San Francisco Computer Rental
740 14th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States
I shattered the screen on my MacBook. Since my Apple Care had just expired, taking it to Apple for repair was just not feasible, as they wanted to charge me almost what my laptop is worth. These guys were able to repair my macbook screen at a fraction of what the Apple store had quoted me at. In the meantime I rented a retina macbook for about a week. Since they were repairing my computer, they also gave me a discount on the rental. Great service, friendly guys and very good rates for their services and computer rental.

TC Rentals
702 California Ave, San Francisco, CA 94130, United States
Ive been working with TC Rentals since 2015. They are my first (and for 7 years only!) call for event infrastructure. While they produce huge events like the SF Marathon and Bay to Breakers, they still care about and are super attentive to smaller events like mine. Marcus and the team constantly go above and beyond... I wish I had more events so I could work with them more than a couple times a year.

Last Minute Gear
563 Sutter St, San Francisco, CA 94102, United States
Last Minute Gear is exactly what it sounds like, though not exclusively for trip procrastinators. The web-based business doesnt have a physical location, but my friend and I found last minute gear to be a much more responsive and affordable option as compared to renting at bigger name stores (e.g.Sports Basement, REI, etc. where the quote for a sleeping bag rental ran ~$50) - the company features a pay-what-you-can model, making what could otherwise be out-of-range gear more affordable to the general public. Though skeptical about the 24 service at first, I was easily able to get into contact with the owner, James, and he reassured me that the business was legitimate and after placing my order, I received very clear instructions about how to retrieve the package. Alternatively, if you want to avoid a trip downtown, your order can also be delivered for a $20 charge. The equipment we received was in good condition and allowed us to be prepared for a several day camping trip through Lassen and Crater Lake.James is also very flexible and understanding about any situations that may arise; my friend and I were due to return the gear midday on 6/25, unaware that we had scheduled the return time to overlap with SF Pride festivities. On 6/24, James took it upon himself to let us know and offer to let us return the gear earlier in the morning, later in the evening, or even push the return to Sunday. You would be hard pressed to find this type of understanding and flexibility at a more corporate store. Overall, the experience was stellar and I would recommend this service to anyone looking for camping gear rentals in the Bay Area.

U-Box at U-Haul
1525 Bryant St, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States
I had a horrible experience with Uhaul Uboxes - completely unprofessional, unorganized and set up to overcharge the customer because the local, national and call center offices are not connected. Shipping is separate from Ubox, which is separate from storage and no one manages a entires customers rentals.I had issues with the Ubox delivery. When they were delivered, they could not be shut or locked. I had to have new ones delivered. They said they would pick up that day. Then they told me that wasnt possible. They kept changing pick up time, and all of my belongings sat out on the street in the Mission overnight.I could never reach someone to answer my questions. TIP: only deal with the local offices if you need boxes delivered, access, etc. The call center would say they set things up, and when they did not happen and I spoke with the local office, the local office had no notice of my reservations or conversations.A total disaster!! I would highly NOT recommend.

West Coast Walkies
1300 Rhode Island St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States
Thank you, Rashod, for supporting our little indi-film! The walkies, tents, and the beach wagon saved us all. Especially the grips! Many sandbags were loaded into that wagon, at wrap, as we swiftly moved off of the sand to the trucks in the parking lot; Praising YOU! Highly recommend the customer service as well.

City Kayak
40 Pier, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States
Nice place to rent kayaks right in the city, where you can get a good view of the city skyline, the Bay Bridge, and the baseball stadium. The owners (husband and wife?) are really friendly, and the entire operation had a mom-and-pop feel to it.TIPS:Paddling around splashes water so you will get a tiny bit wet, so bring appropriate clothes (or maybe a change of clothes for after). I left my sandals on the dock and went barefoot. You can buy water and snacks at the checkin desk (and dont forget sunscreen), and rent a dry-bag for your belongings. I recommend two hours, since getting ready, onto the kayak, and leaving the dock area all eat some time which would make a single hour quite rushed. We were able to paddle to the bay bridge, back to the dock, to the baseball stadium to watch some of the game, and back all in two hours. If youre prone to seasickness, take some dromamine or ginger candies before you go!OVERALL:Go on a nice sunny day when a baseball game is being played.
