Avis Car Rental
617 Airport Way, Modesto, CA 95354, United States
I had a very bad experience with AVIS. I reserved a car online using my employers benefits. My employer provides benefits covers the LDW (Loss Damage waiver) insurance. While I booked it online using my companys email-ID it allowed me to confirm the booking. However, when I arrived at SFO airport the AVIS rep discarded my booking. She said she would not be able to provide the LDW since its not a business travel. This rule is something that the rep came up with by herself. I checked all the possible documents available from my employer, nowhere does it mention that the booking is contingent to the business travel ONLY. Another thing is we had to wait for >1 hour before we got the rental car at the airport. I have never had such bad experience with any other car rentals. Finally, we got our car and we drove maybe around ~150 miles that is when the car started acting up. It was disengaging the gears and returning to neutral whenever we had to pass a car, which means we had to throttle the gas pedal a bit before overtaking. This was so dangerous since the car was returning to neutral every now and then we had to slow down our speed and this completely messed with our travel plans. After experiencing this we immediately looked for any nearby AVIS car rentals. The closest we found was in Modesto.Specific to this store:We called the store before arriving to see if they have any available cars, since we had full-size SUV. Person on the call confirmed they do have one. We immediately went to the store and were Horribly greeted by a lady who seems to run the entire store. She was rude and didnt at all empathize with our situation she also asked us to fill up the gas (although we had trouble with the car that was provided by AVIS). She said she has no cars available at the shop and no matter what anyone says over the call she would not give it. We really wanted to get the car as soon as possible since our next travel plan was at stake, we didnt argue much downgraded to a regular size SUV. While leaving the shop we did spot multiple Full-size SUV in the parking lot.At the time of checkout while returning the car I was asked to checkout at the counter since there was some issue with their system. I had to run and catch my flight because of their system issue. Akk in all- never going with this car rental company.

UHaul really needs to step up their game.My experience today has been terrible. I reserved a trailer online ahead of time at a specific location because it's close to me. I received an email a day before stating that my reservation was updated and that the trailer I requested was now available at a different location. I'm thinking okay then because I need it. So we drive to the other location which is about 20 minutes away and when we get there the employee says” uhhh the trailer isn't here at this location for you” I show the employee the email stating that the trailer is available for me and he looks like a deer in headlights. After he fiddles with the system he tells me the trailer is available at the original location I had requested. I'm quite frustrated at this point and the employee could care less. No apology, no further customer service to even attempt to make my experience better. We then start the journey back to the UHaul location where I wanted to pick up the trailer. I put my earbuds in to call UHaul customer service because I really want to provide feedback about what has transpired.I'm on hold for over an hour! I was on hold while going to the UHaul location and when I get there guess what- they need to scan my license! My license expired back in May 2021 and I renewed it online. I rented a UHaul truck a month ago when I moved to Modesto and the UHaul location said no problem! We believe you just show us the proof. Imagine my frustration when this comes up. I explained to the employee but he insisted that it's their policy blah blah blah. So I use my dad's license. We finally get the trailer and yes, still on hold with UHaul customer service. I finally reach someone who hears me out and tells me at the end of my rant that there's nothing he can do for me aside from forward my information to the UHaul manager at the location I was at. Really UHaul?! You had me holding for over an hour just to tell me that!? SMH. I expected better service. So disappointed. Let's see what the manager says when they call me.

Generally I have found businesses that hang a sign regarding being rude to their employees, we will ask you to leave or call legal action, are defending bad employees. This business as again reinforce that point. Rudest employees I have ever met.I can see why they would think they need to hang a sign to protect their employees, no doubt they get numerous complaints from the consumers.

U-Haul Moving & Storage Of Modesto
4131 McHenry Ave, Modesto, CA 95356, United States
Absolutely the worst UHaul customer service ever! Reservation #87223046I've used UHaul more than seven times in the last few years, and this experience takes the cake! Not only did they not allow me to pick up my equipment where I rented it, which is 15 minutes from my house, they chose TWO places thirty minutes from my house in two different directions, so I had to drive south for thirty minutes to drop off my husband, then drive north an hour to pick up the second item.To make matters worse, when I got there, I needed to use the bathroom. The lady informed me they didn't have a public bathroom. At this point, I'm still being nice as I ask, “Where do you go; there's no place around here?” She informs me, “We don't have ‘public' restrooms,” then informs me my appointment is no good; “we won't have your equipment for two and a half hours.” I'm still calm, because I really need to use the bathroom. “Ma'am, I've been driving for one and a half hours, may I please use your facilities?”“No...there's a place down the street.” Now I'm thinking... “Why should a place down the street allow me? I didn't spend $3000 there.”I beg her, remind her how far I've driven, and that I'm the only person inside the establishment, and she insists, “No!”At this point, I run out the door, because the UHaul is located in a commercial district. First gas station, no facilities. First fast food restaurant, closed down.Twenty minutes later, in tears, I find a fast food restaurant. Now tell me, as a paying customer, when you know your location is in the middle of nowhere, AND you're changing your appointment time by two and a half hours, why wouldn't you allow a fifty-year-old woman who's begging you, in tears, to use your restroom? What is the “customer service” world coming to?I can't even express how utterly sad I am that they would treat a customer who's spending three thousand dollars like this! I mean, she's human, right? Not a robot! Surely she understands physical needs. Then again, I guess not! ?

U-Haul at Kansas Ave

This place legitimately needs to be shut down.I made a reservation with Uhaul Modesto to ship a Ubox to Michigan, but at the last second it was transferred to these guys. It has been one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences in my entire life, no joke! Originally I was supposed to load on 12/13, box shipped 12/16, and arrive in Michigan 12/31. Heres the actual progression:12/11/19 - Website said I had 24/7 access to my U-box. I found out only AFTER calling this place that I had to access my box no less than 2 hours before closing. The lady I spoke to sounded like she had zero idea what she was talking about...I had to pry and do all the thinking for her in order to get any answers.12/13/19- Reservation was cancelled from underneath me without any notice on the day of the reservation. I only found out because I gave them a courtesy call that I was on my way down there so they could grab my box. This lack of communication is a theme with this company. The pickup was immediately bumped to 12/19 because of this. Thankfully I had my van rental for the full weekend.12/14/19 - I started loading my stuff. Guy (Fernando?) sold me a lock for 3 or 4 bucks. Turns out it cost almost double that when I checked out, after I already placed the lock on my ubox.12/21/19 - I arrived in Michigan and noticed the box was still Preparing for Shipment. I kept an eye on the box for a few more days, and whenever the Pickup Date arrived, it would shift forward a couple more days.12/24/19 - I called the u-haul 1-800 number. They said it would be shipping by Thursday 12/26. It did not. I expected this with it being the day after Christmas.12/27/19 - I called u-haul again on Friday. Same response just to keep an eye out12/28/19 - I called the u-haul store directly. The person said theyd leave a note for the manager and he would call me back. Surprise, he didnt12/28/19 - Later that day I called the 1-800 number, and, SURPRISE, the box was magically scanned for shipment that morning, shortly after I called the store. How long would the box have sat there if I hadnt made this call?12/30/19 - Box finally ships on Monday. Called the store again and decided to wait for however long it took to speak directly to the manager. waited on hold for 15 minutes to speak to the manager, and he said it was Being loaded on the truck right now. Apparently it actually was. My box was supposed to leave on 12/16, but thanks to this store, didnt leave until 12/30.Once my stuff was on its way, I could finally breath again and was almost ready to let all of this slide...until today. When I made my reservation, the website said I would be receiving 1 month of free storage in Michigan. This morning, I was charged $99.15 for storage, resulting in an overdraft fee from my bank. Apparently, because these guys cancelled and re-made my reservation, I lost the promotion but still had the storage contract. Luckily, I didnt end up needing it and the store out here is going to give me my money back, but regardless these guys tried to steal $100 from me after all of this. And you know the kicker of all of this? The uhaul website lists a guaranteed arrival date. Thats a straight up lie. Its only guaranteed once its on the truck, so they moved around my guaranteed arrival date however they saw fit. There is zero incentive for a store like this to fulfill their end of the contract....and I will be receiving exactly zero compensation for all the problems this place caused. I try to be a nice guy and get along with as many people as possible, and I understand that things happen. But I will not put up with paying a company to screw me over like what happened here.DO NOT GO HERE. And most importantly, DO NOT EVER USE U-BOX. Spend the extra money on a Pod, or a trailer, or anything else, but do not entrust your belongings to this company.

U-Haul Moving & Storage at McHenry Ave
2012 McHenry Ave, Modesto, CA 95350, United States
First of all, the access hours at this location is not what's listed online or in the app. Their access hours are actually 7am to 7 pm and apparently according to the manager Mike, I'm supposed to call to confirm the hours are different from what's posted online and in the app. I arrived with hired help at 8 pm and was denied access into the building. I experienced Awful customer service from Mike. Not to mention, Their elevator is out of service for access to second floor and they don't have anything of the same size on the first floor to give me. After all the issues and expenses I incurred due to them not being open, they were not willing to offer me any compensation of a free month of rental for the 70 extra miles driven in the U-Haul and additional day rental costs to return the truck. I also had to take the day off of work to handle this situation and find storage at another location and had to pay for the moving guys a second time. Absolutely awful experience with the manager Mike and his bad attitude. Would not recommend trusting them with my belongings.

Burnside Body Shop
526 10th St, Modesto, CA 95354, United States
I just have to say that from my initial contact with Burnside, everyone has been super friendly, professional and accommodating. Weeks after my estimate I came to realize that it was the owner himself who checked out my car and gave me an estimate. It was towards the end of the day on a Friday and I felt bad about imposing upon them near closing time. Not only was I reassured that I was not an imposition, but my estimate was emailed to me by the time I got home from running errands that day! Besides the superb professionalism with the estimate, the office staff has been beyond awesome. Sarah, Nicole and Gabby are just the sweetest gals who were so helpful with my insurance company correspondence. ? Their knowledge and insight of the process was a game-changer and made things easy. This place is run like a well oiled machine, despite our current global struggle. I called and spoke to Jared, asking if I could add a touch up to the bumper and he was kind and accommodating. I appreciate Burnside's willingness to ensure my satisfaction. They're definitely at the top of my Christmas list. If their finished product is anything like my experience thus far, I'll be ecstatic. I should get my car back Monday so will update my post with pictures then!?

He listened attentively to my requirements and asked thoughtful questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of what I was looking for in a vehicle. His extensive knowledge of the cars on the lot was impressive, and he provided valuable insights and recommendations that helped me make an informed decision.Martins customer service skills were exceptional. He was friendly, approachable, and patient throughout the entire process. He promptly responded to all of my inquiries and addressed any concerns I had with a high level of professionalism. Martin was genuinely dedicated to finding the right car for me, and he made sure that I was completely satisfied with my choice. One aspect that stood out to me was Martins transparency. He provided clear and detailed information about the pricing, financing options, and any additional fees involved. There were no hidden surprises or unexpected costs, which made the negotiation process smooth and stress-free.Moreover, Martins follow-up and post-sale support were remarkable. Don't come saying you don't have any records of anyone with my my name .. look up PADILLA with the KIA SOUL.Horrible workmanship, tried to convince me to take my vehicle with a crease in the bumper that wasn't there before the damage. After I refused the vehicle they said they'd fix it. Kept it 3 extra days to do so. I went back to get it and found even more issues not to mention, now it has a 2” SQUARE DENT Where they “tried” to repair the crease with more poor quality work! The manager tried to tell me that they wouldn't repair it any further even though he admitted IT WAS WORSE THAN BEFORE!I'm shocked at the unprofessionalism here and shocked by how we were treated. The manager (MIGUEL) screamed at us in the parking lot. He was very unprofessional and I actually have him on camera. I also noticed the Paint is a different color where all the repairs were made. They didn't blend it right and they clearly didn't match the paint with cards. They also did not make any alternate versions of the color to get a good match (as a professional shop would) The bumper had a piece replaced and get this, THEY DIDN'T EVEN PAINT IT! They left it black plastic instead of titanium gray like it was before! My vehicle now looks like a BASE MODEL Soul and not the + that it is! Wish I could post photos, I have so many of this despicable work! There is red marker UNDER THE CLEAR COAT from where they make the marks on what they are and are not going to fix. REALLY? You don't clean off the marker before applying the clear coat?? The clear coat on the door panels is blurry. Initially it was blurry and not properly blended, they kept 3 extra days saying they'd correct it and corrected nothing and made other issues WORSE.There is clear coat dried in clumps all over the driver side mirror encasement as well. They refused to fix ANY OF IT, screamed at us and threatened to sue us over telling them we weren't happy with repairs in front of a customer. I'm sorry but if I'm not happy with poor quality repairs.. I AM SPEAKING ON IT.. IN FRONT OF WHOEVER I WANT!!! I may even sit out front with my vehicle and show everyome the poor work that they do!!!I'm so shocked by the horrible workmanship and unprofessionalism going on here. I see now why google reviews has so many 1 stars .. ALL SAYING THE SAME THING THAT I AM! They give you a car that is not in the same condition it was prior to whatever damages occurred. It's disgusting to think of how many people that they have tricked into just accepting their cars even though they were unhappy. STAY FAR AWAY!!!!The manager also stated he could care less if they lost AAA's business! It would be no loss to him. If I'm not mistaking AAA is one of the largest insurance companies out there and in my opinion loss of referrals by them would result in a significant amount of lost income for caliber collision... way to go MIGUEL! GREAT ATTITUDE FOR A PROFESSIONAL.IF YOU HAVE HAD A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE HERE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU LEAVE A REVIEW! Let others know this shop is NOT what it trys to portray itself as! Nice logos, Clean establishment and snacks in the lobby is all there to trick you into trusting their work. They hope you will not look at your vehicle on pick up ... despicable!
