This Walmart in Alma/Michigan is without a doubt the worst store of its kind. So Wednesday December 22, 2021.I seen 3 so called workers standing at the door as greeters talking to each other and from what I heard them saying to each other had nothing to do with work. I would normally not have given it any attention but I seen this old lady who looked so lost and they the workers payed her no attention cause they were to busy trying to out do each others stories. I had to help her out and make sure she was okay cause of how I was raised and my morals. She was waiting for her daughter to go get the vehicle but in the 5 or so minutes it took her daughter to get the vehicle she got lost in her mind and I could see it in her eyes that she was getting very scared. When her daughter got to her she said thank you so much for caring and making sure she was okay. I had a few words with the 3 so called guys working the door. I had another lady come and say something about it and how happy it made her seeing me do that for a complete stranger. ALMA WALMART IS THE WORST FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY ACT LIKE YOURE RUINING THEIR DAY IF GOD FORBID YOU NEED HELP.
Basically the same as any other Walmart in the Country. No matter how busy they are they always have an absolute maximum of 2 cashiers working forcing you to either wait an hour to pay or being your own cashier at the darn machines owned by the greediest family in America what do you expect its a Walmart
I go here every time Im visiting Orlando. Clean store and the employees are great. I would like to say that Alexander from the Auto service department was a huge angel for me. He helped me and was very sweet. He needs to be recognized for his going that extra mile for me when my car wouldnt start. As a Michigan resident visiting the area often Im glad that there is employees like him, who still go above and beyond for customers like me.
We love the Big Rapids store and the Greenville stores. The store in Walker is always dirty and understocked. This was true of it even before the pandemic. Plus, the customer service desk in Walker is almost always closed early and they dont follow corporate return policies.
I have had nothing but great experiences with the store pick up. Overall the staff is nice both inside and out of the store. Things seem to be tidy and well organized. My only complaint is the lack of available checkouts. The self checkout system does not allow for wic purchases and with 6 kids I dont always have time to wait in the 1-2 actual registers they have open at a time.
I love the online shopping and delivery options they now have. Just wish that the hired drivers would read the customer comment section so they can be delivered to the correct address. Its new so Im sure they are still working on things but so far Im pleased with the service they offer. All drivers seem friendly and are on time with my orders.
Their is smthn wrong with the website. It says chicken breasts are 290 dollars and chicken thighs are 206 dollars. I cant properly food budget for my next shopping trip. I also tried calling customer service or corporate or whatever and the robot takes SO LONG to respond to what i said and it was the most ridiculous and frustrating thing ever. This is why meijer is better.
I took(4) empty primo bottles of water back for a refund. The machine would not give me a receipt. Bryan the associate told me the cashier would just refund me. I got to the register and the lady told me there where no refunds on bottle. Im out 16 dollars. What can you do about it? Probably nothing.
Use to be a great place to shop now i hate going into the store. The store has really gone down hill in how clean it is to the rude management and it starts from the top to the bottom. SO I STRONGLY RECOMMEND going to Meijers or if you have to go to the Mt Pleasant walmart. I noticed after i wrote my review that alot of the people writing good reviews are the employees from this Wal-Mart. Its just sad.
Prices are higher in this region by as much as ten cents on the dollar. The set up of products in this store is convoluted and difficult to get what you need in the usual time. I find myself perplexed where some things are located as there is no logic behind the method here. Vinegar in baking, where as its usually in condiments. Overall it is a Walmart, cant complain too much if this is your go to place to shop.
Very rude management ordered things online to pick up in store didnt fill order and very rude to me about what I ordered. Did the same order in Mt. Pleasant didnt fulfill order but however very pleasant management and easy to work with there. So if you want to go to Walmart go to Mt Pleasant. If in Alma go to Meijer. Or just go to Meijer in both places
Walmart is most always a disappointing experience and todays visit was no exception. There is always a bunch of employees filling baskets for people sitting at home, but you go to the trouble to go there in person and you cant find help to save your life. So if you go there in person, dont expect help.
I used to love my Alma Walmart. The past year it has gone downhill. The workers are not friendly and they don’t seem to even want to be there. Now, they are stopping customers at the door and searching through the bags and matching to the receipt. I feel like it’s a matter of mistrust. If I beep going through the doors, or am purchasing a big item then ok. They also don’t seem to be as well stocked as they used to be. Love the Pharmacy though. They are super.
Employees want to say youre being rude when youre not. Definitely will not be returning to this Walmart especially next time I am down here. Then the manager Jose wanted to become very rude and I told him that I was going to call corporate on him and that I had family that works in corporate. He then said you want to bet a $100 on that and I said sure why not because I am not lying and he said they cant touch me. Definitely calling my family in the morning and that Walmart has lost all my business.
Most all the staff are not friendly. Also store always looks dirty compared to their competitor. I would rather shop their competitor because as a customer I expect friendly service since it is us customers who are paying for your wages. The Walmart in Mt. Pleasant is nice though. Alma needs to get with the program of customer friendly.
I normally shop at the Walmart in Mount Pleasant but seeing as we were on Alma we decided to stop here. They did not seem to have a lot of the things that we normally get at the Mount Pleasant store. I am not sure why... It was a nice clean store with polite people. Like the way the delicatessen and bakery are set up.
It was great talking to all of the people standing in line trying to return the pop bottles. One machine closed, one had a maintenance issue and people were bringing in multiple carts at a time on the rest. There has to be a better way.!!!! Now I know why my wife wont return them 😁
Another disappointed day at Walmart. Waited over 20 minutes at the fabric counter after telling 4 different associates that I needed help with cutting Some material and a price. After calling the store while waiting we finally got some help. 100 of them will walk by you and only 1 of them asked if we needed help. She should be managing the store. I only wish I would have gotten her name so she could have at least gotten some recognition for her help. 2 associates at the electronics counter making small talk with each other and neither one of them could come help but would call someone to assist. It’s no wonder I hate this store and stay at Meijer. I’m not coming back for this again. Walmart, your customer service is horrific to say the least and I waisted half my day trying to get plants, which are outside and I can’t pay for them outside, I have to come in to pay for them but cants take my cart out of the store because I have unpaid groceries in it. That a joke.
They had the south doors locked. I parked there in the handicap, walk all the way up there which is a chore in 90 degree weather. Then had to go back and move down to the other end. This store has been a sess pool for Covid since March now you do this? A little to late? Returned my stuff and will be going to Meijer fr now on.
Nicely stocked store. Friendly available floor workers. I was looking for a humidifier. Went to where I thought they would be located. Not found so I thought I would check Pharmacy area. Asked at their counter. Was told to check the hardware. I had come from there and informed the clerk that. Was then told well maybe there are some located in aisle 2 down. She then comes out from around the counter to show me. Low and behold there were about 4 different models. I did appreciate her showing me even though she tried to put me off at first.
Werent happy had to show my receipt at the door. the girl checking them said it was mandatory. She stated that everyone had to be checked yet as we walked towards the door nobody was being checked. then walked up to us when we were half way out of the door. what would have happend if we didnt have our receipt. many customers throw them away. would she have not let us have our ALREADY paid for groceries?? the alarm never went off or anything. Id rather not have everyone around me seeing what I bought...
Can you explain to me why HALF of the cupcakes on my sons cupcake cake were really dry and almost hard? Shouldnt it all be fresh to order? Get what you pay for I guess. Decorating was fine and it LOOKED how it was suppose to at least. Wasnt pleased with bakery. The deli was awesome though! Ordered 6 foot party subs and they were great. And an awesome price!! My only complaint was that they told me it would be precut but they didnt do that.. Not that big of a deal for us
Losing customers fast.... Making Billions yet want people to Self Scan... The Crazy Long Lines at the Cashier Lines SHOULD BE AN EYE OPENER! Service Will ALWAYS Be Number One. So go back to putting People & (Customer Care) Back to Work instead of On WELLFARE.... Money Being more important than the Customer & Community Will Cost You MORE In The Long Run...
Im just not a big fan of scanning my own groceries and theres only one or two lanes open with an actual person but those lanes will have 4 or5 customers with shopping carts full and I refuse to scan my own when someone could make a pay check taking a job from us isnt right
Walmart used to be a favorite shopping destination of mine. After standing in a long line to be checked out ( wont use self check) being accosted by a very rude female employee at the front door demanding to see my paid receipt. I was offended to say the least. She wasnt looking at every ones receipt just pick and choose. Im a senior citizen carry a very small handbag, not a thief.So I wont be shopping at Walmart even though the salespeople are extremely helpful.
The benches on the outside of the store are taped so people cant sit on them! People that have a hard time walking need to sit to wait for rides or just may need a break. It is highly discriminatory to not allow a place of rest! Virus or no virus people of all kinds need to function and that is not helping. The uv rays kills the virus and you could set them 6 foot apart. Also changing your entrances all the time doesnt help anyone it just makes life more difficult for many that have a hard time walking. Seriously get it together!
Pics from previous shopping trip.** not happy with our visit we made a special trip to this location to buy and 19in rca home and travel tv. Website stated they had limited left in stock and the associate we talked to was very very helpful but could not locate the 2 his handheld said he had available... they were marked down and we looked through the whole store we did find a 24 in that was still full price but store wouldnt offer any help or price match or offer to order us the size we wanted
I wish there was an option for zero stars. Alma Walmart is by far the worst store I have shopped at. Apparently they are not going to stock anything now. The shelves are always empty and I end up going to their competitor down the road and finding everything I need at a better price. The store is filthy, but I dont expect the dirty employees to be cleaning the way it should be cleaned. The employees are rude and have permanent RBFs. I cant stand going in and asking an employee where a product is and getting a blank stare in return or a rude answer. Im not sure where they find their workers, but they obviously do not need customer service experience or a very high IQ. The customer service desk is the worst. They didnt even want to return a brand new unopened video game WITH a receipt. The lady had to call the manager who had to make the decision. I am so sick of being asked if I want to use the self checkout when in line. If I wanted to work at walmart, I would apply. I want to get out of the store asap and do not like waiting in line for 10+ minutes while the cashiers laugh and visit with the manager about non work related topics. I truly cannot believe over half of the employees still have jobs with how slow they are. This is the worst store to shop at.
The worst Walmart I have ever been to. They turn off the produce lights completely and half of the grocery lights during the middle of the night. If they arent willing to make it lit, they shouldnt be open! Customer service is bad at all times. If you need a videogame out of the case, expect it to take 25 minutes to get an employee to come and unlock it. That is after you already walked to the front of the store to the cashier! I have experienced this many times. During the night and during the day.Everything is shipped in the same trucks-frozen goods, produce, and electronics. That explains why produce from Walmart never lasts as long as from other stores. We did Christmas layaway one year and will never do it again. Our electronic (Skylanders) was stored in a truck outdoors and when we went to pick it up, it took 30 minutes for them to find it and it was frozen. Electronics do not get stored outdoors!
I’ve always hated Walmart but yesterday was kinda the last straw. I was in a rush to get to work and chose to self checkout cause it’s the quickest option. Apparently when you leave they must check everyone’s receipt. So basically you’re making people feel like they’re not trusted. I had to stand behind a few people getting checked. I heard by word of mouth they were getting rid of greeters cause all they did was stand there, so I’m wondering if this is now the role to keep their job there. Anyways, I just shop at meijer because they have mperks to save money and tons of sales and the freshest produce and meat.
Usually shopping at this location (Alma, MI) is okay; today my experience has left in shock. I went to use the fitting room at about 10:15 am this morning (7/19/15), I asked the attendant if I could use a room to try on some bras and if I could leave my cart which was mostly empty right by her desk area, she unlocked the door to a room. Once inside I locked the door because I always do in public just like everyone else. Not even two minutes of being in the room and in the process of trying on a bra (which meant I wasnt fully clothed) the attendant unlocked and opened the door to let in a male who also wanted to try on something. The attendant DID NOT KNOCK and swung the door wide open so anyone and everyone could see me topless. I was mortified and could not leave the fitting room for several minutes hoping that any other customers who saw me in that state of undress would be gone by the time I came out. Then once I exited the fitting room the attendant did not have the decency to apologize or even acknowledge the fact that she just exposed me to other customers when she could have just knocked or remembered she just let someone in two minutes prior. I then notice my cart is no where to be seen. I attempt to ask her where my cart went and she ignored my questions. Rude and unacceptable enough with the situation but to ignore a customer who you wronged is the worst way to handle a mistake. I requested to speak to a manager at the customer service desk and the manager (Sarah) came to take my complaint. I received an apology at least from the manager and she said she would look into which employee was responsible. I never expected to be exposed in that way at any store, the doors on fitting rooms have locks to prevent customers from experiencing situations like this and provide a level of protection against unwanted and unexpected public indecency. At the vary least the attendant should know better than to just unlock a fitting room door without knocking. Every time without exception.
This is absolutely one of the WORST Wal-Marts I have ever been to! You have to wait in line forever because they only have one cashier working most irritating, but then they come to you from self serve checkout to tell you to come to one of those registers, not a fan of that! Plus if I have to do that I expect a employee discount for waiting on myself! Then you go to exit the store and they stop you for your receipt and scan that to make sure youre not a theif!!! I will go to Meijers next trip where they dont treat their customers like they have stolen anything! This store(ALMA) is the WORST Wal-Mart ever, no thanks!!!
Horrible place to shop. Staff rarely smile or great you warmly; store is not inviting nor clean. I used to like this store before it became a Supercenter. Since that change the staff almost act down trodden or depressed and a feeling of exasperation. I avoid shopping there unless I cannot help it.
Shopped here for years until Meijer came to town then realized what I was missing out on. Still shopped here on and off for some of the essentials and items that were cheaper than Meijer... all until the day I went to return a dehumidifier. Purchased a humidifier since it was summer, went to go return the humidifier a month or so later, I never used it since I received one free from a family member and just never got around to returning it sooner. So, we went to return this thing and the lady tells me that she cannot return it because the serial/model numbers do not match what was on the receipt. Dumbfounded I tell her that that cannot be right because we purchased it from this specific store. She called another lady over who tells me the same thing, only in a ruder tone. I looked at the numbers and they’re only slightly off, one fat-fingered mistake. I said, well the numbers are so close it’s possible they just mistyped the number. I was quickly and even more rudely informed that, that isn’t possible because they only scan the barcode and it isn’t possible to hand-type the numbers. Since I’m not the best with confrontation I brought my mother with me the second time we came back and since they already knew of us ‘trouble’ people they had their gang of three people come to ‘deal’ with us. We received the same feedback and they refused to look at the cameras to make sure the cashier hadn’t typed in the number. We tried returning it without a receipt but was told that they couldn’t because they knew we had one. Tried taking it back to another Walmart, which I’m sure they were informed prior, and had no success. After multiple more visits and asking to talk to different / higher managers did they finally look at the security camera and lo and behold, the cashier had hand typed in the numbers and fat-fingered it. There was never any apology or sympathy for their treatment of us, just handed us our money and walked away. We had asked specifically for the one woman who was the rudest to us to be the one to give us our money back but she mysteriously was on break/off work... funny that, she couldnt look us in our face and give us our money back, admitting her crappy attitude and wrongs against us. Wish I could rate zero stars but I guess the 1 star is for the few employees that work there that are actually kind and help. Meijer now has a dedicated customer and is treated as such, have never had an issue returning items and I’m always greeted at the door being welcomed and thanked as I walk out. I will pay a little more to be treated kindly and be provided a better service/products.
Good store but the built in McDonalds had flies everywhere and was very unclean. It made me not even want to go into the Wal-Mart since the restaurant is at the entrance. Bathrooms in Wal-Mart are also out of service. Their auto service center also only does tires and lube. They need a better service center.
I was standing in line. Of 20 people it ran the whole length of all your of your front check out. Only had 1 open. The after standing in line. For a while they opened a couple more. When the people went to them. There was still a line. And the Walmart people. Acted like the didnt no what to do. Running around. The open a line up. It started at 10 went way dont to self serve. Wasnt happy. Its bull when you have enough workers to cover them. I almost left my cart with all my stuff there and walked out. Not happy.
I have never been so humiliated and disrespected in my life until tonight.My brother in-law, a friend and I walk in to get items to help get a truck I just bought off of 127. We walk in after 11:00pm and go straight down the main isle by the groceries that runs into the next isle you have to turn to go right to go by electronics and then the automotive section we were headed toward.We no more than make it 60 seconds into the store where we need to turn right and there is an employee stocking items. Thats when we start being harassed and followed all the way to the automotive section. I hadnt noticed this however my brother in-law had. I disregarded it as coincidence. Then as I am looking at tow straps and a tow bar and deciding which was the best solution to our problem I have a manager come up to me and politely as if we were finding everything ok. I answered yes and continued to read the tow bar instructions to see if this would work. As I am doing so the manager continues to hover over me and stand there. A customer walks up and asks for assistance, so he then walks away to tend to this customer. As he walks around the corner I look up and see this poofy haired lady (employee) in all of her dishevelment that we initially passed 60 seconds into being in the store and being followed ask Do you want me to take care of him so you can watch them? This instantly infuriates me as now I realize that I am being harassed for something I havent even had time to cause suspicion for!So as I am done with my idea on the solution to my problems I decide to walk over to another area just to see if I get followed. In doing so instantly that manager appears and starts fiddling with something. So I decide its best I leave before getting more frustrated with this situation. As I am walking to the registers I was graciously followed by 3 employees. So I had decided it was time to lose the tail I gained so graciously by my suspicious actions of walking into the store. So we take a couple isles and back track and end up behind them then we disappear over to the jewelry section and then decided that was enough fun for the night and we would check out. As we make it back to the registers I see the disheveled looking employee looking for us frantically. By then were in line standing there while she is confused on our disappearing acts. I waited until she turned around and when she did I waived and said Hi, you found me! So she then decided to yell out Thats ok, we have you on camera stealing! Which was a complete shock to me as I had never even made an attempt nor had the time to act like I was stealing before I was being tailed and harassed.While in line I seen the manager Robert and confronted him and asked why we are being treated like this and followed. His answer was we were Suspicious. I asked how we were suspicious and I got no answer. I then asked how did we walk into the store and within 60 seconds become suspicious and still no answer.This by far is the worst treatment I have had by any store. I would have gone to the local Meijers however being that it was so late and wanting to get back home I didnt want to make an even longer trip, longer!
Pretty damn sad loosing workers and customers. Alma Walmart puts about 8 self serve checkouts, 10-10:30pm all of them self serve check outs are closed and only 1 God damn checkout is opened with customers with items like 1-3 items and who knows how many others are loaded with groceries. Its about time Alma Walmart start opening back up self serve checkouts so us people with 10 items or less can get out. This is why my husband and I have seen people putting there groceries down and so fourth and leaving. Im not ashamed to yell for help God damn it!
Usual Wal-Mart experience. Limited choices. Aisles blocked by stockers who stare blankly at you when you say excuse me. One regular checkout open. Has self check, but if you have a lot takes me too long. I shop there for the prices. I have no expectations of a pleasant, helpful experience.
There is always a screaming kid, bathrooms typically disgusting, and things are broken but yet on display or on shelf to buy. People who work and shop here just dont care, its what happens when you cut prices of everything, especially human dignity. Keep shopping here and place in the like and youll help usher in the damnation if the lower class you pretend to not be a part of.
I had an interview scheduled here. and no one told me where i was spoto go to meet them for the interview. so i got there a couple minutes early and went to the service desk to let them know i was there for an interview. after waiting in line because they were being extremely slow they made me late. then i was told they wouldnt do my interview because i was late. even though their employees made me late!!!
Never ever shop wal mart ever again I like to shop early for holidays and birthdays when things are on sale so I did for a brother bought him new fishing pole gave it to him 3 weeks later it broke first time using it and it I wanted to exchange it for new one that what exact same thing had to pay the full price for it because it wasnt on sale anymore so shopping there for any thing exspcially early is so stupid they will screw you later
I wanted to buy a tablet on Sat. Jan. 7 approx 6:30pm the man in the electronic bepot was to busy talking to his friends to help me unlock the cabinet I asked a manager in a yellow vest for some help she explained to me that it wasnt her job. This is a message to management versitilaty and education is key but so is selling product your staff doesnt care maybe you should because they are waisting your time, money, and profits

2022-05-18Not enough items on the floor. Very messy cant fine what you want. Items in wrong spot. Cashier is very nice. We try to get the same one every time. Other ones are standing around talking and not watching for lines.

2022-06-13Overall store cleanliness and organization was good. The womens bathroom needed more attention from maintenance, in the stall my daughter used as well as the one I was in the toilet paper dispenser was literally falling off. The main reason I dont really like this store, and Walmart in general, is that they dont take WIC in the self checkouts and they dont have more than one other checkout open...making huge lines of mothers with crying, tantrum throwing, impatient children all trying to out scream the children around them.

2022-05-17Stopped in for about 10 minutes to use the coin star, used the bathroom while I was there. Now I feel gross cuz that bathroom was not pleasant. Most the doors wouldnt shut. The 3rd stall I went to the door shut, but wouldnt lock. At least two of the toilets were not clean, also no paper towels. Went to cash in my coin star ticket an went to self check out, I wasnt able to do it on the self check out machine so I went to the cashier running the self check and stood in line as she had a personal conversation with an acquaintance. Minus one star for the customer service I received, minus 2 stars on the condition of the bathroom. Very disappointed right now.#in my option

2022-06-30I ordered groceries for pickup and the lady refused to give it to me because I had antifreeze, dog hair and a car seat in my car. My child was in the car but my grandma was also with me. So never once would she have been left unattended. I live with dogs. I have dog hair on my clothes. So yeah it’s going to be in my car. And I always have antifreeze in my car. But still she refused to give me the food I paid for. I’ve done pick up orders at other Walmarts and I’ve even done orders for other people at Walmarts and never once had this issue. It’s normal for a person to have antifreeze/washer fluid in their vehicle. Honestly I’ll travel the extra half hour to go to a different Walmart

2022-05-25Allot if things are never stocked and the lanes are always cluttered with too much stuff or are too small to get through with the carts. Not a very good variety of things there. Store is really small and cramped. It really should be bigger for how busy it gets.

2022-01-05Its alright to shop, pick up medicine etc but Im dropping my star rating down due to the lack of cashiers. Each time Im in the store all they have open is the self checkout and very few actual lanes open. I personally dont work there so why should I scan and bag my own stuff??
