It is very large and spacious with a lot of windows. So if you want to hang out for a bit while perusing a book, it is nice. They have a good amount of tables and private rooms that you can rent for larger study groups (which I have done and worked out nicely). They allow you to reserve online and check out books from other branches and have them delivered to whichever location you prefer (which I also use regularly). The only downside is that while the location is very large, they do not seem to have any many books as they could for the space. And I think it would be neat if the civic center area had a café like the Miller branch so you could ‘make a day of it’ at the library.
Anime club is 😎👌👌👌👌. I love going to this library there are tons and tons of books to choose from. Its nice how there are some clubs so kids and teens from the same city can interact. I love participating in the summer reading club and its great. But with there being over 20,000+ people living in warren why do less than a thousand people participate in it? They should go to more schools telling students about it so they are less active on their phone and doong something better like attending events at the librarys and reading books.
This library location is very clean, orderly and offers a variety of classes and activities. However, the library staff are very loud and disruptive. The library staff process the book returns roughly and loudly and also have very loud personal conversations, particularly at the front desk. Even at the backdesk area the staff talk very loudly with the patrons seeking copy, fax or scan services. It is extremely disruptive when you are trying focus on whatever book, magazine or work youre attempting to complete only to have the library staff talking at the top of their voices...I mean, this IS a library. Also, recently after my library visit I remained in the Civic Center lobby to finish returning some emails on wifi. Just as I was packing up my pc and things to leave about fifteen minutes later, a man emerged from the library, peeled open the front library doors, looked at me crazy and murmered something to me as he slammed the library doors shut then quickly left. I was totally shocked!! How could the library staff not check the library before closing and leave a person in there?!?! This is not a huge library like the Detroit Main Library branch with multiple floors...this is a small library with one floor for patrons to use but the library staff were so focused on talking about their paychecks, personal matters and rushing to get outta there at closing that they left somebody up in there!! For those reasons, I will not return to this library branch again. My advice, replace the current library staff with fresh, new library PROFESSIONALS that actually care & respect library patrons.
I was taking my shoes off while reading at the desk, and got warning about that.I do have my socks on and my feet arent stink and Im not walking around. so if I wear flipflop is ok? What is the different? This is the second time she came to warn me on silly stuffs.maybe Im just sitting at the wrong spot ,or she just doesnt like me for some reason.
The lady that sits at the reference desk in the very middle of the library is so loud at first i thought it was because the person was hard of hearing but no thats the way she normally talks you cant get away from her because she sits in the middle of the place the childrens section is peaceful compared to the adult section everyone knows how to keep quiet except for her i suggest to find a different library to do your studies
Slowest wifi Ive ever used, been that way for years. Youre better off at any other area library, Madison Heights, Roseville, Sterling Heights, Troy, Royal Oak, Ferndale. If its a nice day, sit outside, the city square wifi is many times faster and less likely to drop the signal. If you dont care about the wifi, its fine otherwise. If its open that is, lmfao...

2022-05-17Had to visit the clerks office and it was super quick. Sometimes the lines are a tad long which makes your wait times longer but they are always quick, helpful, and professional.

2021-12-15If youre late and you get library fines of more than $5.00 youll be told you cant check anything out until its paid. Then youll get your account Blocked and wont be able to check out anything or put anything in Hold online or in person. When you get fined and dont pay it, and a few months or more pass then unexpectedly an additional $10 fine will be accrued for sending the patron bill to collections. I had to pay my fines or else never get a chance to check out anything again. Im on Disability and thats so unfair and a bit greedy.

2021-11-17This library will literally charge you for a returned book claiming its damaged out when it is fine. I literally never even took the book out of the bag and returned it before I even got a chance to read it. Apparently this is so damaged of a book that cant be put back in circulation.

Please update this library very old school. This is an outdated library..old school, I will continue to use my friends library in Sterling heights.

2021-05-26One of the first things I do wherever I move is to find the nearest library and sign up. Warren has an incredible library system. I especially enjoyed the free lectures (pre-COVID) that they had. Hope to return to them soon.
