Went to get an oil change at the Walmart on Alpine in Comstock Park,Mi. I was told it would take 45 minutes. After nearly an hour I come back to see if my oil was changed only find out that my car wasnt touched yet. Another customer (Female) was getting her tires rotated she was there over 2 hours. Customer service in the auto department needs to do better than what I experienced today.
Quality of service is typically very good, but theyre SLOOOOOW. Four hour wait to do tires isnt uncommon. It was 2.5 hours today, to complete my oil change and pay for my car.Almost half an hour of that I was standing at the service counter waiting to pay, with my car finished and in the parking lot.Techs are friendly and knowledgeable, but dont go there if youre in a hurry.
Really friendly staff. I walked in and was immediately acknowledged. Oil change took about a standard 15 minutes and I was out. Perfect
They did a good job putting my new tire on the rim.
Purchased trailer tires on line and installed at the auto center. Best price around for a very good pair of tires. All went well. Knowledgeable techs and the counter staff was friendly. Install was quick. Will definitely check their prices in the future.
I made an appointment to get an oil change and they cancelled on me. The auto center is closed until they feel like opening it back up.
I called this location yesterday at 3 pm four hours before they close and asked if they had time for a tire change, they said they weren’t accepting anymore cars for the night and to come back in the morning, whatever, I come back in the morning and check in and I’m third in line to get my tire changed. They gave me a quote on two potential tires they have in stock for me. THREE HOURS LATER they have my car in the shop and come to find out they don’t have any tires available to fit my car. They seemed very understaffed for a busy location. I wouldn’t be upset if they had told me right away that they didn’t have a tire for me but I wasted 3 hours sitting in Walmart for no reason. The manager on duty was very friendly but I will definitely not return to this location.*edit* after my 3 hour wait with no work done to my car, I left. An hour later I get a call saying my car is finished?? Seems very unprofessional.

We had good service. We wanted to get our tires changed but asked us nicely to come back the next day because they were short on people.
Went in for an oil change and fluid check. Extremely busy, long wait upon return. Car was done but so many people at checkout counter. They werent able to check other fluids for various reasons. One excuse was that they didnt have the proper tool! Good price but I felt like I received half the service of other auto centers.
Good place with good mechanics and fair prices. My full synthetic oil change for my honda was only $42 here while usually quoted as $70 at other places. I also got a set of Douglas tires put on here. Much better price than my last yokohamas and similar ratings and drive feel.My only issue is I wish they took reservations. Each of the 3 times Ive been here there has been a long wait, over an hour each time. The manager was a great guy and very helpful, I just wish they got a little better at scheduling so visits could be a bit more efficient.
Let me start out by saying I have had amazing service at the Walmart Tire Center in Ionia, MI. I would not recommend the Alpine Ave location to anyone. Today is Labor day and I called to find out if they were open and if I needed to make an appointment. I sat on the phone through 2 cycles of the operator coming back on to repeatedly transfer me to the tire department because they would not answer the phone. When I finally spoke with someone they said they were open but getting busy. I brought my tire in and they asked if I was leaving my car. I literally said to them, No, I will just leave the tire and rim here and you can change it when its convenient for you. and they thanked me. They called me 3 hours later and told me the tire was done. When I went in to pay for it the guy working the counter rolls my tire around to the other side of the counter and says there you go. I asked arent you going to put it on my car? He said Oh. I will have to rewrite all of the paperwork and you will have to go to the bottom of the list, but we arent that busy so you should only have to wait 45 min. This was ridiculous. How do you buy a tire from a tire place and they dont put it on your car? And how does it take 45 minutes to put my tire on when it is a 4 minute job and there is one car in the bay and 4 guys standing there. And what I really want to know is how do I come in as a customer and offer to make things more convenient for them and they turn around and make my purchase completely inconvenient for me. This is definitely one of my worst purchase experiences ever. I will never bring my business here again and I would advise anyone else thinking of coming here, dont do it. I only gave this review one star because no stars was not an option.
Very poor customer service. I had to have my car towed and called ahead to get a price beforehand. I had the car towed and when I was waited on, was given a different price. Luckily, when I explained to Progressive, they allowed an additional tow at no cost to me. Its only $20, but its not the point. Learn to take care of your customers. Ive had problems with your customer service four times in the last 6 months. Im not shopping with you anymore.
No one ever answers the phone. Then when I go in they help the people on the phone first vs the people in store. Never any open availability. Apparently walk ins can’t even get their oil changed because they take reservations now for people with tires and they’re totally booked every single day the man said. LOVELY!
Called about getting two front tires put on they guy told us to be there before 6pm because they close at 7pm got there at 6pm. The guy was rude & didn’t want put my tires on.I live 20+ miles away from this place so I rushed to get out there he turned me away. The guy had an attitude so I said forget it I will not do business with them go somewhere else.
The only reason I picked one star is because they don’t have -5 stars! This place sucks! They don’t answer their phone but they related message through the dispatch or over the phone when they could’ve just answer the damn phone and talk to me. If you have no life and nothing but time and a whole Lotta extra cash, these are your guys! Cedar Tire and Cedar Springs is the place to go for fast and speedy service not Walmart on alpine. Cedar Tire answer their phone within two rings and got me for tires for the exact same price as one Walmart tire!
Wont stand behind their balancing! Service manager is very surely to customers, after waiting for 30 minutes just to see if they could rebalance the tires they failed to balance properly the first time, they told me they didnt have time if I had gotten there half an hour earlier, they could have I was......they helped other people BEHIND me in line first, I think it was to kill time so they wouldnt have to work on my car! I will never go to them again.
Exceptional experience at this location. When the other tire places make you wait hours on end for a simple winter tire bolt on, the manager himself bolted on my tires ahead of a snowstorm. Very friendly and accommodating.
Jose at the Alpine WallMart was the best. We were on a road trip and needed a new tire. We called ahead and he was waiting for us! Hustled to get us in as quickly as possible and get us back on the road. Very efficient and friendly!
Haven’t had my walmart tired for even a full Year and a half.. i’ve had 5 COMPLETE FLAT TIRES!! Worst place i’ve ever gave my money to. Do not buy tires from Walmart.
This was probably my worst experience. They wrote down the wrong tire for the one with a problem and told me Id be paged when it was done. I wasnt paged and obviously the tire wasnt fixed. They then told me they couldnt fix the punctured tire. It took them another 30 minutes to put on the spare. The employees never once apologized for the mix-up or my wasted time.
Wwe gave fone ro Walmart for years ro get our ouk changed. Toda we were told it would be 1 to 1/2 hours. We asked if it was done adter that time, but we were told it would be quite an extended time. Later we checked again and the car waa sitting. In another place. An employee checked through 3 papers abd yes, it was done. We believe it had been done for over an hour. They admitted we were never paged. We arrived around 1 and finally left at 4. Unhappy, tired and upset.
Had my oil changed here, and began having throttle control issues a couple days later. I ended up missing a day of work and having to have a mechanic come look at it only to find out they had left a rag in my air system and it had worked into the throttle and was causing it to stick open. I would not recommend going here
Went in to get 2 new tires. They Che ked my battery(not sure why), and did not replace the cover of the ecm in its housing. Got home before this was discovered. Will NOT be returning to this Wal-Mart again if Charles is on duty
Slowest service ever. Was told it would be two hours to get a tire replaced - five hours later it still wasn’t done. Nice enough people - zero sense of urgency.
Severely understaffed. 27 minutes of the phone constantly ringing before I got a manger on the phone. She was unhelpful and did not seem bothered by the automotive being short staffed. Would not recommend this location.
The mechanic is super nice but you can tell he is under alot off pressure to hurry and help everyone. They need more staff in the automotive section to help him.
They have usually what you need at fair prices oil changes higer though and service. Is super slow. They do do a good job.
Took alittle over an hour and a half for them to tell me they couldnt get a lug off!!! took it home got it off with an extraction socket myself. When you dont have the proper tools why are you performing the services. A big Waste peoples of Time!!!

They were late opening. Was there at opening. They then proceeded to take 2 hours to change 1 tire. Unacceptable amount of time. Only had 1 oil change in front of me (which took her a hour and a half) Very crappy service.
Got new tires 2 at a time over a few weeks.they mixed up and replaced the wrong tire initially. And apologized and took care of it with no problems.I appreciate the work.

Doors still locked at 8:15a (opens at 8a on Sundays) so I called and the lady hung up on me. Then about 10 mins later they FINALLY unlock the doors and all they could say is Im sorry it inconvenienced you Very rude employees. Very understaffed.

You would think that the tires Walmart advertises online could be ordered at the stop but not so and the employees were no help either Walmart should have a catalog with the tires there that you can order from the website and the store are the same company make it simple
Awesome pricing on tires!BUT, if your going in for tires, plan on a 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. Worth it to me and my wallet!

I called in advance and asked about coming in for a oil change I was told it was first come first serve but they stop taking people at 530 and that if I came in it would take and hr to an hr and half I told him that I dodtn wanna drive out there for nothing I got there and was told they were not taking anymore cars!
Over 3.5 hrs to get one tire replaced and theyre not that busy. Not good for customer service.

2021-07-14Tried making an appointment via phone for a week with no luck. Just got put on hold Everytime I called till eventually the call timed out. Called while standing in front of the service desk. The phone rang, went to hold and got ignored even though there were 2 available reps to take that call. Very unprofessional and over alla very unpleasant experience. I will not be returning for any workin the future. Very dissatisfied 10/10 do not recomend

2019-08-25First time I got tire good prices and services, go back a year later for a tire warranty, dont have a tire to replace warranty tire so I have to order it myself, then call to schedule an appointment and they tell me the dont do that. Website says tire department is open until 7, but they told me on the phone they are only open until 3Update: the store hours posted is still not accurate they close whenever, employees are friendly enough, but had to make 5 trips to get 1 tire for warranty purposes. Would have been better off paying more some where else
