U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer

I moved recently and needed to rent a van on two days in December - the 23rd and 26th. I was pleasantly surprised by the service that I received and the convenience scheduling they had so close to the holiday. This is a small local business and Im very happy that I was able to support it.I met three people and all three were outgoing, kind, and helpful. I was met at the road when I returned the vehicle and didnt even have to go inside. I received my receipt via email in a very short period of time. The billing was spot on and I really appreciate that they didnt waste the paper of printing everything out.I also want to point out that other reviews have a lot of hyperbole around the fact that there is a dog at this location. Bella (the dog) is probably one of the best trained canines I have met. Shes a sweetheart. Shes running around with a tennis ball in her mouth and trots up for a pet. I really cant State strongly enough that there is nothing frightening about this dog.Now with regards to parking, this business is located in an urban area and there is limited parking on the street. Its very limited. My opinion is that this is normal for this type of area. The other shops in the area also have limited parking and I have never had a U-Haul place that had unlimited free parking. So to put it simply, plan ahead.I want to thank the staff for making my two days of hauling and renting the pleasant experience. Anytime I need to rent a truck, this will be the place that I go.

Truck Rental at U-Haul
25290 Jeronimo Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
Ive been scammed. Very rude service and I have been charged $285 that I never agreed to.I originally booked online a 20 truck through a costa mesa location with a three 3 day deal which included 238 miles. A few days before my reservation I was told that I had to pick up in Lake Forest to get a 20 truck. I agreed to the location change. When I picked up the truck and paid, the person who helped me, took my payment for the deal I booked online. He said everything was fine and I would only have to pay for miles over the 238 that the deal provided. When I returned the truck, the man who helped me return the truck was very rude to me. He explained that I only booked the truck for a one day rental for only 19 miles. I explained that I booked and already paid for a specific 3 day deal with many more miles than that. He was very rudely accusatory and asked for proof of the deal. I felt pressured and flustered as I went through my emails which shows the three day rental, but none of the uhaul emails confirmed the # of miles. He behaved like he thought I was lying because I couldnt find the exactly email on my phone and screen shot of the deal I had confirmed with the gentleman who originally rented me the truck. He then told me a manager would be in contact with me because he kind of thought there was some sort of online deal.NO MANAGER HAS CONTACTED ME, BUT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED $285 in MILEAGE that should have been included in the online promotion that I booked. Im stopping payment on my credit card. I do believe I was a few miles over the allotment for the deal, but not $285 worth. Also, they asked me to drive further to pick up the truck, so really my overage miles were incurred because I had to drive 15 miles out of my way to get the truck and drop it off... so im paying for that too.The only reason I booked this truck was because the online promotion worked in my favor.I feel scammed and Im never renting from Uhaul ever again.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Lake Forest
25290 Jeronimo Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
Overall, lazy and indifferent customer service.I rented a 10 truck for one day, along with 2 dollies and 6 blankets. When paying, I was asked for the estimated mileage, to which I replied 25 miles. I returned the truck 1 hour before scheduled, at 24 miles of use, with the gas refueled, and and the interior of the truck quite clean as I had swept it prior to the return and there was no trash or any other items inside other than the dollies and blankets, which were in a small pile next to the dollies. I went inside the facility and returned the keys to the customer representative slouched in a chair behind the desk, chatting with a work colleague. He took the keys and said, Youre good. I asked if he needed to inspect the truck, to which he replied, Nope, well email the receipt. Three days later, the final charge on my card was $25 more than expected. I checked my email for the receipt, which had not been sent. I took the time to return to the facility to inquire about the additional amount. The same person was slouched behind the desk, and he informed me that the amount was just a temporary additional hold that would disappear in 3 to 5 business days (without even consulting the bill). I replied that the final charge had cleared the card and asked for a printed receipt. Begrudgingly, he opened the transaction on the computer and printed a receipt, and handed it to me. It was here I discovered a $25 cleaning charge had been added. I asked why, given the truck was returned clean. He mumbled. Well, they take pics, which he proceeded to look up. There was a single pic of the 6 blankets. You didnt fold the blankets, he said. I said, They charge $25 to fold 6 blankets? At a rate of $125 an hour, based on simple math? He shrugged and said,Its in the contract. I replied that wasnt pointed out, and he replied,we dont point all that stuff out.Unfortunately, this persons ambivalence and laziness overshadowed the decent experience I had with the gentlemen who provided service when I got the truck. I highly recommend that you seek another provider for your truck rental needs. There are other providers Ive used within reasonable distance of this location that provide a much better customer experience.

Blackwell Insurance Agency

For most of us, insurance is a necessary evil. It's not fun. But, it comes at great peril to neglect insurance needs. Insurance companies appear to be backing out of California. Our family has long and faithfully paid two big, well known, insurance companies to cover our family's properties as well as other insurance needs. We got a whiff that one of our providers was not going to renew one of our policies. So, we called our other provider and asked if they'd write a policy, for the affected property. They declined. I was stunned. Our loyalty and patronage over many years didn't mean a thing to either these behemoths in the industry. That's where Ken Haraughty and his team at Blackwell Insurance Agency stepped in. They are a multi-generational family insurance broker. They called around and found a provider who would write the new policy. As we made the arrangements, Ken was responsive and reliable, texting and calling us, beyond office hours, until he got us squared-away. We were never dumped into a robo-phone system. Nobody ever spoke in cloying tones, telling us they, “understood our frustration.” Ken will be our first call, should we ever have a claim or question, regarding the new policy. We never had a dedicated contact, with the household name companies, who so happily cashed our checks for the many years prior. We do now!

CARSTAR Lake Forest
20781 Canada Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
My insurance company referred me to this body shop, but I had a terrible experience. When I received my car after a week, it was in bad condition with visible paint marks all over the body. The spare tire was not in its place in the trunk, and the right side door was dented. When I raised these issues, they sent someone to remove the dent at my work location. A few weeks later, I noticed that the left rear door lock didnt work with the key fob, and it was from the side that was repaired. I took the car back to the body shop and waited for one hour until they diagnosed the issue. They said one part was broken, and we needed to order it. They asked me to bring the car back the following Monday. I returned the car to the body shop on Monday, and the person who received my car opened the trunk and took a picture. I had some tools in my trunk for my overnight work. Replacing the broken part took them 40 minutes, and I received the car. The next day, I went to my overnight work and noticed my Dewalt drill and cable tester were missing from the trunk. I emailed the manager asking if they removed anything from the trunk and didnt hear back from them. I reported the stolen tools to my insurance, and after my insurance agent called them, someone from the body shop reached out to me and asked about the details of my missing drills. Its been two weeks since they called, and Im still waiting for someone to contact me. Im disappointed about my experience with this body shop. Not only did they not do a professional job, but they also took my tools!

The Village Lodge Mammoth
1111 Forest Trail, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546, United States
What was supposed to be an enjoyable, fun filled trip with my family has turned out to be the worst experience in customer service and cleanliness that I have ever recieved. Choosing The Village Lodge seemed like the most logical and convenient Choice considering the location and amenities. But I stand corrected.. Upon walking down the hallway to where our room was located which is on the same floor as the lobby, my family noticed a putrid smell coming from one of the rooms. The smell was definitely noticeable and not pleasant. . Upon entering the room, everything seems great, on the surface, but if you look at your bed, and the cleanliness of the room. You can tell that there are all kinds of Corners cut when it comes to germ disinfection. The reason for this 1 star is because of the night staff and there EXTREMELY POOR customer service and Officer HANSEN of Mammoth County Pd. This level of disrespect and lack of customer value is horrendous. Lets not forget OFFICER HANSEN. Mr. Do you not see my badge and MY GUN.Around 6:45pm Saturday-MAY 25th 2019- casually return from dinner plan to win the night down so we can be up early tomorrow for our events. The Village Lodge had a different plan for us. At 6:50, loud music starts to be played in the conference room that is below our unit. We call the front desk to address the situation and try and have the music lowered. 20 minutes passes and the music gets louder. We call again, and the front desk says theyre going to come to the room to see how loud the music is. At this point, the music is vibrating the ground. 84 decibels. So were definitely not sleeping, let alone carry a pleasant conversation. 30 minutes goes by still nothing is done and the music is even louder. Decide to go to the front desk, and speak to the night manager(Michelle) which is completely unhelpful. Showing no empathy. I think that somebody that gave her the job out of pity hoping that she could manage a staff of children. Thats right, children, no one on staff is properly trained, or courteous. No customer service skills.. NONE.. This is a highly unprofessional environment and if you want to be treated like a number. This spot is for you. At the front desk, there is now an overwhelming number of Staff behind front desk, thats absolutely unnecessary, why do you suddenly need seven people behind the front desk, handling a single guest. During this entire debacle, we discover that there is PROM going down downstairs so we want to be compensated for being booked the same night as prom. Thats it. All we want is refund. A refund for your mistake of booking us in room with this level of mysic. We wanted the prom to rock on but not at pur exoense. We were informed theres nothing that could be done and we were just going to have to deal with it or they were going to call the police if we didnt leave the front desk. I invited them to please call the police, and that maybe we can get some real professional assistance. But I again I stand corrected, I hope that not all officers of the Mammoth County Police Department conduct themselves like Officer Hanson. Poor Excuse for a person supposedly upholding the law. After waiting for the police to arrive at the front desk, for about 30 minutes we decided to go back to our room and have them come to us. Another 15 minutes later Officer Hanson bangs on the door loudly as some sort of intimidation tactic. First he said that he was called here by staff, then he said that he was assigned to the prom. Basically, hes a young kid that was assigned to watch high school kids. Before hearing both sides of the story immediately began barking out commands and when asked for clarification of his job. Stated DONT you see this and my gun . After all of this, still nothing has been done. Youre basically told to sit in our rooms and be quiet, and this to me is not okay. Not ok. Starting the process of filing a formal complaint with Mammoth Lakes Pd.
