I’ve been living in these apartments for about 7 months now. I can’t say anything too bad about the apartment itself, it is perfectly fine, but the leasing office? That’s a whole other story. Problems. Don’t. Get. Fixed. You can call, and call, and call. They don’t answer your phone calls or emails, nor do they return them. As I type this, I’m STILL waiting on a call back from them regarding an incorrect bill they sent me in the mail. (Mind you I’ve called four times already, NO CALL BACK.) They advertise a pool & fitness center that will most likely never open and it hasn’t in about 3 years from what I’ve heard. I could go on and on. But until they fix these issues, I don’t recommend moving here. Completely inconvenient.
They will steal your money! I had applied for an apartment and was approved and provided my $100 holding fee. After hearing about how run down the buildings are and how the community is predominantly a high drug use area I decided this location is not the place I would like to live. I was not placed in an apartment, nor did management ever even reach back out to inform me when one would become available before I contacted them to let them know I would not be living here and would like my holding fee returned. I have talked to multiple different people who work at this office all refusing to give me the number to corporate and giving me the run around as to when my holding fee will be returned. Office staff are rude, have no knowledge of how to make themselves the face of the community, or how to be decent human beings overall. Do not waste your time or money on these run down trashy apartments.
Place has potential but really couldn’t care less about the people. A money grab for sure, since they fraudulently advertised they had a pool and fitness center when they don’t. Management is rude and don’t bother to even consider calling you back after you’ve called and left them many voicemails. Tenants who get the police called on them routinely aren’t reprimanded. My thoughts are, who is running this circus?
The Receptionist michelle Bowe is very nice, friendly and welcoming. I moved in today September 21st. The apartment have new carpet, fresh paint and spacious. It’s also clean. I’m not gone lie, I signed the least before looking at the property and checking reviews; soon as I checked the reviews I was ready to pull out and not get the apartment! But after talking with Michelle and she answered all my questions, she made me feel comfortable with my move. Can’t wait to decorate and get cozy with my kids.
There are kids hanging out, they seem happy. Apartments are actually very nice on the inside. Dish washer, plenty of storage, large bathrooms, and fireplaces as well. Wildlife is also really nice if you are into animals, this year the geese had babies and I am watching them grow up day by day. I feel safe here and the people are friendly. Reach out to management if you need something.
Whatever you do, dont move here. My husband and i didnt have a working sink for over 7 months, we had no ac during the hottest part of the year, all you got was excuses for things not being fixed. All they do is lie. There is no fitness center or pool like they claim, maintenance never comes out unless you tell them that there will be legal action taken, or they come and do a fix that lasts maybe 10 mins if you are lucky. if you complain too much about issues they refuse to help, and will not take money off due to issues with the building because as they told me we are over $100,000 in rent and we gave everyone money off during covid. Glad to be out of here
Its been great. People are friendly and respectful. Maintenance and leasing staff are great. Only issue I have is the amount of dog feces on the property. In my last apartment rental, they used a third party agency to collect DNA samples from pets and tie it to a household. If they ever found feces laying around they would test it and determine who feces it belongs too based on the DNA they collected and in turn the leasing staff would fine that house hold. I think this would keep the tenants honest and in term keep the community clean.
Alicia Warner is the worst apartment manager in town. A building manager usually means you take care of bigger responsibilities that pertain to work orders or repairs, Alicia along with the rest of the WoodCrest Apartment staff would rather sit on their butts and collect free money.. my family has been without proper heating and cooling for 4 months and was lied to each week I spoke to management about possible repairs. Do NOT live here…
The reviews in this thread are real. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I am counting down the days til my lease is up and I am out of here. Ive been living here 2 yrs 8 months. I am still missing a screen to the master bedroom window, one single blind blade on the living room sliding door to the balcony, and a little door for the butter inside the refrigerator. They ignore that check list they ask you to check off on when you check your apartment out. I still have a leak in the master bedroom from the ceiling when it rains, been dealing with that for over a year now. There is a crew that was supposed to come in the master bed several months ago to plaster/fix up the ceiling, they cant do that till the roof is repaired. For whatever reason they wont fix this leak coming from the roof top, no matter how many times I call the office and remind them about it. The dining room ceiling sprung a new leak next to the ceiling fan with the recent rain storms, called the office about that, dont know if the issue was checked out because maintenance wont leave a note that they were in your apartment or looked at the issue. Maintenance is terrible here, for the most part that maintenance log on the website gets ignored, they will go in the log and say work completed but its not true. For some strange reason, thats beyond me, theres a storage shed I assume behind my unit next to the woods, there was a roofing crew that put new roofing up on there, Okay.......what about the leaking roofs people live under????? why is that shed soooooo important??? That didnt seem urgent, I mean you have people in the comments saying they have leaking roofs here at Woodcrest Apartments. Neighbors like to put their cigarettes out on the wall in the hallway, in the old & ugly green carpet in the hallway, smoke in the hallway, its hell here sometimes. The pool, gym, clubhouse? out of commission since Ive been living here. The Geese? need population control on those birds. The washer & dryer? I go to the laundromat to wash, these old coin taking machines are forever broken. we are supposed to be getting new washer & dryer units, none yet in my unit.They want that rent by the 4th of every month, which is no problem for me to pay on time, Ive never missed a payment or payed late, but every aspect of these units are outdated, maintenance ignores your issues, it is discouraging to call or visit the office( if the door is not locked) or leave a maintenance request on the website log because I just know my issues will be ignored. I could go on and on about the problems here at Woodcrest but I wont. Only move here as a last, very last resort. AVOID THIS COMPLEX.
Half way through my lease nothing to complain about. Apartment doesn’t have no bed bugs, roaches or mice so I’m cool. Maintenance is fast when I needed them they were here, neighbors are quiet and respectful so what more can you ask?Police constantly monitors apartment, my car has not been broken into, we have a forest nature preserve here and I get to see all the deer. I’m loving this area.
Dont let the no security deposit pull you in. This apartment is terrible. Do not come here. The walls are thin and you can hear everything. I have kids running, falling, and bouncing a ball on the floor above me all day and morning. Couples fighting and arguing. Management does nothing about it. Theyre quick to want their money. Rent has to be paid by the 4th of every month. After the 4th, $50 is added to the rent. Then after the 15th of every month, legal fees kick in. Mine is $161 added to the rent. Plus I have a yellow jacket problem. Wasps are in my apartment and I dont know where theyre coming from. Maintenance only do emergency work. They start the work, but they dont finish. The swimming pool and recreation center has been closed since Ive been here.
Washer has been broken over a month, my rent is paid on time, why cant you guys get a washer up and running in a responsible timeframe?My roommate is immune suppressed and leaving to do laundry puts her at risk, again why am I paying nearly a grand a month to you people and you cant be bothered when things break?Theyre probably not even gonna fix it and instead wait for the new ones to come in to save money, garbage.
I have lived here for almost a year know and has nothing but trouble with the staff here. My slide down hasn’t worked seems we moved in and we have put in request after request to get are door fix and has yet to get done and keeps getting marked as completed on there maintenance web thing. Also my bed room window has been leaking water in to are apartments. Are bathtub also don’t work. We also have a dog and they pick on us because of are dog. Also are air conditioning hasn’t worked for almost 3 mouths now and they have yet to tell us what is going in and when it will be fixed. I would to request or tell anyone to live here. They say they have a pool and fitness center but they don’t because it is broke. Has been broke seems before I moved in and they continued to tell us that it worked when it doesn’t.maintenance is awful and fixes nothing so to not count on them.
Went to go look at an open unit as several were listed as open/available soon. The leasing agent wouldn’t open the door to speak with us and insisted on screaming at us through the door. I’m hard of hearing as is, so I was unable to understand anything. She grew more frustrated with us and we left. We called to the office from the car to listen to what she was saying, and she continued to argue. I tried to divert the discussion to the availability of the unit we wanted, and she informed us that the several units open in a few days were just evictions and not actually open. I expressed my frustration with her lack of professionalism and horrible attitude and she hung up on me before I could even explain I’m hard of hearing and that’s why I was so upset. Look else where if you want decent management.
Weve been here for a month and so far its been going well. There are issues that other residents are experiencing and we do have some maintenance issues like the hot water stopping mid-shower. Everyone has been nice at the office. The carpet in the front hallways needs to be changed out badly, slight smell and the paintjob should be redone. Lots of nature, which we love! Neighbors are friendly and its a pet friendly location, so you will see dogs and cats :)
Please do not move here! These are the worst apartments ever! Maintenance does not fix anything and they lie and mark the work orders completed. I have had roaches, ants, wasps inside my apartment. Rats outside my doors and geese poop everywhere. No one cleans the hallways and there is constantly trash everywhere and stinks like someone died in the halls. The washer and dryer is always broken. I can not take a bath because the glaze inside my tub is peeling off and it has been this way since March. Lock on main security door is constantly broken. Patio door does not close. and it’s not safe to go on my patio that I have yet been able to utilize. Management does not answer phones or complaints but the demand money. They creep and leave notes on your door. Every year a complex catches a fire. There was a meth lab in the apartment next to mines that caught fire. The neighbors are loud and rude. You can smell weed through the vents, everytime I run my shower it leaks Into the apartment downstairs.... I could go on and on and on... I wish I could upload pics
Normaly im not the person to come on here and complain. But this is crazy. I have a single bathroom in my apartment. With 1 toilet. Its been 48 hours and no one has even looked at it. Ive woken up early to be awake for maintenance and stay home late wasting a day waiting for them. Im over it. There has been so many parts that have broken due to being old. I even had a maintenance guy you emplyee tell me most of this stuff around here is out dated. Should I just call a city inspector and have them take a look around my unit and see if they come up with a list for you to fix as well. Completly disrespectful.
Ive had no water for my kitchen sink for over a week and no ac. My roommate called and left messages and Ive sent emails with ways to contact me. Nobody has gotten back to me. This is a joke. Last year nobody cleaned the gutters to my building and the cealing collapsed. It took over 2 months to fix. I cant believe I was stupid enough to actually stay here. Hopefully this will get you guys to actually fix this stuff, but with all of the bad reviews I highly doubt Woodcrest actually cares.
Honestly this place is horrible, they lie to you and increase your rent months AFTER signing lease. Washer and dryer always broke, management is very rude and disrespectful. Maintenance does absolutely nothing. This is me and my wife first apartment and they’ve made our experience sooo much worse. Our air conditioning has been broke for months, we complain we put work orders in and they ignore them, the pool has been closed all summer. This place is honestly so very terrible the reviews you read on here are 1000% true. I wish We never ever moved here. Save your time energy and money moving here please!!!!!
So in November they hired contractors to fix our ceiling and they put zero tarps down and it thunderstormed which caused water to leak down all over our bedroom. No heat in the winter for a month and a half. No ac for 7 months. Still no Ac in this heat advisory on 7/9/2020 and we still have the holes in the ceiling from November. This place does not care about you. Do not move here. They trick you with no deposits dont do it, save yourselves. Learn from our mistakes.
Let me start by saying I’ve experienced a lot of bad customer service but this has got to be the worst! I applied here in May and was approved the same day I informed the leasing agents I was not looking to move in until July and I was told that was fine and that would be when the apartment would have have one bedroom availability. I signed everything I needed to as far as employment verification and references and brought in my $100 holding fee all on May 16. From that point on it was an absolute mess there was no communication, no clarity and no respect for anyone’s time. I had to call at least twice a week just to get a better understanding of when I would be able to move. I was told there was a waiting list but would go on their website just to see there were apartments available and when I asked I was told it was an error! Really!? The assistant property manger had the nerve to have an attitude when I kept calling looking for more clarity and simply a move In date I was assigned an apartment that was up for eviction that had to be a joke. I was looking forward to moving into the complex but then I saw all the reviews and it made sense just based off me going through it myself. This is my first apartment and Woodcrest did not live up to the “Woodcrest is the best” statement. I’ve decided to move on to a complex where communication and customer service is key and first!
I would first like to state as a potential renter, this process has been very frustrating to say the least. My application and additional documents were turned in in a timely fashion and to not receive any call backs or follow up calls is very disappointing. I have been calling continuously for the last two weeks (Everyday)and either getting no answer or having to wait for callbacks. I am at the point where I am feeling that this is not an apartment complex that I need to risk signing a contract with because I am not confident that my needs will be met with staying here. I have never experienced this amount of unprofessionalism, lack of concern, and lack of communication from any apartment complex I’ve stayed In. The application was put in at the end of December because my lease is up at the end of January, so for me it’s unacceptable to still be at the point of not having an update where I am in my process. Or being told it’s being reviewed, but when I call back the file was never sent to the manager. I asked to speak to the manager and each time the manager was busy and could not speak. I am going to look at other more professional apartments who value great customer service. In the future, please train your employees on efficiency, customer service, and communication. It was also stated your understaffed, as a customer I should not be hindered in my process because of staffing issues.
Its was a nice place to live when I got here a year ago. The leasing office almost never answers, it takes MONTHS to get things fixed. They add unnecessary amts of money to your bill with no good explanation. They advertise for a pool and gym WHICH THEY DO NOT HAVE!!!! Had bed bugs for a month and still nothing has been done. Probably one of the worse places Ive had to live.
If I could give this place a -1 score I would. They totally wasted my time, changed my move in dates on me multiple times, management and leasing employees were less than helpful. The applying process is so broken and unorganized. They need some serious organizational help. I applied to move there the middle of June, took 3 weeks for them to put my application in front of the manager, when the manager approved me i was given a move in date, the date continued to change. Finally got a “welcome letter” that looked like a 5 year old threw it together in excel, stating to transfer and set up utilities, Thursday (the day before I was supposed to sign my lease) all utilities were set up in my name, by 10am I received an email simply stating “Sorry we gave your apartment away, would you like a 2 bedroom?”. To say I was livid was an understatement, a truck had been rented, utilities transferred and paid for, cable/internet installation was scheduled, renters insurance was active. Completely unprofessional and untrustworthy. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to live here. No one deserves to be treated the way that they treated me. They will Bait and switch you and screw you over.RENTERS BEWARE. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!
They have lazy management and horrible maintenance. I Have had a leak in my ceiling since I moved in to the building. No one has did anything about it until this year. I moved in 2015! and all they did was put a hole in the ceiling and put plastic around. They calm they would be back to fix it but that was 2 months ago. Management is lazy they dont want to help you with your problems or complaints. They will say we will help you with that we are so sorry and never do anything. Horrible place.
All in all it has been just fine. The place is a bit dumpy but they have been working on the parking lots, and the building. You get what you pay for. This was the cheapest apartment in the area. The pool and exercise room were eh. There was new carpet in our unit, and it was freshly painted. They spruced up the bathroom as best they could. The neighbors were fine. The reviews were bad but it really is not a bad place.
READ IF YOU PLAN ON MOVING IN!! I live here currently, only give it one star because Im required too in order to post this review. To be blantantly honest, I may not wait until my lease is up to move. The windows and doors dont hold out anything, cold air or bugs. Bugs get in all the time, most of the sliding doors are faulty, fall off the tracks, handles break easily, dont slide efficiently. I dont think I have ever taken a hot shower unless its 3am and no one in the entire building is running water. I would trust a monkey to wash my dishes safer and better than the dishwasher does. There is one overcharged washing machine, and one overcharged dryer...PER BUILDING, 6 apartments, and they arent very big. The pond is stagnant slime pool, the lawn gets cut maybe twice a year, the pool and country club/fitness center havent been running in two years, but we all still pay for it. The office is an unorganized mess, no one communicates with each other so one worker probably has a different answer than another. Maintenance is slow and reluctant to replace anything, i assume per corporate, when do replace something, its the same cheap part that replaces it. So if standards in where you want to live , this is the place for you.
Horrible. Hidden fees. Maintenance orders aren’t fulfilled or mark as fulfilled and not honored. My kitchen sink and garbage disposal has been clogged for 5 days now and is now leaking. Was told by emergency maintenance that he came by and fixed it but when I returned home my sink was still overflown. Was told a plumber would then come out, did not happen. I have a toddler and I can’t cook If I can’t use my kitchen sink. There is also no sidewalks in this neighborhood.

Only professional one no longer works there They don’t fix anything; you really have to call and complain 5 times to get an results. It’s currently getting cold outside and they’re suppose to be doing work on the furnace in every unit, but mine is yet to be fixed. Not to mention I went half the summer without air, before they even offered a air conditioning unit for my apartment. The pool has been closed for a whole year and parking is horrible.
CONS:Ants, ants, ants and giant spiders.They dont fix broken things and maintenance never answers.The office also never answers.Potholes everywhere.No one cleans the hallways.Washer and Dyer is always breaking.Janky windows and doors.Screens dont fit on any windows or sliding door.Poor insulation.I can constantly smell smoke through my vents and weed in the hallway.No one cleaned the apartment prior to move in - grease underneath stove vent, painted over hair in the bathroom drawers and walls.Dirty laundry room with dead bugs everywhere.You can hear everything.Trash is always scattered outside and in the backyard next to our patio.Strangers loiter and they say theres not much we can do about it.PROS:Located near stores.Nice amount of space for one bedroom and price.Layout is open.UPDATE: You have to wait until something is an emergency maintenance issue and then it will be PARTIALLY FIXED over the next few months. The hallways are probably cleaned once a month. Bees and wasps outside the doors a lot. Our door to the building is constantly broken. Homeless people living in their cars and on the property, which is not addressed until you personally call the police. I havent figured out yet if the office doesnt communicate with maintenance properly or if the maintenance just doesnt do their job (all two or three of them). Personally, I havent had an issue with maintenance besides the issues not being properly fixed - its probably the office because they have even forgotten to send our lease to us to sign. There are dead bugs EVERYWHERE in the laundry room all year long. The fire alarm goes off in the hallway when it gets too hot from the laundry, and WHEN the washer or dryer breaks, which it will, itll take at least a week or more to get fixed by the company. The new paved road already has potholes. The pool tiles are falling off. Our stove burner is broken for the fourth time this lease year. There has been a constant leak in the ceiling in our bathroom and a loud grinding pipe noise above our heads in our bedroom at night. GIANT spiders - this is not a joke. You can also expect dead bugs in your house. Poor insulation from the windows and sliding door. The screens arent fitted so dont bother opening anything. The fireplace is useless. You can hear everything upstairs, even from the third floor. Trash is ALWAYS littered outside. Smoke is smelt in the hallway and through the vents because your vents are connected to your neighbors. People are careless about how they park and open their car doors. Oh, and dont forget that the office doesnt answer your calls and you can go down to the office, but they will just reassure you with lies. Good luck.
Between the no heat for two weeks in single digits temperatures, taking up to two months for other maintenance requests, not having an open pool; forcing renters to fees on top of rent if you work a normal 9-5 job; charging late fees and letters threatening to evict when I paid rent ON TIME!; never answering phones, responding to e-mails, or calling you back if you leave a voicemail, pot/smoky smelling hallways and apartments; disrespectful neighbors who vandalize your car; and thin walls, I am counting down the weeks till my lease is up so I can find a new place! DONT MOVE HERE!
The washing machine in my building is broken and has not been replaced for weeks. I have experienced flooding in my apartment due to the water tank in the laundry room and they do fast fixes and repaired the dry wall but will not replace the unit. When my fridge broke I had to wait a week for a new one. The hot water in my building has been out for all the units for nearly 2 weeks now and have not bothered to keep me updated. This place does not maintain the properties or care about the well being of residents. I would not recommend this to anybody. The appliances pictured do not reflect colored appliances from the 70s when they were originally built that are actually in the units.
I cannot wait til my lease is up . And if I have the time I will be taking them to court . The halls of my building stay dirty . My last apartment cleaned it weekly they don’t clean it , our building door has been broke for a few months now which is a safety hazard , the apartment above me some how made my bathroom flood like crazy and I still have the stains in the carpet where they so called cleaned it up , my garbage disposal goes out every other day , my intercom stopped working the first week I moved in . I didn’t get a updated apartment so staying here I’ve got a new sink and toilet installed . The tub has yellow stains that cannot be cleaned and when you call maintanance they take forever to come. The office barely answer , and they are no help when they do answer. They are money hungry. Whenever I have a problems it’s not solved .
These apartments are very ghetto & unprofessional. I’ve stayed here for almost 2 years and this has been the worst experience. The people who work in the office never answers the phone, they charge you extra money on your rent, maintenance never come when you call them, they come like a month later after you calling, neighbors are very noisy all day everyday. I’ve made several noise complaints about neighbors and apparently it doesn’t mean anything because they are still loud. The pool has not been open since I been here, every summer they says the pool is under construction. I cannot wait to move!!!!! I have 2 months left here and it will all be over with. The apartments are nice in the inside but it’s not worth it for all you’ll go through and the rent is definitely too high.
Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. They have money to remodel their lobby but can’t upkeep on the units. I have a one month old with my wife and haven’t been able to live there for 3 weeks we have no ac and they can’t tell us when it will be fixed. The pool we pay for is never open. Our sink leaks and they don’t care. They also like to give you eviction notices even when you pay on time. Then we just found out there “Manager” was stealing people’s money. This place is trash.
If I can give this place zero stars I would, my mom Applied her a year or two ago around 2018 i believe and when my mom gave her the the application money, then explained her situation to the lady, the lady said something like “ok, I will keep in touch with you” The lady never called back to say yay or nay if my mom was approved or not. So she wasted her time and gas even coming up their!
This place does NOT have it together. Pool has been closed all summer due to the pure laziness of the staff. The parking situation is outrageous.. my boyfriend lives here and I spend plenty of time here so don’t let the management veer you off of my review by saying I’m not on the tenant list. (Like they do to all the bad reviews) Because I am NOT. Here’s an outside perspective and the best advice I can give you. DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place sucks beyond belief.
I love living here. I love my access to my pond and I have made great friends with the ducks and geese!! Nice coming home after a stressful day and sit outside and relax with my outside feather friends.The staff is very friendly and there big maintenance team is great. They are very prompt about getting out to fix a needed repair.

A guy came in didn’t even look at the furnace and said yeah you need a new one I’ll come back later to check it out and never came back it’s been almost a month since. Pool and clubhouse is closed been closed for almost 4 years. It’s not worth it do not move here it’s my first apartment and worst experience moving as soon as my lease is up!!
The worst place to live. I have been living in hell since last year. All they want is money. My apartment has water in the damn walls and was told one lie after another that I was being transferred to another unit. I have withheld my rent and will be on my way to court to show these disgusting pictures. No one should have to live like this especially when paying all the bills in a raggedy apartment! Youve been warned!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!
It’s a decent place to live for when you first moving on your own. Maintenance when fully staffed gets stuff done fairly quickly, the leasing agents are pretty cool two in particular, Inman and Rob will help you out with anything you need. The manager here is pretty cool as well....sometimes. LolPros: spacious, fire place, animal friendly if you have pets, swimming pool, work out area. Location is ideal for those like me who rather walk during the spring/summer than drive.Cons: dead insects all year round, faulty machinery at times, not something the actual manager can fix but if something major goes down say like this year the swimming pool, we’re still being charged for something we can’t use and they’re not fixing in a timely manner. We shouldn’t have to pay for something we can’t use.
I was looking forward to moving to this complex because I was very impressed with the pictures and the apartment layout, I decided to do a drive by and boy was I disappointed. The parking lot is littered with potholes and some of the buildings entry doors had door knobs missing. Where is the safety in that?. And not be judgemental but some of the people looked questionable. With that being said I have not had the pleasure of meeting staff, it was just a drive by.
If you are looking to move asap then this is not the place. I applied 3 weeks ago when they said they had apartments ready to move in, and clearly that was a lie. I have been waiting anxiously and patiently and could very well be homeless depending on them. The application process is flawed. On the flip side the staff seems nice. Robert is nice. The manager seems to be the one that has to approve everything and if this is the case she/he has no sense of urgency. If i do not get a movein date today I will go else where.
Do not move here!! Ever since my husband and I moved in weve tried to get someone to reglaze our peeling shower/tub and vanity. Still no service after a year! The water takes forever to get hot for showers and if someone else is using water in a different apartment your water gets cold or hot. The sliding door showers are moldy and dirty. There is something splattered onto my bedroom window! I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE HERE!
I would NEVER recommend these apts to ANYONE! They moved me in an uninspected unit at the beginning of May. My ac has been broken the ENTIRE time (coils are burnt out), and cannot get a straight answer as to when it will be fixed. The manager is completely ignorant to what is actually going on with the issue or even what the resolution for it is. Not to mention, we cannot even take the kids swimming because the sparkling pool they mention is currently shutdown (and has been since the beginning of summer). They are horrible with communicating, and deserve an all around rating of half of a star.
Since Woodcrest can reply to people comments , I really want to know why the pool and clubhouse been “under construction” for 3 years , I bet in the description it Says that you guys have a pool and didn’t put that you guys are too lazy to fix whatever “problem” it has , and all the bad reviews are just enough for me to never get an apartment here , my grandmother lived here for years and eventually gave up on calling maintenance because they hardly do they job. No I do not live here but I have been in and out of Woodcrest because of my grandmother, but this spot is clearly not recommended and they comment on all the negative post and say they could help out , I bet they didn’t fix majority of these peoples problem maybe just 1 or 2.
DO NOT RENT A PLACE HERE. I have only been here since May and this place is a joke, 100%. The front office is trying to penalize me for late fees when I paid rent on time + more than I was suppose to. Additionally, I have called the front office no less than 30 times since they opened at 9am. NO ONE IN THE FRONT OFFICE EVER TAKES A PHONE CALL REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION OR RETURNS YOUR CALLS. So they are going to charge me late fees, because they cant figure out how to file rent checks properly. Amazing. If I could give you guys zero stars, I still will give you -3.
Price on Craigslist states $775 for a 2BR got there and was told it’s $954 and they don’t know why it’s that price. Still went through with trying to get a place. Done the application and was told credit didn’t matter. Soon as they got my non-refundable processing payment, they said “ oh sorry we do check your credit and you’re denied, sorry about the confusion “Such a scam they have going on. Definitely not a recommended place in my opinion BEWARE!!!!
Run! Run!! Run!!! from this apartment. If I could give a zero star I will cuz 1 star is too much for this kind of time wasting apartment. Worst apartment application procedure I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. They are time wasters. This should already give you a clue on how their maintenance will be. Very poor!!!
Nice apartments. But there are gaint rats all over the parking lot at night. Its scary getting out your car at night its usual 5 to 10 rats running back and forth in front of the doors. And they still have not done anything about, everytime i talk to them they come up with a new excuse.
If your thinking about moving here dont . The only thing that they are concerned about is money and not you as a possible tenant . Last week me and my girlfriend inquired about a two bedroom apartment that was available brought all the information that was requested from us within a day gave them the 100 (holding fee ) and 80 because its 40 each application. So we applied last wensday and were told we would here something Tomorrow here I am next week wensday calling them to figure out whats going on we havent heard anything at all .... So I decided call and cancel because no effort was made to contact us even about the status of our application still dont even know if I was approved or denied I was told on the phone its taken awhile because they were waiting to hear from another apartment complex my girl used to live at. I was curious to know why no one told me that ? Chelsea said she left a voice mail truth be told we gave them 4 numbers to contact and two email address we dont have a miscall nor a voice mail from anyone... A voicemail is unsatisfactory considering we have to give out plenty of ways to get in touch with us. My question was how come no one emailed ? Or called the other phones why only one ? I was told again well sir she did call ... On my end there was no message nor email nor was there any proof that she did call why would I lie ?.. About something so minor I inquired about the 100$ they say they would give back if you do no get the apartment she said well since your canceling you will not get the apartment because u signed the paper saying after 72 hours you cannot get the money back I asked now is this based on approval or denial because trust me it was not explained during the viewing of the module All she kept saying was well sir we have your signature ... which is fine because at that point I knew it was only about money lessened learned folks read every bit of detail when u go looking for an apartment ironically enough I read the reviews after filling out the application and I had my doubts but people the reviews are true about this place first time ever feeling the need to express myself and very last woodcrest apartments absolutely not worth the headache if the beginning process was this unprofessional and slow could you imagine living there needing things to be done ?
Dark complex. Very loud neighbors. Our toilet was broke and flooded through our Hallway, kitchen and living room and emergency maintenance would answer the phone or respond to voicemails. New management is just as bad. Offices doesnt answer phone even during urgent matters and maintenance for normal issues are extremely slow. Not recommended.
Save yourself! Stay especially away from building 8464. The main lock has been broke for over 4 months finally replaced today 2/7/18. My ceiling has been caved in over a month. There have been two break in attempts, taking them to court didn’t help. The judges in Westland can care less about building conditions. Plus, since October 2017 my furnace has gone out twice.
The worst customer service. I was looking at this place as recommended by a friend and I WILL NOT live here. Based on the way the office is ran I would never come here. Didnt ask me my name, take any of my information at all. Mid tour another family came through and rushed me out of the model/office saying we were just finishing up anyways. I still had questions and wasnt understanding all of the extra fees once to sign. They advertise a low price but dont mention the high fees once to move in. Absolutely unprofessional and out of date for the REAL price.
They seriously need to enforce noise management. Likw there should be a fee for being that ignorantly loud..The NEIGHBORS BLAST HIP HOP MUSIC AT 6,7,8,9,10,11 OCLOCK IN THE MORNING like they are the only ones living in the building. You can hear the music from outside as well. You can literally hear the upstairs neighbors having sex over their loud disruptive music as well. Neighbors are extremely loud and for rent to be between 6-7 hundred dollars a month you would think they would send out letters reminding people to be mindful of other people. The parking lot is fixed and smooth with a few bad spots still. The bathtubs peel excessively. There is a ant and spider problem but if you buy raid you should be ok thats to be expected being its lots of trees around. Dont bother complaining to the office to fix things or to complain about the EVERYDAY NOISE because youll be waiting forever or they just forget. My advice, look all around Westland for something before settling.
Dryer has been broken for 2 months and the office staff tell us that the residents have to call the number on the dryer in order to get it fixed because thats not their job. The main lock is constantly getting broken and the office staff does nothing about it... awful customer service. Living here was a regrettable decision made.
I really like how Ive been missing my kitchen drawer since March, and a second drawer just broke too, how cool! I also really like the empty promises to fix said items and other issues. Its also pretty unique to unplug my fridge every night bc its so loud I cant sleep. Woodcrest is the best....
The apartment is beautiful... I just dont like the staff... And I dont have roaches and bees coming through the vents when I moved in... but I do now... They just need new people in that office... I really want to move... Like really bad but cant find another apartment I like...
All kinds of RIFF RAFF lives there!!!! Continuous domestic violence with people throughout the apartment complex. This establishment accepts section 8 so that being said YOURE going to encounter such colorful individuals (in a bad way). It went from sugar to manure!! To me 1 stars are too many for an review!!!
Very unprofessional I stay there 2 years the sink always stayed plugged the bathroom was plugged they had begs the apartment is very outdated they not worth 900 to stay there you put a maintenance order you might 3 months to hear from them they kept my deposit I keep calling no answer
They are not very organized. they will push back ur move in date expect you to still pay full price. your app will just be sitting on the desk but they will tell you its in the process. if you agree looking to move in be ready to make frequent visits to check on your status.
This is the nastiest apartments in westland someone threw up in the hallway talked too the front office they said told maintenance I talked too them 4 times after this and nothing was done do not move here I repeat this place is a cespool of drugs dummies and bad maintenance the front door doesnt lock no lighting and the leasing people are so rude
Lived here for 3 years and 1 management switch and overall I have a good experience. The fire was not in my building but it did burn an entire building down during my stay, but that was due to resident BBQ on the wood balcony catching fire. These arent the nicest apartments in the world but maintenance kept them up pretty well, didnt have many issue from my end for the time of my stay.
This place im trying to leave out now im about to take everything out my name pack up and leave been here sense march 4 and its may 31st this place aint crap they lie to you the parking spaces have pot holes bigger than foot a kid was playing in one the pool is a mess everything in the gym is broken these people give u incomplete answers they are jerks im looking for an apartment to get out this place to scared to call maintenance they like short wirering homes if you keep calling them its terrible why isnt anyone investigating this place it sho7ld be closed a d burned down they have bugs rats im sick to my stomach paying tko live in a hotel fil i can put a down payment on a new place
I moved in on July 11, 2014 and it is NOT what I was expected. When I moved in, there was still food in cabinets from the previous tenant, the shower door was covered in mold, and my toilet was filthy. The maintenance crew, including the manager Steve, is unprofessional, lazy, rude, and lacks common sense. The property manager, Beth, shes the most unprofessional, rude, self-centered, ignorant, intrusive, senseless, inefficient, unethical person Ive ever met. I dont see how shes qualified to be a property manager. Ive never been this unhappy living in an apartment. I wouldnt recommend anyone moving here. Ill be back to write another review, Im quite sure something else will go wrong.
Where do I start? For starters the apartment space it self is great you do have great space in the actual apartment. I didnt receive rude neighbors everyone in my apartment stayed to themselves which worked for me. However, I do not recommend staying here the customer service I have experienced for the 2nd time around is horrible. They will give you a move in date which you will not move in on.This has been the 2nd time this has happened. I thought maybe it was just a bad 1st experience.The property supervisor Steve is a complete A$$!!! The property Manager you will never meet unless you are signing a lease she has Steve do all the dirty work . Ive tried asking questions to her but only Steve would answer for her. My apartment recently caught fire I lost everything!!! Because of a freak accident from the maintenance guy which I believe made catch on fire. (MY OPINION) They are not caring at all Red Cross came to help us and once again Steve had to rush them out because the club house closed at 6 but they only been there for 30mins to help the victims. A couple that was in the fire was never notified that there was a fire outside until they heard all the ruckus. I just renewed my lease only to take a advantage of the 2 months free so I can get back on my feet, due to the apartment fire. However, I couldnt move in because they decided to give me someone elses apartment keys so that left me to fend for myself after they gave me only 15 mins to return back to the apartment before they closed !!!Now Im stuck in a lease for another year here FML!!! DO NOT MOVE HERE SET UP FOR DISATER!!!!

THE ONLY THING TAIESHA (the manager) TOLD ME THE COULD DO WAS GIVE ME MY DEPOSIT BACK AND THEYLL RELEASE ME FROM MY LEASE AS LONG AS I TURNED MY KEYS IN BY THE 31ST REMIND YOU SHE EMAILED ME ON THE 22ND!! 2022-02-02Woodcrest used to be a decent place to live over half a decade ago. I made the mistake of moving back at the beginning of 2021 thinking it would be the same. Since living here again I have heard nothing but complaints from my neighbors regarding how horribly managed this place is. During the summer most of the buildings are completely without a/c and the pool has been down for at least 3-4 years. The leasing office is completely rude and disrespectful no matter how polite you are when calling in (if they manage to answer at all, which is rare). They replaced the doors to all the buildings a few months ago and still havent given any of the residents keys to their respective buildings, which actually has resulted in multiple break-ins, including my own apartment during which I had some material possessions stolen (thankfully no-one was hurt, despite it being an armed robbery). Calling this place the ghetto would be a major understatement. Avoid this place like the plague!!!!!

Plus every time Ive been on the property all of the office staff and maintenance crew have been completely wonderful and always helped with everything I encountered and this is better than most places Ive seen.

2022-03-15Current resident. Do NOT MOVE HERE. I cannot stress that enough. Every complaint/review I have seem has been 100% accurate. The complex is not safe for children in the parking lot nor near the ponds in the back due to the over whelming amount of geese. The tenants with animals majority of them let their pets runs loose around the ponds and do not clean up after them. Management is non-existent on the grounds, I see the same few maintenance men roaming the grounds cleaning up, but if you have an issue within your apartment they will take forever to fix it UNLESS youre a new leasee. I have been in my apartment paying my FULL rent during covid and all and for the better part of 2 summers without Air Conditioning and no guarantee of when it would be fixed. You can call the management office all day and no one answers. I have written several emails to Alisha Warner over the years about the grounds and the safety of residents and children especially in the parking lot due to the amount of people that speed through here. She is slow to reply if at all as of now there is an email to here pending reply dated 3/8 requesting a corporate email address because she replies when she wants to. Maintenance takes forever to change a light bulb or fix a towel rack. I have ants constantly and am always combating them. I have several outstanding maintenance requests; patio door is broken, flickering lights due to faulty wiring, there were mushrooms growing around my bar area due to shoddy carpenting and moisture. Our building door has been fixed 2 or 3 times and some how each time its broken within a week!? There is neither comfort nor peace here. Between the zooming cars or loud music in the lots, you have to be louder than any of your neighbors or whats going on. Do not waste a single dollar of your money moving here. If it was not for the Pandemic I would have left easily my first year. Who wants to live some where they feel uncomfortable, nor safe?!?! Same question I asked to the manager in my emails over the course of 2 years. I do NOT WANT to finish my lease here.

2022-03-26Im going to be very honest and transparent with this review.. The website says woodcrestisthebest. I will agree to disagree with that. Myself and my wife moved here in 2019, and we now have a house. When we first moved here, the staff was very rude, and seemed to not care about us being newly residents here. Never could get calls through, office staff were not professional at all. Treated you like you were someone off the street. As the year ended in 2019 and 2020, things seemed to get worse, but as we entered the 2021 year things seemed to get better somewhat. We kept telling the office about our old carpet, but no one ever fixed it. The manager came out and took pictures, and told us upon our move out that we would not be charged for it, because it was old, and no one ever fixed it. The carpet was more than 5+ years old, and time after time we tried to get them to fix it and no answer. The office didnt respond to us, behind the manager Alicia that took the pictures, but then we never heard from her either. We understood they have allot of residents and we werent the only people living there, but they never got around to us. Besides those two little hiccups, The office got some new staff, people seemed to care a little more, and Maintenance seemed to be on top of things allot faster. Nothing is ever going to be perfect at ANY place, but I saw over the time that Woodcrest was trying. Thats what myself and my wife understood and admired the most. Nothing in LIFE is going to be perfect, but when someone or something is attempting to do their best, then we can understand. The new staff are trying, but I know its going to need allot of love and work to EARN their website name. No disrespect to Woodcrest at all, but to be the BEST, theyre some true qualities you have to have. They were and are still trying to rebuild their name, and try to reimage themselves. Hopefully in the future they can have a better image, and truly get to 99.9% satisfaction. The 5 Star Review is for allowing us to stay at this place, and attempt to give us the BEST experience.... We can only be thankful and grateful for what you guys tried to do!!! We Thank You!~The Tompkins Family

2021-10-21DO NOT LIVE HERE. When we moved in, there were wasps in our walls. Our dishwasher has been broken for two years and nobody will come fix it. A thick coating of mold now has grown inside our dishwasher, an amenity we pay for and are still paying for. Our ceiling in our bathroom has been leaking for three years, mold has started to grow in our bathroom and our ceiling looks like it will cave in and still nobody has come to fix it. The apartment complex wasted no time fining us for our cat, but will not respond to our maintenance requests. There has never been a working pool or fitness center in our three year stay here - in fact, the whole building was torn down. Stay away.

2021-05-05I advise no one to live here. I eventually had ants crawling in my room and in the bathroom, all the way to the kitchen. No one did anything about it. And maintenance would always complain about fixing things in the apartments , and made smart remarks. Also it took them months to come out. And they overcharged us with rent and lied about the monthly payment. And also we had never gotten our dish washer fixed, bath fixed, and the small door that was supposed to go in the pantry cover the whole was not fixed either. Their terrible and the people at the office talk to you very nasty. Don’t waste your money

2019-10-31This is by far the worst location I have rented from. Our Bathroom sink has been over flooding for a week and the complex has not fixed the problem. Despite calling just about everyday. Despite contacting their emergency line, our problem has not been resolved. Not to mention the maintenance team does not leave behind notice so you have no clue on whether they have been in the apartment or not. I know they are trying the best they can with the little team that they have but this is just not right. Customer service is not promising. The apartments are falling apart. And yes They do have a bug infestation problem as well and try to put it off as if you have the problem. the first time I have ever witness this type of bug problem in my space. I was better off staying in Southfield. Just ridiculous.
