I had an emergency situation in which my electrical service needs to be replaced in my home do the Breaker Box was arcing with smoke. Ward Electric took our call and the owner was dispatched to my house within 30 minutes. Mike understand the critical nature of the issue and provided a very honest review along with pricing for the service.The pricing was very fair and he was able to re-arrange the schedule to have 2 Electricians on site within 45 minutes after I accepted the work quoted. The Electricians were very professional and courteous at all times. I was able to leave my house with no issues with them being there as well.Our power was up and running the same day and they came back the next day to finish labeling the boxes and also did some extra work I need to have done in my Kitchen and bathrooms as well. They cleaned up after themselves and didnt leave any messes.As mentioned above about the pricing being very fair. Ward Electrics pricing was almost $2000 cheaper than what someone else quoted me for just swapping out the 100 AMP service and taking care of the outside mask up to the CP Hook Up. Ward Electric did the same thing not only upgrading the service from 100AMP to 150AMP with plenty of room to spare, but also took care of the entire outside replacing the wires and pipe for the mask to the actual CP Hook.Great Job by all and very quick response to a emergency situation!
I hired Ward Electric Co. to put in a new 150 amp service, install electrical for two bathroom remodels, and update some kitchen electrical in my Grand Rapids home. I am very satisfied with the finished product. The electricians were professional, knowledgeable and explained what they were doing when I had questions. They arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves when finished each day. I would hire this company again for future projects. Jeff
The team at Ward Electric is highly skilled, responsive almost immediately, professional, great service and expert in their trade. The service I received to an electrical emergency was prompt and solved the issue quickly. Their calls back to check on the situation to make sure I was taken care of were greatly appreciated. Had a few outlets go out and no amount of resetting the GFIs in the house made them work again. Called Ward Electric on a recommendation from a neighbor, appointment was a week out but they called the next day saying someone was available. Tech David arrived as promised, wore a mask, troubleshot the issue and found the previous homeowner incorrently wired a braker so instead of tripping, it overloaded the circut and melted one of our outlets. Not sure how we escaped the situation without a fire. David replaced the outlet, switched out the incorrect breaker, and did so in a flash. Worked fast, was very professional, will use again if needed. Highly recommend.
Some how I blew out my entire breaker box when I plugged in my electric stove after repairing it. On a Saturday evening with in 15 minutes of my call Mike Wade the owner came out did some minor repairs until the parts and job can be finished on Monday. My son is on a ventilator so it was important that he came out with a solution and they did. Thank you for the great service. I will definitely use this company again.
Mike and his crew are top notch. A couple weeks ago while I was at work, my wife noticed a strange electrical issue at home. All the lights in the house started flickering from really bright to dim by themselves. My wife decided to call an electrician to get someone out to take a look at the panel ASAP. This was before normal business hours and Ward Electric answered the call. While on the phone with Mike, the owner, the main panel started shorting out and began shooting sparks everywhere. Mike advised my wife to hang up and dial 911 and get everyone out of the house. Shortly after the fire department, ambulance and police showed up, so did Mike! Mike even beat me to the scene and it was my family and home at risk.After all the chaos and smoked cleared, Mike stayed behind to take a look at what happened. He provided me with an estimate for the repair and offered his services to help take care of the issue starting that day.It took Ward Electric about 2 days to replace and repair everything that was necessary to be able to restore power back to the house. This included a whole new main disconnect and 200 amp breaker box as well as replacing some of the branch circuits throughout the home.Mike even went the extra mile and talked with my insurance adjuster to help fill in some of the more technical details of the event. He provided a very detailed report on his findings and analysis of the damaged items which was submitted right to the insurance company.Every person I dealt with from Ward Electric was very kind and professional, from Jenny the receptionist to Brandon the electrical foreman on the job. They did great work and cleaned up after themselves when the job was completed. I couldn’t be happier and will always turn to Ward Electric in the future.
If I could give more stars I would! On Monday, June 4, at 10:00 AM, my wife and I came home from attending an out of town wedding. Its not good when you turn the light switch and no lights come on. We called two electricians and the response from Ward Electric was professional and courteous from minute one. Jenny was a delight to deal with in the office . She dispatched Mike out to our home immediately and yes we did need a new electrical panel and service. Ours had quit working after thirty years. Brandon and crew are working now...what a response. Oh by the way the other electrician just called my cell phone to let me know they were booked out for a week. Again I cant thank Ward Electric and Mike Ward enough for the quick response. Highly-recommend Ward Electric. Mike was professional and started work on my rental property rewiring project (knob and tube replacement) BEFORE the scheduled date and finished ahead of schedule. Other electricians I contacted were rude or twice as expensive, so I am happy to say, Ward Electric is my electrician for Grand Rapids.
I called Ward Electric during a week day for an issue I was having with my circuit breaker box. I was told I could expect an approximate 20 minute wait which I thought was reasonable. When they showed up (on time), I found out he was the owner. He diagnosed the problem very quickly and told me they would have the fix completed the next day which did happen. I cant say enough about Ward Electrics professionalism throughout the whole process and wouldnt hesitate to use them again.

Ward Electric- I cant say enough good things about Mr. Ward and his employees. After being in the restaurant business for years, I am really suspect to certain reviews. I am so happy I called them. During the storm, Brandon and Rob came out to our home and installed the electric meter and piping on our service that was knocked down by a tree during the recent storm. I would highly recommend Ward Electric. Their service was first class. We had the power box to our AC unit randomly start on fire and damaging all the wiring and breakers during a few very hot days. They came out the same day and had everything fixed. They also took pictures and had everything in order for our insurance claim without even asking, which was very much appreciated. From start to finish, they were considerate and treated us as if we were their top priority with numerous calls to keep me updated while I was at work and fully explained everything in detail. They more than exceeded my expectations.
We lost power in a line of outlets. We called Ward Electric and set up an appointment with them. They sent out their electricians, Rob and David. They were on time and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem. They did an excellent job and left the project very neat and clean. We would definitely use them again.

Great experience! Power went out unexpectedly and we called Ward Electric per our neighbors recommendation. They arrived extremely quick and were very informative when describing the issue. Mike Ward charges obscene prices for his work. It may be good work. But, if you need just a new main breaker, he will quote you for a new service, panel, and branch circuits. Yes it will be to code, but it will be at a 4x price more than normal. He thrives on the wealthy in EGR, and ADA areas where the work is easy, and the people are happy to spend their money on the best. Top it off, Mike has a terrible attitude. I had him quote a job for me, 4x more expensive. When asked why the cost was so much higher, he became quite defensive and rambled on about how wrong it is the customer questions the professional. BYE!
Recently had a fire in my electrical panel. Mike Ward of Ward Electric came right out immediately and diagnosed the problem and supplied us with a very reasonable bid. He was followed by a crew of two electricians. They replaced the panel in one day and checked the rest of our electrical system. You can’t go wrong by using this company. The most professional company we have run into in the electrical industry.
We needed some electrical work done, and called Ward Electric for a quote. Ward Electric gave us a competitive quote, and did a quality job. We have some more work we need to have done in upgrading our houses 40 year old electrical system, and we plan on calling on them again.

On 07/08/2013 I called Ward Electric after I lost half my power. It was past their regular time, since I didnt think it was a emergency they offered to have some call in the morning to setup a appointment. They called around 7:30 a.m. the next day and had the owner out to inspect the area and plan the materials by 9 a.m. Like most profession tradesmen that are good at what they do he did come across as a bit arrogant, but he was professional and respectful. His bid was reasonable enough I didnt feel the need to get another. They started the work the day after the quote. The crew worked diligently and answered what questions I had. Being my first project I didnt have a idea of the time involved, nor was I given a estimate. They arrived around 8:30 a.m. and got right to work. When they had finished around 5 p.m. they told me what I needed to know about the new equipment and cleaned up after themselves. Over all it was a very positive experience and if i had to do more work down the road they would be my first call.
After a DIY project gone very wrong over the weekend, it was a great relief to call Monday morning and have the service team squeeze us in for the afternoon. The service was prompt and they even cleaned up after themselves. I hope wont have a need to call again but I know who I will if we have to. Thank you!

They replaced 150 AMP Electrical Panel and breakers in July. They didnt pull a permit for the work until 3 months later after two letters of complaints including one from our Attorney. Their work did not pass inspection. Way over Priced. Would not recommend.

These guys are great!!! i just called in the middle of the night, after a day with loads of storm damage in the area... the owner Mike got Ron out here within an hour and came up with a temporary fix to keep us running till someone can comeback and do the full repairs!

2019-02-15Recently, while we were out of the country and had a friend watching our house; a huge tree branch fell during the recent ice storm and ripped the mast / meter off the side of our house.I lucked out when I called Ward electric. I was speaking to the owner (Mike Ward) within minutes of calling. He reassured me that he would treat me like he would his own family member; he couldnt have put it better. His crew was over to my house in hours and worked tirelessly despite the inclement weather to restore the mast and meter on my home.Upon returning home, the crew had to come out and finish up a bit of grounding / bonding. I couldnt have been more pleased when I got to meet his guys in person. They were kind and not only finished up the job, but also took the time to help me troubleshoot another issue I was having after the storm, show me what they did and answer any questions I had.If I ever need the services of an electrician again, Ill be calling Mr. Ward and his team.

2020-11-18Ward Electric did a great job! The home I recently purchased was built in 1926 and had knob and tube wiring throughout. I talked to three other companies and was most impressed with Ward Electric’s estimate and really impressed with their crew. We just did not look at pricing alone, we looked at the character of the company. The electricians were on time, safely rewired my home, installed a new 200-amp service, and installed a new smoke detector system. Their work was professionally done. Phone calls were answered professionally, 2. We received a same day estimate on both projects which made it easy. Ward Electric installed a new 200 Amp duplex service in our rental home and rewired a new kitchen and back porch. They completed it on time and on budget. The second project at our home, Ward Electric converted our old recess cans to led lights and hooked up our hot tub which was a nice update to our older home. Highly recommend this company and crew.

2018-11-26Professional team at Ward Electric. I would highly recommend. 5 stars isnt enough. The only company to return my phone call same day. I worked with the owner of the company and he sent out two professional, neat and clean technicians. I had no power in half my house. They repaired my problem and I also had them install a new electrical service along with a surge protector. I had gotten other pricing prior to meeting Ward Electric, they were competitively priced but I trusted this group 100 times more than the other electricians I met. 2017-12-27My husband and I were overjoyed to discover Ward Electric after having a poor experience with a different company. Mike Ward made an excellent first impression by arriving to our home to inspect our electrical issue within the hour I first called to request service. Mike took the time to show and explain the electrical issue and he described what needed to happen to resolve it. I appreciated his honesty and straightforwardness. Jenny in their office communicated clearly, professionally and she coordinated the appointment and billing. Within a week (even with the holiday), Mike had two electricians, David & Brandon, out to our home to complete the job. After they were finished, they showed me what they installed and talked me through the upgrades they made as well as answered all my questions. 2020-05-14I recently moved into a new house and needed to get an electrician out for some work around the new place. I called a bunch of places and no one responded or called me back. Ward Electric picked up the phone right away and also spoke with the owner of the company to get the work done on my place. They arrived on time and finished right when they said they would. They installed a new 150-amp electrical service for the house. The price was very reasonable and the warranty for it is great.Am very satisfied with the work and will use them again for any other electrical work that is need.
