I currently live at one of the properties managed by Rps in Bakersfield, I made a maintenance request only one week, exactly 7 Days later, for multiple things ... including black mold in the kitchen and bathroom . The plumbing is always backed up, there's no cold water in the bathroom, and my side door has a non functioning dead bolt lock, and is the wrong size door for the space it's in. I have been calling daily, every hour on the 30, and no answer. I went into the office yesterday as it is my only day off to do so, and the lights were on and there was talking but a locked door . The office ladies are very nice, but very bad at getting things done. There's still trash in the front of my house from the previous tenants!As if all that wasn't bad enough there's also a raw sewage leak in all the apartments in the complex that their own employees (especially the plumber), have made note of and let the company know what's causing the problem. The apartment I'm in has become inhabitable and we will be moving.RPS knew Of the problem and still rented the apartment (against the law), I have made a health department complaint, as well as a BBB complaint as well .

Wendy was not very helpful, in fact she kept throwing things out there in what seemed like an attempt to keep me from applying for a rental. Perhaps she doesnt think a person with my last name could possibly afford it!?! Of course my interpretation, my opinion. Wont ever bother with McMurtrey ever again.

UPDATE: The lady in the office is very nice and very helpful. I just loved her. The woman in charge of approving the applications, though, has to be the stupidest person on the planet, and thats saying a LOT! Her husband is an attorney, so obviously that makes her one too, right? Not so much. First of all, she cant read a credit report, doesnt understand credit qualifying, doesnt understand trusts, and Im sure there is more, but why beat a dead horse? She is rude, obnoxious, and, did I mention, stupid? Having been in financial industries for almost 40 years, I can tell you, she couldnt find her butt with both hands and a flashlight. She made a lot of nonsensical demands, so I finally told her to stick it. That was last November, and Ive had to wait until the end of January, because nothing has come on the market, but it has been worth it to not have to deal with something like her. Feel sorry for her husband, unless hes a jerk like she is. As, for the managers of the park, they are fantastic. I dont know how they can stand working for this idiot, though.This is an older park for seniors 55+. This is a tenant owned property and is government subsidized for low income. The mobile homes are older ones but kept very neat and clean. The lot spaces are the smallest Ive seen anywhere. There is no room for any backyard space, and only about 3 foot on each side for any type of garden or grass.My understanding is that the minimum monthly income to qualify is $1,500 per month. Rents are roughly $460/month but in August they do an annual adjustment and if the household income is less than $35K/year then the rents are adjusted downward.

Very nice people. Experience could have been better. I think they just give you the run around. I applied for an apartment and was the first application they received. I had my husband call and check in on it about 2 days in and they told him they were waiting on verification. I called later that same day and they told me they rented it already. I didn't understand why they would tell him something different and I thought it was a first come first serve basis. Just know if rental or job takes a long time to verify your information they will not wait on you. My experience was disappointing and confusing for the most part but this company does have clean nice properties so it's understandable that they go fast just wish communication was better and wish I could of had a better understanding on how the application process worked. I'd give it a 2 stars

I cant say enough good about Karpe Real Estate! They were our saving grace when a different real estate company misled us and put us in a bind. From the moment I called and spoke to Liz regarding a property listing through them she was very professional and attentive to our needs. She knew we had very short time to be out of our current residence since the previous company We were going to do business through misled us and at the very last minute said they wouldnt rent the property to us. We were able to go view the properly immediately and start the application process. They even called the owner of the property while we were still there to make sure she was ok with us having a dog before we even submitted our applications. Liz said she would start on our application right away, so we could have an answer by tomorrow and let me tell you she did exactly that! Within an hour of leaving their office our property manager for our current residence called to let us know he was already contacted by Liz. We were contacted by Liz that very same day and found out we were approved! I am seriously so impressed on how professional and genuinely caring Liz was towards our situation. I will definitely continue to do business with Karpe and would recommend them to all our friends and family looking for a new home. I have been renting from Moss Real Estate for 4 years now. We have had a couple issues with the house and they have been quick to get the issues resolved. Jason has even taken the initiative to come out to our property personally to ensure the work that was being done is complete and done correctly to his higher standards. They are very polite and professional when it comes to discussing business. I would recommend them to anyone.I believe a lot of the lower reviews here aren't something bad to reflect on Moss Real Estate as a company but more so towards the owners of some of the properties who refuse to want to put any money back into the property to keep it well maintained. (Property Management companies need owners approval to do majority of the work to a house. If the owners refuse it leaves them kind of there with their hands tied)Ultimately don't take all these lower reviews as facts, Moss Real Estate does there very best to ensure their tenants are taken care of, correctly and in a timely manner.

This place is very unprofessional for 1. The lady was very rude and 2. it took them two weeks just to tell me anything. To top it off i was told, they decided to pick someone else for the property if anything change with whom they picked they will be in contact with me. She never said i didnt qualify she said she decided to PICK someone else.I will not recommend anyone go through this property. They pick and choose who they want to rent to.This place get no stars from me only one because i have too.Brian you did contact me but still did not contact me about the other property. Your company is just taking people money for nothing and not even running our credit. I will have someone looking into you guys.This place is horrible and also that mean old lady that work in the front is not professional at all.

These people are SCAMMERS!! My fiancé and I have excellent credit and are Doctors of Physical Therapy with not one bad mark in our backgrounds. I called them on Tuesday afternoon and they told me the apartment was available for rent, no other applicants yet. I put in the application online and paid the fee. The following morning I called and they said my landlord had to fill out an evaluation form, I emailed my landlord who was traveling back from Spain to fill it out and send back ASAP. He had it submitted by Thursday morning before they opened. I called them as soon as they opened and the lady could not tell me when I'd hear back about moving in the apartment because another person who was handling my case was not working (weird-why could she not look up the status herself?) she said she would call me back. I called them back later and no one would answer the phone during business hours. I called the following morning as soon as they opened and they said someone else had moved in the apartment that day. We were furious!! We told them we wanted our application fee back due to the situation, and they would not give us a phone number to speak with their manager!
