U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer
1911 San Ramon Valley Blvd, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
Well run by friendly managers, easy and convenient location. I have rented 4 trucks in the past year from this location. They usually have the truck size I want, and trucks are always clean and ready to go with whatever extra equipment Ive reserved.I am *not* a fan of UHauls self check-in system. The concept is great if only it was user-friendly. The system was extremely difficult to navigate even on a brand new, top of the line cellphone (not trying to make a pitch for my phone, just saying difficulty was not due to poor technology on my end). The system kept crashing at the last step, and I ended up searching all over the website to find a live customer service number to request help in order to resolve the issue. The phone rep was patient and helpful and, after it crashed on her 3 times, she was finally able to find a work around but the process still wasnt complete. The personal identification process is over the top and should be clearly laid out at the time of reservation. They require you to upload a copy of a passport, a utility bill showing your address, or provide a name and number of a personal reference. Since I dont usually leave my house with my passport or a utility bill, the only other option was to provide a personal reference whom they called while I held on line. I was picking up the truck at 6 am, and my reference is in another time zone, 3 hours behind. They woke her up at 3 am just to ask her if she knew me.The whole thing made no sense. If I was a dishonest person, I could have simply given a number of a would-be accomplice to vouch for me, and it would have provided no assurance I was legit. Rather pointless, and it proved nothing in terms of my intentions for renting the truck or my trustworthiness. If I had known Id have to spend 40 minutes outside in the cold trying to navigate this whole nonsensical process, I would have gone to another truck rental company even if it meant paying more.Thats on the corporation, though. The local dealer, as described, came through on their end by having the truck ready. UHaul seriously needs to reconsider their system for self check-in.

PROSFacility - the entire facility is new-ish/modern, very well maintained, clean, including the office. You see staff actively cleaning, sweeping, and taking care of the facility.Staff - I believe Jewel is the manager, and the one who I interacted with the most. She is genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. All around, a great person to work with during the whole process.CONSDust - I needed the place to store my items for about 3 months, which isnt a terribly long time by any measure. When it came to move out, I was SHOCKED by the amount of dust/grit that was on everything. I was not expecting a science lab clean room, but if you see the photo, you can see the amount that accumulated on EVERYTHING in the few months I was there. Turns out there is a 1-2 inch gap (see photo) that runs along the sides where the walls meet the ceiling. I am guessing this allows for air flow to help keep the place cooler in hot months, but this gap also allows a ton of dust into your storage unit. Had I known this was going to happen, I could have easily put a painters plastic tarp over my items, which would have taken a few minutes and a few dollars. Instead, I am now having to store all these items in my garage as a staging area, as I need to wipe down EVERY SINGLE ITEM of dust/grit before bringing them inside. This is going to take me days. Cardboard boxes which are taped up, can be wiped down, however, items that were uncovered, such as a vacuum which has endless nooks and crannies, its going to be impossible to remove all the dust. And cloth/fabric furniture items that were uncovered .....Stickers - They place a company branded sticker over your locks as some type of security or verification measure which is fine. However, its impossible to remove cleanly without leaving sticky residue over your lock.
The Home Depot
2750 Crow Canyon Rd, San Ramon, CA 94583, United States
I am a general contractor and I expend more than 1 million dollars in Home Depot every year. I have been always happy with the services but today 5/11/23 around 3 pm I was in San Ramon location with my 78 year old father that he is suffering from cancer. We were in the doors section and we find the door we need in the top shelfs that need to be move down with a Home Depot worker. After waiting to see if someone is available for long time I went to the cashier and asked her to call someone to come to the Island 28 to help us and she did. I came back to the Island 28 and Gabby the lady that was sitting close there and was speaking with other customers told me with a very rude tone (you have to be patient) I didn'saanything and I thought maybe she had a bad day, when she finished with her costumer she came to us and we showed her what do we need. She said again with a very rude tone to my father go and close the gate she is going to use the elevator to bring the door for us. And she did. My father asked her for more items we needed and she disappeared . We were waiting 30 minutes until she came back and my father told her he had cancer and why you left us with out letting us know. She gets very angry and said she was in the restroom. She said she doesn't want to speak with us and doesn't want to help us at all. My father asked her what is your name? She used a bad word to my father. I get angry and screamed of her (be polite) she used bad language and just left us. So We went to other Home Depot location in Pleasant town and we did our purchases over there. I hope a manager of Home Depot read my message and if they have cameras just checks what happened in San Ramon location. Home Depot always had very good customer service. She ruins Home Depots reputation.
