There are some great things about this place, including prices that are really nice, and good availability considering that this was the only car rental place open in Merced during New Years Eve. However there is one major point where this place falls short, and thats in its reliance on credit to actually rent a car.My experience trying to rent from here was an easy online reservation process, wherein price of the rental was agreed upon, as well as the model of vehicle and time for which I would be renting (you can choose when to pick it up and when to drop it off using a dropdown menu). It was very easy to lock in all the details and arrange for copies to be sent to my email.Prices were actually very agreeable for the basic rentals. $41 to $52 (depending on the chosen vehicle) to rent for a day, and full coverage could be had for an additional $33. Any additional fees (taxes) were presented very clearly before checkout, so no surprises.Customer service was actually pretty decent as well. It wasnt stellar by any means, but it was okay for a budget car rental agency. There was a hiccup when I made my reservation in that they did not have any vehicles which matched my reservation, but they did call me and let me know that they would lend me another kind of vehicle (an upgrade in my opinion) for the same price, so they did work to make right their mistakes.The only real complaint I have about this place is that they require one of two things to actually rent: a great credit score paired with a debit card, or else a credit card. If youre young and just getting started on credit, this place will not be an option for renting a vehicle. However, if youre an older person with good credit, this place would be okay to rent from if you need a vehicle on holidays.

I had a car reservation for 3 weeks on Saturday, September 8 At 12 noon for a business trip. First I have to wait over 45 minutes to get the car. There were several Small damages with the body of the car that need to be marked on the form, I I have to struggled with the staff to have that done. Next to the car need to be washed which caused additional waste of time but the worst is still to come turn in an afternoon of a nightmare. First I drove to Costco which is 0.5 mile. While standing on line to get gas just for a few minutes I noted that the temperature was going up and quickly reach the redline and I have to shut down the engine. After a few minutes I noted that the temperature was down in the regular range and I turn on the engine again and I drove back to the enterprise Rent-A-Car office It was already close at that point. Next I drove home paying close attention to the temperature gauge. When I was home I tried to reproduce the problem putting The car in parking with the engine on idle. In a minute or so the temperature shut up again and to document the problem I took a picture with my cell phone and I shut down the engine immediately. I called the 800-number enterprise Rent-A-Car Road service. Here I received an insane advise to drive the car to Fresno. Obviously I didn't follow the advice and I demanded that a replacement car will be delivered to my address and the defective car taken for Repair.Well,it took until 8:30 at night which is eight hour and a half From the time I rent the car, for a new car to be delivered. This is absolutely outrageous considering that Merced is 1 hour away from Fresno.The good thing that I was home.What would happen if I wouldn't be in in the middle of Highway 99. I'm just wondering if enterprise rental car just mistreat on purpose the customer that expect a decent service.At this point I have to demand The company for which I am working to fly me over to Northern California because I cannot absolutely trust to drive for 400 miles with cars that are so poorly manteined And with the road service they will leave you stranded for eight hours in case of a problem.Addendum 1/10/22The staff has changed and at least the customer service has improved a lot.Would rate 4-5 star.Angel is particularly nice and accommodating. Would be great if everyone doing customer service in Merced would be like him. The car are mostly new but not alwaysOverall I would increase the rating to 4 star.Addendum 1/12/22Rented A Toyota Corolla The staff make me sign for a full tank but was below the maximum with a remaining range of 306 miles. Usually a Corolla ha s a full range of 412-416 milesGiving the car to the customer with a full tank of gasoline is pretty basic particularly if the customer is a recurrent oneI have to bring the rating down to 2 starswill upgrade to 5 star based on the wonderful experience and service provided by the Branch Manager

I tried to support our local business and used Courtesy rather than Budget to rent a truck. PIck up time needs to be changed because someone else rented that truck. When we returned, they said we make a tiny dent and asked for $75.Make sure you take photos when you have the walk through and spot every little thing.The photo is to reply.Let your customer check it out and judge for themselves.If there are other customers who report the same spot/damage, we reserve to pursue our money back legally.This is what I remembered:Before I rent, I came to check out the truck and you said you will remove the bar in the bed because I need the full eight feet of length. I assumed I talked with you, the owner, who said your company could remove it.When we picked up the truck, the bar was still there. Luckily the cargo wasnt as big as we think.Apparently, when my dad who is at retirement age, picked up the car. The lady said dont worry about it. He spotted other spots too. Then he didnt pay much attention to the other spots.When he returned the car, another lady said she found it. My dads English and personality are not the argumentative type.And I know the owner has the power to ask the person who showed the truck to us whether she said it was ok.And the second point isAnd you contacted me regarding pushing back the time to pick up the truck because you have another customer.Being a small business owner myself, I want to help the local small business, but I want to make sure we play fair.We both know the turnover time is very short. How do you be sure the dent not caused by the previous renter?All three of us in the truck. My mom didnt drive. All three of us didnt purposely damage your truck.It would be nice to see the invoice of $75 which was quoted on the day of our return and the actual work was done to the truck.The location was told and shown on the picture. Hopefully your future customers will judge themselves.

Terrible service, I rented a truck from Sacramento to Merced, its my first time moving out of the city and renting a truck, which this location in Merced gave me the worst of my experiences and here a tall African-American woman when I get there is serving someone. Her son, approximately 3 years old, in the place, the child opened the customers pocket bag, well, she moved to grab the child, returning to tend to the customer, which was not my problem, the problem was when she helped me, she grabbed the keys and didnt say a word, she went out to the parking lot and me and my daughter followed her She looked at me with an attitude and said why are you following me? stays inside. My daughter replied, You need to talk more. When she returned inside to the waiting room, she started yelling at my daughter so much I was Olmost call the police because I was thinking she was a danger person how she was acting . She hit the desk screaming super loudly and her son in her arms looked at her scared and screamed. Her son had the keys to a rental car in his hands and waking around when she put the truck in. She put her son in the truck without any protection and she drove inside. The truth is. Its not my fault that her son stresses her out at work, its the worst. Place from dropping off the rental truck hope this place dont get sued for extremely dancer with kids and crazy people working there ?

We had to relocate with our job and searched all over Cali and Nevada trying to find a truck and penkse came to the rescue! Such a huge lifesaver. Not only did they have a truck, they guaranteed us our truck, gave us fantastic rates, had unlimited miles and we had a whole week to use the truck for our cross country move. Everyone we had talked to with the company was wonderful and helpful. The whole situation was just a life saver and blew the other companies out of the water. The trucks are very high riding, but all in all 100/100

Courtesy Rent A Car is so close to the airport, and shuttle you to and from your flights! They have a great selection of cars for extremely reasonable prices. The staff is always so friendly and helpful, and they have mileage packages and specials for any trip needed! They will answer all of your questions and explain everything in detail. You dont even need a credit card to rent! I used a prepaid debit card just fine. I would never even think of renting from anyone else.

** 24 July 2018 **I just called for rates, I waiting 6-8 minutes before a female answered the phone. I was asked for detailed information on what I was doing and where. After mentioning that I only wanted prices and not a reservation, she explained that she needed all this information to generate prices. After I said to make it up, Im only helping a friend, and that I could understand being denied a rental if my vehicle was determined unable to safely tow a car trailer,, I was placed on hold so she could get the price... another 6-8 minutes and someone else answered the phone. I explained that someone was working on a price for me, this girl went straight to the point and got me a price but explained that some days have different rates....car dolly - $ 44 a daycar trailer - $ 54 a day...Since I was passing the area, 5-10 minutes later I stopped by to see how busy they were. 1 person on his cell at the corner of the showroom, no acknowledgement of my presence. 1 person in garage under a customers vehicle, busy. 1 person in a rental truck, talking to customer somewhat unavailable ... no acknowledgement of my presence.~~~~if you have 20 minutes just to get a price, heres the place to call. Busy..? then dont waste your time..!!

Joel is just a remarkable Christian person who helped me out tremendously with my move. I needed a UHaul trailer and not only did he help me make a reservation, and then help me to adjust the reservation, he made sure that I had all of the proper equipment to tow and inspected my SUV to make sure it would work out. This was all even without me actually getting the trailer from his location in the end (due to my reservation needs). He alleviated so much stress and worry for me for this important move with me and my kids. Go to Joel with any of your moving, towing or UHaul needs. He is your man!
