WEINGARTZ in other cities:
Single worst telephone ordering experience ever even though I gave her the part numbers for all but one item. She told me there is no roll bar on a 5420 tractor. After an interminable call in which she had difficulty in finding everything, I cancelled the entire order when she charged me $51 each for 2 plastic lenses for a roll bar-mounted tail light. Call a parts place that trains its workers.
Beware! These people are crooks and liar’s I took a snow blower in to them for running rough I had a protection plan they ripped off the warranty people for delivery and picking it up when I dropped it off and picked it up then lied about what was wrong with it so they could double dip me and the warranty company. They lying little girl in the front called me today to tell me it was ready for pickup and it was repaired then found out I was disputing their scam and did something too it to make it run worse than I left it ..also she lied to my face and said they didn’t touch it. And she never called me to tell me it was fixed I will be checking into legal options they have probably been scamming people a long time I had too take it to a reputable repair shop too see what damage they did. This is the biggest scammers I have ever dealt with.
[Update - weingartz did work with me, and did find a acceptable solution, after months of emails]. I recently bought a Honda eu3000is inverter generator for home power back from JJ at the farmington hills location late December. Not only was I assured that this was an adequate generator to power appliances in my home and protect electronics with clean power due to the Inverter, but it would would be simple to have a outlet put on my home by an electrician so I could power my home from it. When I had a professional electrician out to have the house-side outlet installed, he takes one look at this generator and not only does this generators power output lack enough wattage to power my home needs, its also the incorrect voltage directly supply the service panel (not 240v), also the generator lacks the required outlet (L14-30r 120/240v 30a locking) to connect to the house. He then informs me this model is more for RVs. Afterward, I visited the store and talked with Ted, which he suggested since they have no refunds for generators policy that they could help by exchanging the generator since I have not used it yet and he stated JJ should have known this was the wrong one. I ask if they any other Inverter generators in stock and that would meet my power needs. They say they have another more expensive one in stock (em6500sx, which is not an Inverter generator). They said they might get a more reasonable priced (em5000sx -still not an Inverter generator) in stock in a few days. So I believe them and leave thinking at least its a compromise. That was two weeks ago, when ever I call to see if the generator is in stock, Im told they are in short supply. Just today I called and talked to Jimmy and he tells me they will not have the em5000sx until April, he did apologize at least. After further searching I find that reasonable Inverter generators from other stores go for 1/2 of what weingartz has them for. At this point I feel taken advantage of and all I want is a refund.
Sincerely disappointed with the service. Brought my one-year old, twice used Toro snowblower in for a tune up. Got charged more for a tune up for my snowblower at Weingartz than a tune up would cost for my car ($149 to change the oil and gas on a snowblower which cost me $300 new). I wished it ended with simple price gauging. A day after the tune up, my snowblower was malfunctioning -- it would not start properly. I hauled it back into Weingartz after being told to do so over the phone by customer service, but they refused to acknowledge the issue when I arrived (they did not even try to replicate the issue as instructed, which was the most disappointing part). Instead they talked down to me as if their rough and tough technicians know better than a simpleton homeowner. Save your money and your time and go anywhere else!!!
Staff always incredibly helpful (Special shout out to Ted). When you purchase equipment, they open it, fill it with gas and test it out for you. They also show you how to use it. All that for same price Home Depot will charge you (and good luck finding someone to help you there). Good customer service is hard to find - not here!
I had the pleasure of working with Alex J. Yesterday while purchasing my new Cub Cadet. As a retail manager myself he displayed every attribute that I expect from the salesmen that I supervise. I asked him a good amount of specific questions about the few tractors I was trying to choose between and he answered them all in depth without every getting pushy about making a sale. Extremely knowledgeable and professional and I will be back for all of my future lawn maintenance needs in the future. My tractor was delivered the next day exactly as he said and I couldnt be any happier. I had been tossing around the idea of getting a new tractor for about a year and a half and he make the experience very easy.
I was helped today by two great people. Jeff and Ted. Both were very knowledgeable on the equipment and I was very happy with my purchase. I bought a redmax weed wacker they recommended and a bagger for my mower it works great. They bent over backwards to help me with my selection and needs. I would highly recommend this place.
Interesting story. I advertised my 6x12 enclosed trailer for sale. Respondent was very respectful and inquisitive. Settled on price and delivered to rough section of Detroit, The Red Zone. Buyer was 17 Year old working with a non profit director to give youth a clear path to success. We were so impressed, we lowered price and towed trailer to Weingartz to receive a new zero turn mower. Non profit helps kids by working with them to acquire landscaping jobs and contracts.Vet cool.We will be working with them also.Cant wait.
I just left the Farmington Hills store and was looking for a part for a Briggs & Stratton pressure washer. We were unable to find the parts. Then one of the staff by the name of James asked me if I found what I was looking for on my way out the door I told him no. he said come with me. He looked at the photo on my phone and figure what out what I needed and made it happen. Great customer service. Thank you James “you are the man!!!”
This store has really gone downhill. When I call for a simple parts inquiry, no one answers. I get bounced around and get to listen to 10 minutes of music with an option to leave a message. What happened to personalized local service. Looks like there are focusing on online sales. I can order parts from multiple places on the web, but I have no incentive to order from a company who cant answer the phone..
This store has really gone downhill. When I call no one answers, and when I do get someone on the phone, theyre not helpful. I had a mobile lawn mower repair scheduled two weeks in advance and on the day of my appointment no one showed up. I took time off work for nothing. I called and there was no sympathy out of anyone and no rush to get me rescheduled. Im glad they have so much business that they dont need mine.
As for the selection of items and quality of service, this place will meet the needs of any lawn. Everytime Ive called, the reps were courteous and receptive. Pricing is fair and competitive. An advantage youll have is that you will know the person who you deal with and you can deal with the same person everytime, which makes it easier to handle your needs.P.S: Dont look for freebies, you wont get any. Delivery prices are not very competitive. The big stores will deliver cheaper.
I recently acquired a cub cadet and thought I should get it maintained by Weingartz, since it was purchased from there. The phone system is ridiculous. I am constantly placed on hold for 10 minutes at a time or more. I literally have my phone on speaker as background noise, waiting for someone to pickup. It has taken multiple calls to speak to the parts and service department. The riding mower hasnt been serviced yet, cant wait to the customer service there.
Aaron makes this place shine! He has always treated me kind and even goes beyond what a salesman should do. I had trouble with my Stihl 46C Trimmer that he sold me a couple of months ago and was standing in the repair line to get it serviced. He came over to say hello and he took the trimmer and went to the back and he was able to get it working. NOW THAT IS TOP NOTCH SERVICE BY A TOP NOTCH HUMAN BEING!!!
Professional, knowledgeable and quick. I went in to purchase a snowblower after the last big snowfall we had. After a few phone calls selection was limited and or sold out locally. I did my research and knew what I was going in for. After a few minutes I let Ted know what I wanted, we rang up the transaction and within 20 minutes or less they had assembled my unit and prepped it and I was on my way. I would definitely reccomend Weingartz and Ted and Alex! The big box stores are fine but you wont get the knowledge and customer service you will here
Jimi Turowski in the sales department has always been on top of everything, I have worked with other guys there but Jimi is seriously awesome, extremely helpful, knowledgeable, honest, I would go with him every time! He keeps you up to date as soon as a peice of equipment comes in! I will always be contacting him. Weingartz is a awesome store and most times cheaper than other retail landscaping and tree stores
Took my snapper in to have drive belt replaced, and a parking switch replaced $542.00 extremely expensive, they called me a week later saying It was ready I got it home and tried cutting grass and the belts had been installed wrong and the switch was faulty, I had to take my lawnmower back, terrible mechanic, to return a piece of equipment without testing it is unprofessional. I absolutely would not recommend weingartz to anyone, total rip-off!!!
Today Jeffrey in the service & parts dept helped us and he made a world of difference in our visit. He was so knowledgeable and helpful! Also so friendly that we got to talking about lives outside of mowing. He told us all about services we plan to come back for and helped us with pricing multiple options and making an educated decision that we felt good about. He is an asset to the company! Great location!
Update: I wrote a negative review out of pure frustration, my aim should have been more at the manufacturer and not the vendor. Weingartz contacted me immediately after hearing my complaint and they rectified the problem immediately, they understood my frustration and took care of me. I value this kind of service and even though I said a Big Box store would be better, I retract that statement and apologize to the men and women who work at Weingartz.
My husband absolutely love power equipment specifically dealing with the lawn. He has purchased many items to beautify our home. We experience unwilling customer service today to the point that left both of us feeling like we weren’t welcomed in the establishment. After my husband was pushed off to another customer service representative, I had to go get in the car due to not wanting to say the obvious. At any rate, my husband finally came out to the car with the item he requested over the phone. My question is why the team members were so unwilling to sell/service us a leaf vacuum? What we do?
I thoroughly enjoyed purchasing my new Ventrac 4500Z from Weingartz. Ron Weingartz greeted me and was very helpful with my purchase. Derek Austin was my online salesman and did all the leg work to answer all my questions. A big thank you and God Bless to you both.p.s. Got to the church and stayed on the Ventrac for 7 hours, I accomplished so much I couldnt stop!Joe
I have been a loyal customer since 2000 and I am shocked at how disrespectfully I was treated by Aaron the sales person at Weingartz in Farmington Hills. I bought a Stihl leaf blower approximately 3weeks ago, opened it yesterday and the Easy Start is very frustrating. It doesn’t feel right so I called at exchange it. After leaving two messages he finally called me back the next day. Aaron was not willing to listen to my issue so I went there this morning. He was so incredibly disrespectful, to the point of being belligerent. He refused to let me talk to his manager, and even refuse to call him himself. I told him I used it once, and he accused me of “probably used to 20 times”. I said I’ve been a long-time customer and I’m sure we can work this out and I was willing loose the money since I want the cheaper item, he shrugged his shoulders. I said I’m sure that your manger can help me since I I am considering buying a Yanmar tractor next, he said snidely, “Sure you are.” Then he walked away from me. Unbelievable. I am waiting for a manager to call me Monday after asking the service guys for help. So I am sure there will be more info soon to post...The manager Alex called me and said essentially the same we will buy back you machine used for a lot less. My wife picked up my machine today because I do not want want to spend more money at Weingartz. The crazy part is they had the same disrespectful employee Aaron assigned to service her- outrageous! I expected more from a large store like them. The do NOT stand behind their equipment. And customer service is terrible.
Weingartz is a good store, but the manager Eric, has poor behavior with customers. I have watched it repeatedly after coming to the Farmington location. He is rude and talks down to customers and he is argumentive. Owning several companies and having numerous employees, it’s essential to make sure customer is treated with respect even if you disagree with them. Professionalism is a must, and kindness is vital to growing any business. His behavior is arrogant and rude to customers like it’s his store. This will not cause the company to grow, and I have pulled most of my business from Weingartz, and I know of others that also have. If I am his manager, I would have a serious talk with him.
First I would like to say this review is only for the Weingartz in Farmington Hills. I spoke to Mr. Weingartz on the phone and he seems like he truly cares about his business. Unfortunately, the Farmington Hills store doesn’t not appear to be the best in customer relations.I purchased parts for a snow blower, and the parts department sales person was knowledgeable and efficient. The problem started when my credit card was charged twice.I did not realize it until half way home, turned around and went back to the Farmington Hills store to have the situation resolved. At first they stated they had already voided a transaction, yet my credit card company said it was still an active charge. We went back and forth until I was sent to a “manager”, who told me to calm down and give it a day. I explained i wanted it taken care of. He gave me a void of the extra purchase, but again my credit company stated it was still an active charge. He became upset, took off his mask and told me he knew what he was doing. He literally raised his voice and when I turned to leave, he said, ‘My God’.I spoke to Mr. Weingartz and he stated he would handle the issue, he returned my call stating the charge would be removed, in fact both may have been removed. I informed him I wanted to pay for it, I didn’t want free parts. He stated someone from the store would call in a few days. I waited and realized both charges had disappeared from my card, so we went up to the store to pay the amount in cash. The same man who had yelled at me, approached my husband, my husband explained he wanted to pay the amount that had been removed. That same man stated, “ I remember you, you were with that lady who was spazzing out and acting like she was having a coronary over a charge.” My husband responded with, “ That lady is my wife and you are deprecating”.That man did not apologize just walked away. That’s the Customer Service at the Farmington Hills location, be very wary of how they talk to you or your spouse. If they disrespect customers in that manner, why would you want to spend your hard earned dollars at that store?
Came in for a local event for lawn care and landscaping. The staff welcomed us with open arms, showed us around the show room. Shout out to the manager for helping us get a new blower and finding parts for a broken down motor. This will be our go to store now knowing they will deliver any where in the country.
I needed a snowblower and was t commended a specific model. After calling around Weingartz was the only retailer that had the one I needed. I needed to know the size though, Weingartz wasnt close to me, so Id know if I needed to source a trailer or not to pick it up. When I called the Livonia store I was speaking with Jake. He almost seemed annoyed that I was asking questions about the size. He then told me I should get the one that was already put together. He told me the or ce I seen online wasnt accurate because they charge $29 for assembly and that I would definitely want it assembled bexiaee there is a lot more to put together than I think. I asked if there were any unassembled and he said he would check. He said there were and still tried to get to me to get the assembled. I asked the size and he didnt measure, he guessed and based on his guessing it was way too large for my Explorer. Jake then told me its bigger unassembled. He was not quite rude but not totally helpful and if anything, Id paint him as annoyed to have to deal with me. Based on that Id have given zero stars. My. Brother is who recommended Weingartz to me, I told him of this and he said he uses the Farmington Hills location and not the Livonia location. He told me to ask for JJ. So I made the drive out to the Farmington Hills location. Its quite a hike but I was immediately greeted and JJ was available. He was friendly and worked with me to get the snowblower into my Explorer. He helped me uncrate it and load it up too. JJ thanked me for making the drive all the way to his location and offered me a small gift as a token of that appreciation. Maybe its offered to everyone, I dont know, but it helped me feel like my travels to the store were appreciated. It took me an hour to get there. Id have given 5 stars after dealing with JJ at the Farmington Hills location but the same company also has Jake. He was the worst and definitely deserves mention. All that to put together was kinda a joke too. I was cursing at Jake while doing it. 5 bolts. Thats it. 2 are the connecting rod, 2 are holding the cables in place 1 holds the discharge chute support rod from lifting out of its sleeve. It took longer to get the sockets from my basement and head back out to the garage than it did to get it assembled. I can believe Jake. If you need any help make the drive to the Farmington Hills store and ask for JJ. Hes the best and wont make you feel like youre annoying him.
I always make my big landscape purchases here for equipment.Mike especially took care of me this last time and smoothed some stuff out, helping me out.Very grateful for his communication. Will be back as usual for everything in the future. Also, Tim does a great job, as well as the other employees.👍🏼
Went to store and asked to buy a certain model of mower. Sales person took my number and “would check” on availability. I asked how long it would take to check. I was told it could take 10 min or 3 hours. Anyways, I never received a call. Customer service has gone downhill.
Eric the service writer is snippy and does not give you correct information on service in regards to prices. They said you would get 7 blade sharpenings when you purchased a mower. I asked cause I needed service if that would be included and he said yes. When I went to pick up my mower they said it would be $29.95. He did reduce the price to $6.95 per blade and said well it was on you receipt when we picked up your mower. He should have told me that at the beginning. They only have to remove two bolt to take the blades off so I guess they feel that is worth $15 per bolt. Sorry I purchased this mower from then now.
Five star, total professional service... Bought a STIHL BG86 with gutter kit works like a charm. First time at store, great environment... and they put the blower together with a tank of gas and started the blower for me before I left. This was a major purchase for me and I felt more comfortable with their advice than at a big box hardware store.
I just bought a Sthil SH 56 CE...great pricing... extremely knowledgeable personnel... extremely friendly and make you feel like family... my sales representative his name was Gary up at Farmington Hills Weingartz such a great guy I will be purchasing more equipment in the near future thank you once again...
Weingartz knows outdoor equipment. We have a lawnmower, snowblower, leaf blower, power washer and chainsaw purchased from and maintained by Weingartz. If you have a problem with any of their products, they are very knowledgeable and helpful in finding the right solution. They serve the pros and the homeowners with repairs and tuneups in a timely fashion. They rival the big box stores in price and service what they sell.
Update from the old review. Not only we’re they rude but they threatened to call the police on me for not wearing a mask i have sensory issues and showed proof that and I felt that I cannot support this business also my Honda Lawn Mower was left in the rain followed by rust damaged front hight adjusters they didn’t do the tune up on my red max blower shame on you I’d like Dan Weingartz to call me I should have never had to go thru this. It’s so agitating to deal with this store
I ordered some mower parts and went in to pick them up. I was also going to possibly order/purchase a new 3025D tractor (around 16k). The guy behind the counter said i had to wear a mask. I told him that i would prefer to not wear a mask and he said i had to or i must leave the store and call from the parking lot to get my parts. This is crazy. I didnt even get a chance to talk to a sales guy about buying the 3025D tractor or get to pick up my parts. All of this over a mask. While i understand they have the right to do anything they want because its their business, they are trying to enforce something that isnt even a law in Michigan. Prior to this indecent, i have had nothing but good experiences at this particular Weingartz. I am sorry to say that i will no longer be a repeat customer here any longer (I have been going here for years and spent thousands of dollars). They have lost my business and i am sure others by trying to bully their customers into wearing a mask. Goodbye Weingartz.
I have purchased several pieces of equipment from Weingartz including a John Deere Gator and riding lawn mower, Bear Cat chipper/shredder, Stihl chain saw (2) and trimmer, and an Echo backpack blower. Every time I go in, I am treated with respect and never have been made to feel like I dont know anything (which I dont). All my questions were answered and the salesman has always guided me through my decision. They have always assembled my item and taught me how to use the it before I leave the store. They seem as excited as me for my new toy! Not all places treat a woman in this way. If Weingartz carries it, I am buying from them! Love their at-home service too.I wrote the above review 2 years ago and I am editing it in Jun 2020 to say again how much I love and depend on Weingartz to help me with my home and yard maintenance. As an owner of over 6 wooded acres, my equipment needs to be in top shape. Weingartz is always there to help, including their at-home annual maintenance packages. They havent let me down yet. Even in the spring, their turn-around times are reasonable for maintenance and repairs. I appreciate you, Weingartz!
Why I shop at Weingartz - I brought my lawn mower in on a Thursday evening just before closing. I had trouble putting on a new lawn mower blade (I thought I could do it). They had the tools and expertise to get me in and out in less than 10 minutes (and helped me lift it into my SUV). As long as I mow my own lawn, I will be their customer.
Bought a $16,000 Yanmar tractor from this location. Was informed they stock no parts for these machines. I cant even get an oil filter, air filter, hydraulic filter, or a fuel filter without ordering. Stood in line for 45 minutes and left with nothing. I feel less educated by standing there. Wont be back. Ill order it online and have it shipped to my business. I feel that is beyond poor.
I ordered a cub cadet 500 hw push mower online on may 28. Website said it would be in in 2 days. Called that Saturday......truck hasnt come in yet....call back Monday. Called back Monday....truck should be here any day now, we will call when it does. Never got a call. Called back a few days later. Someone tells me the truck will be in on the 20th. I wait a week and half or so and call on the 20. It isnt in yet. No sales people here Ill have them call you Monday morning. I called at Noon. That mower is on back order no idea when we will get it. I cancelled the order. I wont be back.
I ordered lawn mower blades for my Cub Cadet LT1050 on Amazon with Weigartz. The item description clearly stated these would fit. Not thinking anything of it, I left the box on the shelf for 2.5 months to use them later in the season. I went to install and they wouldnt fit. So, I went through the Amazon return procedure and this particular item required me to deal directly with Weigartz. So, whatever, no big deal. After some email exchanges with Devin he informed me that they couldnt accept my return because it was past the 60 days and they Sent me the correct part. I asked if they would be willing to make an exception for me due to the inconsistent item listing and they declined. These were $25 lawn mower blades, so Im not going to loose too much sleep over it, but its the principle. With that said, if you plan on dealing with these people, make absolutely sure what youre buying is correct and dont assume like I did.
Bought a lawnmower here. Salesman was friendly and knowledgeable. He wanted to get us the mower that was right for our lawn. He allowed us to pick up the mower on a different day when we would have a car to fit it. He also gave us a card for five free blade sharpenings.
Big kids playground. I was looking for a part for my snowblower and they had it in stock. The big box stores didnt have any options for me. Plus they can service your equipment and get it ready for the season. I have my eyes on an attachment to my riding lawnmower for the leaves from my oak tree. I will be back soon. Quality, knowledge and expertise are worth the added cost. They are the people you will turn to when the big box people fail you. Just choose them in the first place and save yourself some worries.
Horrible customer service. Ordered a part over the phone and was told it would cost $19.99 and they would call when it arrived. When I decided to show up after no call the part was over $40. When I questioned the price the store employee told me that they just quoted me the installation price not the part.?? I was never having them install anything. He was so rude.. if you can get your part anywhere else I recommend you do as weingartz will rip you off.
Got the same bag for my honda mower on line fron ebay for almost 1/2 the price they quoted me. I would of had to go there and pay for it before they ordered it also, then went back and picked it up when come in. Free shipping on ebay. That has got to kill there business. Money talks!!!
Dropped off a stihl chainsaw for handle replacement quoted 150 parts and labor. Saw was running still.Recieved a call for 600 to fix and they dismantled chainsaw. Picked it up in pieces, I did not ask for the saw to be torn apart only to put on a handle, completely dissatisfied and to top it off there was no bolts given back to put the saw back together. Will never again have there service look at my saws.
Awesome place. Utica store is where I shop, Mike Fattore in parts and service is my go to guy, he is very helpful and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with the larger purchases I have made as well. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Thanks again and as always I will highly recommend Weingartz. Dave G.
Piss poor service. I brought my one day old Honda lawn mower for service. The rear left height adjustment was not holding its position. They assured me they had all the parts needed in stock. They gave me a 7-8 day turn around time. I called to check status they informed me 8 days later that they have to order a part. Total waste of time. Returning the product and buying from Home Depot.
Im a long time Weingartz customer. They never try to over-sell you, they listen to you instead of telling you what they think. James was very thoughtful, patient with all my questions and extremely well-informed. Even though the mowers I looked at were also available at Home Depot, Weingartz price was the same, and its a much better value in my opinion because of their personal customer service. If any problems come up, they are the go-between for me instead of making me deal directly with Toro.
I visited the Weingartz in Farmington hills today an service was EXCELLENT!!! From the parts counter to the sales counter EVERYONE seemed pleasant and very welcoming. I spoke to a sakesman JJ that gave me a ton of information and advice in regards to starting my business and why I should purchase a certain mower. Everything he said made perfect sense and he wasnt a pushy salesperson that just tried to unload a mower on me. I will be back in February to buy the mower. Would recommend this established to any and every person that is looking to purchase lawn equipment. The employees are very knowledgeable, welcoming and professional!
Terrible experience. First time in, I had to service (under warranty) my portable generator and been assisted by a very impolite girl. Plus they fixed it without first calling me to agree on the fix. There is really no reason for you to go there, spend money, and have a terrible customer experience. Just go somewhere else.
Terrible!!! Dropped off my companys chainsaw for a blade shooting off, they replaced parts that werent related or broken and gave it back to me for 200$. Then I go to fire it up and it shoots the chain off immidiatley. So of course I take it right back. I go to pick it up and am told it is rejected for being fixed because the clutch and other parts are burnt out on it. The store manager tells me Im a liar and used the chainsaw with the brake on... I have ran a chainsaw for 14 years and for one didnt have the brake on. And two it shot off immediately. And now there is burnt up parts and I get it handed to me all apart in bags. He admitted his guys ran it through a log at their shop. So obviously the only explanation for why all my parts ( that were new because they had JUST replaced them unneedingly ) is someone there who didnt know what they were doing broke it And now I have to pay a second company to fix it who is actually reputable. This is bull and their customer service sucks. They are terrible at working on things here. I feel like no one there knows how to properly fix or diagnose a problem and they lie and scam people into fixing things that arent broke. If I could give them 0 stars I would
Weingartz is awesome! Just purchased a John Deere riding lawn mower and I love it. We have purchased several pieces of equipment from Weingartz and have received the same wonderful service even when purchasing small items. Service and sales are impeccable! Id recommend them to everyone above all others!
This is the place I go for all of my outdoor equipment. I bought a Cub Cadet XT2 from the about a year ago. Dont be fooled by the Cub Cadet and John Deere lines at Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc., they are the entry level models. You can only get the more robust models at authorized dealers. I also bought a Stihl chainsaw from here, no complaints about either purchase. The other benefit about Weingartz is that they have a repair shop in house so you dont have to worry about where you get your repairs or warranty work done. They also check all of the equipment that they sell before you take it home. This is the place to go for solid equipment that is sold by knowledgeable folks.
Be warned. Im sure they sell great products, but I took my lawnmower in for a torn pull cord and it never made it home. They billed me $180 for the cord and tune up, and it never started at the store. They later ADMITTED they may have done nothing to the mower except the cord. They then stated they wanted $400 to fix it for real the 2nd time around. Then called to state it couldnt be done, and had no idea what was wrong with it.When I went to pick it up since it couldnt be fixed it was in pieces, and now have scrapped it.Your choice to use them, but my experience was horrifying. I had a lawnmower that worked, and now have nothing.
We at Executive Property Maintenance have been partners with Weingartz for over a decade. James, JJ, and Brad provide the upmost awesome service. From parts to sales to advice. They give personalized service , actually care. Proud to say they are part of the gears that make us successful. Hats off to you guys.
I purchased a used Exmark 0 turn mower from Weingartz. Prior to buying it the salesman made sure I understood the high hours on the machine. He then explained that they could not guarantee longevity of the machine. He then said he would feel better if a commercial lawn mowing company parted this machine out. The reason he was telling me all of this is that he was concerned about me being happy and satisfied with the purchase I made. He was not out for himself or his company he was representing my interests.I purchased the machine despite his advice and have had great use and success so far after one year. The salesman was JJ Terrell and he was as good of a person to deal with as I have ever interacted with in a sales role. Congratulations on having him within your company.
Had terrible experience with leaf blower under warranty.Disclaimer: this is my first and only experience with WeingartzI was given a new leaf blower as a gift for Christmas when I moved into my new house. It was under warranty for one year. Recently well using it one day we put the wrong mixture of gas in the leaf blower and it seized up immediately.I did not know what happened but I took it to Weingartz to look into it and they told me it was not worth putting any money into and it should be scrapped. I couldn’t believe that the wrong mixture of gas running for only a couple seconds could possibly ruin this motor. After being told there was nothing they could do they hung up.When I went to pick up the blower they first couldn’t find it which makes me wonder if they weren’t planning to fix it themselves later. When they finally did manage to find it I pressed them on why they don’t take them apart and try. They said it’s “not financially feasible”.I’m not an idiot, I took it to someone else and within 10 minutes they had it opened, fixed and running. So much for Weingartz warranty!!!
I purchased a Honda home generator recently from this Weingartz location. My salesman was Alex J. He was extremely helpful with all aspects of the sale! His knowledge of the generator, transfer switch kits, special promotions from Honda and professional electricians was really customer focused. Alex also assisted with the pickup of my John Dere X300 for service when the generator was delivered. His follow-up with the service department with an estimated completion and return of my tractor was excellent! Ask for Alex J. when you visit this location, you will be completely satisfied!
Came in looking for a snow blower and found what I was looking for: a knowledgeable sales staff and great selection of products, with competitive prices. I will be back for future needs. I much prefer this place to the big box stores when looking at purchasing equipment
Still pending a final rating, but not looking good. All of the negative reviews on here relate to Service. Well, i took my John Deere wagon (that just pulls behind my D125 tractor) in yesterday for two flat tires. I was told it would be done today. So i made plans with my boss to leave early and beat traffic to go pick it up. But, after reading crappy reviews for service, i decided to call first. At 4:40 i was told it isnt done. I replied and said, It is two tires and was told it would be done today. Mary, I believe, was very polite the whole time, and said that they didnt notice the due date and she would have it prioritized now. Even though i appreciate the effort on Marys part, why cant I take them at their word? OR at least get a phone call back saying, Hey, we had to order a part, etc.???? If it is done today, i give them a 4. If it isnt, it should be a 1.Follow up: wagon hadnt even been touched yet. Two promised times, neither one met. Didnt receive a call either time.Gary was polite and agreed to have it done this morning and agreed to deliver back to my house. He did do both. Please, either meet your promised dates and times or CALL US!!!!
Horrible experience with the service department. Brought my new Cub Cadet XT2 mower in for service and it was returned to me with DENTS in the steel body and GOUGES in the plastic hood. Is this the way they treat other peoples property? My mower looks like it was in the demolition derby. I will not recommend this place. If you like your stuff to look new and well cared for, dont bring it here because they will trash it.
Above and beyond! I recently purchased a new snow thrower at Weingartz that didnt quite live up to expectations due to my exceptionally steep driveway. I called Jimi (courteous, professional and an outstanding individual), explained my issues and within the hour, a replacement model was delivered - during a snow storm none-the-less! Truly amazing and unexpected! Weingartz is one of the few companies that truly lives up to top-notch customer service and hassle-free sales experience. The snow thrower is my second purchase at Weingartz and definitely wont be my last.
I took my mower to this place to get it fixed, white smoke was coming off of it. They kept it 5 days and charged me $130. Once I started mowing, I noticed that the blade was loose, took it again, repair guy insisted that I have to change the blade. Kept it 3 days and charged me $80 and changed the blade. Now, my mower makes very loud noise. My mower is 2 yrs old and it is Craftsman. I think these guys only cater to large mowing companies; they just rip small guys like myself. Don’t go here.
All I needed was a simple push mower priming bulb, thought Id go to Weingartz as new to area and heard all the advertising. First parts rep says got to have model number, seemed to much but ok go home get model number, come back different rep says wrong number need engine number not mower, ok cant you just go back in parts room and match up? Says I wont know were to look. Stop at ACE in downtown, what looks like 18 yoa girl says can I help you oh yes we do let me get you one, 5 minutes out the door with the part. Looks like Weingartz just sell expensive toys with no service concerns, glad I learned early.
My history with weingartz has been hit and miss. They do have a great selection of Stihl products and have bought many tools and parts from them for that reason. But if you have a lawn mower or string trimmer they dont carry in store they wont service it. Just today I brought a ryobi trimmer in, with cash in hand because it badly needs a tune up. The service guy quickly points out that they wont service it and refers me to two places 10 miles away. I call one and theres not answer the second one tells me I told them not to refer their customers to me. Now I get that a business can say, we wont do a, b, or c for any reason they want, but turning down making money on servicing my trimmer makes no sense. Ryobi brand trimmers are made by MTD, who makes several different brands of lawn equipment, such as Cub Cadet (which by the way this store is an authorized dealer of). They say they carry parts for Briggs and Stratton engines but if that engine is attached to a Troy-Bilt mower then they wont help you. I needed a belt for my mower, I told them the specs and they couldnt/wouldnt find the part because they dont carry my mowers brand. So I went home took the belt off and brought it in and they had it. This is a good one, few years ago I wanted to buy a cub cadet walk behind. The salesman told me those mowers have all steel decks, theyre gonna rust out in 5-10 years unlike these Honda mowers here with their aluminum decks. First off bullcrap dude, why are you carrying a brand if you dont want to sell it to me? Does Cub Cadet know that you dont let customers buy their products from you? Should someone let them know that you dont want to sell their products? I was so put off by this sales guy, I went to lowes and bought a Troy-Bolt because its an MTD product and probably just a rebadged cub cadet anyways. I cant figure out weingartz for the life of me, I want to give them my money, they are close and ultra convenient for me to bring tools and equipment to but they refuse to take it, for reasons that are a bunch of crap. Its like if I bought a Lincoln brand car into a Ford dealership and they refuse to take it because its a different brand of car even though its just a Ford Taurus with a Lincoln badge on it. Look weingartz, if you hate doing business with people then why are you even a business?
Sad, I waited inline at the parts counter for 10 minutes only to find out they didnt have a John Deere maintenance kit for my 445. Really? I would think a Deere dealer would atleast have a couple of all the kits in stock. There are still alot of 445/425s still out there
I was in late March and bought a new exmark mower and I had a micro mulch kit and a jack installed the bolts and nuts were not tighten and the blades put on upside down on the mulch kit and the jack did not work right and they dont know why well come to find out when they did the setup they did not check the air in tires so that is why the jack did not work the air in the tires control the steering so if they dont know how to do a micro mulch kit or install a jack so it works right cant put blades on right now can they fix a mower when it breaks down I had a bad experience and would not recommend them and I do not think I will be back

2022-06-12Legit walked in, got to test mow(drive) in the parking lot, agreed to buy, strapped it to the top of my car. Got it home, assembled it (basically no assembly) and began mowing. Truly am a fan of Toro Mowers. Thank you Weingartz for the painless sale. Will return in the future. 😁

2022-04-07Ive always had a good experience with the service men that come to my home for pickup/delivery for my equipment. They are always friendly and helpful. I also purchased my riding mower from here about 6-7 years ago. Taking one star away because the call center is awful. I dont get to talk to anyone from my home store but get routed instead to the call center. They ask for information that should already be in my account, which they can easily pull up. I understand that the stores need help with customer calls but the cs reps make more problems, rather than solve them, for both customers and service techs.

2022-03-19We purchased an Exmark Staris 44” from weingartz to add a stand on mower to our fleet. Tom Hamilton assisted with the sale and was very helpful and knowledgeable. He returned e-mails and phone calls promptly. The mower was ready to go with a full tank of gas when we arrived for pickup. I’d recommend anyone needing outdoor power equipment go here first, and don’t waste your time shopping around. This is a first class operation.

2022-07-01Took my cub cadet there for service. My zero turn would run, but not engage. After a week in the service department. I received an estimate for over $2200. More than half the cost of an brand new one. After going over the details of said estimate, it was clear that they were try to take me to the cleaners. I came and picked up my machine. After have them replace the battery and change my ignition switch. Which they over charged me based on their written estimate over a hundred dollars. And even tried to charge me an $120 diagnostic fee because I didn’t allow them to “fix” all the thing they claim I needed. At any rate with the help of YouTube and Amazon. I was able to change the drive belt myself for $20. When I asked them just to replace it and not worry about other things they wrote me up for. They still were trying to get me for over $700. I can’t believe they would do this to their customers. I understand Weingartz, is a business. And is in business to make money, but this is just highway robbery. And dishonest business practices. I won’t be back.

2022-06-21I drove a long way to come here for ExMark parts. But, unfortunately, my local dealer in Howell no longer supported them, and they never gave a hoot about anything anyway.I drove to Novi, walked in the door, and the difference was incredible, a building full of people that liked or even loved their jobs and jumped through hoops to assist me.Weingartz is well worth the drive on a Saturday, with construction traffic and everything else. I am impressed! The visit was painless, and I didnt feel like I was a bother! On the contrary, I felt very welcomed even though I was only buying mulching blades for my mower!

2022-06-08Fantastic mower! The Cub Cadet ZT1 50 Zero Turn mower has exceeded my expectations. Cuts great and is easy on your lawn. Easy to operate and super maneuverable. I had a Husqvarna Z560l before my Cub and it was really hard on the lawn. You couldnt turn that thing without tearing up the grass! Part of the problem was it was a large heavy commercial mower. The Cub Cadet is light enough that you can turn it pretty much any way you want and it doesnt dig a hole in your grass. Its actually not a bad ride either. I have a pretty bumpy yard and I was supprised at how well it took the bumps. Thanks Tom Hamilton for recommending the ZT1 50!

2022-03-24I bought a Exmark Radius E-Series from Weingartz of Farmington Hills about 4 years ago for home use. Ive managed to do all of the maintenance for it myself and got the things to do so from Weingartz....until! The time came up for hydraulic fluid and filters to be changed, not wanting to take on the challenge I called Weingartz to do the work. To make my life a little easier I later called and added more things to get done. I used their transport service and got it back finding some of the work had not been completed? I went in and spoke with Matt Macklin in parts and service. They had it on their records but some how got missed. Matt was very apologetic and I think went beyond what I expected to be done. He had it picked up and returned, job completed at no charge! THANK YOU Matt Macklin This is my second mower from Weingartz.
