CHICO CAR CARE
1369 E 9th St, Chico, CA 95928, United States
I first took my 08 Prius to Chico Car Care about a year ago to get a check engine light looked at. We had it scanned at Autozone and after looking up the code it appeared the coolant pump was toast and needed to be repaired. We had the car towed in to Chico and Dan and the crew diagnosed the car as having a “bad computer” and it would be over $1k to replace. I told Jonathan that we ran the code and it definitely was something to do with the inverted coolant pump, but he assured me they had a high tech scanner that picked up on things other scanners did not.$1k later and we got our car back. All was good until 70 miles down the road, we were hit with the SAME exact code. We had the car towed back into Chico to be dropped off at the shop and canceled our road trip plans. Sure enough what was the repair? The inverted coolant pump. Dan agreed to have us just pay for the part and he'd eat the labor cost. That is the only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1.I recently gave them a try with some regular maintenance (brake fluid change, oil change, transaxle service, filter changes) and sure enough on our next trip the tire pressure sensor goes off on the dash. I swung by the shop and Dan told me that there is no way they damaged the sensor (which I find a bit hard to believe given the sensors are very new). I also asked Dan for the inspection paperwork along with repair schedule and never received it, leading me to believe it was probably never done. These guys seem great and I'm sure that they used to be decent - but their quality of work has gone downhill and when you are spending so much money, I'd expect the service to be much better.Update on 12/14/21 - Dan reached out to me and sent over the inspection paperwork as well as help with resolving the sensor issue.
Fix Auto Chico
275 E Park Ave, Chico, CA 95928, United States
We have taken our vehicle to Fix Auto Chico twice now and both times have been less than phenomenal. The first time was for a bumper replacement, and while their quality of work was acceptable, they were exceedingly late on their time estimate and well over their monetary estimate. They wrote down our contact info wrong and failed to keep us informed on the status of the car and when it was ready, not to mention an attempt to collect holding fees for the vehicle. This being a nuisance and not a real issue, we brought the car back when we were hit a second time. This time was the culmination of everything bad of the prior experience made worse. We ensured they had our correct contact information and handed the car off for repairs. To their credit, they repaired the vehicle in the time they estimated and at budget. We received the car back and found they had left paint transfer on the vehicle. Due to this being a sub-par repair job, we brought the vehicle back. Without issue, they took the paint transfer off, but had damaged our tail light in the process (and failed to fix it). We, at this point, are exceedingly frustrated at their lack of professional quality. We take it back a third time to discuss the light. The gentleman was fairly understanding and said he would have to order another light and will give us a call within a week to have us bring the car back in to replace it. It is at this point that Fix Auto has fully lost our business. We will not be bringing our vehicles back to them. The reason for this review, however, is that when we called more than a week later to get an update on the light, we find that this gentleman has not communicated with anybody about the status of our vehicle, he (as far as we currently know) has not ordered the light. I am appalled at the waste of time they have bestowed upon us, and I hope that this review can help others avoid our troubles and Fix Auto to fix themselves.
CRBR Property Damage Services - Restoration & C...
2684 CA-32 Suite 100, Chico, CA 95973, United States
Clean Right Build came into our home per an insurance ordered service for a claim. Instead of cleaning up the damage, they exponentially made it worse. Because they did not recognize the standard of toilet water being categorized as category 3 water, they did not take precautions to contain the contamination before blowing water particles containing e coli all over our bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Over $8,000 of our personal property was damaged including our beds, books, and heirloom furniture. Thousands of dollars plus extra time for another more competent company to clean up the mess. Ecoli was found on our ceiling fans and other surfaces due to treating our situation without proper measures. Half our family contracted e coli and was sick for over 2 weeks. I am not sure how we will proceed, but we certainly hope that this company ups its standards before it hurts others the way it has hurt us. We cannot recommend them, and feel compelled to say something for the sake of others.10/10/18 Update: In reply to CRBR reply: We DID reach out to you from day one when you were not going to pull out contaminated carpet, including having your mitigation superintendent, Rick Venard, come out on August 22nd because we had major concerns. He and Linda (whom I spoke with on the phone), admitted to saying that CRBR was going to request approval from the insurance company to remove the shower and vanity because water had gotten under and it wasnt vented. However Rick admitted that they never sent on the request to the insurance company. In regards to the third party test...yours was invalid and confirmed invalid by a more reputable company who gave me a 26 page report and did all the testing while I was there The company sent out when I was not home did not even follow the manufactures instructions for the testing product they used, and ONLY tested in areas NOT affected by the spill...of course there was not bacteria where you had to pull back carpet NOT affected to get a sample. We had a true third party hygienist test taken by another highly reputable company and E. coli, and coliform were found on our CEILING FAN and other surfaces due to contaminated toilet water particles being blown around an unconfined area by CRBR equipment. When my husband tried to reach out to Rick via email after this, he NEVER responded! For you to reply to my review the way you did is unprofessional. Linda, I already spoke with you on the phone and we discussed all the above, including how the test you said cleared your company was invalid. I felt the entire time you were attempting to shift blame. I see that it is common practice of your company to respond to poor reviews by trying to discredit the review and the character of the person writing it. I hope you understand that consumers see through that and it only reflects poorly on the the ethics and character of your company. After not communicating August through October, it took a 1 star review to get you to actually respond to us. Please consider how your remarks to my review are challenging my character, and I am a person in your community. The poor job done in my home can be shaken off, but your response attacked me and hurts in a different way.
The Hignell Companies
1750 Humboldt Rd, Chico, CA 95928, United States
I have only lived here since July. The place is nice and it is quiet. One of the better places in Oroville. But we had a hard rain in Oroville last month. With in minutes my balcony was flooded with water and I couldnt open the door because the water was already up over the base and in the glass area. If I opened the door it would pour in. But the water was running under the door and by the time it was low enough to open the door the water was half way across the living room. This kind of crazy to me as Im on the 2nd floor. My place was easy to fix but the water went down to the 1st floor and ruined the 1st floor apartment. I felt sad for them. But I could do nothing. talking to them, they had just finished fixing there apartment from the last time this happened. I said wait a minute you mean this has happened before? They said yep and they just put it back like it was, didnt fix the problem. It will just happen again and again. You need to address this problem. The balconies dont drain well. 2 floor balconies drain clog very easy. When they drain right, they drain into the 1st floor balconies that have no drains at all that I can see. The apartment below me had a lake down there. No way for the water to get out. Bad design. Maybe add scuppers in the bottom of the walls. Need to add more on 2nd floors for less chance of clogging. Maybe the same on the 1st floor. Drill big holes through the bottom of the walls and add pipes through the holes there to make scuppers there as well. Probably need four or five along the base. I dont know just think out loud. Water attacking your buildings causes mold problems, water damage, rot, which affects your apartment complex and your investment. Continual repairs to a design flaw will never stop till it is fixed. Seem to me you are throwing money down the drain. Spend money to fix your investment and you stop that money drain. Hurts a little at 1st but is better in the end. After all that I would just like to say again that staying here has been nice, management has been very nice. Hope all goes well for you and your properties.
Budget Car Rental
2267 Esplanade, Chico, CA 95926, United States
I called the night before, May 19, to Budget Rental to reserve a car for Saturday. I got a vehicle reserved and called the next morning an confirmed my reservation. I got to the agency about 35 minutes early. The woman at the window (she appeared to be originally from India or Pakistan) was surly as I asked politely to check if my vehicle would be ready. She said there was no reservation. I showed her two calls on my phone that matched her number. Now I was in distress because I needed the car I had reserved. She was mean and angry and rude and dug in her heals. A man with a turban appeared--a much nicer person and told her I had a reservation. She then said, O.K., you need a credit card. I pulled out my license and my debit card, both up to date. Now she had me, a wicked smile coming across her face and started telling me I would need utility bills etc. No one had said anything about another credit card. I have them but I often do not carry them because I do not need them and dont want to lose them. The woman was angry and she decided to take it out on me long before it was known that I did not have a second card. She could have accommodated me and found a way. Now I became extremely late for the meeting I had to attend. The disrespect and meanness of this person; the cold lack of humanity will keep me from ever using their service again. I recommend avoiding that place. People like her should not work in service industries. Shes be better off working away from people. Will
