I have purchased several pieces of equipment through the years from Chuck and have found him to be a very honest old school equipment salesman. He always has top of the line used equipment and I would never think of buying elsewhere.

Last year, my husband and I took on several substantial concrete projects. The first of our jobs was a 4 walkway all the way around the back of our cabin. We discussed using two tones of color hardener along with stamping a pattern into the finished product and because some of this was new to us, we discussed our project at length with a woman who worked at Liddells. She was knowledgeable and patient and she knew the companys inventory well. We were very impressed with her and trusted her input. Since we had no idea how much hardener wed need, she suggested we overshoot our projected needs to make sure we we could get enough of the colors, and when we were done to bring any excess back for a refund. She stated the obvious: the tubs could not have been opened and had to be in good shape. We cautioned her it would be a while before we returned extra hardener because we were working in stages around other projects. Having the luxury of our own cement mixer meant we could beat ourselves up, take a break, then get back to the projects. Both of us are in our 70s, so this has worked well for us.  She assured us delayed returns were no problem. In fact, she said, with such an erratic supply chain, getting product back would be a good thing and far better than running out and being unable to get more. After the walkway, we undertook some unique cement steps for our front porch. They have seashells, beautiful rocks, big chunks of colored glass and more. We tried the hardener on them as well, but found it was too hard to work it into the cement around the additions. It was a kick going into Liddells because contractors would hear us conferring with our contact and showing her pictures of our work and soon they were looking at them and adding insights. With only the landing of our porch to complete, and having decided against a $99 sprayer Id intended to use for wet-look lacquer (I preferred brushing it), we loaded up the unopened hardener and sprayer last week and headed to Lidells, which is about 50 miles from our home up on the Trinity River near Lewiston.Steph walked into the store and explained why he was there. The manager flat-out refused to take back our purchases without receipts. When he was reminded he can look up our purchase history easily because we used the same card, he still refused. NO RECEIPTS, NO REFUNDS.So we hauled the 5 buckets of hardener and the sprayer home and put the 60-pound buckets back in the garage. Again, a reminder: were in our 70s. Who appreciates having to go through this?Yesterday, receipts in hand, we returned to Liddells. Steph suggested he go in alone because although he wasnt happy, I was fit to be tied at how wed been treated. I have created, owned, run and sold businesses for over 50 years and I know customer service. This guy was manipulative, rude and hed already cost us a 100-mile drive with all-time high gas prices.Steph carried in the sprayer and about 10 minutes later, walked out without it. I assumed wed drive to the back to unload the hardener but no.Lets go, Steph said. He refused to take the hardener back. This story just gets better. The manager said the really bright employee wed worked with was gone. He whined that new hires dont last more than 3 months; one hardly has to wonder why. And although he did take the sprayer back, he pointed to signs on the front of the counter that say, No returns without a receipt and No returns after 30 days. Then the manager launched into a diatribe on the hardener not being worth anything because it was just over one year old. He claimed his rep for the product says it loses its color. While we doubt this very much—those tubs are solidly sealed; where would the color go?—we were specifically told we did not have to hurry to return the hardener we didnt use. Did we have proof of this? No. Did we ever see the signs? No. Someone was standing at the counter and blocking their view each time we were in there. Were handing this over to Visa and will never patronize Liddells again. Very bad form.

The team at Orange County Linens (especially Eduardo) were great to work with! They kept an open line of communication with us throughout the entire process, and despite being a good distance away, they came to us multiple times to make sure they had all the correct measurements and details. They worked within our budget, and around our schedule. We were very pleased with the final product, and will absolutely use them for any future drapery needs!

Highway Specialty Company

Been dealing with these pilot cars for a week leading us through CA199. This stretch of highway does not allow 53 foot trucks through because of the very narrow and winding turns particularly through two sections that we call “the Narrows” and “ Washington Hill”. As 48 foot trailer drivers we holler out to each other on the CB when we approach these sections so that we can take turns making it through so we don't hit each other. For some reason pilot cars are leading traffic both ways through these sections without regard to the extremely narrow and winding corners causing near collisions every single day I've been through. Could you please explain to me why they are piloting traffic this way instead of taking turns to lead northbound and southbound traffic through these two sections? It is literally the only two dangerously narrow and steep sections on the entire road. All day long all of us truck drivers are complaining on the CB about what a nightmare it is and wondering if they realize???? today I made a special effort to take the name of the company and make this post hoping that someone might rethink guiding northbound and southbound traffic through these two sections of the road with special regard to large trucks. These two sections need a flagger for large trucks. For reference take a look at the guard rail at Washington Hill. Prayers a trailer doesn't go over that edge before this is addressed properly.

Advanced Automotive

I recently came to Redding for school and I've brought my campervan to Advanced Automotive two times. I cannot recommend them enough. The owner is kind and honest and their team is proficient at diagnosing not just the problem, but the root of it, explaining what's happening and fixing the underlying causes as well so that you're not left to fix the same thing a year later. They found things wrong with my van that other mechanics missed, they showed me pictures and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. My van was not road safe and despite their crazy schedule – if you haven't read the reviews yet, everyone wants to bring their car here – they got me in immediately. The diagnosis was shocking and financially devastating and despite that, Cody (the owner) scheduled me right away, explained what needed to be done, worked with me in ways he did not have to and made sure that I had a safe van to drive to school.Keep reading and you'll find that this place is more than a mechanic shop. When I moved here, I didn't know anyone. It's in their office that I learned that I got an interview for my dream job and later got the job offer. They celebrated me, not in a surface level way, but in the kind of way that induces such joy that you become humble, still with gratitude and stunned silent by the power of the human experience. It's a moment I'm sure they'll forget, but I'll always remember. We've laughed, shared stories, I've cried happy and sad tears here, they've fed my dog artisanal beef jerky… which she'll be disappointed to discover will not be her new treat! This team is one of a kind, they've made Redding feel like home and I'm so incredibly thankful to have found them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

AAA Redding Branch

Im not even sure if this is the correct business to leave this review but I feel compelled to voice my extreme gratefulness...a couple of weeks ago I was doing some light grocery shopping at Mighty Fine Foods in Bella Vista and I had placed my groceries on the passenger side floorboard and I then placed my handbag in the passenger side seat. I closed the passenger side door and walked around to the drivers side but was devastated when I realized that my car had locked itself in the 5 seconds it took me to walk to the other side. And to add to the incredible frustration, my phone was inside of my handbag and I dont have anyones phone number memorized. I had no idea what I was going to do...if worse came to worse, I would have probably broken the sunroof glass. I went inside and asked the clerk if Uber was available all the way out here but he had no idea. An older gentleman overheard me and asked if I had locked myself out of my car. I replied yep and he smiled and said Ill get you taken care of...Im a Triple A driver. It LITERALLY took him less than 60 seconds to get my drivers side door open for me and I was able to head home without having to break my window. Sir, whoever you are... whichever AAA you work for should be incredibly proud to have you on their team. You are an amazing human being and I sincerely appreciated your help that super freaking hot day lol youre an angel. Thank you. And hey...AAA... give that man a raise...or at least a vacation. You guys have gained a customer with me...if I ever lock myself out or need a tow or something I will call you guys first from now on. Great customer service goes such a long way. Thanks again Sir...you rock.
