Gibbs Trucks Centers, Oxnard
2201 Ventura Blvd, Oxnard, CA 93036, United States
After reaching out too 6 different diesel mechanics in the Santa Barbara a Ventura a Oxnard area. I chose Gibbs to do a DOT inspection and service my 24 foot fraightliner that I just purchased. After dealing with Penske not keeping their end of the bargain it was hard for me to put trust in another company with my truck.Luckily I went to the right people Adolfo what is the servicemember coordinating everything and staying in touch with me. ! Not only did Gibbs get me in as soon as possible they were tentative and understanding to my needs concerns concerns they went out of their way to make sure I will get my truck back on the road for work the manager stayed 45 minutes late to hand me my keys!I'm a businessman so I really have any free time especially to write reviews. But I always give credit when it's due especially when receiving high-quality service! I would highly recommend this company don't even think twice!!

I couldn't have had a better a smoother transaction purchasing my truck from Donahues given our current restricted interaction circumstances in this Covad-19 climate.James Wilson in sales helped me throughout the process with back and forth negotiations to facilitating the financing and finally delivering the truck I was interested in. He is diligent, knowledgeable and a very skillful communicator that goes above and beyond the call to make you a lifetime customer of the dealership. Another super happy customer. Thank you James I appreciate everything you did.

AGT Trucking School
1503 Callens Rd, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
I needed to remove the E/64 automatic transmission restriction from my Class A license. I reached out to AGT and received a prompt response in less than a 1/2 hour and they sent my training time and scheduled my DMV appointment shortly thereafter. Their price was very affordable and the training was one-on-one. It all happened so quickly and I was walking out of the DMV with my unrestricted Class A license in no time at all. Seriously, an incredible feeling.During my training, I was given plenty of time to practice the stick shift and my air brake run-through. I was also given suggestions on what the DMV examiner may ask during the test, which actually happened and saved me during my air brake test. AGT gave me reassurance and a sense of confidence to pass my drive test and prove that I am a safe and knowledgeable truck driver. I am forever grateful and consider myself lucky to have had AGT to help contribute to my success.Finding the right trucking school in L.A. can be difficult. The trucker shortage has driven school prices up and pushed availability further out causing delays for students wanting their CDL. This doesn't seem to be a problem at AGT and I HIGHLY recommend them whether you are new and getting your Class A license or needing to remove/add a restriction or endorsement. They are honest, always available to answer questions or provide necessary materials, and have the inside scoop to passing the CDL drive test.
U-Haul of Ventura
1322 E Thompson Blvd, Ventura, CA 93001, United States
Uhaul as a company has many challenges to deal with that we as customers are completely unaware of. After many hours of research ( It was a long drive cross country. ha) I am very thankful this company's product and service that it offers, is still even around.1. With some years being worse than others, in the past 30-40 years people have been generally leaving California. The people coming to California are not bringing Moving equip. They are immigrants coming from South of the border, India (Tech Co.), and Chinese (SF) among a splash of others. So what happens is Uhaul rents a truck one way let's say to Ohio or Colorado. That truck is for the most part gone. How many people move from Ohio to Ca? The full price of their house wouldn't put a down payment here. And due to government regulations of contract workers, (They would use college students moving back home years ago) there is little to no way to get that truck back to Ca. So this is quiet the obstacle to overcome. So much so that every other rental truck company (Ryder Penske Budget etc) has failed. . Moving sucks, I'm doing it right now. But, just as with electronic stores, drug stores, recycling locations etc. Years and years of taxation, government regulation, consumers wanting the lowest price but ant to be paid top dolla has killed businesses here in the U,s. Uhaul has hung on. And I would say they do a pretty damn good job .
Enterprise Truck Rental
1144 Arundell Ave, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
Since my work is seasonal, I've been renting from Enterprise for over 10 years. Anywhere from 3 to 6 months a year. I have learned that they have zero loyalty to the repeating clients. Their trucks have gone down in quality. Forced to shop around as they were overcharging me, Penske was able to offer me a better truck for half the price. $100 a day vs enterprise $185. I regret the years of business I've given them.
Rent-It Truck Rentals Ventura
2299 S Victoria Ave, Ventura, CA 93003, United States
I run a small company that needs the occasional truck rental and my driver decided to go with Rent-It for our last project and we were sad we did.First of all, we picked the truck up at 2:30pm yesterday and returned it at 10am this morning and we were charged for TWO FULL DAYS for less than 1 day of having the truck.Upon picking up the truck, we were required to do a walk around with one of their workers. He was very quick and pointed out everything they had seen and had me initial for those things and sign. I did so, trusting that since it was their truck, they knew everything that was wrong with it.When my driver returned Rent It called me and their representative Brian was very curt said he damaged the top cap of the truck and charged me $450 to replace it. I told him that we didnt do the damage and that my driver had absolutely no opportunity to damage it as there was NOTHING OVERHEAD ON HIS ROUTE OTHER THAN SKY. Regardless of this, he didnt listen or care and proceeded to tell me he was going to charge it anyways. I guess my mistake was not taking pictures of the truck since they dont bother to take some of their own. They would rather baselessly accuse and charge their customers.I very rarely write reviews but I felt I needed to so maybe someone will think twice before using Rent It for their truck needs. Terrible company, terrible customer service, negligent policies. Never again.
Tool & Truck Rental Center at The Home Depot
401 W Ventura Blvd, Camarillo, CA 93010, United States
Where women love shopping at the mall, I feel the same about Home Depot. I find myself walking down different department isles dreaming up ideas for my house and property. Whether it be fixing things up or starting new projects.Ive found the staff to be friendly and helpful, in as much as I would expect from a corporate chain. The rentals department is also very helpful for bigger jobs that I wouldnt need to own the equipment.
U-Haul of Kings Canyon

Definitely made moving 100x worse! I reserved a trailer with them in person two days before my move out date. Only to arrive and none were available. They sent me to another location with the guy guaranting me a trailer and also reserving it for me before me heading to that location to pick it up, Only to find out the only trailer they had was broken for some time and has not been used and no other trailer was available at the moment. They simply stated they were sorry and they couldnt do anything for me leaving me scrambling around town looking for another trailer. None of them ever seemed to want to help just brushed me off. They failed to meet my reservation not once but twice. Be sure to collect your $50 if they fail to meet your reservation! None of the people I talked to in person ever mentioned the $50 the company guarantees if a reservation is not met.-Your welcome ?
Budget Truck Rental
2110 Ventura St, Fresno, CA 93721, United States
I worked with them in getting my move off the road. First I had reserved a cargo van for my trip about a week in advance. I felt the cargo van would be better suited to my senior body that has trouble climbing in and out of high places. When I arrived there were no cargo van. They offered the next one up, 12 footer for the same price. I had a timeline that I needed to keep so I took it. It looked fairly new so I drove it home. About 15 - 20mins fromrental site. I found the AC didnt work. I called and the young woman was apologetic and would call her boss and see if the could get another one. Not going to Texas without AC. In the interim of waiting I had to call the loaders and postpone to the next day. By the time the truck was available it was pushing 5pm. I exchanged the van, did our walk round and the cab was nice and cool. The AC was working. Boss took off $100 dollars of rental. That was nice. The loaders showed up the next day and within an hour I was on my way.I drove van over the grapevine on I5 south. I stopped to get gas around Newhall. When I started up the van I saw a message Transmission is hot, idle engine. I did that a few minutes. No change.I wanted to head out so I turned off the AC hoping that would take pressure off engine and headed East on 210. The light was still on. I pulled over and parked in a parking lot for 20-25 min with the engine off. When I restarted engine no warning light. I continued down the 210, but I noticed the engine light was now on. A few more miles and the Transmission warning came on. So I was pulling over to the off ramp when the truck kicked and made a thud sound. I believe from roar of the engine and not being able to shift, the truck was stuck in second gear.Im now sitting in the truck out front of a diner waiting for roadside assistance. That was about 45 minutes ago, when I called for help, no ETA. TBC???
