Truck Rental at U-Haul
25290 Jeronimo Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
Ive been scammed. Very rude service and I have been charged $285 that I never agreed to.I originally booked online a 20 truck through a costa mesa location with a three 3 day deal which included 238 miles. A few days before my reservation I was told that I had to pick up in Lake Forest to get a 20 truck. I agreed to the location change. When I picked up the truck and paid, the person who helped me, took my payment for the deal I booked online. He said everything was fine and I would only have to pay for miles over the 238 that the deal provided. When I returned the truck, the man who helped me return the truck was very rude to me. He explained that I only booked the truck for a one day rental for only 19 miles. I explained that I booked and already paid for a specific 3 day deal with many more miles than that. He was very rudely accusatory and asked for proof of the deal. I felt pressured and flustered as I went through my emails which shows the three day rental, but none of the uhaul emails confirmed the # of miles. He behaved like he thought I was lying because I couldnt find the exactly email on my phone and screen shot of the deal I had confirmed with the gentleman who originally rented me the truck. He then told me a manager would be in contact with me because he kind of thought there was some sort of online deal.NO MANAGER HAS CONTACTED ME, BUT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED $285 in MILEAGE that should have been included in the online promotion that I booked. Im stopping payment on my credit card. I do believe I was a few miles over the allotment for the deal, but not $285 worth. Also, they asked me to drive further to pick up the truck, so really my overage miles were incurred because I had to drive 15 miles out of my way to get the truck and drop it off... so im paying for that too.The only reason I booked this truck was because the online promotion worked in my favor.I feel scammed and Im never renting from Uhaul ever again.

Blackwell Insurance Agency
23002 Lake Center Dr # 200, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
For most of us, insurance is a necessary evil. It's not fun. But, it comes at great peril to neglect insurance needs. Insurance companies appear to be backing out of California. Our family has long and faithfully paid two big, well known, insurance companies to cover our family's properties as well as other insurance needs. We got a whiff that one of our providers was not going to renew one of our policies. So, we called our other provider and asked if they'd write a policy, for the affected property. They declined. I was stunned. Our loyalty and patronage over many years didn't mean a thing to either these behemoths in the industry. That's where Ken Haraughty and his team at Blackwell Insurance Agency stepped in. They are a multi-generational family insurance broker. They called around and found a provider who would write the new policy. As we made the arrangements, Ken was responsive and reliable, texting and calling us, beyond office hours, until he got us squared-away. We were never dumped into a robo-phone system. Nobody ever spoke in cloying tones, telling us they, “understood our frustration.” Ken will be our first call, should we ever have a claim or question, regarding the new policy. We never had a dedicated contact, with the household name companies, who so happily cashed our checks for the many years prior. We do now!
Bradley Purcell - State Farm Insurance Agent
20331 Lake Forest Dr c5, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
I do not recommend Bradly to anyone unless you want to spend hours and hours of time to correct his mistake, waste money and energy and are looking for headaches. Bradly has set up my insurance policy wrong for two years and billing me about $100-200/month more, I kept calling and emailing and sometimes he would say he will look into it and didn't get back or he'd respond that a sudden 100-200/month rate increase was correct and normal which was wrong! One time that I went to his office to settle this matter as I was sure it was a mistake, he was unimaginabily rude and asked me to leave his office! Finally I complained to state farm and they looked into his mistake and they refunded me with more than $3000. The other issue was I contacted about an accident claim and he got back to me after more than a month of calling and emailing! State Farm despite claiming that they charge a higher rate but are not cheap when it comes to getting your car fixed gave me an estimate HALF the other two estimates I had from two other body shops one of them being their own select body shop, and they didn't correct their offer after I sent them those estimates! Finally I canceled my insurances with State Farm got confirmation from Bradly that he had canceled it and I found out that I'm am billed again today after a week that I cancelled! And apparently he hasn't even canceled my insurance when e said he did. Like there is no end to headaches he can cause! I have to call State Farm again to get this fixed! Luckily I have this documented through my email. If for some reason you go with him or he is already your agent communicate through email so you have everything documented. I got insurance with another company with exactly half the price of state farm rate and better service, more respectful and same coverage.
Reeves-Reeves and Associates Insurance Services
23725 Birtcher Dr, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
Reeves-Reeves and Associates have provided our insurance needs for the past several years and I am pleased to say that it was a great choice. The Reeves family and all of there staff work hard to take care of me and my family. For example, it was Christmas Eve at midnight we were returning home from a family get together and we opened the door into the house to see water pouring out of second floor creating a waterfall into the kitchen, family, bathroom, and living room. Long story short, the Reeves group were instrumental in helping us find not just any place but a clean and safe place to live, for 3 months out of our house during reconstruction, with four kids under under five. They saved us.Jammie, Paul, Steve and all the all the staff are great to work with. They take the time to answer my question, review my insurance needs closely, recommend changes, and always look for ways to save money. And finally, they all are cordial, upbeat, and, what I truly appreciate, they return calls promptly. They take good care of us. Thanks to all!
CARSTAR Lake Forest
20781 Canada Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
I accidentally found CarStar after I received 2 quotes from nearby shops. I was looking for a 3rd quote before I made my decision. Thank GOD I found CarStar. They were the cheapest quote to repair my back bumper, which had fallen off completely (no accident. I parked weird and hit something to make my bumper fall off). I just showed up, unannounced on a Monday....I spoke with Kevin (and another gentleman) about a quote. They wasted no time in providing me the quote or answering my questions which included how I was going to rent a car. They cover a certain amount of your rental car, they arrange your pick up and you return the car to CarStar and the rental agency comes and picks up the car. It took a total of 2 days for them to repair the bumper. The communication was OUTSTANDING and the bumper looks perfect. Perfect match paint wise also!! Not to mention, the car came back washed inside AND out!!Look no more.....THIS IS THE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR CAR.Single Mom on a tight budget and payed out of pocket!! Very grateful for CarStar.
West Coast Rovers
22552 Muirlands Blvd, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
I own a 2004 Discovery with 75k miles. I bought it new with a 7 year extended warranty and serviced by the dealership during the warranty period. After the warranty expired I started looking for a reliable mechanic outside the dealership realm. I started asking other Land Rover owners and the consensus was unanimous, “Take it to West Coast Rovers, and ask for Eddie”.My buddy also bought a 2004 Discovery with an OME Lift, ARB color matched Bumper/Warn Winch and Snorkel from the same dealership, and the add-ons were installed flawlessly. Upon further inquiry he found out the add-ons were installed by Eddie at West Coast Rovers.Approx. 30 days ago I had a catastrophic engine failure with a huge puddle of oil on the ground. My buddy took me to West Coast Rovers without my car so I could talk with Eddie to get a “feel” for his shop. I found that Eddie took the time to show us around his shop and answer all my questions in detail. I was impressed and decided to have my Disco towed in that same day.My buddy was also impressed that Eddie had discovered a permanent fix for the three amigos (you do know what that is don’t you?) that he left his Disco that same day so Eddie could forever rid his Disco of its annoying effects. West Coast Rovers has made arrangements with a major car rental agency for a discounted rental rate for those who need it and we needed one. The car rental picked us up within minutes and gave us a Camry at a very good price. My oil pump as it turned out literally exploded into pieces and in the process broke through and destroyed the engine’s front cover. Eddie told me that he had never seen an oil pump come apart like this before. After removing the cover pieces, he found the lower timing chain gear on the crank shaft had also been damaged and had “welded” itself to the crank. Instead of just replacing the crankshaft (read very expensive) he had his team take extra time to “massage” the gear off. Miraculously they were able to remove the broken gear without leaving a scratch on the crankshaft or keyway.Eddie immediately contacted me with revised service quotes, updates on part order timelines and overall progress. He was available to me every time I called and answered all my questions. The final bill was far less than what a dealership would have charged, and I am confident that the work was completed with skill and integrity. I have made Eddie my permanent “Go To Guy” and I would highly recommend West Coast Rovers if you live anywhere within a hundred mile radius of his shop.
Portfolio
25541 Commercentre Dr Suite 100, Lake Forest, CA 92630, United States
A few days ago, I submitted a review regarding a phone conversation with Lauren and the unbelievably helpful information she gave me. This (very lengthy) review regards JoLynn McCullough and includes an awful lot of background I left off of Laurens review. If you dont have a lot of time and want to skip the background, skip down to the ***** near the bottom of this note. As I explained in Laurens review, Im having trouble with a dealership that has, literally, stolen my refund from the cancellation of an extended warranty I had with Portfolio. I cancelled due to the manufacturer warranty, not Portfolio. But thats not the point. The Legal Director for the entire Auto Group refuted my claim with the Arkansas Attorney General and included a copy of a Portfolio form (it had the Portfolio logo on it) as proof I wanted the funds from my cancellation used as a down payment. Criminals arent smart, these Arkansas criminals are really sloppy (I was going to say stupid but JoLynn probably wouldnt care for that). All the information was type-written except someone wrote to be used as down payment in cursive as the reason for cancellation. Believe it or dont. I was easily able to prove the other documents submitted were complete frauds but I had never seen this form before. I knew it wasnt a form used to verify application of funds from the cancellation but didnt have any idea where it came from or what purpose it served. Finally getting to the point. The only help understanding this form would have to come from the people who it belonged to: Portfolio. I was certain I told Lauren I wouldnt call again (she insisted it was no problem many times) but really, really didnt want to go back on my word. After all, I am not a Portfolio customer and no one at Portfolio owes me anything. After trying to get the answer on the internet I was stuck so I tried to call Lauren but she wasnt at her desk. ***** JoLynn answered and asked me how she could direct my call. To me, that means one of two things, operator or receptionist. After telling me Lauren was away from her desk and asking if I would like to leave a message (I said no), she asked if there was something she could help me with? She told me she was familiar with the form I was calling about and then I knew I had hit the jackpot again. I began asking questions and the extent of her knowledge on this form and everything having to do with the extended warranty process was remarkable to say the least. I asked question after question and she was so gracious and willing to take the time to explain her answers so someone unfamiliar with the extended warranty process (me) could understand them. Then she made sure I understood and answered many questions, that would certainly have come up later, before I even thought of them. She was so helpful and giving of her time with spot on assistance, I was afraid I had taken advantage of her. What a nice lady. It was like talking to family. Please thank her for me and tell her I appreciate her more than I can say, even in this lengthy message. The kindness and assistance given by both, JoLynn and Lauren, reflect well both on themselves, Portfolio and, to me, extended warranties.Very respectfully,C. Glenn Carlton

AUTOPOM REALLY DELIVERS ON THEIR WARRANTIESAlthough we have been very lucky in terms of service on our most recent Range Rovers, we decided to purchase extended warranties just in case we had an issue prior to trading them in for the new model. The search for the most comprehensive and reliable extended warranty though, was not the easiest of tasks given that there were many options in the market. Numerous companies, including some of the largest names on television, promise the most comprehensive policies and hassle free service, but after reading hundreds of reviews, it was clear that many of the companies do not stand behind their guarantees. After a long and exhaustive search and although their reviews were actually great to begin with, we took a leap of faith and selected AutoPom.AutoPom has several different plans, but because Range Rovers are notorious for costly repairs when something does go wrong, we selected the EFG platinum plan, which I was told is as close to the original factory warranty as possible. After a little more than 2 years into extended warranty and despite the fact that my wife's car is barely ever driven and still only has 26,000 miles on it, we heard a strange noise coming from the engine and therefore decided to send the car in to be checked out. The Range Rover repair facility provided a long list of required repairs totaling just over $18,000 and mentioned that they would contacting AutoPom directly to start the claims process.Because of the huge costs involved, AutoPom sent out an inspector to survey the vehicle and it was the inspector's expert opinion that the vast majority of the items on the list were unnecessary since most were in perfect working order. I contacted the service department and AutoPom to discuss the discrepancy and quickly realized what might have been going on. Suffice to say, I was furious that the repair shop seemed to be attempting to take advantage of me and the warranty company by running up the cash register with numerous items that appeared to be unnecessary. That issue has already been resolved appropriately. In the end though, there were three or four items that were actually necessary, the total cost of which was approximately $5000. AutoPom covered everything exactly as they promised they would before I purchased their warranty and stood behind their promises without delay or denial. Additionally, the fact that they sent their own inspector out to survey the vehicle before the repairs started served as an important check because had I not had an advocate with them, I could have unfortunately been the victim of a large bill that was almost entirely unnecessary. I wanted to also mention that when the claim started, I had no issues reaching their team and I was even able to speak with the owner of the company who very generously, offered to step in and assist me with the situation. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe the total cost of the warranty was about $3500 for three additional years and it has obviously already paid for itself 1 ½ times over. I could not be happier with the AutoPom guarantee and their very professional, knowledgeable and courteous team who were in my corner looking out for my interests as well, from the moment they were contacted. If you are in need of an extended warranty, you should consider my review of AutoPom as a truly real life and honest firsthand experience of their wonderful company!
The Village Lodge Mammoth
1111 Forest Trail, Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546, United States
The level of customer service was EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend booking and enjoying an experience at The Village Lodge Mammoth. Maria Salzberg, the front desk representative went above and beyond! My sons and I were recently stranded in Mammoth Lakes due to extreme heavy snowfall in a very short timeframe, flights were cancelled, rental car agencies were closed and the city was at a stand still. Although our reservations had run out with the lodge being full, she went over and above to somehow find not only find us clean comfortable rooms and got us set up while we enjoyed boarding the mountain.
