Wellesley residents haul their own trash, recycling, and bulky items to the Recycling and Disposal Facility on Great Plain Avenue; it is for Wellesley residents only. To avoid fees, waste must come from the resident's own home and arrive in a vehicle with a valid RDF permit that the resident personally drives. The facility is open only in the mornings Monday through Wednesday and is closed Sundays. Mattresses and textiles must go into the facility's separate recycling and donation containers. If those self-haul conditions do not work for your cleanout, send us the item list and access details to discuss pickup.
Wellesley cleanouts still need to follow Massachusetts material rules: mattresses, box springs, and textiles such as clothing, shoes, and linens belong in recycling or donation streams, not regular trash. CRT displays and other electronics are generally handled separately from household refuse. Construction and demolition scraps need an appropriate destination, and refrigerators or freezers require correct refrigerant recovery.
