The valve was replaced in about 15 minutes and we turned the water back on. There was still no water out to my barn. This was the first time that the Vander Hyde employee looked in the barn to see where the water was going. At that point he stated that he believed it to be the hydrant in the barn. The quoted repair for that was in excess of $1000. In all, I paid $455 to have a valve replaced that I am not convinced needed to be replaced and I still don’t have water. The plumber did follow up with me a few days later and I asked if they would be willing to waive the $80 diagnostic fee as the problem was not diagnosed. He stated he would talk to his boss. I have not heard back from them. The plumber did state that he did not charge me a second diagnostic fee for looking at the hydrant in the barn. Not a great experience.
Everybody at Vander Hyde has been exceptional. All of our phone calls were answered and / or returned quickly. The techs all showed up for the repairs (even over the 4th of July) and ultimately the replacement of our AC unit as they said they would. Everyone was so nice and friendly. The techs worked hard until the jobs were complete! Helping us keep our AirBNB up and running without having to cancel any bookings was huge. We are very grateful and highly recommend Vander Hyde! Thank you!
Our home boiler was having issues, we called Vander Hyde. They had done some work for us a couple years ago, and after doing a great job we decided to call them again. I had a pleasant conversation with Rachel V to schedule a service appointment. She was clear, concise, friendly and gave me all the information needed. She gave us a time window of two hours for the appointment. Jeff G called us to confirm he was coming and was right on time. He diagnosed the issue, put a plan in place to get it fixed, and my wife felt very comfortable during the whole process. He was polite, professional and prompt - which we both appreciate. We still have to receive the part and get it installed, but so far Vander Hyde has provided an exceptional customer experience for us.
Very professional and knowledgeable serviceman. Anthony was very thorough and explained, in detail, the issues with our Viessmann boiler system. He found problems with the installation of the system from the beginning (unit not leveled and exhaust piping set up was leading to moisture problems in the heat exchanger). We had this unit serviced the last few years by another company and they never saw what was possibly causing the heat exchanger problems. I am glad we called Vander Hyde this year.Anthony knows Viessmann boilers very well and I would say anyone that needs service or repairs on these systems should call on Vander Hyde Boiler Services.A five star experience,
We used Vanderhyde plumbing recently to replace our broken water heater. Actually, we called them to have two problems addressed, our broken water heater and a sink that was backing up and leaking down a pipe into our basement. The quote we got for our water heater was much more than expected, about $2200. A price I was willing to pay because we were in a pinch and needed hot water. However, while installing the water heater, the plumber had to call their electrician. He tried to charge us $380 to replace an outlet! $40 part and 5 minute job. He bumped the price down to $120 only because we complained. Then, after the water heater was installed, we lost water pressure in our kitchen sink. We were warned this might happen, but the plumber was going to charge another $200 to fix it. We said no and fixed the problem ourselves in about 30 minutes with some baking soda and vinegar. And the sink that was backing up and leaking in the basement? He wasn’t even going to look at it. He told me it would have to be another service call...another charge. I turned the sink on to show him what was going on. He barely looked at it and gave me an invoice that it would cost $900 to repair and tear apart the bathroom wall (not including repair of the wall). Again we said no and after some advice from some friends, cautiously tried Draino. It worked. Problem fixed with some Draino when Vanderhyde would have charged us $900.This company way overcharges for its services. I will never use Vanderhyde for anything again.
Jeff our technician turned my cold MI day into a warm one with his chipper attitude. His level of customer service was above and beyond what I expected. He called in advance to let me know his time of arrival, introduced himself and shared his experience level so I knew I was in the good hands. Jeff also took the time to explain to me my heating system and proper maintenance as this is a new home for us. My experience with Jeff and Vander Hyde was stellar. Thank you to you and your team, I will be sure to tell my circle of my great experiences! Shauna*
I can’t recommend Vander Hyde for electrical work. While they are very responsive and the electricians that showed up were professional and courteous, the business model seems somewhat… wrong. They do charge up front just to show up, as well as a diagnostic fee – both things I knew about before scheduling them, but I was in a panic being a first-time homeowner. Once the shock of a massive quote for new electrical service (meter socket, panel upgrade, etc) wore off, I wised up and called another local electrical company, who ended up quoting the same job for nearly 35% less. They also didn’t charge a fee just to show up and quote a job.If you are still sold on going with Vander Hyde, expect to pay $130 just to have someone quote a job. I would highly recommend calling someone else for electrical work.
Jacob was very courteous and worked quickly to diagnose my issue. After investigating, he made suggestions on additional things they could attempt, but didnt try to upsell (and even suggested they were likely unnecessary).Have used Vander Hyde before, and will continue to do so.
I was able to call Vanderhyde to respond to a letter from The City of Grand Haven on a upgrade to my buildings water overflow system. They were accommodating to my schedule needs and allowed me to pay remotely. I am very satisfied with their service and how accommodating they are to my needs. I would highly recommend them.
I called Vanderhyde first thing this morning for a clogged drain. They scheduled a same day appointment. Our technician Dustin is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable !!! He has been out to our home twice within the last year. Once to replace our sub pump and just today to unclog a drain. He is very kind and explains everything thoroughly. I highly recommend Dustin and Vanderhyde.
Upon initial phone call with Rachel reviewed what was going on with commercial freezer unit. Discussed costs and expectations for service.Kyle showed up and was professional and punctual. Worked the problem but was at the end was not confident that he fixed the problem. He stated that the invoice needed to be paid that day, January 5, 2021. I paid. Requesting a copy of the invoice be provided.January 8, the freezer unit failed. I reached out on Monday, January 11th at which point Kyle was scheduled to come between 1 and 3pm that day. Kyle called and asked if it would be alright to send Jared, a more specialized technician in commercial freezers, but he wouldnt be able to come until Tuesday between 8a-10a. I agreed and received a text message confirming the appointment. At 10:30 on Tuesday the 12th I called and spoke with Rachel again. She stated that the appointment was scheduled between 1 & 3p for that day. Jared was able to make it around 12 noon. When he arrived I asked if he would be able to help me get a copy of the invoice from the 5th. After a few hours, Jared was able to diagnose that the unit would be very costly to repair. Jared is professional, knowledgeable, and thorough - much appreciated.Heres where the experience goes south quickly. I asked for a detail of the invoice of what was charged and the work that was performed on the 5th. It took a week. Prior to fixing the unit on the 5th I asked for an estimate of the costs involved, never received one. Called to speak to Service Manager, Steve on January 14, no answer - voicemail was full was hung up on. Called back on Thursday, Rachel said that she would follow up with my concerns with Steve and call me back - she left a voicemail.I called back on Friday, January 15th again requesting to talk to Steve, again got his full voicemail and was hung up on. At this point It feels as though once they got their money they are done with you. And they wont stand behind their work. Terrible way to leave a new customer hanging. After reading the reviews, if you are a lucky one to have your issue fixed the first time then you are good. If you are one of the unlucky souls that it takes follow up visits, its not gonna be pretty.
The technician was professional but the service was not. Almost $200 just to show up and then another $100 for every 10 minutes in my house. $700 later I still have the same problem (no hot water) that I had before giving them so much money. I’m calling someone else to actually find and make the repair and not loose another $700 for nothing. Seriously not happy with this company.
We have been having intermittent wetness in our bathroom under the floor tiles. We could not locate any leak but Anthony thoroughly checked our home for damages and possible causes for the wetness weve been having in the bathroom. He found one possibility but because it would be an expensive repair he advised we keep an eye on it first.I was very worried to have a repair person over during covid-19 because I am very high risk for this disease, but he was professional and wore safety gear.Weve worked with Vander Hyde in the past and they will likely be our go to in the future.
Jeff Schaumann and Sam were top notch. Jeff was very thorough w/ his pre-diagnostic inspection going over every inch of my boiler, heater, pipes, electrical wiring. Once he figured out the problem he explained every detail and options to fix the issues I was having, breaking it down money wise what needed to be done and they got got the job done like the pros they are. I would for sure recommend Jeff and his crew and use them again..Mahalo nui for the great service 🤙🏾
Vander Hyde Service was incredible! They were able to fit our furnace repair in on the same day which was great because the temperature in the house was down to 54 degrees. The technicians were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend them for future business.
I have been extremely disappointed with my experience with Vander Hyde. I had a technician out to my house 33 days ago as of today, and not ONCE since then have they proactively reached out to me to discuss my pending repair. I have contacted them 6 times to get an update, and every time they said that they would contact the technician and the manufacturer and get back to me within a few hours. They never did. I would give them two days before calling back, but I had to restart the conversation EVERY TIME. I finally told them to forget about it, tell me the part that I needed, and I would take my business elsewhere. All this was after spending $230 for them to diagnose the issue with my equipment. Ill never use them again.
Had a no heat problem with our York furnace. Jeff Godwin was the tech assigned to our home and it did not take him long to find the problem. He did not have the correct part on his truck, so we needed to schedule a second day/time for the actual repair. Rachel scheduled us for a Friday and Jeff changed the part out and now the furnace works great. Jeff was friendly, professional and really knew what he was doing regarding the repairs. Price was fair, I do not expect anyone to work for free because I did not during my work career.Overall, a good experience.
I had a very poor experience. We were quoted $79 for an electrician to look at the job we wanted (put in ceiling fan) and make estimate. They charged me $174 for that visit and said I was misquoted. They offered to take the extra off cost of job. We found after that that this is a common thing that people report in other reviews.I have a few other things I wanted to mention. Two technicians came to the house. I was only told thered be one and prefer to limit visitors to the home right now. The younger one asked if they should wear masks. With other companies weve worked with now its automatic and I find that respectful. Id already told them we have a brand new baby at home. Other companies have also worn shoe covers whereas Matt tracked in a lot of dirt that I had to vacuum after. I had to prompt him to suggest ways the job could be done and prompt him for estimates even though thats why he was there. I asked for an emailed estimate that was never sent. He made them on an iPad so Im unsure if theres even a written copy. This doesnt seem like an upfront business practice anymore and I wouldnt hire a company that didnt give me a written estimate. I had to prompt him to tell me it wouldnt include drywall repair. For all of these reasons we wont be using this company. Before I posted this review I contacted the company with my concerns and did not hear back for more than 72 hours.
The service we received from Kyle was superb & very professional. We appreciated his time of explaining what he was doing to us non-plumber people. He was very friendly, efficient and a job well done. We look forward to working with Vander Hyde Mechanical in the near future with our other household projects. Thank you Scott & Carol
Kyle and Brenden showed up on time and were very courteous and professional. They explained clearly and in layman’s terms what my problem was and they could provide the a solution to fix it and the time it would take. They cleaned up after they completed the job and I couldn’t be more happy with the result. Would recommend this company to anyone looking for HVAC or Plumbing services. They were at my house in less than 24hrs after I called. Great job!
Vander Hyde Plumbing Department is wonderful! Scheduling the appointment was quick and easy. They sent a reminder and called the morning they came for service. Kyle Koepke was friendly and efficient ... he fixed my plumbing issue in no time and I barely knew he was in the house! I would recommend Vander Hyde and will use them again.
Called because some light fixtures were not working. It took 2 visits. After the first visit the guys were not able to find the problem. I had told them I thought the problem was underneath the home but it was raining and they wanted to avoid going under the home. Was told that they were now sending a master electrician. He found the problem underneath the home and fixed it. He showed me on his tablet that I would be refunded for the 1st day as nothing was resolved and for my inconvenience. However, not only did they not refund the first day,, I was charged nearly $1,000. I was shocked and disappointed! After calling to find out why I hadnt received my refund like the man told me I would, I finally received a call from a man named Eric. We talked for quite a while and he told me he was going to make this right! He would call in 1 to 2 days and let me know. He NEVER called back. I never expected to anything free, or to not pay for the service. I only expected it to be fair. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!
I’m Not one to Review Businesses, but unfortunately I’ve got to the Point where If I feel I’ve Received very Poor Service, that I will make it Known.Had Our 2015 Furnace Tuned up Thursday at 4pm. Figured a Tune Up is a Tune Up. Check it all out, make sure No Loose Wires Etc.As of this Morning, Saturday at 2:30am, My Furnace is Now Not Running. Mind you, 3 Years, Zero Issues, Not One problem with our HVAC System, but wanted to make sure all was in Working Order.Placed a Call this morning and was Told that they would charge me the $225 Service Call Fee no matter what, and that it was only a “Visual” Tune Up...not the Comprehensive Tune Up.Impressive to Say the Least. I’m pretty sure anyone could Stand In Front of A Furnace and say it looks good, and then Charge $97.00.Needless to say, I understand that it very well could be an issue went wrong after the Tune Up. “Coincidentally” just happens 24 Hours later...hard to believe.Won’t Use them Again and They don’t care. They don’t care if you’re a customer or Not. Money Grab 100%.
Eric gave me information regarding the regulations for placing a generator. He then recommended a space that will be nest for the relocation of my generator. He was very friendly and looked out for me. He contacted a Board member to join us in viewing the decision. Although the board member said I did not have to send a written report, Eric recommended I do it. to prevent any other problems. He stated the company will contact me for an appointment to do the work. I was very pleased with his visit.
Jason and his coworker were outstanding. They were not interruptive to our business while they were working on the install of our Generator. They were a Pleasure to work with. I Highly recommend using Vander Hyde Services. From the start of the Process the to end product just outstanding. Ryan the estimator to Jason the installer just the BEST service anyone could ask for. We at CMP Thank you for your Outstanding Service.
The people at VanderHyde are absolutely amazing. I called them on Monday with furnace problems, Randy their salesman came out that day and gave me a quote on a new furnace. And then on Tuesday they installed a new one already for me. Their installer(Chris ) that installed my new furnace was great. Very friendly. I would highly recommend them!!
Jackson and his work partner were clean, friendly, on time (big plus with me), and knowledgeable. They fixed some reverse polarity on a line, and found a switch that went to nothing, but had live wire going to it. They installed some missing GFI outlets.I definitely would recommend Vander Hyde Electrical Dept and especially Jackson and his partner.
Finally found a trustworthy company who doesnt try to sell me a new plumbing system when all I needed was to learn which valve not to touch! And the Hvac guy tuned up my furnace without trying to sell me a new one. Now I feel like I can trust them when they give me an estimate or recommendation. They were courteous, efficient and took care of everything I needed. I highly recommend them!
Ordered a generator in November and still not here in In June and not expected for several more weeks. Obviously we are not happy but since we complained, they cancelled our order. Theyve had over $5 grand for 8 months now and that doesnt matter. No way to run a business - and they can get away with it now because business is great but that wont always be the case. There are other places to buy a generator.
Rachel was very good about keeping me updated on arrival time for the parts I ordered and very pleasant to work with. She also called me when the crew got freed up early and sent them to my home DAYS AHEAD of schedule because she knew we were headed out of town.Alex and Jackson arrived at our home and quickly assessed the problem and had the parts ON THE TRUCK that I needed. They were also very cordial, even though they were working outside in the rain, and got my system back up and running.
Matt was great to work with as we explored options to replace our furnace and AC. He was by far the best sales person of those we considered and we were also very pleased with the way he tailored the system to our home and the needs we expressed. The installation was done very soon after we made our decision and was done with professionalism and care. We highly recommend Vander Hyde!
Vanderhyde prides themselves in great service at a great price. Whenever I have an issue or need a tune-up, theyre always there. Wesley did a great job with the air conditioning tune up, and caught a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. I recommend Vanderhyde to all my friends and family.
I have a modern boiler and hot water heater integrated system. Jeff has been working with our heating system for the last 2 years. I have had a chance to meet and see him in action. We have been having expensive problems with heat shields in the combustion chamber (firebox) disintegrating when they are supposed to last the life of the boiler. This has not made me very happy with VanderHyde as a company - as they recommended and installed the boiler but have yet to install a permanent fix to a system problem. Jeff Schumann has been the first annual maintenance tech that told me today that there were no problems with the boiler but that it was in need of the annual maintenance. No mandatory expensive problem to fix this year.He suggested a more permanent fix to the problem that he also suggested last year when I asked him about it. I am hoping we can make this work this year.
Our AC unit died on Friday June 8th. I went through the motions and called 3 companies for estimates. I called Vander Hyde on 6/11, they came out to provide me with a quote on 6/12, and after we agreed on a price I have a new AC unit installed today 6/13. Their salesperson Matt showed me several options and allowed me to make the decision. Their install team was prompt, courteous, friendly, and best of all fast. I would highly recommend Vander Hyde to other GR residents.Update: 6/29/17We had our water heater installed today. The tech was friendly and easy to talk to and the installation took less than two hours to complete which is exactly what we were hoping for. I would still recommend Vander Hyde over other service companies for GR residents.
We have had them out twice now. The first time was for Jayson Schultz to do some electrical work on a house we were selling. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. They did amazing work. Today I had a quote for a generator from Ryan Hyde. He walked me through it very professionally. He also told me about two things to find out from the VanderHyde plumber we have coming out this afternoon to fix two issues. One of those two would save us a lot of money in protecting our basement from water damage. The company is top notch.
As usual Vander Hyde was prompt, professional & friendly when our furnace quit during the recent cold weather. Thomas provided an explanation about the unit that will replace the old one, gave us a quote that took into consideration we also had a new air conditioning unit installed by them this year and told about a discount we might be eligible to receive. Although they were booked up for installation this week they did manage to find a slot to fit us in for installation Thursday. Every employee has provided exceptional service. They will remain our “go to” for heating & cooling needs.
I was recently in Grand Rapids when my parents had a power outage. We called Vander Hyde Service änd were amazed at how quickly they responded to our call. A gentleman named Eric showed up and went through everything, he took time with my parents who are in their mid-80s explaining all the options. I was very impressed by this young man as he listened respected and cared for my parents. I would highly recommend this company..
Vander Hyde Heating and Cooling in Grand Rapids has been my HVAC company for 16 years. Fast to respond, helpful, professional, and friendly these folks have been there for several heating emergencies and equipment repair and upgrades. When priced out with other contractors and researched on the internet, their bids come in at the fair pricing for comparative work, equipment, and time. Ive found others that are a little bit cheaper, but without the service history, experience, and ratings. The service professionals are very considerate about my home and making any mess. They also are welcoming to questions and concerns before and during repairs. The repairs Vander Hyde has completed have been: repair to a fan unit on an older furnace, installation of an upgrade to a high efficiency gas furnace, repairs to an older model AC unit, upgrade to a heat pump and its installation, maintenance of existing electrical panel, and upgrade of breakers and electrical wiring needed for equipment upgrades. I cant express enough how appreciative I am of this company and their workers. I highly recommend.
Both gentlemen were respectful, professional, and personable. They came in, got the job done, answered any questions. We will no longer use anyone else for our needs. I like that I got a text message with a picture of who was coming before they arrived. Vander Hyde truly cares about their customers.
Very professional company. Scheduled an appointment to get a quote for a whole house generator. They send email and text reminders for appointment times. Ryan Hyde was very professional and answered every question that I had. He really knows his stuff! He sat down with me and went over the quote line by line which made me feel extremely comfortable with the process. He did not try to up sell me on things I didnt need. We will be working with this company moving forward.
I have been using Vander Hyde for many years and while the tech who preforms the service may change from time to time I know that I can always depend on the same professional, friendly service every time. They always explain what they did and tell me about any parts they may have installed. when they leave I always feel confident that the work was properly completed and that they had cleaned up when they were finished.
On their first visit, Vanderhyde did a great job installing a garage heater. On their second visit, however, we did not have a good experience. We called them for one issue but they ended up recommending replacement of multiple items and the bill quickly racked up to nearly $700. That alone was understandable because these items probably needed to be fixed anyway. However, on top of that they also tried to sell us an expensive camera security system and also an air purification system. And after all that they didnt identify a major issue with one of the air conditioners even though they had looked it over. When we called them to address this, they were very understanding and sent out Matt, who did a great job at identifying the issue that had been missed and also gave us very fair pricing and was very friendly and understanding and made an extra effort to make things right for us.Overall I would say this is a really good company with good people that deserves your business.
Jeff came out today to check our furnace and air conditioning. They are both old and We needed accurate information to decide whether to go another year or replace them before winter. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. He gave us an accurate assessment of their current condition. He went above and beyond what I expected. I did not feel pressured to buy new units. We also met with Matt to discuss prices for new units. He gave us some options and explained everything to us. Again, we did not feel pressured to buy. We are impressed with Vanderhyde and will be definitely doing business with them.
Jeff was prompt, courteous, and informative at each stage of my furnace troubleshooting. He ultimately found the issue and quoted us a new part with install as well as a new furnace. The latter option was more cost effective for our old furnace. They even supplied us some space heaters while we waited. Ultimately we choose a different furnace brand and installer. We have used Vanderhyde in the past for our snow melt system in our driveway and know them to be wonderful with service and product. This time it just came down to availability of a different furnace and timing while we were without heat in winter. We will continue to consider them in our future projects.
Matt fixed our furnace and ac and did a great job! He diagnosed the issue in less than 10 mins and was able to order the part needed and had it fixed in no time!Matt is very professional and does great work!! Very pleased with Vander Hyde and would recommend them for sure!!

2022-03-21BOOM! Just wanted to share a review on our boiler system. For years weve had problems with it for the fact that it is old, and pretty much outdated. Everyone always suggested that we needed to buy a new one. Jeff came out and pretty much tore out all the lines, pipes and etc. He was very professional and very artistic on putting it back together. He had limited space and it was fun watching him work his magic putting everything back together like a puzzle. I would highly recommend him and the company.

2021-08-30We had original cast iron sewer pipes that were breaking down after over 60 years and needed to be replaced; we also needed some other minor plumbing work. We received an estimate from Bill at Vander Hyde, and arranged to have the work done. Jake and Jake worked on the project for just over one day. They did excellent work and cleanup (see attached photos). I needed one last-minute addition to the proposal specs, and Jake was flexible and got it done. Our sewer should be good for another 60 years. I recommend Vander Hydes quality work. We have used them for various plumbing tasks over the last 15 years.

2022-02-03Very nice man. He was polite and finished the job effectively. He was on time and I appreciate the service. Gary started on time and worked until almost 9:00PM. He did not stop until the boiler was in perfect condition he was always personable. I cannot tell you beautiful everything looks. Thank you for your help. It was worth every penny.

2022-01-20Jeff came out and took a look at our 50 year old boiler that we had plans to replace in the spring, he looked it over to verify everything was functioning and not dangerous. Then he advised that if we were planning to upgrade that we should wait to do any invasive maintenance as we should roll that cost into the new boiler. He saved us some money by being honest and upfront about the cost of the service and how we would be best suited to let it ride until spring.Jeff was great to work with.

2022-01-11Two technicians came this morning and did the annual generator tuneup/maintenance. They introduced themselves, and I think one was named Jacob. I appreciated that they phoned first to tell me that they were on the way. It was 12 degrees this morning, and they worked in the bitter cold. When they finished, they stopped to tell me what they had done, and explained to me the things I can do to keep an eye on the generator and help maintain it. I was very impressed with these two young men who were very patient and helpful. Thank you for sending such pleasant and qualified people.

2022-01-20Home stand by generator needed serviced. They covered general questions I should do and inspect about the generator for long term use. Performed all maintenance on the standby generator, and worked cleanly and made sure not leave trash, debris or anything behind. Even though they were there for the maintenance, I requested to have the generator panel checked and found I had open breakers, and wired additional breaks for the well and additional lights for the next time the power goes out that the home can continue functioning as nothing happened. Reasonable price for service call and parts, plus additional labor and materials.

2022-05-11I work for Bethany Christian Services in Kalamazoo and Thomas, the HVAC Tech is absolutely the best guy for the job here. He knows the system, and is here within a day to take care of any problems we may come across. I highly recommend Vander Hyde for all you needs, Plumbing VAC Electrical. We have never been disappointed,

2022-02-04I called on a Saturday morning. My call was directed to the person on call. I received a return call a short time later. Instead of making a trip to our home that would have been rather costly, I spent over one half hour talking out the issue with him. He asked numerous questions that helped me locate the source. The issue turned out to be unrelated to electrical issues. I couldnt be more pleased with the professional experience. Vander Hyde Service will have my business in the future.

2022-01-16Had a pipe burst during the night. Called Vander Hyde for an emergency repair. Dustin was here within an hour and had everything fixed in no time. He also answered a few questions and helped me locate some shut off valves that I didnt know where there. Dustin was very polite and professional. They are lucky to have such a great employee. Will defiantly use them again for any plumbing issues in the future.

2022-05-04Great work on our furnace replacement where they did the install and also fixed ducting issues in old system. The quote on our recent ac replacement was also clearly explained and various cost options were explored. Very happy in all interactions with vanderhyde.
