We are a General Engineering Contractor, since 1991. Our Company (NT Construction) has been using Oakland Rentals since there start; .We are very pleased with their services. They have all the tools that I need for every project at very reasonable price. John and Mac know all the right tools for specific job. I dont know about the previous review but it's totally the opposite for me, I have recommended other‘s including contractors and homeowners alike and they were very pleased with their experience with Oakland Rental
Tool & Truck Rental Center at The Home Depot
4000 Alameda Ave, Oakland, CA 94601, United States
Jeez! I called to try to reach the rental dept, which never answered their phone. Then I got bounced around--ultimately wasting about 5 minutes and getting nowhere, reaching no one except Jeanine(?) the operator, who patched me through to phones which were then never answered. But the point of this review is to TRY TO GET THROUGH TO MANAGEMENT that their outgoing, boiler-plate telephone ad material is set excruciatingly loud. The rest of their phone system seems to be OK (except for the fact that phones dont get answered.) That one outgoing message is so loud that its beyond unprofessional--its OFFENSIVE. Please fix it, will you?Im a regular customer of this store and its a relatively good Home Depot. Im aware that one might argue thats an oxymoron.

1. If you were looking for used containers here, assume you would get defective instead. (Bent door shafts that cannot close door WITHOUT A FORKLIFT, Potholed outer box everywhere). It seems like Used container=Defective container in their standard.2. Do not expect to replace any used containers, or upgrade them to new containers, unless you would like to pay an extra 2x shipping fee even though it is not your fault at all.3. Call them before they dispatch the delivery. They load containers onto the delivery truck without confirming the door position. My containers were loaded face to the rear truck, it was totally wrong way to place my reserved location, so I had to find an alternate one. Otherwise, again, extra round trip shipping fee on me.4. Do NOT expect any service after containers have been delivered. The best service is their response on quoting.Horrible Experience overall.

Vic Joshis Straight Deal Mortgage
4811 Telegraph Ave #511, Oakland, CA 94609, United States
We worked with Vic as our lender when buying our first house and had a great experience! I am a spreadsheet person. I love talking numbers, I love seeing different scenarios laid out next to each other, and in most situations I make a spreadsheet like that myself to help me grasp the whole picture. Vic makes that kind of spreadsheet himself and they were SO extremely helpful to us as we were sorting out how much we wanted to thin out or stretch our budget. Theres a ton of information packed into one of those sheets but Vic was always willing and openly offering to schedule time together to go through each detail even though he himself has a very busy schedule. Despite all this he was always finding ways to accommodate us and when we needed things clarified he did a great job of breaking down what the numbers meant and why it may be advantageous to pick one scenario over another. Put another way, he really helped educate us in the loan process and language, rather than just giving us one number we were stuck with, so now thanks to him were much better equipped going forward if we ever need a loan again or when we refinance. For our specific purchase things got a little wonky at the eleventh hour because it was a limited authority probate sale, but Vic rolled with the punches smoothly, he kept a cool head, took the time to carefully explain our very unusual situation, gently advised us which path would be best to follow, and then quickly turned things around in time for closing and got us a great rate given the current climate. I dont believe another lender would have been able to pull off such last minute changes in the middle of escrow but Vic kept the process rolling on through the finish line! After closing, it also seems he sends out a little newsletter in the physical mail that has some housing news and a little blurb about what hes been up to in his personal life which I think is really sweet. Wed definitely recommend him to others when theyre looking for a lender and well also be speaking to him again when we eventually refinance. Thank you so much Vic!!
Jays Small Moves
2525 Mandela Pkwy, Oakland, CA 94607, United States
I recently moved out of my one-bedroom condo in Oakland and used Jays Small Moves to move my items into a storage unit in a nearby city about 35 miles away. First off, my initial phone call was SO helpful, and I was asked questions like how many boxes I had, large-size furniture to consider, appliances to move, any furniture to dissemble. I was given guidance on how many people in the crew were needed as well as a rough estimate of hours that my move would take, which was helpful in getting an estimate. Their prices are very fair and everything is clearly shared up front. I received multiple emails with helpful details leading up to the move. On move day, my driver was on time and called me in advance. My movers were Dylan, Curtis and Jaleen. Throughout the move, their professionalism was exemplary. They were considerate with my furniture, asked questions to ensure my items were moved appropriately, and were very efficient. They also dissembled my bed frame with ease! No time was wasted. They unpacked the truck and loaded my storage unit with efficiency and made everything fit like a game of tetris. I had the best experience with Jays entire team and will be using them when I move again. Thank you again to Dylan, Curtis and Jaleen. You made this stressful day as easy and efficient as it could have possibly been!
Jain Williams - State Farm Insurance Agent
4222 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA 94619, United States
I initially joined State Farm through Dave Ramseys Smart Vester Pro program. I was matched with an agent from LA and was very pleased with the rates I was quoted. Unfortunately, my agent and his team were not very responsive when I would reach out. I asked to upgrade to collision auto insurance, was quoted a new monthly, and was told not to worry when my bill still reflected the old package price. I had an accident and had to come out of pocket several thousand dollars which really impacted my financial stability and ate up my emergency fund. I contacted my agent at the time to express my frustration and the impact that his non action created. He assured me that he would ensure that the policy would be upgraded. I waited months and it was never changed. I live in Oakland and decided I would switch agents to someone local. I found Jain Williams who had some great reviews so I gave her team a call. My experience was night and day from my initial agent. She and her team went over the transfer process with me, they made sure I understood my policy, and Jain made time to call me personally and welcome me. Every time I have reached out, I have received a call or email within a few hrs. I am beyond pleased with Jains team and my coverage. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
SpringHill Suites Oakland Airport
195 Hegenberger Rd, Oakland, CA 94621, United States
This review is dated April 2021.The property opened in September of 2019, and the room looks to show. The hotel only has five floors. No scenic views, but close to the airport and Alameda Island.According to the hotel staff, all rooms have king sized beds. Either two or one per room. Each room also comes equipped with a microwave and mini fridge.During COVID-19, breakfast is grab and go.The London Bar & Grill is the hotels on-site pub. It was actually opened and the food was good, and reasonably priced. Tried the Angus Burger with waffle cut sweet potatoes fries. The patty was very well seasoned, but the fries were over cooked and came out too crispy.Regarding other amenities, there is one washer and one dryer for the entire hotel. The pool is closed but the fitness center is open 24 hours, with limited capacity of course due to COVID-19.Parking is an additional fee each day, and it's not covered or gated. The team was friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. The rooms are very spacious.I stayed in a 1 king bed room suite, and it came with a trundle bed and a modest desk. The only area I think was a downer was the bedding. The sheets and comforter weren't as downy as I would have liked, but then I remind myself that SpringHill Suites is listed as belonging to Marriott's “select” brand of properties. Which IMO, is a marketing strategy to describe a budget hotel option. So I won't gripe about the sheets because everything else was great. All in all, if your looking for something comfy, modestly priced, and relatively new, then I'd highly recommend this property. As always, safe and happy travels.
