Simi-U-Rent

Well, we're never going to Simi-U-Rent again. We rented a piece of machinery to get our fence posts out so we could put up a new fence. The concrete was light enough that my fiancé could lift it, but the hydraulic arm on the dingo we rented bent. Probably because the damn thing is as old as dirt.My fiancé did the right thing, told them what happened, and asked if we could have a pro rated rental for something else so we can finish the job. The owner refused to rent anything further to us and was awful about the whole situation. Thankfully we were able to get a partial refund because we weren't able to get to the parts that used the other equipment we rented.I would strongly advise anyone considering renting from there to find another place. Their customer service is god awful and the machines will only work for an hour or two after you've paid for a day.

Jolly Bouncers

The amount of professionalism that this small business owner has is laughable. I have rented water slides from this company 4 years in a row, and also referred others to them but this year has tipped me over the edge. Every year there's been slight issues here and there but this year it's been nothing but trouble from the start. I reserved this slide in April and hadn't heard anything leading up to the party date so I called to confirm Friday's slide delivery on the Monday before. When i called and asked for confirmation, the owner, Mark, scoffed at me and said “didn't you get a confirmation email??” Well, yes i did, in April, but i simply wanted to confirm Friday's delivery. He then said yes, Friday delivery between 8am and 11am and that they were picking up Saturday evening as they were running an advertised special of buy one day get the second day for free, my party was beginning at 1pm. EVERY year that we had this slide, except last year, they had the bottom pool plugged so there was a bit of water that the kids could splash into. Last year they forgot the plug, so when i called I asked mark to make sure it was plugged. He responded to my request with “ma'am, do you WANT to hurt your children?” EXCUSE ME?!?! I explained to him that i was confused because every year they plugged it besides last year, he then continued with his condescending tone “ma'am I've been doing this for a long time and unless you want to hurt your children, you don't want to plug the slide” ABSOLUTELY unacceptable response, accusing me of wanting to hurt my children??? This was the beginning of MARK's rude and unprofessional tone and words.Day of the party, 11am comes and goes, I call to see where the slide is and they said they would call me RIGHT back, 20 minutes later, no call. I call again, where is the slide? No clue. They need to get ahold of the driver. I called them again at 12:30, they don't know where the driver is. What kind of circus are they running??? Finally at 1pm, they show up. Just as all my guests are standing around staring with nothing to do.I asked the driver, what time tomorrow are you going to pick up the slide? He says “probably sunday, maybe Monday, no worries, I'll call you!” (Super nice guy by the way, pay your drivers more, Mark.)Party Friday comes and goes, all hiccups of late delivery aside, Saturday morning I'm out at a baseball tournament for my son, with plans of having the entire team back to my house to slide after the games and i get a call from the lovely owner mark saying he needs to pick up the slide immediately. I called him back and told him that was not what was agreed upon and not what the delivery guy had arranged with me. When i told him that this level of customer service was very poor coming from a Simi Valley small business, he said “lady, you're the one that is barking at me” Yes folks, he told me that I was BARKING at him, aka calling me a “b**ch”. I said “excuse me sir? Barking?” And he responded with “you're the one screaming at me” Folks, I was sitting in the spectator stands at a little league game and never once raised my voice. I let him know that his slide would be ready for him to pick up as soon as i was home and he could come get it. GUESS WHAT, he never showed to pick it up. They showed up at 7:45am Sunday morning while my entire house was sleeping. This after we took the time to blow up and dry the slide after the game Saturday and sat there waiting for them to show up.Joke of a company, RUDE owner, Mark really needs to learn how to speak to people, it's out of control. There are plenty of other slide rental companies here locally that I will now support. This guy will no longer get my money.

Jorge was awesome, as many reviewers have stated. He was very helpful & went above the call of duty for us. The U-Haul online check-in needs an overhaul since the site claims that it can cut check-in time in half, but in reality, it doubled it by making me re-enter same information again at the counter. Dumb!

DELIVERY PROCESS NEEDS REVAMPINGI was supposed to have a refrigerator delivered last Tuesday. I called around noon to report that I had not received any notification about the delivery. The person I spoke to looked up my info and told me it was in transit and should be delivered by 8:00 PM.At 8:00 PM no delivery had been made. I called and spoke to a different person who told me there was a glitch in the system and my refrigerator was supposed to be on the box truck but that did not happen. She said she would try to get my delivery scheduled for the following Tuesday, today.Yesterday I called to make sure it would be delivered today. Nobody could tell me. Late in the evening a nice man called and told me it was supposed to have been delivered last week, but something happened. He didnt know what happened,, but he would try to locate my refrigerator and get it on the truck for the following day. He suggested I call back in the morning.I just called, at 9:30AM. I was told THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF MY REFRIGERATOR IS GOING TO BE DELIVERED TODAY. Apparently a box truck comes whenever it feels like, takes some delivery items and leaves. NO ONE IN THE STORE KNOWS WHAT IS ON THE TRUCK.This is beyond ridiculous. Im supposed to spend another day waiting for an item that may or may not be delivered and NO ONE AT HOME DEPOT CAN TELL ME. BTW, the delivery window is 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.Cmon---- you should be better than this!!UPDATEA male called me to verify my address for delivery. He told me that they would not bring the refrigerator into the house. I told them Home Depot had said that the refrigerator would be brought over the threshold into the first room. He asked if there were stairs. I told him two steps as I was on a raised foundation. When they arrived, he told me they would leave the refrigerator at the bottom of my front porch steps. I told them Home Depot said they would bring it inside. He told me that he didnt work for Home Depot and that Home Depot shouldnt tell people we are going to do things we arent going to do. He said they couldnt bring it up the two steps because the dolley was broken. I said, you should have a dolley that works. He replied, We should but we dont, in a really snarky tone. I had a guy at my house doing some painting. He got his hammer and helped them repair their dolley. They literally crossed the threshold then took the refrigerator off the dolley. I think they only put it back on the dolley and moved it further into the house when they realized they had blocked their exit.To top it off, the refrigerator had 3 dents and a huge scratch. I was pleased with the original price but its not worth the aggravation. I am returning the dang refrigerator. Ugh.I kind of like Home Depot--- I have spent a ton of money I the last few weeks. But they have GOT to get this subcontractor delivery thing under control. ?
