Beautiful venue! Made for a truly exquisite wedding ceremony and reception. Only one downside worth mentioning for me, that may be an upside for others. Because it shares the building with the Port Authority, it is one of the few places in Michigan where smoking Marijuana is still illegal.

We wanted our wedding to be a great party with good food, good music and great decor. Being an out of state couple we were nervous about how wed make it happen.Waterview loft made our wedding what we engaged it to be. Stress free, well coordinated and organized with an absolutely terrific venue and a fantastic service.We had great experience start to finish. Lauren assisted us with all the questions and helped us make right package selection. Anna was our coordinator who helped me to tailor all our requirements.Every single vendor partner they have are great. Florals - emerald city designs, food service, DJ - Jason (big shout out for awesome Hollywood and Bollywood mix), quartet team, photographers - Phil Black and Mary Ann, event coordinators - BE and company all made our day absolutely fantastic and fun.We had such a blast and food was very good. We had a dedicated personal coordinator taking care of just me and my grooms drinks, food and random needs. This is a venue to get married for the service and for the party they will put together for you.Thank you so much Anna for your help and support.
Well we didnt have directions on where to park and when we finally found it we were not sure we were in the right spot for valet. Many cars just parked and no attendants. I think they must of been pulling double duty. Unfortunately it was a big hold up and we missed the wedding ceremony. The filet was awesome. Beautiful decor and bathrooms upstairs. Industrial downstairs dance floor. Awesome on the water view from the floor to ceiling windows. Just glad we had nice weather for the flow to the outside. Wait staff was awesome too.

I could start this out like all the other reviews, but one sentence will probably sum up how fantastic the service here is: I had a glass of red wine spilled on my dress during the toasts, and the staff here was still so phenomenal that the night wasnt impacted at all by the spill. Clean up happened right away, a gorgeous mini cake was fabricated, the staff must have asked me a hundred times after if we needed anything, the gown cleaning and preservation was covered by them, and sincere apologies were made. I have a feeling a lot of places simply couldnt have recovered from this. It says a lot about how a person handles a bad day much like it says a lot about how a wedding venue handles a fiasco. P.S. Shout wipes are the only effective red wine remover. Waterview Loft exceeded both mine and my husbands expectations and my parents, who hosted and had already paid for two other weddings. We knew right away the views couldn’t be matched by any other venue from pictures online. It was also very convenient for guests to have the parking right across the street (they do offer valet too) as well as the Detroit Marriott at the Ren Cen within walking distance. What’s better for a night when people want to celebrate with some drinks than a hotel within walking distance and overnight parking? This venue isnt quite right for someone looking to DIY and save money at every chance. This venue is perfect for someone in school full-time, with a demanding job, or little interest in ironing out the many details that accompany wedding planning. They match you up with a company for flowers and decor, a DJ, and cake. We picked our photographer and officiant. This was great for us as the photos and ceremony were parts we cared about whereas the cake and decor were less of a priority. Every step of the planning, Melanie was incredible- organized, friendly, and kind. I never felt like I was asking too many questions, despite knowing I was! She responded promptly and professionally. I had confidence every day that Waterview Loft knew what they were doing and that our wedding would go smoothly. I would trust them with any event. Even the world’s scariest bridezilla would be calmed by them. The food on our wedding day was one of the best meals of both of our lives- and we are foodies! So many guests commented on the food as well- the potato torta is amazing! I can’t speak enough to the high quality of the entire meal. We also received many compliments on the staff’s friendliness and willingness to make everyone feel taken care of.The only big surprise was with Emerald City Designs- the company they pair you with for flowers and decor and tablecloths. The package included in the WVL bundle doesnt include any wedding party flowers at all. This shocked us and ended up costing us more than we planned on. Wouldve been nice to not be in the dark here. Also, our bridesmaid bouquets were to be grabbed by WVL staff during cocktail hour and put on tables for centerpieces and that didnt occur. Yet, there are so many small details that added to the overall 5 star review, it would take hours to list them here. We’d like to simply thank the staff at Waterview Loft for the most wonderful wedding. We will cherish every moment of it and it wouldn’t have been possible without every member of your team.
As a wedding photographer, this venue is great for weddings!The window lighting, and atmosphere is awesome! Plus the food is scrumptious!

Attended my sisters wedding here. Gorgeous views, comfortable environment, right on the waterfront, great indoor and outdoor spaces with walls of windows, clean restrooms and helpful and professional staff.
Nice venue for a large meeting or dinner. A little tough to find and access is kind of tricky later in the day but nice balcony overlooking the river.

Not bad. I was here for a wedding. The only thing I did not like was the ceremony was downstairs, dinner upstairs, and then dancing was back downstairs.

2021-10-15I was there for a black tie optional wedding and what a wonderful place, food and service. The wedding was on the 1st floor in an industrial looking high ceiling room with windows overlooking the river walk and the Detroit River. The reception was upstairs in a room with windows overlooking river and Canada. Plated meal that didnt miss a beat except too little dressing on the salad. Dancing was back downstairs along with the cake. I even talked them into a take home container since the food was a regular restaurant serving. Hope more friends get married here.

2021-07-26From beginning to end, the staff at waterview loft was INCREDIBLE. They made the entire wedding planning process so seamless - even with two date changes! Our every expectation was exceeded. The on site staff as well as Melanie, our coordinator, went above and beyond to make our day flawless. Our guests could not stop complimenting on it. You won’t regret booking here!

2021-11-10I cant describe how great our experience was. My daughter got married here and had her reception here. Our planner (Kate) was incredible! She was there for us every step of the way! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, the view is beautiful. The food was beyond delicious. The service was on a totally different level, they were amazing (thank you Spencer)!! I am still getting phone calls from our guests complimenting the entire wedding. If you are considering this venue, do yourself a favor and book it, I promise you wont regret it!

2019-12-03Being a preferred entertainment vendor I may be biased but the management company “Continental Services” does great work. I’ve known them for over 20 years. They manage many properties in Detroit and beyond. I’m always impressed with their work.

2021-07-30Celebrated our daughters wedding at Waterview Loft. The staff was AMAZING, anticipating our every need (even before we did). All the vendors that partner with them were great. With the roll up door, you can go right from the dance floor to the outdoor patio with a beautiful view of the water. Also had a convenient parking structure right across the street. I would highly recommend this venue!
