So far this place has been terrible! It takes sometimes 3 hours for someone to respond when my father needs something. They leave him sitting on the toilet for an hour. Hes only been wiped down once in a week and a half. Never been showered. Many days go by before they change the bedding or fix it at all. This is unacceptable!
This place has gone downhill. Its impossible to contact anyone at the front desk because the line is frequently busy. I was surprised how dirty it was here. I really wouldnt recommend anyone putting a loved one here. Please keep in mind that if youre loved one has any issue while staying here, you will not be able to get ahold of a manager, or get actual details from staff. I guess I expected better care for the cost. Because of our experience, I now feel like the 5 star reviews are fake, or possibly written by staff members, and I wish I wouldnt have believed them when deciding where to put our grandmother. The other patients looked absolutely miserable, and the staff look agitated and easily annoyed. We watched a staff member get irritated with another patient simply because she asked for something to drink.*It was great when Beaumont owned it, but it has since been taken over by new owners and has significantly gone downhill*
If you care about your loved one don’t leave them here, once the doors are closed it’s like a prison. It only looks nice on the outside the rooms are disgusting. The colorful staff are terrible and they treat the patients terrible as well. The one bright spot in this place was the food was good, otherwise the whole experience was a nightmare.
My father spent a lot of time at this facility and every stay was great. He was in and out for therapy and eventually became a permanent resident at Woodward Hills. All of the therapists were outstanding, and with my father progressing with dementia, they knew exactly how to work with him even when he had his bad days. The nursing staff was excellent, they truly cared for my dad and that was so amazing to see. I would come and visit and he would be roaming the halls and sitting at the nursing station with the nurse or cena just talking like old friends. They truly cared for him and they became part of my family. My father has since passed and I could not thank Woodward Hills enough for all of their care and compassion that they gave him and my family. I know people typically only share the bad reviews so I wanted to share my outstanding 5 star review. I recommend this facility, they truly care for their residents.
The State of Michigan needs to step in and close it immediately. If you have heard that this place was good, note that is when Beaumont Hospital owned it. Now it is owned by a private company and the service level and talent level has drastically decreased. Our family was in there for 21 days and they neglected him in so many ways:1. Failure to inspect and treat a massive bed sore. During his time there and due to their lack of care, it become significantly worse and now have to get a special wound doctor. We were lucky to have them check it once every couple days after we raised concern.2. Did not shower him according to the 2x per week, 5x in 21 days.3. Pushed the assist button and wait 1 to 2 hours for them to respond. This happened had a regular basis, totally unacceptable.4. They would put him on the toilet and let him sit there for 40 minutes to 1 hour.5. One hand doesnt know what the other is doing. Communication is a serious issue and all know it is an issue but do nothing to improve it.6. The staff complains of the issues that the owner and management will not fix. They are extremely understaffed but have no issue texting on their phones and talking to each other in the hallway.7. How about while my father needed help, an aide told him to wait as she was texting someone on her phone. Please dont let anyone talk you into going to this place, including a hospital...
I was attempting to get my mother in to Woodward Hills. By the recent reviews it appears that I have dodged a bullet. I spoke with 2 different admissions people. Was told I would hear back on Monday after my mothers surgeon faces 13 pgs of information to the facility. No call, so I called spoke with Mike who said hed call me before he left at 6. No call that evening or the next day. I left a voice mail. No return call. Unreal. Not a way to conduct a business folks. Also noted that only the positive reviews got a response from the facility.
What a beautiful facility! Carly and Nik set the tone from day one and helped answer all of our questions. Each and every staff member that we dealt with was extremely compassionate and supportive. Even when we had one minor issue....Mallissa helped address it immediately for my wife and I. Highly recommend Woodward Hills!
Careless and lazy.....nice facility though. Ask for help with family member and they ignore you and wont help. Impossible to get anything your loved one needs help with. One male nurse put patient on bed hanging off and told us to fix it ourselves. So what do they do when you arent there?! Terrible stafff, very few who care about their jobs.....sad.
Fantastic facilities and staff. I’ve been in to visit many times and have always been impressed with the quality of care provided. The staff I’ve spoken to have been friendly and actually take the time to answer my questions. Ernie especially has been great on several occasions.
I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone. When I asked the medical experts there for medical advice /assistance for my mother all I received was a what do you want us to do? The complete lack of empathy was astonishing. Not one person in authority assisted me when I asked for an ambulance to remove her from the facility. All Ive received since is their television bill which they owe me money as they cashed my check for $80 and the bill is $44!
The nurses at Woodward Hills took perfect care of my mother (along with Hospice of MI) during her last days. The staff was caring, skilled and respectful and the facility was always clean and organized. I cannot express how much their help meant to me and my mom during this difficult time.
Not very happy with this place so far... My father in-law is in there and we are thinking about putting him some where else... We first get there and I hear this poor lady screaming for 20 minutes to get some water and all the patients looked miserable.. Then my sister in-law goes to check on him 2 days later and he fell out of bed during the night and had on his hospital gown still and when questioned why he wasnt in clothes they asked does he have clothes here... Uh yeah do you not check or ask.. We brought in a big gym bag full of clothes... And they havent started physical therapy or anything yet...
I just got hired here and so far I like the atmosphere. Mimi the lady who interviewed me represents the company well and I just love her. She gives that motherly love but also will tell you about yourself if need be. I think i can grow with this company and looking forward to being apart of the team.
Alls i can say is look before you put a love one into one of these places. I just stopped in to look at the place for my wife who needs extended rehab. The place was dirty with paper laying all over the place. Sure the lady was nice to show me around. But as soon as i seen a elderly lady ask if she could say something i was floored when she said that she has been waiting to go to the bathroom. The nurse showing me had said something to her and i could see the elderly woman was getting aggravated. So this lady asked the nurse at the nurse station to take care of her need. This nurse got mad and said it wasn`t her patience she don`t know her. TERRIBLE, i would not recommend this place to anyone and i just stopped by to visit it. NO ONE SHOULD GO THRU THIS!!!
Discrimination is alive and well... and perfectly legal... at Woodward Hills rehab center… Once I have recovered sufficiently from my spinal surgery and going to a rehab that will except me… Woodward Hills will not and they don’t have to tell me why… I will be outside picketing that place because of the horrendous treatment I received from both Sarah and Teresa when I called and tried to find out why they were denying me a bed even though I was willing to pay their exorbitant prices in fullWhat a horrible experience !!it’s quite a shame that my elderly parents will have to drive much farther in completely lethal roads full of ice and snow to visit me at some other facility many miles from their place as opposed to this place which is a half-mile awayYou will note that I never give bad reviews to places, usually I just remain silent on the topic and don’t give them a review. However this really warranted letting other people know that they just should not contact this place because they will deny you on reasons that they will not tell you and that’s a great waste of a day and very frustrating when you’re lying in bed in pain after surgery
I do not recommend this facility for Subacute Care. My mother was ignored for several hours with a very high blood sugar level and had to be sent to the hospital. If it wasnt for my sister coming to visit my mom that afternoon she couldve had another stroke, went in to a coma or even died. Her blood sugar was so high it didnt even read on the monitor. The nurses knew she was not well and sent her to physical therapy anyway. When my sister found her she was non responsive and needed emergency care. I dont suggest you bring your love one to Woodward Hills if they need subacute care or special attention. The staff is just going through the motions and have forgotten to really care about the people. The lead nurse was very nonchalant about almost KILLING MY MOTHER and was not very apologetic. She blamed everything on doctor Annette Karen and took no responsibility for her staffs lack of concern. Not to mention they had my mother on a non-diabetic tube fed when she is a diabetic, the rooms were dirty, the hall smelled like poop, I over heard several staff complaining... and the physical therapist suggested I stay on them because the quality of staff had gone down. ALL RED FLAGS!!!! Ive had family members come here for therapy and they do have a good therapy program but I would not suggest someone staying here.
Both the nursing care and physical therapy were outstanding for my grandmother. She was there for just under 3 weeks following her surgery, and the entire team at Woodward Hills couldnt have been more attentive. Special thanks to our nurses (Keisha & Kimberly) who made sure all of my mothers needs were met. We felt like she was staying at the Ritz Carlton while she was at Woodward Hills!
I have been very happy with my fathers care here. He eats well and is well cared for. The physical, occupational, and speech therapy has been very good and the therapists have communicated with me on a regular basis. They even gave my father a private room, without extra charge, because of the anxiety that goes along with his dementia. The only issue is that the person who provided my admission tour assured me that if he needed to be there for long term nursing care under Medicaid it would not be a problem for him to stay as long as I got him in while he was on Medicare. Then, as his Medicare was running out they told me that they have no Medicaid beds and the waiting list is actually approximately TWO YEARS LONG!!! This has left me struggling to make other arrangements that I did not anticipate having to make, and which I cannot afford. I feel misled and like they lied to me simply to get his Medicare, only to dump him when it ran out. They have assured me that he will remain on their waiting list, but I dont think that is of any value because they told me that priority will always go to those already there and moving from private pay to Medicaid.
I wouldnt give them any stars if I could. I wouldnt want any of family member to go this facility nor myself. My grandma went to visit her sister and had a sweater jacket on and left it in her sisters room because she wanted to push her around in a wheel chair. When she came back her $100 was gone. Its so sad that help has to steal.

2022-02-19This facility is beautiful but the care for your loved one is scary, my loved one was sent here less than a week ago and they transported my family member without a coat in nine degree weather as well as no mask, I received an urgent call from a third party who observed that they were going to transport our loved one again in freezing cold weather without a coat or mask again, and the staff got upset that this third party demanded that our family member be transported with oxygen, because they need it. I have left multiple messages for the social worker, doctor and the manager and no one will return my calls I will be pulling our loved one out of their first thing Monday morning.

2022-07-09In my nearly 10 years of experience with family members here and elsewhere, Ive found the staff and programs of their therapy, activities, and dietary depts to be exceptional. Nurses, on the whole, are above average also -- attentive, professional and empathic. Nursing assistant (CNA) staffing levels is an ongoing, often frustrating, concern however. Especially in the longterm units, where continuity of care is vital. But administrators are responsive, and really seem to be trying to address these challenges. A good facility overall.

2022-04-18This is affiliated with Beaumont Dr Iman is the man in charge however none of the staff seems to know him..My mom was never the same when she left there in September and her poor care lead to her death on February 16th. Lets see if the owner responds to my message instead of the positive ones which arent very many

2022-06-26ProsNice looking place. But it’s the care of your love ones that counts.Cheers to James H in Dietary, Khan in physical therapy, Scott the nurse, Vanna, Cena and Cynthia in Clerical. Was compassionate with the patients. It’s the attitude of employees that matters a lot. Some spoke others didn’t. I have no comment on others.ConsThe diets could use more protein and veggies and less carbs in the diets. It would be nice if the facility provided also transportation for the patients who have to go private drs appts. I had to pay each time for a drs appt. Over $100 each visit. To transport by wheelchair. They were Sometimes short staffed and definitely can use help. Soc services department was not helpful. The politics is something to consider.

2022-04-15My mom ended up with bruises from rough handling by employees and bed sores from poor care. She was dirty and dehydrated. They are not affiliated with Beaumont Hospital at all and they claim they are.

2022-01-21My father in law was in the center and thank goodness he his out. The poor man at night slept in is clothes. They never came in to help him get ready at night. He had PJs to change into. Not even sure he had proper PT. Very disappointing how fast Woodward Hills has gone down hill.

2021-12-06Major problems lurk with this nursing home! Here are just a few:Staff are always exhausted and are too busy with other patients to respond to call lights in a timely manner. This means many times that patients are forced to wait hours before getting cleaned up.They are always running out of supplies like compression socks or wound dressing materials. Many times bed sores go unchecked for days.Sometimes the aides and nurses have 30 patients at a time to care for. No wonder it is so difficult for patients to get help and staff turnover has skyrocketed. If you’re thinking of putting your loved one here, a word of advice: don’t!

2020-08-25I have had a family member in this facility for rehab. I was very impressed with their service and how they made my family member feel at home. They are welcoming, and very attentive to a patients needs. This place is lovely and so hospitable. I felt like I didnt have to worry at all when my loved one was there. I knew they were well taken care of. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in search of quality care for a loved one as well experiencing positive end results. Great place !!!!
