Comment: My family and I are newer to the area and when my 2021 Honda Civic check engine light came on yesterday I was nervouse about where to take my car that I could trust. Wittmeir Auto Center Service is the place I would now recommend to anyone! I worked with Calvin who provided me reassurance and updates. They were able to diagnose my vehicle problem and take care of the situation quickly.Again, I would recommend this service center to anyone. Ask for Calvin he will take excellent care of you.

Comment: I went in to get my car battery replaced on 11/4/2023. As I left, I noticed my key fob did not work and my speedometer would flicker before turning the ignition. I couldn’t take it back as I had to go back to work. On 2/19/2024, I went in for my scheduled appointment for an oil change and mentioned if they can please look into the flickering of the speedometer and my key fob since it quit working right after the car battery replacement. I should mention that my key fob was working before Wittmeir replaced my car battery. Carl wanted to charge me $195 for a diagnostics which is terrible customer service as what I asked them to look into was working just fine before they replaced the car battery. I left without getting my oil changed and I won’t return.

Carlos the mechanic that I was dealing with was so cool and patient with me.I used the Ford pass and had someone pick my truck up for it’s service! Comment: Honestly I would avoid this specific location if you need to take in your car. Each time Ive gone they’ve been nothing but rude and have terrible customer service. I had to get my tire replaced so i asked if my warranty covers the tire that i needed replaced, and instead of checking he just said no. This guy, i didn’t get his name, didn’t bother to check. I ended up going to Americas tire and they were so accommodating and set me up with an amazing offer.The honda location at Yuba city is open on Saturdays, i find the drive worth it for the customer service and the promptness.

Comment: Sold my daughter a lemon! 3rd time back in service in less than 3 months! The first time back was hours after leaving the dealership. Now they are having issues fixing it in addition to finding more problems that is not covered. Unreal. They dont seem to care! Want a satisfied customer fix the problem not just take the down payment and then try to get more out of it. Not even trying to help and fix the situation. Comment: There service center is horrible at documenting notes on important issues like the 9.9 miles per gallon my 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD gets, and I brought it in to be serviced before the warranty was up with the transmission slipping that it also has done from the time I bought it and I was told nothing was wrong with it now my transmission is out at 126,000 miles, this is my second Chevrolet Silverado I have ownedThe first one I traded in because the transmission did the exact same thing, so for $6827.00 I can buy another flawed transmission from Whittmeier Chevrolet?Or for $6100.00 I can take to Dirks Automotive & Transmission In Oroville,California and they will rebuild the transmission and fix Chevrolets flaws and warranty it for 100,000 milesI AM NOT ONE TO WRITE REVIEWS BUT THIS WAS A MUST THANKS FOR SCREWING ME OVER.

Comment: Bought a used F150 for $30,000, the most important feature I required was a 3.5 Liter eco boost engine as I would be towing a light trailer. The salesman, who is either incompetent or straight up dishonest, sold me a 3.5 Liter non eco boost truck and I didnt notice the deception for a couple of weeks. Ive been back many times to give Wittmeier a chance to show some integrity but not once would a manager come from the back room to meet with me. Personally, Ill never do business with Wittmeier again. To anyone reading this I say let the buyer beware, dont let Wittmeier make you a victim.

Comment: Tried to sell me unnecessary parts for my car. Paid $195 for a diagnostic for them to tell me my alternator was bad. Wanted to charge me $1000 for alternator replacement. Went to get a second opinion and the alternator is fine since new battery was installed. Very shady dealing by the dealership. At the end they did make it right by refunding the diagnostic fee, however I would not trust them enough to take my car back there.

Comment: Would give 0 stars if i could. horrible place to service your car. honda especially. we brought our car in, in the morning for a simple transmission fluid change and alignment check. we come back around 4pm when they tell us our car is done and they kept it all day and did absolutely nothing to it! nothing. told us the machine for the alignment check wasn’t working but didn’t even do the transmission fuel. they wasted our time. waiting all day in the heat or in their janky waiting room.i am absolutely displeased. i will never return here. go somewhere else if you want your car to be taken care of properly

Went to les schwabb and replaced the tires again. And whoever answers the service department calls should get some retraining. I will preface by saying Nothing I hate more than a vehicle that won’t get me from point A to B and back again!! Grrrr! I love my Ford Escape! It is perfect for me, I know not for everyone but I have owned mine for a long time, no worries, no problems, never failed me. UNTIL: RECENTLY!! I really thought I was going to have to buy a new vehicle! I also love no car payments! Well, FOUR (4) times in less than three (3) weeks, it broke down on me, had to have it towed. I don’t live in Chico so I was stuck, hot waiting for a ride, towed vehicle to Ford Service, Wittmeier was the one, they fixed what they thought was issue, nope, keep it for a week next time, tried everything, changed this, checked that. Nope broke down again! Then it was a challenge for me and them. They had never come across something like this before, they worked and worked and tried things THEN…they found the problem!! This is one for the Books! They ordered the part, fixed it and WAH-LA!!!! FIXED! NO CHARGE!!!!! They had never run across this before, they were determined to figure it out, they felt bad that it broke down on me so many times, they had to make it right and they did!! Comment: I have always had my Honda CRV serviced by Wittmeier since I bought it from them new in 2016, but I was disappointed with my last service visit. The service rep tried to sell me a lot of unnecessary products and whatnot (oil conditioner/additive when doing a synthetic oil change before the service interval?!), but it was pretty apparent it was just an up sell pitch and he was hoping I wouldnt know the difference, and when I questioned him about it he changed his tune quickly. It wasnt that he was pushy per se, but he didnt discuss these options with me and more implied they SHOULD be done (claimed they were recommended, though no one has ever mentioned, let alone recommended, them before), and already had them added on to the work order before I even okayed them. They threw in a free car wash (which has never happened before and I read it as a good faith gesture because he knew I was pretty dissatisfied) but this was too little too late. What makes me most upset is that if my wife had been the one to bring the car in she likely would have left with a bill well over a thousand dollars (more than double what it should have cost and what I ended up paying). Suffice it to say, I will be doing my own services in the future, and I will think long and hard before bringing my CRV or my new Odyssey in to Wittmeier for services in the future (and rest assured Ill be going through the work order with a fine toothed comb if I do).

Comment: BEWARE - Wittmeier preys on young adults and talks them into buying a vehicle - even though they canNOT afford it! Their finance department continues to authorize the loan and sets them up with a ridiculous loan at an incredibly high percentage rate. They set my son up with a loan that was dramatically more than his income could support, and at 12.63% interest! Had we not intervened to help him out, he would have defaulted on the loan, lost the vehicle, then lost his job, then lost his apartment. They should be ashamed of themselves for preying on innocent kids.

Comment: Steve at the Service Center was rude and degrading towards me when I brought my Mustang in for a paint chip on the bumper. The paint flaked off as my husband was washing the car for the first time and Steve told me that’s not what happened. As if he was there when it happened, I guess? He told me clearly it was an impact. I told him no, there’s was no impact, it happened in front of our eyes as it was being washed. He called me sweetheart as if I was a little girl that didn’t know what I was talking about, and said “well maybe it wasn’t you, but someone definitely hit you.” I laughed out loud! Comment: When I showed up a Ford guy from service came out, and told me he was going to have to break my door pannel to get my lock door open .then told me they wouldnt fix it .I was shocked to think they would say it and not even see is the electronic door lock was even getting power to open frist . Since I told him it works some times it go on for months working then stop . I believe they need to check for a short or fail in signal from antenna or fuse, before even thinking of breaking a customer door .I life that place .

We had to have our vehicle towed in, and he made it so we didn’t have to show up until the work we approved was completed and vehicle was ready to go. The quote was reasonable and the total cost in the end actually came in a bit under what we initially approved. Maria was helpful as well. Everyone we spoke to was kind and made this an easy process. A car wash would have been nice, I guess we didn’t spend enough. Oh well, we still are appreciative and will use them again when necessary.

Comment: Oh my goodness. I bought a new Honda from them back in January. The experience was stressful but I mainly blame it on myself. Anyways, About a week or so ago I heard a noise coming from my back tire. If I jacked the car up and spun the tire, It would make a pretty bad noise. I took it in, the test driver could not hear the noise (granted, it wasnt terribly loud). So I repeated to both the test driver and the one writing up the service order (both were professional) that it was the driver side rear tire that was causing the issues. About an hour and a half later my car is pulled out. The mechanics in the shop claim there was no noise and just blamed it on the alignment. I get home, read exactly what they did, and sure enough they only checked the two front tires. So I wasted half a day driving to and from Chico only to find out that the problem was not even checked correctly. The only reason Im not giving a one star is because I was treated good. However, I dont know if this mess up was due to a lack of communication on their part or just didnt bother checking. Either way, for something this simple I wont be trusting my car with them again. Im just very disappointed.

Comment: Because of a technical issue with their utilities, they didnt do the work I had brought the car in for. They never called me to tell me they couldnt do it. I had to text someone who worked there to find out about my car. When I picked it up, the AC barely blew any cold air. I am mechanically inclined, and I think they removed some r-134a from the coolant system. Poor customer service, poor communication, poor work performance, and even worse, lost trust. I will NEVER bring my car back to this service shop. Walmart service center provides better service than Wittmeier Ford Service Center.

Comment: Ive brought my cars to Wittmeier for every scheduled service, and was never as happy with the service I received as I was with this last one - maybe they had a new team, or maybe the planets aligned just right, I dont know, but not only did they check everything, rotate tires, change oil, etc. but for the first time ever - they washed my car! I was thrilled, because it needed it 😅Ive bought three cars from Wittmeier, so I bring them there for service, and they have never washed my car after a service before. I love it, and hope its now part of the service!Plus the staff I communicated with were very friendly and helpful - thats how its supposed to be done. 5 stars!

So glad I chose a Honda over the other vehicles I was looking at. I know its hard out there, new car inventory is low, but if you know what you want, the Whittmeier team can find it. A big thank you to CSR Jessica with the Honda team for taking the time to show me how to get connected up to my phone, and dial in all the electronic features. Also to the main man in finance, who managed to find me an insane deal on an extended warranty when I couldnt afford the cost of something that will cover and protect my car for the next 10 years!! Claimed that grease was leaking from my transfer case (which uses transmission fluid) and was being slung around under my truck. We have bought 5 cars over a twenty year period from Wittmeier Honda, all a positive experience. I can’t explain how negotiations fell apart so badly and so quickly this time. We were even prepared to buy the car outright without financing. Our salesperson seemed to lack experience and expertise, unable to answer many of our questions about the car. That’s not a big deal. We could easily look it up and get the answer online. Their people skills also lacked and were awkward while showing the car, and in negotiations. They really seemed like they didn’t want to make a sale and made us feel unwelcome to coming back even. I’m really sorry and bewildered by the experience. We were looking forward to continuing our many year relationship with another purchase from Wittmeier.

Comment: Great car buying experience overall, but VERY unhappy with multiple credit hits for financing that I never authorized nor requested. I walked in with my own financing and was very, very explicit about that, having mentioned it to a point of honestly being excessive, and yet still I have received letters from two different lenders (including their own in house financing, which always nets dealers more) and watched hits come onto my credit report. Worst of all, its not just me, its my husband as well since both of our names are on the car. I tried requesting a copy of the form where I authorized them to run our credit (which I do not recall actually signing, FYI - and I am that person that reads the fine print, as well) but was unable to reach the finance department, and I have had NO follow up on the voicemails left.Be very, very careful with the financing. Im now dealing with the dispute process and am tangled in a web with 4 or 5 different companies, which is absolutely ridiculous considering how vocal we were about our existing financing.

I have a Honda CRV that is tough, durable, comfortable, a favorite of mine and I want it to last. HOWEVER, I do have a couple of suggestions to improve things for Wittmeier. First, better signage of where to go and what to do when I get there (just moved to Chico from Detroit area) because it is confusing and, frankly, not welcoming. I also would suggest improving the waiting area. In the Detroit area, it seems the auto dealers compete for the best waiting area experience. I do not think Wittmeier does. I would suggest they get on a plane and go visit LaFontaine or one of the big dealers in Detroit. Good coffee, great working space and a variety of experiences. That would make this dealer truly 5 star. My other suggestion is for Wittmeier to dream of what would be a STUNNING experience, and then double down on that. Amaze customers, do not just “please” them. I’d be happy to speak in person to someone, if they care enough to get to the top.

Comment: The worst part of owning a ford is having to have it serviced at this dealership and because all the problems have been recalls or defective parts covered under warranty, Ive had to bring it here.The transmission went out and because i had already had it fixed at this dealership, I called to get it back in. I was told they only had 1 transmission technician and it would be 5 weeks. So i had to have it towed to the dealership 30 miles away. While there they said I needed a new battery.So now the car is not starting right so I take it to a local mechanic suspecting its the battery. The mechanic tested it on his machine as I stood there. It said the battery was 102% and good. The mechanic said it would have to go to the dealership to be checked. The next morning it was dead. I towed it to Wittmeir Ford and left it.I get a call the next day that it was the battery. I told him I had just had it checked. He said this is a ford battery that needs to be tested on a ford machine. I told him it was under warranty. The service person told me i had to have Corning Ford call him to verify when i bought it. I called Corning Ford and asked rhem to call the chico ford with my warranty info. This service writer told me I had to have Whittmeir Fird call him. I said but he asked you to call him. So i call back to Whittmeir and ask again if he will call the other service writer. They were both too busy to call each other. So when i went for my car, Whittmeir told me i had to pay for it and then I would be refunded. It was $105 for the battery and $200 to test the battery to tell me it was dead.Long story short, its been a month and i have not been refunded. I was told they were never supposed to charge me for warranty work. Ive made numerous phone calls. Corning Ford sent the warranty paperwork to Whittmeir weeks ago. Last week i got a message saying they were mailing me a check. They never verified if they had my current address. My call was not returned so I drove over there. They did not have my current address and they didnt seem to care when i gave it to them because they didnt even wait to get my zip code. Im told now they dont have the paperwork. I said it was sent weeks ago. The service writer told me the employee that had my paperwork no longer works there so they need to get it again. I dont know if this means the employee took my personal info and paperwork with him wgen he quit. So im back to nobody has time to call each other to get the paperwork again.Im going to end up having to pay another dealership to take this car off my hands.

Honestly the reputation is definitely lived up to. They are the modern day martha stewart of theft from new sales staff. I was treated like well you guessed it the minority these good ol boys are sure to welcome anyone not white but there is another gentleman by the name of AL an indian GSM who is a notorious liar who will tell you one thing and say he never said it. Oh here is the kicker they have a h.r. department but if you take advantage of that then you will be written up then fired a month later after pushing out 7 cars in 9 days you will be fired where Al and said lacky will refuse to say why. Not a place i would recommend buying a car unless, actually dont buy from here or you can the beauty of choice im just expressing just the tip of the iceberg experience i had.

Comment: Be careful here. I bought a truck here. F250. Very nice truck. I ordered the mud flaps for it and they said they would be in, in about one week. I got a call saying the mud flaps are in but they dont match. I was like what do you mean they dont match. Max said that he explained all that to me at the time I purchase them (I would NEVER order non matching stuff!!). I said no you did not I would have remembered that. So this is just another scam that they pull on you. I had to pay 100 dollars extra for a matching pair. READ EVERYTHING, DONT TRUST ANYONE THERE. the only reason I gave them 2 stars is due to the fact the truck is pretty awesome.

We felt no pressure what so ever. We test drove several vehicles and finally decided on one but another one caught our eyes and we asked if we could drive that one, she happily obliged. Given that they open at 7:30 and people need to be to work at 8... 2 stars at best.However, I had an issue with a new air filter they put in and Eric Diamond went way above and beyond the call of duty to bring me a new one on his way home, in Willows. 5+ stars for that incredible service. Comment: Prices for certain services tend to be fairly priced for OEM parts. The staff is very friendly, and they offer many amenities. If you have an appointment, don’t expected to be treated as such. My 8:30 appointment for an oil change was still incomplete. When asking staff, they informed me that they were unable to receive an update on my car. Meanwhile, I saw 3 cars come in after mine for the same service and get released back to their owners. If you have time and are looking for an OEM oil change, you could try here. If you don’t have the time, go elsewhere.

Diamond was professional to work with, everyone else, sales person, service rep at counter and even the person that handed me my keys was unprofessional. The salesman that took my car, the day before, didnt communicate with the service department. I tried giving him my name he said not to worry about it, my info loads automatically from the bar code. I said its my first time here, he assured me it would still come up. My car sat there for a full day before being looked at. I had an appointment for 9 am, for a Ford Fusion, there is a Ford Fusion sitting outside?? Maybe look in the glove box to see who it belongs to? I called at 3:30pm to find out they hadnt touched my car. Service took two weeks. When I checked out they didnt give me a breakdown of work done to my car, waited for 15 min to get checked out, there was no one at the counter. The person that handed me my keys had headphones in his ears, didnt ask for my name or ID, and when I asked if the car was good to go, he removed an ear bud, grunted and said I guess. You are providing a service that could only be done at a dealership you guys need to get it together. I was actually advised not to go here and to go to the one in Orville, I live in Chico, I should have listened.

If I could give negative stars I would. Yesterday, my mother went there to look at their used Honda CRV inventory. She was met by a young sales person named Joe. He put heavy pressure on her to buy a new CRV, which I understand is what car sales people do, but once he got her in the office things got scary. He wouldnt give her her car keys back despite her asking several times for them, her saying she felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave, wasnt ready to make a purchase, and needed more time to think. HE KEPT HER THERE FOR 6+ HOURS. NO FOOD, NO WATER, AND WOULD NOT GIVER HER KEYS BACK. Criminal. Now, my mom is older and doesnt have a lot of experience buying cars or dealing with pushy sales people, but what he did was predatory. I am fuming. After wearing her down for 6 hours she ended up leaving with a new CRV in a color she doesnt even like! She tried calling relatives for help or to come get her with no luck and eventually - fearful, weak, and exhausted - she caved and signed for the car just so she could get out of there. She came home so distraught I thought someone died! She went back with someone right away, but of course they wont take the car back or even apologize. Now I understand my mom could have done things differently, not signed, walked out, etc. and that car salespeople are generally really pushy, but this man took advantage of a vulnerable, older woman who dared go to their car lot alone and bullied her until she bought a car. He held her, basically against her will by keeping her car keys, until he got what he wanted. My mom is a retired teacher and upstanding member of this community. I will NEVER go to Wittmeier again for anything and will tell all of my friends and family not to as well. I would strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. I will be contacting Honda and the BBB to report this.

A tail light cover got a couple of tiny cracks during the work on my car, and they were quick to let me know about it and replace the cover at no cost to me. The cracks were small enough that I may not have noticed them, but they didnt let that stop them from making it right. I highly recommend them!

I had ordered replacement ignition keys off of Amazon to have cut and programmed at the service center. They informed me that they couldnt cut the keys because the cheap metal damages their machine. They sold me a new set of blanks for $15 each and cut and programmed them too! Thats a darn good price for a stealership. The staff was very curtious and did everything in a timely manner and I waited in the lobby and spoke with other staff members about a dog I had brought with me. I dont like dealerships but these folks seemed to be genuinely interested in helping a customer out.

I brought my daughters car into service for an oil change and rotate tires because she was about to take a trip and the next day her tire went flat. America’s tires told us the tires were all unsafe to drive on and the flat could not be repaired because the tires were so bad...Wittmeier put my daughter in danger by not telling us about condition of her tires. My suspicion is that they lied about even rotating her tires! Then we tried to turn in our leased vehicle to buy it and they refused to help us because it was a weekend...we had to drive to Roseville Automall where they were wonderful!!! Worth the drive to get helpful, nice people at Roseville Honda instead of the rude employees at Wittmier who are apparently too busy to help customers and are too incompetent to rotate tires. Comment: Tried to rip me off for $1,800 for a light bulb. Car was under factory warranty. Actual cost was $164.00 paid by Lincoln. Argued for two days about bumper to bumper warranty. They were supposed to put me in a rental car and didn’t until the last minute. Told me parts on “National Hold” and not available for two weeks. Stated the entire rear tail light assembly had gone bad. When they thought I was NOT under warranty they were going to rip me off. Not a reputable service center. Was told my warranty might cover it after they checked on the coverage. I was told they would call me with an answer before any work was performed. I just went in to have somebody take a look at the right front brake disc to see what I should do to deal with a noise problem and what appears to be a deep score in the face, possibly from a foreign object getting caught in the mechanism. The guy (Christian) wouldnt even go out to see the car. He just asked if I had an appointment, like I was garbage if I didnt have one and shouldnt be bothering him. I came there to see about making an appointment--I have never had to make an appointment to have a two-minute inspection and a discussion of how to deal with a possible problem.This is BAD customer service. My car is under warranty, my desire to have somebody look at the problem with the brake was completely reasonable, and the response was just more toe jam. I dont need it. Ill look for warranty and/or repair and maintenance somewhere else.

Comment: The WORST customer service I have ever had. My car has been there, off and on, for the entire week, I went in to get a simple ignition lock issue fixed. First I purchased a new $175 key, which did not help (after I told the Adviser it probably was not the key, since it worked fine in the door). Had to go back again and get the ignition fixed. While doing this, they broke two other items, that had been working perfectly. Now I had no wind shield wipers, and faulty turn signals. Had to go back again and after 3 more hours they still had not fixed the turn signals. The Adviser and mechanic acted so surprised that they werent working, even after I had told the Advisor several times (one of two reasons I had to return yet again) and he had typed it into their computer.The communication is horrible. The Adviser would tell me three hours, then overnight, then (surprise) its already been done. Every time I called there, I just got the run around. When I asked for a Manager, I was put on hold, and then disconnected (several times). The Adviser knew I was on foot and to call my cell phone, which he never did. When I finally got back home Friday afternoon I found that he had left a message at my house in Paradise. Crazy!!! So a week later, over $600, and still no turn signals. I will NEVER go back there again.

While communicating with Mr. Santos about this service needed on my vehicle, he was immediately apprehensive about completing service requested. Comment: I hate Wittmeier Auto Center. I cant get an appointment for an oil change and that makes it kind of hard when I live up in Forest Ranch. Twice I have pulled in to the service aisle and waited for 10 minutes. There was no other customers in the aisle but the service writers were too busy to help me. One writer actually told me to find someone else. Finally I start walking around and found a service writer who looked very frazzled. He told he might be able to start my oil change in about 2 hours. Wow. I decided to drive away and find someone else to change my oil. I hope I never need to go back to Wittmeier. I worked at a Ford dealership for over 30 years and I would have been fired if I couldnt serve my customers better than that. The rudeness is unforgivable. They had changed the person that was helping me three different times, every single one of them knew I was there to lease a car told me they had a great deal going on and the car was 14,999 that I would need a co signer . I got a co signer who has amazing credit, we got approved and signed all the papers the price had also changed from 14,999 to 19,000. Told me I only got the deal if I bought the car not leased it mind you they all knew I was leasing and told me I was getting it for the cheaper price, and then told me I couldnt leave with the car had to bring in another pay stub but that I was already approved. Comment: I do not trust them at all, my experience was with the Ford Deparment. I took my vehicle in for a specific repair on the rear end. It was an initial charge for $151.00 to run diagnostics on it. I expected this being that it was a dealership. They end up driving it around and experience exactly what I had already explained to them what the issue was on my rear end. They call me back explaining I need additional repairs on front end components and there will be an additional charge of $151.00 because the differential would need to be taken apart by their certified mechanic and the mechanic would not be in until the following business day after the weekend. They were trying to bill $300.00 before a single part was removed or inspected properly. They have poor business practices and I would not recommend trusting their evaluations on repairs for a fair price.

Comment: I just took my Ford C-max in for a recall issue. My door lock assembly came out of my drivers side door. They got me in right away, and that was the last thing the service department did correctly. I was assigned a service writer named Eric Scarberry. He was a bully from the beginning. He told me the handle of my door would not be covered. When I questioned that, he began his bullying. I asked him if he could please talk to my boyfriend, as he knows more about cars, and Mr. Scarberry argued with him. As it turned out, the handle was covered, which makes Mr. Scarberrys behavior even more disturbing. I have no idea why Mr. Scarberry was so contrary from the beginning. He could have said, I am not sure if the handle is covered. Let me check with the technician, and I will get back to you. It was almost as if he just wanted to be a bully. I have purchased 2 cars from Whitmeier, and all I can say is, they are much nicer when they are selling the car. I will not be buying another car from them. It just isnt that hard to be nice to your customers. Why you would choose to bully them is beyond me. I guess that is why the dealership has a 2 1/2 star rating.

Comment: We were traveling and got a flat. I called the dealer because no one else could get that tire size for 4-5 days. Whittmeier said they would have it at 10 am the next day. I called a 12 noon the next day and was told they had the tire and had made a 1:30 appointment for me. I arrived early. They took the car and my information. I waited for about one hour. I watched Joe the service writer leave and drive away. A mechanic came in and told the cashier about the problem. ( I was sitting close but she did not apparently think I heard). She said that Joe was gone and that he will just have to wait another 40 minutes. When Joe finally returned, I saw them get together and talk. They came over and told me that they had ordered the wrong tire and they could have the correct tire tomorrow. They had not even taken my tire off yet. They left me two hours until 3:30 before telling me. It takes two minutes to check a tire size and 10 minutes to change a tire. Please do not use this dealership!!!!!

Comment: Horrible customer service. Dropped our car on a Friday, was told to call first thing Monday. We call and the front desk lady blew us off, told us to wait half an hour. Called back, forgot who we were, gave us some line about too many customers to check in. She then got rude as we calmly explained to her how lines work and it cant go from 4 people ahead of us to 7 ppl if we are in a line. Got rude again and told us our mechanic would call when he can. Thanks, all we needed to know was if they even ran a diagnostic.Rude customer service reps and horrible prices. Coming from the Bay Im blown away at how rude these people are.

Comment: DO NOT COME HERE FOR SERVICE!Being relatively new to Chico, we brought our Minivan in for its timing belt/water pump service. After paying the bill, I felt pretty confident we had been ripped off. So I called 3 other Honda dealerships in the Sacramento area for estimates, and sure enough, Wittmeiers bill was $400 higher than each of the others. When I came back and showed the Service Manager the estimates from the other Honda dealers, he took down my name and number and said hed look into our invoice and call me right back. He did call back, and said that there had been a billing code error and issued me a refund of $300. There was no apology, just an explanation of what had happened, which tells me they are systematic about overcharging and only give you a fair, competitive price when they get called out on it. Incidentally, we paid $67 for a lube, oil, and filter service (which includes topping off fluids), and when we picked up the van, there was no windshield washer fluid. After giving them close to $2000 to service our van, they overlooked adding $.50 of windshield fluid? Really?We will be making the drive to Sacramento for our service from here on out. Its worth your time and money to avoid Wittmeier.

Comment: I had a horrible buying experience here. Ive never bought a car before so I was excited for this new experience. I noticed a scratch on my mirror the next day and brought it to Wittmeiers attention. My salesperson was rude and that there was no way he would have missed it. I told him not everyone is perfect (which bothered him a lot..). I understand I drove it off the lot but they way the entire situation was handled was awful, unprofessional, and overall disorganized. I was promised a couple things with my purchase (floor mats and a back cargo mat). They forgot to order them for a week, and had no record of the cargo mat anywhere. I would never recommend someone buying a vehicle here and Im uncomfortable with the thought of getting my car serviced there in the future.

Comment: If it were possible to give negative stars I would. RIPOFF alert.Honda fit needed 60,000 mile service as well as an airbag recall (another one). They (with a straight face mind you) tried to charge me $800 for the 60,000 service. This is roughly twice what it should cost.I told them to just do the airbag recall, and called my normal Mechanic (hello Garys automotive :) who quoted me $400 for same service. Wittmeier called back to let me know I could pick up my car several hours later, only when I get there, I have an airbag light illuminated on my dash now. I go back inside to inquire, and am told, in no uncertain terms, that the airbag light on my dash has nothing to do with the airbag (again, with a straight face), but they offered to write up an estimate to get it fixed.At that point, I went to speak to a manager in sales (as I could not even speak to the service idiots anymore) who brought it back into see the tech, and surprise, they had hooked something up wrong.TLDR; they tried to rip me off to the tune of $400 extra for a service, and gave my car back to me in worse shape than when I brought it in, only to have them offer to rip me off for more money for the mistake they made.Never again. I will drive my car to Corning for service before I ever bring it here again.

Comment: Bought a used truck. 10 minutes after driving it off the lot the tire pressure gauge came on indicating a faulty gauge (according to the manual). Called Wittmeier who said I didnt buy extended coverage so tough luck! Im sure they turned the light off before selling it hoping it wouldnt go back on for a while.After a few days the brakes began squealing very loudly. My guess is that they did something to quieten the brakes till the truck was sold. WD40 perhaps.1/2 hour after buying it I came out of a store and saw the rear bumper had been bashed. Im sure it probably happened when it was in their shop when they were cleaning it before giving it to me, but I didnt do a final walk-around as I wasnt expecting any damage. It may have happened in the parking lot, but giving the rest of my experience, and their attitude, its likely they bashed it and just didnt say anything. If it had happened in the parking lot there would have been something of the other vehicle on the ground as it was a big thump. But there was nothing to be seen.Maybe it is all just coincidence, and they really do do their 140 point check they proudly claim, but I think theyre just a bunch of...Also, the brakes are quickly getting very soft.I wouldnt advise anyone going there.

Comment: Wittmeier, you suckThe first service I had at Wittmeier: My F-150 developed an audible rattle of an unknown source. I took it to the dealer to be fixed, after having my truck for two days the service department determined it was related to the exhaust system but could not fix it. My truck has an aftermarket muffler and they told me it must have had something to do with the aftermarket components. They charged me for looking at it, and at the time it seemed fair. Ultimately, I (a non-factory trained technician) found that the culprit was actually a broken factory installed lifting eye on the engine block. I understand this was a difficult find, but why did the representative lie about determining its source? To ensure I would believe they earned the money I was being charged? How much time did they actually spend trying to track down the noise?The second time I attempted to have service performed by Wittmeier was for warped rotors. I would have not returned after the first event however, the two wheel drive F-150’s have a unique front rotor which requires special tools in order to resurface. They turned the front rotors and recommended I also resurface the rears, to which I agreed. A few hours later, they called me and said the rear rotors would not accept a turn and needed to be replaced. I told them I would hold off on the rears for now, as I planned to replace them myself. I was called a second time a few minutes later, and was told the rotors were below allowable tolerances and really needed to be replaced, driving as is would be unsafe, I explained I would personally replace them. When I went to pick up my truck, I was charged full price for the front and the rears. I was highly confused as I did not expect to be charged for a service on parts that as described to me needed to be replaced. After heated words and discussions with the service manager the new story was the rotors were turned, were safe and the finish was only rougher than they would have liked. I have looked at the rotors myself and I think several mechanics around town would be embarrassed to charge for what looks like incomplete/shoddy work. Telling a customer their brakes, (possibly the most important feature on a vehicle) are unsafe should only occur when in fact they are unsafe; was this just an aggressive sales technique? Mistaking safe brakes for unsafe brakes or charging for labor on supposedly unusable parts, in my opinion is not good practice.At the end of the day Wittmeier was given two opportunities to impress me and failed. The service department employs dishonest representatives and I will never trust my vehicle to them again.One last note, I purchased my truck from Wittmeier and after the poor way I have been treated, I will never purchase another vehicle from them again.

Comment: If I could put 0 stars I would.I got a 2016 Chevy Cruze and they were asking $15,500 and that car had rebate deals for it at the time, and they ended up putting down that the car was $19,995, and it had the sticker with the price on the windshield saying $15,500. They didnt even use my $3,000 I was putting for the down payment either. I found all this out when I was trying to trade the car in to a different dealership and my salesman ended up telling me all this. Their all snakes at Wittmeier and dont even bother going to them!

But I hope its not the last. He even delivered the vehicle personally to my wife and I which was going the extra mile for sure. And there was no up sell or cross-selling. Just a smooth, quick and professional transaction. Your experience at a dealership will really depend on the salesman or woman you interact with. Comment: I arrived for my appointment and was told the car would take five hours to replace the airbags in for my Honda recall. I also asked for an oil change. I received a call at 1:45 letting me know my car was done. I asked to have the shuttle come and get me, and gave my location, which was at the Starbucks, eight minutes away. At 2:15 I called the shuttle, but it went to voicemail. At 2:30 I called Wittmeier and was put on hold for 9 minutes, and then told the shuttle had just left. The shuttle pulled up and not a word was said, no sorry for the wait, sorry I didnt call you back, hello, nothing. I paid for my oil change, got in my car and did not see a sticker that lets me know when I should get my oil changed again. I went back inside and asked for the sticker, and was told they dont do that anymore. My service rep went and got one printed up as he knew one should have been provided. Makes me wonder if my oil actually got changed ... When I voiced my dissatisfaction with my service, I was given a limp handshake and told they were short staffed, and it wouldnt happen again. If they can find them awesome, if not and I can they are happy to do the repairs. My service adviser is very good, he stays on top of most of my service needs, and usually goes above and beyond to be helpful and make sure everything is as perfect as it can be. My last service I had actually overpaid on my service, he caught it hours after I had paid and got it rectified, then phoned me to let me know. now thats great customer service!

I had an 8:00 appt and when I drove in someone was at my car before I could even get out. Bob was very nice we did the paperwork and the shuttle car was ready to take me to the rental place. I was told my car would be ready at 3:00 and I received a call at 2:30 saying it was ready so took the car back to the rental and had about a ten minute wait for the shuttle which had other riders in it and while I was paying Bob came over to fill me in on what was done. I also received a follow up call from him asking if everything was ok and what could be done better and I told him a car wash should be included especially on the large expensive services.

Comment: I had the normal servicing for my 2005 Honda Pilot as I now have over 100,000 miles. While it was not something I wanted to spend $$$$on when I was not experiencing any problems I felt it probably was needed since I am going to keep the car.I found the service advisor Bob to be pleasant and very helpful. While I was there I took time to look at a new 2016 Pilot, salesman and I took car for a drive, he too was informative explaining the new features. When I am ready to purchase a new car I will return to Wittmeier, if I feel I can get the best deal I will buy there.I was surprised at all the negative comments regarding sales and service . I had a hard time driving to the auto center but I drove in and left the engine running and told them my problem, I had just had the car in there last week for the red light on so I knew something was wrong. I was waiting in the waiting room when Dave came to tell me that it was a computer problem and the car would have to remain there for two days since they would have to send away for a part. He was concerned that I lived in Paradise. I told him my daughter worked in Chico so he told me to take the shuttle to her work place then after work she could take me back to Paradise. Dave was so concerned that I had a way to get back home and I appreciated his thoughtfulness. The shuttle bus man was so extra nice. Two days later I picked up the car exactly when they said it would be ready and so far the car is driving just fine.

Absolutely never never ever never ever take your vehicle there. The appointment at 845 to get a key made took 4 hours. No other place in town makes Honda keys so I was stuck with these bozos. I also got blamed for a broken key fob by the counter dude who said I had too many keys on my keychain. How about they stop making them out of cheap plastic? There are about 3-4 people who will help you, and their communication with each other is non-existent. I had to go bring the parts guy over to the service guy, to get them to agree on what I wanted done. I got plenty of glares for suggesting that they stop making appointments, and just switch to first-come first-serve since they dont really understand the appointment model.Bottom line: Their reputation as one of the worst repair shops in the Chico area is entirely justified, and they are doing their level best to keep that reputation year after year. Go anywhere else, if you can possibly help it.

Weve mostly had it serviced by Wittmeier Service and the few times Ive tried elsewhere in Chico Ive found that the other centers cost as much or more. Wittmeier has always been the fastest and most effective. Then, just this month, 7/14, I did have one snafu. Its a long story, but to make a long story short, all of the service staff, and management at Wittmeier, treated me very professionally and gave us a fair deal to resolve the issue. Comment: My experience with them is that if they say your car will be ready at 2:00 better plan on 5:00. Bill, the service manager, is kind and helpful but their service is slow, overpriced and often Ive left after waiting all day feeling frustrated. I took my car in for a complete check at 105,000 and was expecting to need brake replacement. When I picked it up they said everything was looking great. Considering my brakes were very worn and nearly went out on me completely a mere 3 months later, it makes me wonder if they even looked. Since my car now has 121,000 I think I will find a good mechanic here in town. Its bound to be cheaper!

The salesman, sales manager, and F and I person were all very professional, and gave me a great deal on the van and extended warranty we purchased. Weve also been back to the service department since our purchase twice. Both for oil changes. Both times they exceeded my expectations. The service was quick and not overpriced. They even had a shuttle service pick me up from work to get the van after the service was done. That was very nice. Overall Id recommend the sales and service department to anyone.

Comment: Terrible treatment, deception, outright lying by several sales people they use to gain up on you even though this is the 4th or 5th car we bought from them with several trade-ins. Their goal is to promise a fair and good deal then nibble away until they rip you off. Costcos car buying program got involved to basically audit Wittmeier on this whole ordeal which was a lease on a new 2013 CRV-AWD the first lease we ever did. We had to go back in several times, long trips through the mountains to Chico each time from where we live, actually three different contracts were re-written by them and Honda Financial Services which are just as screwed up as Wittmeier. One staff member today, Atkins is his last name, in lease financing signing, was apologetic and sincere about their screws ups over the past month and this appears to be over because Costco came down on them about this and more details too much to go into and it still tracking the entire transaction. One other staff member at Wittmeier who we wont name was immature, sarcastic and intimidating by saying to me today that he would siphon the gas out of our new vehicle if we had of put his name in the complaint I filed here earlier today; maybe it will show up later but so far it seems to be conveniently missing. There are services that can remove negative comments or they might be able to do that theirself at Wittmeier Honda. There were two similar negative comments like mine, one six months old, the other one year old, with no positive comments. I dont claim to be a computer genius but normally a comment would have posted by now; will see what happens with this one. The employee there knows who he is, the finance lease guy who heard it in front of him today on January 25, 2013 was right there and heard it too, so it will be up to Wittmeier to figure out along with Costco if they want to give him some remedial training on the value of customers, being honest, not being part of a multiple sales team and management scheme group that conveniently downgrade the deal till they get what they want, namely much more than they promise verbally. A verbal contract is binding when it is presented in written form in a confusing and constantly re-written problematic form which they fully admit that they did. It comes across as just another clever tactic to wear you down. Wouldnt buy there again or refer anyone there unless they go way out of their way to knock the nonsense and cheating on actual costs; doubt if they are smart enough to do that, they will no doubt fail even though they obviously think they are invincible which is what other similar big companies that have come and gone over the history of America. Honda Financial was just as big of trouble makers as Wittmeier was which was a big shock after contacting them especially considering we have bought so many Hondas and even a couple of Fords and done three trade-ins with them. Honesty and fairness would keep them busy, solvent and highly profitable, the games and outright lies, bait and switch tactics and wearing you down over a month of game playing is just plain stupid. Watch out for these jokers; hopefully they will wise up and get their act together.

Comment: It was the worst truck buying experience I ever had and this is my fourth time buying a truck. I will never go there again and I recommend that no one ever go there. First I asked for the truck to be put on a lift so I can look under it. The salesman took me to the truck and told me if I wanted to look at it to crawl underneath it. Then second when we were making the deal the salesman told me that he wanted my $80 ice chest that was in back of my old truck. At first I thought he was playing around but then he came back and said that he won’t give me a deal unless I give him the ice chest and that he was serious. Then the third thing, after it was all done and said the salesman came out to give me the keys to my new truck and he only gave me one. I asked about the other ones and he said that the previous owners still had them and he well get them for me. Well it’s been three weeks now and no keys I called to see how much it would cost to make a new set it cost $200. So I well be calling Scott my salesman and telling him that him that they well be buying my spare set of keys. For the record the only reason I put up with them is because I really liked the truck and it was a 6 speed manual those are hard to find.
