The best service quality youre likely to find at any U-Haul. Problem? Theyll find a way to fix it.FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a former employee at this location, as well as a salvage mechanic in the shop behind. You may consider this bias, but I consider it a full view of what really happens when you rent a U-Haul truck!U-Haul Centers (centers are directly run by uhaul vs. dealerships, which are private companies that provide U-Haul product) have rigorous processes for managing equipment rentals, and it is top-notch. However, you cant predict people.Trucks go all over the country in unpredictable ways. Consequently,, service quality will vary, depending on the people executing those processes. The best U-Haul centers --including this one-- have complaints. Look more closely, you see that some people just like to complain.A good company is fair to EVERYBODY, which means that sometimes the answer is no. Some people just dont like not getting what they want.At this location, the people make all the difference, and you can be sure that you will get the best possible response in any situation. This can-do attitude begins with Lester Halla, the General Manager. If you want good service and the most for your dollar, go to this location. End of story.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Thornton
4833 Thornton Ave, Fremont, CA 94536, United States
To start off, I wasnt informed of the option to have 24hr access to my storage unit, and they rented me a unit on the interior of one of the buildings which I thus didnt know was inaccessible after store hours. I arrived at 7:10pm with a pickup-load of stuff to find the staff closing up the store, and all the buildings were locked with no way to get into my unit. I had to haul everything back home and unload it back into my garage. In trying to rent and deal with delivery of a U-Box later to move my stuff out of the storage unit and cross-country, I seldom was able to speak to a rep at the store; nearly every call rolled over to the national call center, whose staff couldnt really handle things that were store-specific, and my calls were only returned by store staff about 10% of the time. Generally, I always had to call and leave messages multiple times to get a call back for anything, and the cumulative result was that my cross-country move was delayed more than 10 days, and they missed getting my U-Box delivered by the end of the month, thus forcing me to pay for an extra month of rent on the storage unit. The original quote that I received for the U-Box was somehow misplaced and not logged electronically such that the national U-Box customer service people could see it when I called to confirm my reservation a couple days before it was supposed to be available, and they told me the price would be $400 more than the original quote. Only after leaving messages for the store over the course of 4 days, and finally being escalated to the regional managers voicemail and waiting a few more days for a call back, was I able to get them to dig up and honor the original price.Worse, my U-Box was not forklifted into position on time, even though Id called the day before to make sure they had plenty of notice to have things ready. I had to call the store to find out what was wrong, my call rolled over (again) to the national call center, I explained my predicament and was transferred to a regional manager, and she messaged and called the manager at the Thornton location directly to finally get someone to move the U-Box. My movers, who were being paid by the hour, waited for 25 minutes on the clock (my dime) before they could start working. If things had gone less-than-swimmingly a few times, thats everyday life, and I would understand. As it was, I was held hostage to a pattern of inattention and failure to follow through over a period of multiple weeks that cost me a bunch of extra money, delayed my move, and was a real pain to try to resolve. As I write this, Ive been waiting all afternoon for a call back to set up shipment of my U-Box.

The csr was great he did his best to help and understand the safety of the customer and as well as he make sure equipment is fully secured to the vehicle but the one problem the place has less selection or less rental equipment this due to poor marketing or poor inventory supplied to the location .the marketing company should overlook the need of the rental center and request the supplier to provide more equipment to the location we based on Fremont and many times we don't find equipment in Fremont area we have few times rent the equipment from far away .

We had the opportunity to buy our first home, which happened to be a newly built house in a subdivision. We had multiple vendors attempting to work with us, but were so overwhelmed with the various numbers and complicated jargon. We wanted to make sure we were making the best decision for ourselves and our new home. Kevin Nusss team, especially Lynette was so knowledgable, kind, and understanding about our concerns and presented information to us that made us so confident in our decision as first time home buyers. In addition, Lynette was extremely responsive and communicative with our lender which contributed to a smooth closing. I would recommend Kevin Nusss team to all my family, friends, and colleagues! We can now comfortably enjoy our brand new home and rest assured that we have protected it to the best of our abilities all thanks to Lynette.

Extra Space Storage
38491 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94536, United States
I have been storing my valuables first at The Storage Spot and now Extra Space Storage for over fifteen years. Originally the longtime manager Lisa took very good care of the property and her renters. In fact I rented a second unit and Lisa gave me the same price for each. The original owners sold the property sometime in 2017 or 2018 and kept Lisa to manage the complex. Thats when the owners raised the unit prices by almost 50%.Then the second owners sold to another party. Lisa was let go. The third owners decided to either have Extra Space Storage manage and/or sold to them. Then the prices went up again. Then I decided to get combine two units into one. I talked to the manager Carlos about any discounts for longtime renters. They gave me a 5% discount because I am a senior citizen.Last month they raised their unit prices again. Enough!!! I decided to more my valuable to another facility that was almost 50% less and a better location.Extra Space Storage only cares about their bottom line $$$. They pack every space available with cars, trucks, trailers, and RVs. A big truck has a hard time maneuvering around the corners!!! I surmise the manager gets a bonus for the percentage of units and parking space available. There was recently a fire that burned down part of their earning potential. Now Extra Space has to charge more to make up for their lost earnings!

Ordered what I needed and coming to find out it wasnt exactly as described its 1/2 of what I was expecting upon calling I was informed its not what it shows in the description at all its only one of the two for the price I got them at Id have given a 5 star if I got the items in the description but in reality for this price plus the shipping I could have driven down to a local store and it would have been cheaper and Id would know what I was paying for instead of being disappointed with my order and experience with this company.

B2 Moving Company
300 Franciscan Ct, Fremont, CA 94539, United States
BAIT and SWITCH BUYER BEWARE SEE PHOTOSLike many in the country the past two years has been particularly hard for us. I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the fall of 2019 and while undergoing treatments and multiple surgeries COVID-19 hit. Like many people, I lost my employment which pushed us out of the Bay Area. In March 2021 we made the decision to relocate to be near family and employment opportunities. After reviewing YELP, we contracted B2 Moving as it appeared they were a reputable business. The contract was for $3400 cash for three movers to secure, load and unload our residence. We have no children or pets and lived in a 400 sq. foot in-laws' unit.On March 8th, 3 movers arrived (as outlined in the contract) at our residence and secured and loaded our belongings onto the moving the truck. Visual inspection of the action of the movers was limited due to COVID-19 protocols being followed. The unloading out of the truck the next day (March 9, 2021) is where things went wrong. Only one man (the driver) arrived with the moving truck and unloaded all its contents solo into an empty garage space. Items were secured and untouched as placed by this mover until we were able to unpack on May 17, 2021. It appeared that the mover knowingly surrounded the damaged furniture by boxes to obscure line of sight, thus the damage wasn't detectable until we began to unpack on May 17, 2021.We contacted B2 Moving immediately, outlining the damage that was done to our furniture. Several pieces were damaged and two were damaged beyond repair.1. China Hutch-family heirloom (Damaged beyond repair)The 3 glass shelves to the China Hutch were wrapped on-top of it and boxes were placed onto of the shelves. When the plastic wrap was removed from the hutch two of the three shelves had fractures through them. (see picture) The back-left leg was broken off. The hutch lock was broken and key missing. The Key was attached to a 1 heirloom infinity copper key chain engraved (which was an anniversary gift to my husband), which the mover took with him.2 The Bar has two indents from the dolly.3.) TV Console The top was not protected, there are scratches on the right front corner.4.) Pub Table: Large dent/gouge /scratch in the leg (Damaged beyond repair).5.) The Vanity Mirror was detached from the unit, it was not wrapped and has small pressure mark on upper right corner. We received several communications back from our inquiries, from Dan the manger. He asked us to provide him with the reimbursement dollar amount (which was $2353.39), so that he could make it right. On May 24, Dan ultimately responded back with contractual language stating the terms are sixty cents per pound for damages and the max they could reimburse would be $350. He stated that it had been three months since the unload, insinuating the length of time had been too delayed for notification of damages. The contract as we pointed out, was voided by B2 Movers when they did NOT provide the agreed upon and paid in full service of three movers for loading and unloading. We did contact B2Movers the moment we discovered the damages, which is well within the contractual language of “nine months notification”. We had seven pieces of furniture moved and five now have significant damage, two are a complete loss. I had really hoped that Dan would honor his promise and make it right, but as of this writing he appears to be fine with the actions of his movers, which is a real shame. Please stay clear of this company at all cost. They will destroy your furniture and not honor their commitments/contracts.

REI
43962 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94538, United States
DONT PURCHASE HERE! They LIE ABOUT THEIR RETURN POLICY. If you purchase a bad product, they wont let you return it.I handed my receipt and product tag with item practically new on 1/21/20. I bought a down jacket, REI brand, literally a few days ago. I only wore it for 15 minutes until it felt SO ITCHY because the DOWN FEATHERS KEPT COMING OUT OF THE JACKET AND ONTO MY SHIRT! I left it in my husbands backpack because I didnt want to use it and down went everywhere in it. What a cheap quality fabric. Upon returning it, the female staff at the register said, I SPOKE TO MY MANAGER AND THATS NOT A GOOD REASON TO RETURN. THE DOWN COMING OUT IS THE WAY THE PRODUCT IS. Perhaps she didnt call the manager as I wasnt there when she claimed it happened. I told her Ive never heard of such a return policy. 30 days return policy for most stores is standard. It wasnt even final sale. Ive bought, sold and developed down coats before and never have I heard of this excuse. The fabric is cheap because down comes out so often (1 feather every 16 square inches). With better fabric, closer weave and other reasons, that wouldnt happen. It hasnt been close to 30 days even though their return policy is a year and/or longer (I already checked online regarding their return policy). She went on about how customers take advantage of REIs return policy (example, returns an item 15 years later or an equipment the customer obviously used). What does that have to do with my product!!!!??? Ive purchased clothes and never have I heard of this return policy I told her. I asked if there is a return policy online and she said, NO. THE RETURN POLICY DEPENDS ON THE ITEM. I can understand if its underwear and final sale, but thats not what she meant. I asked if I had originally told her my return is because I didnt like the color, would she have accepted the return. She said, Yes, but thats not the reason. YOU CAN USE THAT REASON AT ANOTHER STORE AND THEY SHOULD ACCEPT IT. Then that upset me more. I think they want to have the best record for least returns or best in sales for their location.I was very upset. As I walked out towards the exit, she asked, Why did it itch? I already explained in detail why it made me itch earlier and she mentioned why itching is not a good reason for return. Why pretend to care as Im walking out the door?I didnt dress inappropriate or have a bad attitude. I just came in and walked to the line. There was only 1 customer in front of me and 1 person behind me. It was in the middle of the day around 4pm, so barely any customers there or in line. Why did she treat me like that?Would have to check, but the law may be different in California...the return policy should be clearly stated where the client makes the transaction. I called another REI store and the staff said, We have a very generous return policy. What you were told at that store is not right. Conclusion: With a contradicting return policy, you never know what you can return. Dont buy something you obviously can return here (example, practically 99% brand new clothing). Other REI stores are further, but was clear about the return policy and said theyll accept my return.

Les Schwab Tire Center
36761 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94536, United States
Les Schwab in Lodi Ca is filled with phonies. They seem nice to your face, then talk crap about how much of a hassle youve been in the shop. Came In to get an alignment on my f150, they damaged the rubber boot just above my toe bar, made me feel like a jerky for asking them to replace what they had damaged. Waited 2 weeks for a part that the manager said was just a 3 dollar boot. I had to call, and make appearances at the shop and to the manager in the back just to make sure they didnt blow me off completely. I was standing there the day the boot was relieved and watched as the manager threw the boot at the employee who damaged the first one as if he was saying, fix this so this kid is out of my hair. I dont appreciate the fact that Ive been treated as a burden, an inconvenience, and how they think I cant read body language amongst the shop employees. I am here now doing my 3rd alignment since my truck has pulled hard to the left ever since I brought it in, and I feel uncomfortable, like everyone wants me out of here. I do not recommend this place for people who truly care about their vehicle. I am very disappointed with the managers who run this shop because if you cause them an issue, the treat you like an issue and that is never going to give a paying customers a good experience. I came here because you are a well respected tired place, you have decent prices for almost everything, and have been extremely patient with all the trouble Ive delt with. Honestly Im really angry about this whole thing because if I were a big old tuff dude, and not a skinny white kid, I feel like I would have been better taken care of.

Dumbarton Quarry Campground on the Bay
9400 Quarry Rd, Fremont, CA 94555, United States
A review from @amom2kidsandaparkThe newest East Bay Regional Park site to open comes equipped with 63 camping sites (rv and tent), a store, a playground, an amphitheater with fire pit, and picnic areas. Although it is ready for campers, the site has only implemented Phase 1 of opening. Phase 2 will incorporate more neighboring land which will in turn create more exploration opportunities. The campsite is located on the former Dumbarton Quarry which was active for nearly 60 years. Quarrying took gravel from a 190 foot hill to build local airports, bridges and highways. Quarrying the hill created the deepest human made pit in North America at 22 acres across and 320 feet below sea level at the deepest point. The pit was filled with clean debris from local constructions projects and is now one of the few “urban campsites” for miles. Although this doesn't give the typical escape from the city camping vibe, it does offer traveling families an easy stop over when driving through the bay or local families the chance to give camping a try while being close to home. If all goes to hell you can literally load your kids in your car and drive home. Just return the next day to try again ?If you need to add nature to your camping visit there are trails that connect to nearby Coyote Hills and the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The play area has a low structure with double slide, steps, short climbing wall, jumping pads, music maker, bridge, and shoot allowing a toy or ball to travel from the top level to the ground. There is a three person teeter totter, climbing logs and rocks with small hiding spots mixed in, and a swing set (hard plastic standard swings). Behind the playground is a large grassy area. There is a bathroom and parking lot near the playground. You may notice there's basically no shade. The running comment with other parents who were also there on opening day was “this is gonna be a great spot in like 30 years when all the trees grow”. Not an ideal spot for a hot day ?As it is a regional park there is a parking fee to access the grounds (even if you want to just drive around to check it out).
